Part 2
ESCAPE FROM THE MOUNTAIN
The final night in a snowstorm mentally preparing to pack up in the morning and walking off the mountain. Digging a tent out by hand takes some doing! A snow shovel will be the best tool in this situation whereas I just had patience and positivity but fitness also helped.
Stay safe out there as winter can be harsh and unforgiving so be prepared with the right gear.

watching you pack up blue in a pooch was ideal because you were going to dig out the pegs/stakes and tent so time would have been long. so blue would not get cold or frozen that was a nice bit of comfort for him. love this kind of tent liveing, like you said being in a cacoon so comforting. food/book/movies/shelter/sound of wind/dog, ah the life. even being out side is heaven to me in that kind of weather. i'm a cold liveing person.

It was strangely very calm up there and I loved every minute 😊
I experienced my first white out this year on the tops of the Dales after storm Arwen. It's so disorientating, had to rely on GPS to navigate. I can see why you enjoy this kind of thing so much.

I’ve been in Switzerland snowboarding in a complete white out and I was the last on the mountain. It was a slow steady down following the Piste edge markers which occasionally I had track back to. GPS can be an amazing eye 👍
I have just watched both videos part one and two This was truly epic What a team you and blue are and you both have got to be the best that’s out there on You tube Throughly enjoyed both videos A Massive well done and well executed showing how wild camping should be and done safely in the most high endurance of conditions

Aw I loved this , we (Hubby, 2 dogs and I) are about to embark on our first wild camping trip , we’re certainly not as brave as you lol something nice and easy for us 😊, because I unfortunately have terminal cancer , but wild camping is definitely on my bucket list . Thank you for sharing, and Blue is adorable, our dog (rocky) loves the snow too but he’s a husky / Alaskan malamute lol xx
Keep nailing that bucket list! I hope to inspire people to get out and adventure whilst their bodies and brains can. Often people wait until it’s too late and it’s people like yourself who truly can inspire and spread that positive can do it attitude. Total respect to you and definitely get out camping with those dogs.

Such amazing videos. You never really looked worried. Going out there by choice, knowing what to bring with you to stay safe, and seeing the beauty in all that you saw must have been exhilarating. Having Blue with you for companionship was helpful I’m sure. I feel sorry for the wildlife that live in that area. But I’m sure they know where to hunker down to keep safe and warm. Well thought out and prepared, just goes to show the difference a few miles can make from relatively stable conditions in the valley to hard conditions up the mountain. Great videos really enjoyed both of them, great advice.

I once watched a couple with two kids head up blencathra. Ok it was a decent day with rain forecast, they were carrying a picnic basket and an umbrella, the wife was in high heeled shoes, we did a lot of fellwalking then and carried the relevant equipment, frightening!!!!!

At 60 years of age I’m probably not tough enough or strong enough anymore (health issues) to try something like this, but it’s great watching you and Blue getting stuck in. I was up around the Keswick area visiting family in the summer great part of the world.
Curious about the temperatures outside at night plus wind chill v inside the tent do you bother to measure it at all?
Anyway, a great watch, nearest I get to an adrenaline fix is riding my motorbike these days 🤣. Keep the vids coming👍
Well I’m glad you are appreciating our adventures. The difference outside to inside was vast. I’m guessing the windchill would be -15 out big inside probably sat in 5 degrees. I’ll test next time👍👍👍

Like you said the guys that climb Everest , K2 and all rest of the big mountains are amazing when you think they have little oxygen and experience extreme cold, snow blindness, exhaustion, and risk getting avalanched. Beyond words! I climbed mount blanc 21 years ago at night and that was probably the hardest thing I’d done, but we have to try these adventures. You are living the life and lucky to be doing these adventures so keep going and thanks for sharing them with us and stay safe. I think blue is a qualified mountaineer now, he should get a medal.

My Australian Shepherd/Blue Merle Collie would sit outside in the snow in -20f in Michigan, she liked it and did not want to come in the house. Absolutley loved very cold and bad weather and wanted to be out in it.
Yes and a few people have said I’m cruel! Certain dog breeds like collies are so hardy they need the stimulation! 👍👍👍
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Yes, sorry people are saying you are cruel, I guess I made my comment because I felt people would make that observation. They are just misguided, in their heads they think they mean well, just not too good at lateral thinking. I guarantee Michigan is colder than anywheree/anytime in the UK (having lived in both) and people walk their dogs in weather colder than Blue was in. If people did not walk their dogs here because it was cold and snowing they would be thought of as lazy and cruel. Now I did have a Pitbull/Lab mix and she was only happy above 50 deg F, but she had a very thin coat.
Yes totally! I think it’s cruel only walking dogs on a pavement for a few minutes a day. Blue is one lucky dog getting to explore like this. Thanks my friend 👊

Great vid! I love the way you interact with Blue, clearly he is family. Nowhere on this planet will you find greater love and loyalty than from a pet. You can tell he is a very happy dog and not just a prop you dragged along for views.

Saw some of the comments on the previous video about concern for the dog. But I mean, you can so clearly see that the two of them have a really special bond. I couldn’t in a million years see the owner - who obviously loves his dog to bits, deliberately putting it in any risk it couldn’t handle or not having the dogs well being in mind.
