Cheetahs can be addicting. I started out with an 81FS which I bought as a test mule for .32 ACP handloads. I never could get good velocity data using my Kel-Tec P-32 and concluded it was due to incomplete powder burn in the short barrel resulting in debris interfering with the chronograph. Later I got an 84FS, then two 81BBs that were Italian prison guard surplus. I bought an 84BB barrel from Numrich and converted one to .380. As it turns out both the 81BB and 84BB use the same recoil springs along with the 84FS. The 81FS comes with a lighter recoil spring and a looser chamber presumably to accommodate American .32 ACP which is loaded lighter and has slightly fatter bullets than European 7.65 Browning ball. The 81 and 84 (no letters) also have the same springs as each other but are smaller diameter than the later guns (0.215 inch guide rod vs. .240 inch). Later I got an 86 with a tip-up barrel. It uses the same magazine as the 85. The Girsan MC 14T is an updated double-stack version of the 86. Good to learn that the old barrels fit the 80X and about Allegheny Arms.

where did you buy the .32acp conversion?
