I'm surprised not in a hilleberg tent😂 seems like everyone that goes to places like this has .... What tent is this because has to be some of the worst weather I've ever seen in a tent that's not 😂 .and you got the dog with you makes it the most effort video I've ever seen
In my younger days I always wanted to camp in those conditions but having seen this video I’m glad I didn’t but you had everything under control. Thanks for sharing this epic video and I’m looking forward to part two. Blue is my hero.
How delightful. It's one thing when I'm in a tent and it's raining and I'm staying dry. But it's something else entirely when you are in a windy snow storm. My one daughter really likes you because you don't "ever say any bad words." And my other daughter loves " that he's so nice to his dog Blue." So big Thumbs Up from all of us in Colorado. Just the best.
Wow! You weren’t kidding when you said this next video would be epic! Brilliant video, real eye opener as to conditions on top of a mountain. Looks like Blue thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing this epic experience. Stay safe and look forward to part 2 👍
Don't think I've said "holy s**t" or "f**king hell" so much during a wild camping video in my life 😂 Absolutely wonderful lunacy from you and blue and I've got to confess that I'm actually really proud of my old tent 😂 Me and the kids will be buying you a "coffee" on the back of this for sure. If anyone is earning some financial help towards growing their channel it's you guys! Can't wait til part 2. Stay safe 🙂
😂😂😂Cheers mate and thank you for the tent! It definitely stood strong and proud in some hellish conditions. It’s a decent tent, shape and size for me and blue 👍👍👍
Great to see someone who knows what they’re doing making videos of adventures like this without the nannies needlessly moaning about how reckless it is! I’m looking forward to seeing how you dig than tent out in Part 2.
Some of the moaners on previous videos telling him he needs to buy a Hilleberg for these conditions. Any good quality tunnel tent ( or tipi if you don't mind the snow drifts) will be perfectly fine. The most important thing is knowing what you're doing.
Now then Al, I'm looking forward to the second part. That just looked bloody awesome! Much admiration and respect, you clearly know what you're doing up there. Bluey just takes it all in with those deep thoughtful eyes. Wonderful stuff. Take care ATB. Mick😤👊
Another brilliant video well done Bushman 👏 You are inspiring many of us present armchair mountaineers and giving me lots of kit advice to consider. Just keep bloody safe please as I'd like to see more of these. ⛺ 🏔
All your videos are great but the last few have had an extra edge to them! Extreme high winds, Striding in the dark and now this, truly epic stuff mate, and all very safe. The look on Blues face the first time you got out the tent was a very rare look indeed, even on your face, you both understood the necessity to get back in pretty quick. The second time out the tent looked pretty perfect, when Blue is jumping, that's a good indicator that all is well, not that you need a clue when all is good. Even a bit windy, the place looked amazing, look forward to the next vid. Stunning job again mate, really badass💪😀..🤘
Wow thanks mate. I’m glad I’m hitting the spot. I’ve not had any extreme conditions since I started the channel so hopefully over winter I can show some cool stuff. 👍👍👍
Now that's what I call fun. Your dog cracks me up, he's totally into extreme conditions. Get yourself a SnowClaw. It's a packable backcountry shovel. ❄️❄️❄️ ⛺
Blue wasn’t playing around with the snow this time! He was let me back in the tent! I have to admit I have watched this particular video multiple times. Just love the wind blowing the snow! Totally a white out but beautiful!
Most respect! I watch alot of you tubers doing this but by far this is the 1 of the best cold/winter camps I've watched..... you have some big balls!! 😄🤣👍👍 and so does blue 🐕
Hi I've watched many of your adventures but this is my favourite so far. Blue looked as happy as child on Christmas morning in that snow. Great to see a like minded guy who enjoys the challenge of different and difficult conditions. Camped up near Esk Hause in Jan 21 in the snow but wasn't anywhere near as bad as this video. Looking forward to part2 atb
Amazing video , loved the way you stayed calm and hunkered down , also like you said "a snow shovel would have made a big difference " , best video I have seen in ages.
Dogs have an extremely acute sense of smell which makes it impossible for them to not know our mood and emotional state from the smell on our breath of the hormones our bodies release. They are also acute readers of our body language and our patterns of behaviour. They know for example from a preceding action what rhe subsequent action is likely to be. If your dog is at your side through every waking moment, he will read you like book. That's the relationship Blue has with his boss, and the one my goldie has with me.
Two weeks ago after the 1st storm of the year, I'm not doing that again. Queue Storm Barra, Al, where's my tent I'm off out 😉😂 Brilliant video Al and good to see someone who is fully prepared and knows what they are doing. Looking forward to part 2 and the escape from the mountain.
I was just waiting for you to trek back through the snow after playing with the 🐕 dog, and suddenly say to the camera..."I can't find the tent ⛺! " 😂 Since a 5-year old kid, I've loved being out experiencing wild weather...and now at 64, I still love it...the wilder the storm the better. It simply makes you feel happy and keeps the boy inside me alive. Viewing your short film today, spending a few days on top of a mountain 🗻 in storm Barra, really shows what living outdoors in rough weather is like. It exudes the awesome power of nature... balanced with both yours and Blue's sheer enjoyment of just being there together. A positive outlook is all it normally takes to survive in most situations. Loved it! Subscribed. 😉 One short note regarding the ⛺ tent: I think the Fjallraven needs a few adjustable air vents higher up the walls to allow circulation in these situations to aid release of trapped air. Using double layer of poles I think was a really positive idea. So many modern tents have thin, lightweight yet very flimsy poles that just can't cope with severe storm gusts. Right....on to part 2! 😉
Awesome mate! Welcome and thank you. You obviously understand the feeling you get from getting out there 👍👍👍. Loosing the tent is the part when things can get dangerous. I was quite aware of that so kept it within reach 😉
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Judging by your positive attitude, I'm sure you'd have been fine if the tent collapsed. Excellent video, I felt it...it looks like Blue is enjoying this weather.. Best video I've seen on RUclips under these conditions, I mean you really took your subscribers for an adventure, this one is going to be hard to beat
I never want to here that you or your dog died. I know with experience you know your boundaries but mother nature does not. If I had any money I would purchase you both the best of everything to keep you safe. My dog on similar adventures use to wear a full body jacket. (inclusive of legs) I only felt happy if his mouth was slightly open as I new he was warm. If a dog is not panting in those conditions he could be losing heat. Stay safe and good to see your dog has a life many people will never have. Respect.
Thanks. We are very much prepared with some of the best kit going which definitely reduces the risks involved. Luckily we were bred to be hardy and nurtured the same. We both love the adventure 👍
The contrast of what’s outside the tent during the white out, and what’s inside is incredible the weather turned fairly violent but you handled it like a true pro. Your dog is just the best companion and he knows when to chill out in his own sleeping bag brilliant 👍🇬🇧

Epic watch, god I was on the edge of my seat lol, blue is Totaly mans best friend and to see him enjoy that snow brought a chuckle to my day. You are one brave man.AWSOME 😊🐺
One word of caution for novice hikers… Keeping your sense of direction is very important in conditions like these. It’s easy to get turned around or lost because your mental landmarks are constantly changing in appearance do to the weather and snowfall. Please understand this is expert mode…
Wow I've been waiting forever for somebody to have the cassava's to try this I never thought about the weight of the snow on the tent. Great vid bro. Very brave
That was awesome.must be a bril tent. The snow protected you didnt it. Loved seeing Blue play in the snow. One guy I watched few yrs ago dug down to pitch the tent like you and he built an wall of snow on three sides. Look forward to part two
Almost need some type of line to find your way back to the tent in a white out . Heard old family stories from Minnesota winter time where they had a rope from the farmhouse to the barn just forty yards alway to avoid getting lost during these white outs . People have frozen to death just feet from their houses in these blinding storms . Totally disoriented.
Definitely! It’s so easy to get turned around then you walk in the wrong direction. A tent light can help but only just in that for an extra few yards. 👍👍👍
This is the 2nd time of watch one of your videos I'm already hooked mate i think what you are doing is amazing, I love the lakes and your efforts to show people how amazing it is but also how important it is to be safe, best wishes to you and blue from David

Loving the snow ❄️ amazing Alan I bet you wished you’d brought your snow shovel really good advise shown again I can’t wait to get out in the snow and do my first snow wild camp I got a shovel last week thanks again pal 👏👍
If you're ever out on this kind if weather again, do you think you could record a few hours of the weather noise maybe even on a loop of batteries would be a problem? I love falling asleep to this
Fantastic video again nothing fazes you, got to admit bushman ,you and blue have become my number 1 watch, you have took that spot from a another RUclips man who is awesome, but you surpass him, can’t wait for part two mate 👍

@@BUSHMANandBLUE nice. I play a Dean, had it about 15 years! I'm a singer songwriter myself
Epic watch, god I was on the edge of my seat lol, blue is Totaly mans best friend and to see him enjoy that snow brought a chuckle to my day. You are one brave man.AWSOME 😊🐺
Thanks Tracey. I’m glad we can entertain you for a short while 😊
One word of caution for novice hikers…
Keeping your sense of direction is very important in conditions like these. It’s easy to get turned around or lost because your mental landmarks are constantly changing in appearance do to the weather and snowfall. Please understand this is expert mode…
Agreed mate! 👍👍👍
I for sure would advice knowledge of a compass.. because when you also loose your electronics and you can't rely on your landmarks indeed..
What an amazing video 👍 looking forward to part 2 😊
Wow I've been waiting forever for somebody to have the cassava's to try this I never thought about the weight of the snow on the tent. Great vid bro. Very brave
I’ll get out regardless 😉😬
That was awesome.must be a bril tent. The snow protected you didnt it. Loved seeing Blue play in the snow. One guy I watched few yrs ago dug down to pitch the tent like you and he built an wall of snow on three sides. Look forward to part two
Yes a wall is a good way of protecting yourself. They do it on Everest and other high altitude expeditions. 👍
Some serious snow there Al , can’t wait for part 2 . Top man ! ☃️⛺️☃️
Thanks Keith. I can’t wait for more snow!👍👍👍
This is the 2nd time of watch one of your videos I'm already hooked mate i think what you are doing is amazing, I love the lakes and your efforts to show people how amazing it is but also how important it is to be safe, best wishes to you and blue from David
Cheers Dave I’m glad you understand and appreciate my work. I hope it helps people enjoy their own adventures 👍
This channel is so under rated. It's the best of it's kind on youtube.
😊 thanks mate appreciated. I just have to keep there now 😉😂
Awesome can’t wait for part deux ❄️❄️❄️☃️☃️
"The entire British empire was built on cups of tea" ~ Nick Moran, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"
😂 it definitely is true!
knowledge of the right equipment is paramount, confidence in that equipment and yourself, planning and organisation of your trip, then the rest is pure fun,
above all stay safe,
great channel, you probably inspire hobby campers how it can go so bad,. for the sake of a few extra quid,
Yes I think it makes people think twice before going out with insufficient kit👌👍
I would say those conditions are a little more than extreme. I would call them life threatening
Potentially but most things in life can kill you especially travel and disease. None up there😬
Loving the snow ❄️ amazing Alan I bet you wished you’d brought your snow shovel really good advise shown again I can’t wait to get out in the snow and do my first snow wild camp I got a shovel last week thanks again pal 👏👍
A shovel is life saving especially in an emergency to quickly dig a hole to get out of the weather. Enjoy mate!👍👍👍
If you're ever out on this kind if weather again, do you think you could record a few hours of the weather noise maybe even on a loop of batteries would be a problem? I love falling asleep to this
😂it is quite calming 👌
Fantastic video again nothing fazes you, got to admit bushman ,you and blue have become my number 1 watch, you have took that spot from a another RUclips man who is awesome, but you surpass him, can’t wait for part two mate 👍
👍👍👍thanks mate I hope I’m not treading on toes👊
And yes nothing really phases me really 🤔. I definitely wouldn’t get on a stage and talk or sing. It’s taken a bit to film myself 😂😂😂
This channel needs more subscriber 💞💕💞
It’s a slow game mate but keep sharing to help the cause👊👊👊
That is one heck of a tent. Fjallraven should use this video in a commercial.
Yes it’s time they recognised how much I’ve done for them over the past months. Definitely stands out in a video like this!👍
