Love your tutorials. Going through your animation posing one on udemy ATM with environment 3d modelling bought and queued up next. You are a natural born teacher and I appreciate all the work that goes into these videos ❤
In rigify if you're wanting to delete sections and are not sure you can use the add samples option to find the same part - eg arm - and use that to show you what you're safe to delete on a section-by-section basis
I am really enjoying these bite-sized videos. I have your character classes but haven't had a chance to go through them all yet since it takes some time, especially since I'm following along and have to keep pausing and sometimes rewinding if I miss somerhing. It's nice to be able to see some quick examples of your work.
Awesome. I like this new series. More please. I love the approach you take making the feet and hands. I tried this for the Ogre in the course you mentioned here. Looks much better and has fingers that can be rigged for animation. ❤
Do you have any videos that show how to retopo an object made this way (so that it works better in game engines)? I like the technique of using multiple objects to make something complicated, but in the end you have object faces inside the object which would need to be culled out by the engine.
Nice job on the tutorials. I saw that you open the characters mouth while sculpting. I found out they hard way that if you don't do this, it's almost impossible to weight paint areas that are too close together. I had issues with the bones controlling the upper part of the mouth, moved the lower and the other way around.
@grabbitt yes, I am aware that the animations haven't been done. But if someone just wanted to place it in the world and see how it would look like or use it for a protype would that be ok?
Thank you for a character design tutorial. I learn a lot from your tutorials. I want to use the box modelling technique that you used to create the hand of the character. I want to create the full low poly character by using that method. So please can you tell which of your RUclips tutorial should I follow to learn the box modeling technique as a beginner? Or maybe you can upload a beginner friendly box modeling tutorial please.
Grant really enjoyed your Blender animation & rigging course, learnt a lot and wholly recommended it. Is the character pack course generally ok for blender 4? i know you added some helpful updates in the animation one.
Yes although I will be doing a complete remaster of the character course in the next couple months which you would have accessto if you own the original which is in the pack
nice work mate, first time at your channel. Def will follow you from now on... You mentioned about Texture Painting with Stencils. Do you have the link? I don't know that just yet...
Hey Grant, i have a few of your courses where you usually box model the character... Ive seen that you are lately using spheres, which looks easier nd mor fun... is there still any recommendations to still use box modeling? Thanks in advance
Could you animate this character's mouth using a facial bones? I'm a bit confused about how the mouth can move if it's not something simple like a bird's beak, which would be made of 2 distinct parts.
Grant! are you getting afraid of AI, which is currently seeming like it would takeover many 3d jobs in CG industry in a couple of years? What are your plannings if such 3d arts crisis happens?
@raymobula sorry I should have been more specific. I mean 'good' 3d models. The models from that video are mediocre on a good day. I understand that the bot is still in early development, but I just don't see it becoming very big for a while.
@@thespontaneoustomato2676 Unfortunately, it is already here for 3D models. At least in the printing sphere. I believe one of the popular helmet and cosplay makers built and trained their own (I hope) on their models. I think it was 4 months ago, perhaps longer, that it came out. Oh, forgot, another person I watch has built one for Blender. They do a rough shape, type in, and it creates a "new" texture of the item you typed. That was about a year ago now. But one example was done by making a rectangle and placing a cylinder on top, type in "treasure chest" and it came out almost as a perfect video game treasure. Probably not useable in-game but it did the UV unwrap as well. On the plus side, I think to use them the average person will still need a basic understanding of Blender. So they are still just a tool.
That frog is so cute, and helpful, and the way you made it is perfectly printable! Two tutorials in one.
I love the choice to have the mouth open by default! That makes auto retopo so easy with quad remesh.

Grant please keep it coming. I’m trying to catch up with all your tutorials then to sign up for your courses. Thank you!
Finally! A tutorial to create a 3D rendition of Pepe the frog! 😂
Jokes aside, I love it how this guide is so simple as possible!!!

Wonderful process to modeling in Blender!!
Thank you so much for all these tutorials
u remember there was a movie with a rat that flushed down to toilet?
there was a frog looked like this 😅
Nostalgia man
Funny and cvery cool . Thanks for sharing

Wow, cool!
Would this character be considered Unreal Engine 5 ready? Or would you need to do additional work before importing it into UE5?
You need to animate it first

@@GamingInstincts yes
@grabbitt sweet. Cool video, I love your work btw, I bought quite a few of your courses but never have the time to sit and do it -_-
loved it!
Love this

i have some earlier series on a box modelling type techniques for character creation. look up my deadpool series
Another banger of a tutorial! Thanks, Grant the monster kinda reminds me of Pepe the Frog 🐸
How exactly do you merge blobs? You would do ctrl + J to merge them into one object and then do remesh?
exactly
I never agreed to have my likeness put in to this 3d model!
🤣
Ooh I love it.
Also Grant. I can stop saying "Drawbridge"
I found a different reference. "Maxthantian Grenade". 🤣

I usually prefer the sculpting technique but it's much easier with the quad remesher addon
thanks! looking forward for new courses!@@grabbitt

Yes but you would need more than 2
@@grabbittThanks! In your course do you explain how to do animate the mouth on characters?
@danmusiceasy no its only character movement
@@grabbittI see, thanks! I'd love to be able to create something like a cat from 44cats that can speak.
where could I watch the texture painting tutorial you mentioned? I checked all the links :c
Check my texture painting playlist. I'll add the link later
Hello grant! im currently using version 3.6, can i still follow along this tutorial?
Yes. Most things are in the same place or obvious
يسعدني جدا وجود فيديوهات جديدة لك انت رائع 😍🌹🌹
The challenge: Do not delete the cube, but use Subdivision Surface modifier and start sculpting ;-)
Not dissimilar to what I'd did here but the icosphere is more spherical
You should do a really basic begginers tutorial on vfx
Lovely lovely lovely 🍻🍻🍻
Are your courses at this same super human speed?
Or are they at a pace us mere mortals can follow?
They are more slow and methodical. These videos suit the youtube algorithm
That's a Nintendo 64 cartridge
And yes, everyone, "blob" is the technical term. Blob away!

I think it's gonna be a while before AI starts making 3d models.
I think it will be a while before ai takes over
Watch the corridor crew’s video with the bowling animations from last week. Wren used AI to make a 3D model of a police hat. Give it a year.

Quad remesher is too expensive. :/ Especially in non-dolar countrys.
Cute????
