    I have a 1992 USA Concorde LTD which was a part of the first reissue of this model. From memory they made 200 of them. 100 with a Floyd and 100 with the trem you have on yours. It doesn't have custom shop logo on the head stock. Just the Jackson logo and made in USA. Great guitars!

      @@gearhead762 if my knowledge is correct, very few Charvels and of course Jackson’s(limited to 3), utilized the chevron crown tuners. Eddie Van Halen’s 1979 Charvel bumblebee used them along with the hard to find Charvel brass strat styled trem with the straight trem arm and brass tip. Randy obviously used the same appointments here and were planning on using them for 4 more prototypes they were building for him but never were finished due to him passing. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong there, I’m just taking cobbled together information I’ve found over the years.

      Saw a video with Karl Sandoval (who created the polka dot V) and he talked about Randy playing one of Karl's hollow body guitars sitting around (it was around 1979 and Randy was still playing with Quiet Riot). Back to Karl's guitar... it had very heavy gauge strings 13-52 and Randy played it beautifully (most couldn't play that guitar well). Randy had brought in his infamous Les Paul and the frets were almost gone and the action was very high.
      Karl noticed him playing the guitars the way classical guitarists play. Randy informed Karl about his mom and how he has played classical for some time and told Karl he just got used to high action. Most probably don't know that Les Paul was virtually fretless with extremely high action... so, as Randy explained it, the notes could bend well. Randy is an example of someone who could make any guitar sound good. Randy came to Karl because he built a V for George Lynch and he loved it. That was the day he came to Karl to build one for him (that infamous polka dot V).

    • @area51audio
      @area51audio 3 года назад +1

      That has to do with how much UV exposure it got. Most likely it's spent most of it's life in a case. I've got a few white guitars that I sprayed myself (nitrocellulose) and it didn't take long for either to yellow up some..even with just florescent indoor lighting.

      @@briangisler1981 so what you are telling me is that the guitar turned yellow in less than 2 years? You know you are talking to someone who owns a 74 in that colour, right? I know how it looks, and I know the colour from having it repaired. It was a colour Gibson used then. Randy got the guitar in late 78. If you look at photos from 1980, the guitar is the same eggshell white as it is now. Some lighting can make the guitar appear white in some situations, but it is a very distinct colour, and actually quite sought after.

    The oval plate for the pickup switch is incorrect. It’s not oval, it’s suppose to be square. Why was these a redesign from the original? The RR gold plate on the neck stock is also incorrect. It’s supposed to be black not gold. The leg rest area is suppose to be round not cut. These small changes makes this not a true original even if it’s built by the same guys who did the original.the tuning keys??? Hmm 🤔

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 3 года назад +1

      There was some agreements made with Randys mother at the time, which basically said that the guitars could not be 100%. That's why the pinstripes are a different colour, different tuners, the plate etc. Still very cool guitar, and very close. From the standpoint of how the guitar feels to play, it matters that it was built by the same team who built Randys.

      Ed Roman got his hands on one of these and did some 100% correct so to speak. Correct Kahler bridge, Schaller tuners, fretboard lifted from a Gibson LP Custom like Grover Jackson originally did.

      Fun fact: Randy was not entirely pleased with it. That's why you don't see a lot of videos of him playing it. He thought it was too big and heavy, hence why they made a smaller version.
      Just prior to his death, he started receiving a few black and white ones with string though body construction. You can see him with one of those in the video where he gets the new talent award.
