This brings back memories of when I carried mail back in the East of the US in the winter. Some days the wind would be so strong, it would be very difficult to walk into it. Add some snow or icy rain, and it felt like pins and needles hitting my face. It would be so cold and windy that my eyes would begin to freeze shut. A lot of things would be going through my mind. Like, "Why am I out here in this torturous weather, is this job worth the risk of frostbite? My exposed skin would begin to feel like plastic, as the top layer of my skin became so cold that there wasn't any sensation or touch. The weather was so terrible that barely anyone would be outside. The void of any human or animal activities made it feel like some sort of apocalyptic scene in a movie. But I pushed on. Often into evening hours as it began to get even colder. All that would be out there was me and the howling wind. With seemingly an endless load of mail yet to be delivered, I would think that if I survived today, I would be faced with yet another day, week, and months to come. Now, in retirement, I often dream that I am out delivering the mail in such extreme weather. As in dreams, it feels like there is no end to the suffering. Nearly 50 years since I became a City Letter Carrier, or mailman as the public referred to us as, I now suffer the aches and pains, my mother told me would be the result of working in extreme weather. Having a small pension and all of my children had what they needed growing up at home, was it all worth the pain and suffering? Could I have done something else? I actually don't know. It takes a special kind of person to do that job. Maybe I was that person.
What a brave man you were 👍 sacrificing your health to ensure mail was delivered. You were obviously the sort of man who went the extra mile, congratulations from the UK 👏

Would love to wake up to that view every day.
Surviving adverse weather conditions, prevailing over difficult topographical features and the mental and physical challenges associated with outdoor adventuring provides not only confidence in ones own abilities but a perspective in our everyday life that few things are insurmountable. Being in nature also bestows an appreciation of its beauty and bounty and keeps us in harmony with life itself. Thank you for sharing the vistas and experiences you face on your journeys.
I agree my friend👍. We all need to ‘feel’ more in life and get back to nature
Thank you for such a genuine well made video; your audio is superb, given the ambient conditions. As a consequence of your endeavours, I'm all fired up to emulate them in sunny Scotland once the snaws away. I'm a motor biker.😊
So happy you were not flown down! Bestto Blue and thank you!!!!
Been watching your adventure from Tasmania , Australia 🇦🇺 🙂
All that noise from the wind I wouldn’t sleep omg wicked freaking out just watching then to take the tent down in that storm. Your videos are great by the way !!!

It’s just good to show that it can happen and it might give people an idea of how to cope in it👍👍👍
I would not have believed it without seeing it. WOW!
I think Blue dog feigned injury when he saw the weather forecast! Fantastic video. Shows how good the tent is! X
😂😂😂 he’s not so daft
Fantastic scenery and storm camping experience! I imagined Blue cosy and snug on his favourite rug while you were storm wrestling. 😁

Pitching ur tent right close to that drop in those winds would have me terrified all night 😮😮. Love these videos!
Must be one strong tent to withstand that 😮
