There are 2 kinds of bad haircuts. There are bad ( uneven, unblended) haircuts and good haircuts (just not the one you wanted)
Yes, there are unstable clients but there are also a LOT of poorly trained stylists. My last haircut was SO bad I couldn't go back because the only recourse would be to shave my head!!!!!(and I paid $75.00 plus tip!) I even went in with a picture of the style I wanted. Thanks for your help video!
Me too and that's happened on the last two haircuts!!! I'm letting this grow out now and that's it!! From now on will just trim it myself!!!!
Twice in 3 months I have gotten bad haircuts. Both stylists refused to do what I asked. It's like they are afraid to cut my hair the way I want it. What's happened to the days of going to a stylist and actually getting an awesome cut and style? It's so discouraging. I'm trying to re-enter the workforce in a professional capacity and these haircuts make me look ridiculous.

I usually cut my hair impulsive like but left it long with short layers on top so it never noticed much. I tried giving myself a Bob asymmetrically now since i butchered it i have to cut my hair the same way i been doing it all choppy and in many layers. Never again

Thank God I can cut my own hair! Nobody has touched my hair in 12 yrs now but me! There is nothing worse in this field than sitting in a stylists chair to have them run their mouth’s to someone else the whole time! I had a woman who was very skilled, but literally yelled and laughed it up talking to other stylists while I am paying for her undivided attention on my hair! It is rude and unnerving, and so stressful! I would try and make my appointment early in the day! If she yacked the whole time my hair wasn’t as good as when she was not distracted! I can understand if someone asks her a question etc! But politely say, excuse me one second… that lets the other person realize they’re interrupting! Ppl have no sense of self awareness anymore…. Love your vids❤️

Yep, I just got a horrible haircut. My hairdresser recently retired and went to someone local. Now I wish I hadn't went. She complained that my hair was too thick and I needed layers. She thinned my hair out that my hair is too thin. One side is longer than the other. She absolutely destroyed my hair. I will never go back to another stylist again 😒

Same thing just happened to me. Used a slide cut on dry hair even after I said that doesn't work on my hair. I detest hair stylists. This particular witch said I've been cutting hair for 37 years when I told her a slide cut would ruin my hair. Which of course it did. I've been wearing this hair a lot longer than she's been cutting hair. Did I mention I loathe stylists? Especially the ones that don't listen and act like you don't know your own damn hair. Now I have to live with hair that looks like I got my head stuck in a wood chipper. This champion hair cutting witch didn't even section my hair off.
Tomorrow I'm going to the salon to talk to the stylist who destroyed my hair last week.
I had showed him several photos of the cut I was going for and thought I'd be safe. Instead, he took 3 inches off my bob, rather than the 1 inch we verbally agreed on. He thinned my hair out with feathered layers, after I had shared my concerns about health related hair thinning in my already fine hair. He layered the ends to a straggly mess, after I specifically asked for and showed pictures of a blunt cut. Instead of the slight taper at the front I requested, I ended up with what I can only describe as hound dog ears hanging weirdly on the sides of my head. To top it all, one side is noticeably longer than the other. He also cut it too short to tie back, after I told him I need to tie it back for work, so I can't even hide the frizzy, straggly mess he left from all the layers.
Next week I'm flying overseas to see my family for the first time in over 3 years due to the pandemic. Instead of feeling happy and excited, I feel depressed, angry and filled with dread. I want to cry every time I look mirror...
So yeah, I'm going to see him tomorrow. He can't possibly fix it, but I do want to ask him face to face why the heck he would do such a thing. I feel strongly he should have at least one moment of accountability, seeing as I'll be living with this embarrassing mess for at least the next 6-12 months.
This was a guy who claimed he'd been styling hair for over 18 yeas. He was recommended to me by the salon owner. But it was a Friday and I was his last appointment of the week, so maybe he was just tired and couldn't be bothered to try anymore. Maybe he was quiet quitting. I think the best reparation he could offer would be to let me cut his hair and see how he likes it.

@@UESGrl21 I went back to the salon and asked the stylist to talk to me outside so as not to cause a scene. I then proceeded to calmly point out all of the issues mentioned in my comment above. He couldn't deny any of it because the proof was standing right in front of him on top of my head. I asked him why he did it and his only response was, "I don't know." He then mumbled that he wasn't an asshole. I said it wasn't about whether or not he was an asshole, but about him taking accountability. I can't say he did because he never really apologized.
I then asked for a refund from the salon, which I got, but he turned his back and walked away when I asked for him to refund the tip. So I got most of my money back (I would rather have had my hair!) and the satisfaction of seeing him squirm in front of a few fellow employees as he was put on the spot to get the refund.
Since then, I've only had my hair trimmed twice and now I'm growing it long. I'm older, so it's probably my last hurrah with long hair due to it being so fine.

Hello Hello...I have been watching your videos and I have been doing hair 4 25yrs. You mentioned it took u and is still taking time to perfect a haircut...I was like WOW. I not the best haircutter. I am use to chemical services, ethnic hair , ppl w/ medical conditions so I never had to do anything but a trim. Thank You 4 showing us the way, the truth and the light!
Today my barber started off the haircut really nicely and perfectly faded the sides how I wanted them, I asked to take a tiny bit off the top and he takes about 3/4 off. Now it’s impossible to style on looks uneven.
When i went to get a haircut today, i told the guy to just shorten the hair on the back and a bit on the sides, but keep the front hairs height the same and the dude just shortened it all and its like a whole different transformation when i just asked to shorten the sides and back. ( i had pretty long hair, front hair was at about mouth length)
bro today i asked for a taper, he did the sides and back good, but he cut so much from the top, it looks really thin and flat, even though i said only half an inch

I just got a terrible haircut. I asked for a fluffy long feathered bob, but I got an A line SHORT uneven choppy cut. I will not return to that stylist! I cannot afford to get it fixed as I am on a fixed monthly income. When I went to see my sister, she said, "Oh my, she really chopped up your hair." I suppose I will learn how to wear a hat as I don't have any light scarfs. I hope that it grows fast as it is awful, uneven, chopped and looks like I attempted to give myself a haircut.

Bless you, when I went to a hair dresser (first mistake since I’m a dude) it all immediately went wrong. New and young hair dresser didn’t know how to dye hair nor did the hair color right (I requested white and they did have it). She started cluelessly dying my hair and leaving half of my hair out. The washing processes went okay then the cutting… oh boy… I had a mullet hair cut and they turned it into a bob haircut and now I look like a thumb. Not only that, they were making racist and homophobic comments which made me extra uncomfortable since I’m a homosexual.
So tip for any man out there, don’t go to an old female hairdresser with a young assistant. Always a red flag.
Hair stylists need to do a check few times to see if it is cut properly.. i have had hair cut without them.checking and always always have them blowdry , and re check.

After 2 years of having long hair, I just got my haircut, and it looks like a mix of this hair and Monica's Dudley Moore haircut from Friends. I wanted to keep some length that I could still tie my hair and achieve the "surfer" guy look, but it was cut too short. I will grow my hair out again. Guess I'm gonna wear a hat for the next months 😩
same thing happened to me but he destroyed my hair. like actually destroyed it to the point i may have to go to only a few inches. my hair was 15in before he destroyed it and I said I want my hair long still, just need it shaped up correctly so that it doesnt look so thick. my hair is now 2in in the back and 8 on the sides and front. everything I do makes it look like I put a fuking coconut on my damn head

Just few weeks ago, I been to a salon and he freaking guy ruined my haircut... Honestly, I just feel like shave my head - Imagine it's that bad.... Hopefully I will be able to fix it or decide not to go to a salon at all & keep trying my best to do it by myself....

Ive had good n bad haircuts but the amount of times ive asked and shown with pictures ( including previous pics of myself too with desired haircut if i've had it before) . To get nearly the opposite of what I asked for. It appears im also not alone. Worst is when the hairdresser did a good job last time , you ask for just a trim of what you have and they just hack it.😢

I have a double crown. A stylist over texturized my hair in my crown area and it’s been a nightmare ever since , especially when I cut it myself and ran into the texturized pieces. Ugh, straight sticking up at the crown and I don’t rock spiky!

Got a too short pixie, a wig is the only way to fix it when it's THAT short. Stylist point cut the whole thing, managed to sort of save my bangs. Ugh. How can they be so stupid? Does this look good? Nope!

Ive been trimming my own hair with clippers for the last couple of years to prevent these issues from happening.
Once they cut your hair off you can't magically glue it back on. I have to grow my hair first before it can be fixed.
I may have to wait up to 3-4 years to get my hair back to what I originally wanted
@@CandycaneBeyond Once you cut your hair short it takes a long time to grow it back again. It's easy to cut it off, not so much to grow it back. I made the mistake of cutting layers on the side and it's taking forever to grow out wearing hair clips. ☹️ I finally got my hair to one length again but had to cut a fair bit off the back.

I went back and told her. 4 people tried to fix her mistake. No one could. And the boss said it was fine. She's still working there. I'm not the 1st to have a problem with her. My hair hasn't been right since. 😕
So I got back from the hair Solon, one side of my hair is 1-inch longer then the other, then the back of my head is only 1-inch long (btw I’ma boy and my hair is around 6-7inches on the side) so it looks really bad, then she made the sides why to short. What’s do I do cause I don’t wanna shorten my hair, but there is only two weeks intel school, it will look a little better, but it will still look bad what do I do😭😭😭
Recently a stylist ("designer" they call him at the salon he works for) cut my hair inches shorter than we talked about and cut the bottom layer straight across which I specifically said I didn't like ("I don't like a blunt cut look; it has to be point cut" were my exact words). But he point cut the top layers and very unevenly. So it looks like two different hairstyles and it flips out at the ends which I HATE. He left my hair wet and said I didn't book a blow-dry so there was no time left for my hair to be dried and styled. I left the salon and styled it at home which is when I discovered the true damage. I'm sure that butcher would only make it worse if I wanted it fixed. I have thin hair but large quantities of it so I run into this issue a lot. I show pictures, explain how I normally style it etc etc. But I still end up in this situation every third or fourth haircut. Shouldn't a stylist know how to deal with the natural texture of the hair!? Shouldn't they notice the client's overall look and realize that if they didn't come in with their hair looking frumpy and unflattering that they don't want to walk out that way? Or worse yet that people don't want to feel downright ugly after a haircut. Also why can't a stylist cut the hair the same way twice? Best haircut I ever had, I told the stylist to do the same next visit and got a totally different result. I'm sick of growing out stylists' mistakes and feeling unattractive for weeks and weeks while I do it. Another stylist I had raised her prices twice in the last 12 months by quite a lot and stopped giving great cuts, instead I ended up with hair that was just 'ok' for a small fortune.

Buzzed my head for the summer and regretted it ever since. Barbers and stylists could not understand the concept of letting the length on top grow out. Went to the same barbershop every 2 weeks all they did was just copy the same haircut really not letting the length grow. Then I went to a stylist who didn't know how to use their clipper guards. Now I just knock down the back and sides every 2 weeks. Hoping to find a hair stylist that can use clipper guards. Going to grow out my length into a man bun to hopefully help.
If you go to a barber or stylist...just le them know not to touch the top.

I followed my stylist from one salon to another. I have been going to her for years. She went from a larger commercial salon to another that is a fast in and out salon. My first cut at her new salon I noticed she doesn't show the care she used to and the second cut she literally chopped my hair up. Everything about it is uneven. I can't and won't go back. I called the salon for her the following day and she was off that day. I was invited to go back in and have someone else fix my hair, but I won't go back. Never. Luckily I'm retired and I now have more patience to wait for it to grow out a bit before I find a professional to give me some shape. Ugh!

I wish I could show you the picture. I asked for a shoulder length long layers and got from the ears back 3 inch long strands and by the front of f the ears she left that shoulder length. Plus around the back and bottom she left that shoulder length as well. She kept calling it a messy shag. I had boob length hair. Wanted shoulder length hair and agreed that I needed to cut 3 inches off to get it up the shoulder length. I NEVER SAID CUT EVERYTHING 3 INCHES LONG AND LEAVE ME A TAD LOL F SCRAGGLY HAIR JIST TO SAY SOMETHING IS TOUCHING MY SHOULDER. I am beside myself with anger, depression, mortified. I'm a man and she gave me a woman's haircut. You really can't even have an excuse for that. Give them creative freedom and they butcher you. I have very low standards.

I have an undercut where the top is long on top. I recently got my hair cut and the hairdresser cut into the top of my head on one side leaving the parting of one side looking incredible different to the other and when I style my hair to the side now it looks incredibly thin. I’m currently trying to grow the area which they’ve cut off back do you have any advice which could help?
This isn’t advice but I have the same hairstyle you have except they absolutely obliterated the back of my head and now there’s nothing left back there☠️

This exact thing just happened to me, I wanted to keep my length but just trim the sides and back (kind of like a 90’s haircut) since I have a middle part, and she sort of did what I wanted… ON MY RIGHT SIDE, she just decided to do a modern haircut on the left side of my head for no reason and now there’s nothing I can do to fix it

With all due respect what most barbers fail to know is that I’m not trying to get the top “even”. I end up looking like a pineapple. I EVEN SHOW THEM A PIC OF ME and they still end up cutting too short. I even say “hey maybe half an inch” and they proceed to take off 2 inches. It’s just unreal.

You could try an middle part maybe make an custom wavy type of hairstyle with an not so strong hair wax

The owner and only employee of the salon cut my hair it's wrecked, ruined and destroyed. And I don't understand how the last time she cut my hair she gave me a really cute cut I loved it and so did everyone else. This time she butchered my hair so bad that nobody can fix it, it's going to take a year or more to grow it out and it's not even going to grow out even.
I'm getting comments like you look like you escaped from a mental hospital, your hair looks like a hedgehog, you should never let a 6 year old cut your hair! Did you cut your hair yourself while looking in the mirror? because that's exactly what it looks like and I'm thinking that's exactly what she did when she cut my hair she wasn't cutting my hair I think she was watching herself cut my hair in a mirror because there's no other explanation for this haircut.
This is the worst haircut that I've ever had in my entire life and I'm 64 years old and today I'm going to wash and attempt to style it myself and it's going to be an epic disaster and I'm going to go back to her and show it to her and try to maintain my composure and calmly explain the very obvious problem with my hair and ask for my money back.
And then I'm going to file a complaint with the State board this situation needs to be investigated and this woman needs to lose her license and be put out of business if you can't cut hair then you shouldn't be in the business of cutting hair and you most definitely shouldn't be providing any kind of other services to the public.
I can't imagine what would happen to anyone who went to her to have their hair bleached or have any other kind of a chemical process done on their hair they would most likely walk in with a full head of hair and walk out with their hair falling out if they didn't walk out completely bald.
