I think this is what happens to me. It’s happened twice now, once on December 9,2022 and once today July 17,2024. It’s very short but within that time my brain thinks “okay I’m sleeping, wait why am I sleeping, I’m supposed to be doing ___” and then my vision gradually comes back. Both times witnesses have said that I was kind of shaking on the floor, and the first time it happened they said that my eyes were kind of rolling back (the first time the people were closer to me, so it might’ve happened the second time) I went to the doctor the first time it happened and they couldn’t explain what it was, so thank you for this!

This is so eerily similar to my experience. I always think I’m being woke up from sleep , and my chest hurts and has a lot of pressure and I can’t really see or move and I’m trying to figure out what I’m waking up from and why I can’t move or speak, I also scream for help every time and remember none of it. I spoke to a dr about it but they kind of blew it off as a low tolerance to pain, even though I’ve experienced much greater pain than the times I passed out. My wife says I convulse and shake and snore

I have never seen anyone talk about partial syncope!! I had an episode about a year ago where I lost my vision & sight while at a store, additionally I lost the ability to hold things or stand. I was fully conscious and muttering for my boyfriend who had just walked away. So happy to see it discussed

    • @ellaneruda
      @ellaneruda Год назад +4

My doctor called it “pre-syncope.” I lost vision and muscle tone (fell to the floor) during my worst episode but I still was awake in my mind so I didn’t fully faint. My vasovagal episodes start with severe nausea then ear ringing, then cold sweat, then loss of muscle tone. I am actually somewhat “lucky” because i have such an extended prodromal period. Apparently my sister just hits the floor with little to no warning. My mom has it too. She used to get very faint at the sight of blood especially when she was in high school.

Once had a Vasovagal Syncope episode a few years ago when I was 19. Woke up one morning not late, but severely behind schedule for work. My mother came in yelling for me to get up and ready, as I was. I began getting into my factory uniform and literally the next thing I knew I was face-down in my room's corner screaming with a stinging sensation all over my body as I was sweating profusely. Called out, got checked out, head scan, etc. Came back as Vasovagal Syncope.

I was walking a few steps away from the doors and walked inside to my legs feeling like they were going numb, I knew this was bad so I immediately started walking towards a wall and luckily I sat on the ground before my eyes darkened. I was told to go upstairs after I had some eyesight coming back, but when I started walking up the stairs everything turned from blue to yellow, it was so weird but I was near my friends room to quickly lay down 😂 jeez that’s scary watching someone else go through it!

Yeah so I’ve gotten therapy for it because I ended up in the hospital feeling heart attack like symptoms. They did all the tests but diagnosed me with panic disorder and the obvious anxiety disorder. I’ve seen a psychologist and I’m on Zoloft and when it gets really bad, I have Ativan. All in all though it really calms down to that mind-body connection. You have to really remember to breathe. It’s when you start hyperventilating (without knowing) that you’re in trouble. It’s a never-ending healing journey.

I would feel an aura coming but I would sit down immediately and have to talk to myself so it could stop. I would have to close my eyes. this has happened to me just yesterday and all of the nurses surrounded me because i had apparently fallen over into one of them as my eyes rolled back into my head they said i started shaking very rapidly. in my own head directly before this everyone’s voice had started to echo and then boom lights out there was this connection between being dead and sleeping that i felt as a movie started playing in my head. meanwhile the doctors said that during this time my eyes were open but my entire iris had turned black. soon back to me my eyes had shrunk and then about five seconds later i threw up and woke up at the same time the weird thing is that i can remember that i had this “dream” about a movie but not the movie happening i was very unaware of certain things and i had no idea how long i’d been out. after what happened yesterday i have been very forgetful and can’t remember things in the past and it is still hard for me to try to tell people things becuase i’ll forget that too. i’ve also realized that when i stand i tend to get dizzy normally that doesn’t happen

I had just consumed iodine contrast and when they pushed saline through my i.v, I started experiencing the worst nausea. I told them I was gonna pass out, and I did a few seconds later. They said my eyes rolled in the back of my head, and I started convulsing like this, with my hands drawn up towards my chest. I came to some seconds later, but I felt like I dreamt about Elvis Presley and he was telling me to come back lol. As I awakened I felt hot and cold in flashes and was sweating on my arms and had the most extreme ringing in the ears. I also broke out in a rash on my knuckles, elbows and scalp. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I thought I died.

I’m 44 and have had this condition from the age of 12. The loss of memory is very apparent as now after experiencing well over 20 full episodes of unconsciousness, that representing only a third of these events, with the remaining third being partial episodes and not drifting to the abyss. The common factor of each episode is the very present loss of long term memory. At this point in my life I have very little memory of my past. What I have begun to notice more recently is that I am beginning to realize I am I am not retaining recent or new memories. A very unsettling byproduct of this condition.

@@mrsdragonite I had a similar experience back in May. I was in the passenger seat while my girlfriend was driving. Had the sweats and got light headed/weak. Told her I don't feel good. Also had a dream like/de ja vu like vision before I went out. I thought I saw James Hetfield from Metallica with long hair and the handle bar mustache haha. I went out and my girlfriend said the same thing about the hands clenched to my chest. I had woken up no more than 5 seconds later a little confused but knew I had passed out. I had bad nausea after as well. The worrying thing was the Deja Vu and I also had urinary incontinence, which are more seizure related. Went to the ER and they ran blood work, EKG, CT scan, and all normal. Diagnosed it as Vasovagal Syncope. Doing a EEG and MRI this month to dig a little deeper. Haven't had an episode since (fingers crossed). Hope the tests come back with good news! Hope you are well too!

You might find this information helpful. If, in fact, your vagus nerve is responsible for your condition, the good news is that there are exercises you can do to stimulate and strengthen it. Having a healthy, diverse gut microbiome helps as well, since the gut microbiome communicates with the brain via the vagus nerve.

Just last night my 25 year old baby brother was sitting at the table with the family, all of us about to play a game of Yahtzee, and for the first time in his life had this experience. Thankfully we were all there and helped gently ease him to the floor as he leaned far back in his chair, straightening his body out with his eyes staring blankly and mouth agape. He didn't convulse, just stiffened up so bad that we could hardly adjust his body as he slid under the table, so we had to move the table instead. It only lasted 30 seconds for him, but for us it felt like a lifetime. I immediately tried to call 911 because I thought we were seeing him have a heart attack or burst aneurism, a million things ran through my head. But he came to himself quickly and was able to function normally, recollecting prior events and speaking normally, which relieved us tremendously. His arms hurt from tensing up still, but we are thankful that it wasn't as serious as it first seemed.

I came here for more info on seizures/ synscope. In the last 6 years I’ve had 4 episodes, 3 of which an ambulance was called one was at the dr surgery which was the last one and the dr labeled it vasovagal synscope. But it seems that is more so just fainting. Every episode I’ve had I have lost conscious and I’m not sure for how long but long enough for someone to call an ambulance. Losing consciousness would also appear as fainting. I also have violent trashing of my limbs and eyes roll back into head which to me seems more like a seizer. Each time I’ve woken disorientated and have no clue what had just happened and feeling awful afterwards. One time I lost control of my bladder, woke up and started running in a panic. The very first time this happened was when I was a child I ran down a hill, tripped and hit my head on a rock. Every time I’ve had an episode anyone that is present has been in fear I was going to die. I haven’t yet seen a video similar to what I experience. As for the trigger it seems to be under high stress/ injury but I’ve had many injuries where nothing happened. One time I fainted during a tattoo (4th one and didn’t eat beforehand) but nothing happened, I’ve had hundreds of tattoos since with no problems.

According to everyone at the tournament last time I went I started seizing on the floor and shaking violently. In my head I had a vivid feeling like I was falling so that’s why I could feel myself moving out of panic of falling. When I woke up I was initially surprised that I wasn’t in bed, then apparently started laughing maniacally but I can’t remember laughing.

This was happening to me about once or twice a year in the last 10 to 15 years. I definitely noticed a pattern in that it would happen after I have had some alcohol even if it’s not a lot. Then when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I start to feel the fainting sensation While I’m urinating, and the only way to stop it is to stop urinating by force. It’s like my blood pressure is dropping fast. That worked for many years. I would just slowly lay on the floor and wait. Unfortunately, the last time it happened I fell flat on my face, ended up in the ER with 9 stitches on my forehead. Luckily, I was not wearing my eyeglasses at the time I fell. I stopped drinking since then. It hasn’t happened again it’s been three years. One thing I noticed is the starting position on the video is almost the same as sitting on the toilet. Look closely how they designed the mat. The legs are positioned lower. Now I’m wondering if maybe this happens when the toilet is too low and perhaps having a higher toilet is safer? Maybe something about blood pooling in the hips? I don’t know… Something in the body that happens in that particular semi squatting position. I usually sit while urinating but it has happened also when I’m standing. I also noticed I’m easily prone to convulsions. Like when I have a fever that’s a little high I get convulsions. I am skinny with very little body fat, it feels like I’m freezing.

Then bacame random feeling thoughts episodes of clumsiness, idiot like behaviour and without reason so i continues to learn physics, science, history, and everything i can with over the top excitability and joy, later learning i would develop tonic clonic seizures, generalised idiopathic epilepsy, constant unsteadiness and focal, and absence seizures bad memory and feeling lost whilst in the middle of a super strong thought... Except the harm you can get from hitting the pavement by your head, of course. Don't trust papers about "choking games" -- the goal of such papers is to alarm the society about dangerous teen games, but they make no difference between really deadly playing with a rope around the neck and making yourself faint by breathing exercises. Last thing is only dangerous with injures from uncontrollable falls and for people already having serious heart problems.

Since this happened is it like going to keep happening or ??? Should I visit a doctor specifically for this ?

any amount of time works to an extent, but since they seem to be out for a longer time and are twitching quite a bit, id say probably 1 minute or a minute and a half

I had just consumed iodine contrast for a CT scan yesterday, and when they pushed saline through my i.v, I started experiencing the worst nausea. I told them I was gonna pass out, and I did few seconds later. They said my eyes rolled in the back of my head, and I started convulsing like this, with my hands drawn up towards my chest. I came to some seconds later, but I felt like I dreamt about Elvis Presley and he was telling me to come back lol. As I awakened I felt hot and cold in flashes and was sweating on my arms. I had the most extreme ringing in the ears. I also broke out in a rash on my knuckles, elbows and scalp. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I thought I died.

Doing research because last night I fell down twice and one of the 2 times i must have hit my head because I have a bump. While I must have been twitching, I pulled something in my back. I don't remember being able to see while it was happening until I was starting to come back to, but I could feel myself thrashing on my bedroom carpet, but could not control or stop it. After the first one, there was about 25 seconds between feeling alright and then starting to swoop back out of it and then I went down in the bathroom on the tile. But I remember thinking why the f is this happening right now and why can't I stop and then I would come to slowly. I went to urgent care this morning and they couldn't notice anything wrong other than the bump so they said if you wanna further it, get some Bloodwork, but you seem neurologically fine. I didn't know you can have a mini seizure just from fainting. , It's just the body passing out and freaking out. The worst part about this in my opinion is not knowing the cause of it.

so sitting at a dinner with my family i pass out and have a seizure on the floor my dad held me up till i woke up and was taken to the hospital mind you this is my first time this ever happened to me. Long story short i was taking linsooprol for highblood pressure and hydrochlor. a water pill i was 250lbs when i began these medications i started going to the gym 2 years later i went down to 200lbs and turns out the medications were causing my blood pressure to drop because i didnt need them anymore being that i lost weight. No wonder in my days of being 200 lbs i would feel weak basically they were doing me harm , why am i writing this because there might be someone out there on the same grind working out but on these type of meds just a heads up

Idk what i have as it wasnt epileptic. I stand and then have a right side attack that my head turns to one side my arm comes up to my chest twisting all about. Im aware the whole time and dont always fall. Yet it happens numerous times a day when standing or walking after standing for a while.

I have complex partial epileptic seizure. And during lengthy walk or standing I'll get this sudden blackout like a second or two. But I didn't get fainted. Just like someone turning off my brain switch for a couple of second there. Then afterwards its like my brain would slowly regained consciousness and back to its normal conditions. But still the vertigo and dizziness still there.

Hypoxic Syncope is induced due to deep breaths in and quick breaths (without completely exhaling) out, as well as using the valsalva maneuver.

this happened to me once, but i was standing up. usually when i get up off the couch, my vision gets pretty dark and i get that weird euphoric feeling. but just a few months ago i got up off the couch, got the usual tunnel vision, but then i started twitching and gyrating uncontrollably. i managed to keep my balance despite being like half conscious, lol.
