    Hey Grim!
I use the same one and it is great, haven' looked back!
Didn't know about the method of turning it on in the soil though, so thanks for that!!
Keep up the amazing work, so glad your partner is getting involved too; Just need to get my wife involved on the channel now hahaha!
If you are ever in the Devon area give me a shout, I'm sure we could arrange a good hunt on one of my permissions or I could put you up should you need it :D
You really inspired me to get into detecting and ultimately start my own channel last year, I owe you a lot.
That and I'm 99.9% certain we'd get along like a house on fire haha!!
    Off you canter now!

I’ve had mine over 4 years, love it, supposedly waterproof to 200ft, haven’t tested that yet but it’s been underwater many times, I plugged the short cable in and leave it wrapped up under the cap, never take it off so I always have the cable ready to charge.

Hi Grim buddy, not had the pleasure of using that pinpointer. I did have the fake Garrett Carrot, then got the Real Garrett Carrot, which is now my spare, as I'm currently using the Mi6!

They have fixed the charge port issue, mine accepts all the cables I have tried.

I’ve got a GP-pointer In black it still hits targets at 2 inches and I’ve had it for over 4 or 5 years and it was only a £10

I use an Li Wader (same as yours) and it does what it should. It’s robust, rechargeable and waterproof. I’ve never had a problem with the charging lead as I keep it coiled up inside the cover which saves trying to fiddle with it and busting up the socket.

Alright grim mate I use one very similar to that one but mine was 17 pound 💷 from amazon lol takes 9 volt batteries 🔋 lasts for ages and not had one issue with it 👌 nice one bud enjoy the beach 👍 bosh

Absolutely. I'm quite new to metal detecting, but mine is a GP Pointer that costs about the same as yours. To this date, it has found everything that I've detected without any issue, so far. Unless it breaks on me any time soon, I can't see any reason to justify spending £100+ for a 'better' named PP.

I've had the cheap pointer and a Garret and the sensitivity is so much different. The cheap one you have to be basically on the object if it's small metal.

    • @benheaps9319
      @benheaps9319 Год назад +1

@Ricky Stone I can respect that to be fair . More money better quality 👌 but still 17 pound is a bargain for a starter kit

@@benheaps9319 that's true Ben. It is a lot of difference in cost.

When I started I used the cheap GP pointer and thought it was great. Even told the guy in the detecting shop how good it was and I couldn't believe people pain more for them... after a couple of cheap ones broke I decided to buy a garret carrot, about £126 I think. The difference is unreal. It's a lot easier and quicker to find targets, and my rechargeable battery last a he'll of a lot longer in the good pinpointer.
I'd definitely recommend spending the extra money and getting a good pinpointer. I've had mine nearly 2 years with no issues. 😀
