I love how straight forward and informative this video is! People these days love to add introductions to videos that should be simple and no need for intros. I love your video! No waste of time! Thank you thank you thank you!
the hairdresser i went to yesterday did everything you said not to do. she hacked at my hair, she did it twice in a section, cutting 3 times. first cut very high almost to the scalp. around the horseshoe part and the neck. i went in with hair I had only cut ends on for 1 year. very thick and very long. after the haircut my heart sank when i touched the back. i was left with a shell of a hair, very frail and brittle, coarse, literally having flyaways everywhere. absolutely mortified by that experience. thank you for this tutorial, i am never going to a hairdresser ever again. to everyone else, appreciate your thick hair and be very certain you want it thinned.
I've always wanted to learn how to use thinning shears on myself. I have very bushy bulky hair and the hairdressers that I've gone to have never taken enough hair out. Even when I tell them to take more. This video is very helpful !
Same here with my granddaughter they never pull out those notchie scissors any more!..and her hair is so thick I’ve taken her to countless hairdressers low end and high end it’s always the same they don’t care and don’t listen unfortunately!..my mom has been doing this for years!..tomorrow I’m gonna go buy one
Mine did as I was asking to do it but to the point (because I wanted it), it wouldn’t go further because she said that I was gonna have no hair anymore 😂
Becky!!! lol Thanks, my little sis just informed me that I've been volunteered to run thinning sheers through her hair this weekend. I lay down a pretty good fade, but that aside, I don't cut hair. I credit you for some of the confidence I've picked up from watching your video, but I think the majority has to go to Becky. ;)
Thank you Brittnee! I have sooo much hair and sometimes my hairdresser who has very thin fine hair doesn’t take enough. I have to thin it myself. I also cut my bangs in between visits. I use thinning shears to soften my bangs. It’s all self taught and tips from you over the years. This is a good video to know more about using them. Thanks 💖
I experienced the same with my hairdresser - why 😢 Are they scared to take out too much? I stopped going and now do it myself. I learned from Brittnee 🥰
@@simple_naildesigns I’ve been seeing my girl for 10 years and she finally thinned it to my liking this lady appointment! I swear you could cut off the hair in between each foil ( I’m a bleach blonde ) and I would still have plenty of hair!
@@simple_naildesigns I think it’s because they are afraid. They have thin hair and don’t want to make us this way! I offered to donate all she could take off of my head to her! 😂
Thank you so much for this video! I have super thick hair, and I've only had one hairstylist in my life ever able to cut my hair how I want. So I've had to resort to just getting a trim, then doing it myself because it's always uneven, so I finally got these and some regular sheers! Now I feel like I can thin out my ends without worry! ❤
Always remember “teeth on top” I wish I knew that years ago lol I have messed my bangs up so much over the years before I learned that tip 😉 I love and look forward to all your videos!!!
This was so helpful. I always have one side of my head that is really thick and the hairdressers never take off enough bulk. Had my husband watch this video and he was able to thin my hair out perfectly. I bought thinning shears a year ago, but was afraid to use them until I watched this. Thank you!
Hello Brittnee, thank you so much for you videos! As someone that does not have access to hairstylists that I can entrust with my thick curly hair I decided to take matters into my own hands. Your videos have been a huge help. I wanted to ask if you could make a video in the future that discusses how to pick ratios when wanting to mix your own hair color. I for example could not get my hands on a premixed level 8 hair color with blue pigments, hence why I bought the kolestone 0/88 special mix which is a pure blue pigment. I am not sure how much of the 0/88 I should mix with the 8/0 and how i go about adding in more colors to the mix to fine tune the color more. It is just a suggestion though, we all appreciate the help you‘ve provided with your videos!
Home cut experimenter😊 I saw someone say teeth on bottom =no visible line and a softer look. Teeth on top line more visible -- can you show us the difference????? Getting confused 🫢 yes to vertical!!! 🎉
This looks like a great video, exactly as needed. I just got these in a kit and i need to keep my hair layed ultimately. I cant afford the professionals on a regular basis.
This is so interesting! Growing up i always had a pair of thinning sheers in my grooming box. I would yse them to thin out horse's manes who didn't tolerate pulling, or if i needed a show ready mane quick! Worked like a charm!!
Hellooo~ I just watched one of your vids about dyeing hair. May I ask how much or what percentage/volume of developers to use if I were going to dye some ashy purple to my lvl 8-10 bleached hair? 6%? 9%? Or 12%? The exact name of the hair color I'll use is "Deep Platinum Purple Ash" or "Bremod, 9.16" Thank youuuu💜
I have fine straight, straight hair but I have lot of hair. Would doing this help keep my hair from knotting up? I can leave the house and maybe an hour later when I comb my hair it’s full of knots, it’s super frustrating
I too have a LOT of fine straight hair. I thin my hair because I get too hot with all this hair. I don’t know ow if it would help with tangles/ knots. I feel like I still get them. I think fine hair is prone to knots. It would however reduce the amount because you reduce the amount of hair. I think you should have a professional thin it for you and see how it does. If you don’t get your desired effect then just don’t do it again. Your hair will grow back. It’s very easy to mess up when thinning your own hair. I’ve done it and people I know have too. My daughter in law has a bad line in her hair now. So go to a stylist and ask them to thin it. If your hair is thick like mine most people won’t notice. Only you!
yes! with men's hair (or shorter hair in general) you can get closer to the scalp- to blend the lines in a basic mens haircut (going from a shorter guard to longer guard) you would use these along that line
Wayyy more natural looking to actually hold them downward at a 45 degree angle when you begin to use thinning sheers both horizontal cuts and vertical cuts
"We've got becky today" the way she swung to the camera that was too funny😅
Poor Becky's been through it 😂

This video is the most helpful video I've come across so far about thinning shears! Thanks!
Thank you Brittany! I do cut my own hair, so I love to learn these things.

Brittany, you have taught me more things to do with hair than I learned in Beauty School. Thank you so much.

Love the tip to cut the hair vertically - need to try it ❤

I was taught teeth on top
Really needed this! Thank you!!

I have hypersensitivity, fibromyalgia and long hair gives me headahes, short layets are so much more comfy and manageable
Concise and to the point, thank you!
Thank you!! I want to try this, put so worried about the length - I need a model 😊
A bit nervous to try this on my daughters hair. Looks like investing in more clips would be a good idea.

@@Mrsjam96FYI these are actually terrible, unless you want to create a ton more split ends in your hair, i would stay away from these
@@wanderlustmmm6404 thinning shears? I have to have my hair thinned. I would seat to death without them!
Thank you, I’ve already wondered how to use them 👍🏼👍🏼
I’m trying to find some thinning sheers to create movement and layers at home. My hair is thin and mostly straight
Can you use them on split ends?
My daughter has incredibly thick curly hair can you use it for curly hair.. her hair is copper red and the curls are 3b so I was curious. Thank you.
I part my hair on the side; one side is much heavier than the other. Could this tool help take out some of the bulk on my one side?
This was perfect! Thank tou
My hair is so frizzy, would this help?
hi if i thin my hair will i get flyaways?
How do I take bulk out of side bangs?
Following!

Thank you Brittany! 😎😎😎
Does Brittany have two different channels? I swear I subscribed.
Thank you so much ❤️
THANK YOU FOR THIS
This is awesome but I’m nervous to use it. Does this work for shorter hair? (About 5 inches?)
yes! with men's hair (or shorter hair in general) you can get closer to the scalp- to blend the lines in a basic mens haircut (going from a shorter guard to longer guard) you would use these along that line
Great video
Thanks
Great thanks
I love it ❤
terbantu sekali dengan tutorial ini
Thanks!
omg i can't even. that was hard to watch! though I know they are useful. but people have been known to "they got after me with thinning shears".
❤❤❤

Oooh I want to but I’m scared to 😂
wow! this is.... wow!
THANK YOU i look like mahana with all this hair🤣

❤️🇳🇱❤️
These give me hundreds of those short hairs sticking out. It's awful. My hair hates this
Not good for thick curly wavy hair
Too bad...I'll never need them. Bulk...is not my fortune!!!
Is Becky single?
Thank you, I’ve already wondered how to use them 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you 😊
Thank you!!!
