That's nice! I like that, it's good to see a good old fashion Jackson Flying V. All these guitar guys lately have been selling out for sponsorship and playing Dean guitars. Not that they're not good guitars, but when I first started playing bass, Dean was a Sears brand guitar. Their biggest competitor was Oscar Schmidt,
Nice looking guitar. I'm 58 I still remember when Randy died and still love his music today great tribute to a man taken too soon, he was incredible. I remember how hard it hit Ozzy he was devastated.
I'm curious to know what you think about this guitar after having it for a few months now, do you still play it at all? How do you like it after the "new guitar" effect has worn off?

I guess I am late to the party. I just discovered GUS G. Been watching all his videos. Cool dude and seems down to earth. Thank you for your videos. I am guessing you play classical guitar. It shows. I can always tell a electric guitar player who has studied classical guitar. God bless. You know your modes very well. Awesome
I think there should be a series of videos of Ozzy’s various guitarist playing the signature guitars of OTHER Ozzy guitarists. Like Jake playing a Wylde Audio guitar and Zakk playing one of Gus G’s Jacksons
Jackson aren't paying me to say their guitars are good, I just like playing their guitars. Cat instantly wants the boxes, typical kitty XD Honestly, I don't think you can get more Randy Rhoads then this (besides the limited edition concord they released a few years ago). You think "Randy Rhoads V" and you think the white with pinstripes and gold hardware. Awesome guitar, awesome playing!
Just bought/received one of these from Guitar center...This Gus guy's video sold me on the idea of taking a chance on ordering one sight-unseen!!! Surprisingly, a pretty nice player right out of the box. It does have a rather wide feeling neck profile. Something to take into consideration if you have smaller hands. Build quality is also surprisingly good I found. Paint color is more off-white than pure white. Guitar strings seemed a little stale, so I changed them out with some D'Addario 9's...and lemon-oiled up the ebony fret board. It's alot more balanced compared to the top heavy original 1992 run of 200 models. I used to own one of those. That one felt and sounded like a Les Paul. This version is a different feeling and sounding animal. The sound is non-distinctive. Sounds like a guitar with Duncan pups. No more, no less. After the string change, just a tad bit of Floyd Rose spring adjustment is all that was needed to get it back in good tune. Plays very nicely and could probably play even better with more adjustments. Very impractical shaped guitar for couch picking, but nostalgia rules the day with this one. For around a grand, this is a pretty descent axe...It's a keeper! And a thing of beauty just to look at it! I'm hanging it next to my very rare autographed photo of Randy himself, who I met at the Sam Houston Colosseum in February of 1982.
Guys G is bad ass, he can shred with the best of them. I like how he played the intro to IDK written by RR..I did the same song when I unboxed my JS32Rhoads. Thanks Gus G and all at Jackson USA Cool Share you Rock GG
Hey Gus little did a young Randy know how much he would impact so many peoples lives after his death, great video, guitar & playing thx stay heavy!:):)
@@metalpunk9519 I bet you sold off the LP player that plays it. With any modern LP player it’s not going to play the original sound. A sign of success is not whether the new born babies listen to RR. It’s, Did grandma and grandpa of the 1980’s think much of it? Clearly, at the time in 1980, they hated it and that never changed. The music system is right to sell only to new born humans. It’s kiddies music. Playing a song one more time for the new borns is just the dumbest thing to do. In 50 years time, this is still going to be the only music for people to listen to. It was the last of the people who knew how to be social. In the exploded ruins of the music scene, people will always be able to find this stuff and nothing else. There’s no one to have a conversation with. Nobody knows how to behave around other humans. This stuff is dead. Gone, just the same as dinosaurs. All you’re doing is patting yourself on the back. Standing amongst the nuclear ruins of an old society is what you’re doing. The mass of the population is fooling you into thinking a certain way. It never was what rick is saying it was.
That sound has nothing to do with RR. That 2020 version of and old thing has nothing to do with RR. RR didn’t play with the 2020 version of the guitar and the blacked out thing RR had was, of course, blacked out so nobody actually saw a shape of the guitar cause it was painted in a paint that causes humans to look at other things. It’s just loozer guss, patting himself on the back again. This guy wouldn’t have a clue how to be social.

I just came out of my bedroom where I was dialing in effects settings for bark at the moon with my 05 BC Rick Mockingbird I went thru and redid the setup on after working on the frets a bit. I dont own a Jackson guitar but I do have my wonder twin bass's one 4 string and one 5 as well as a Charvel acoustic.
Wow... this guitar is awesome!!! It is my consume dream since I've started learning how to play it... and this model itself - what an incredible tone! Congrats!!! Have great experiences and recordings with it!!!
Hey Gus... I realize this video is a bit old BUT I recently bought 2 RRs as well and a Jackson pro Dinky Green Glow w/Duncan JB and a 59. I can't stop playing them. All of them are great. One of the models is a seven string Rhoads which I never could have imagined would ever happen especially way back in the day.I bought the Mark Heylman/Suicide Silence model with his signature Fishman Fluence pickups and a Battleship Gray with black bevels RRX24 with Seymour Duncan Blackouts. I seen how excited you were to get yours and I thought I would share my excitement with you about getting mine as well. I also thought I would take this chance to thank you personally for changing my guitar playing experience forever . I was one of those players who had always been told to learn my modes and of course I didn't. lol. Until one day I was watching your instructional video and you said...."Once I learned this...I realized I knew them all" ( sorry that's a paraphrase) and right then and there I decided I wouldn't go another day without learning my modes. I held myself to it, started to really get interested in and learn about sequencing and by doing this I instantly could play faster, cleaner, and more articulate than ever before. That gift of a moment that I shared with you truly did change my musical path and life forever and I can't thank you enough for it. It also made me fully understand why I had been told for so long to take the time and learn those modes. Since then, my knowledge of music theory has in general just grown and grown in every direction imaginable. It was great watching you shred that thing. One more thing I would like for you to know is that as an individual player, meaning whenever I hear or watch you play and it's only you and a guitar you are definitely one of my top inspirations of ANY player in the world today. I can't get enough when you start setting that neck on fire, it sounds fantastic and once again Thanks for being the one that drove me to do my homework. It definitely pays off.

Well gus now you've got to go get a jake e lee signature charvel whitey be cool to see you do a video on that
Had to watch again. Love if seeing you play a floyd. Just a cool cool RRs guitar.
Man, your runs are just killer. Descending and ascending you just rock man. Thanks so much for sharing brother. Stay safe. Regards from southern Indiana USA. .
Είσαι θρύλος! Σε αγαπάμε στην Ελλάδα 🇬🇷🇬🇷
Yea Gus! It fits you. Your awesome! And your guitar work was excellent on the album " Scream". You Made that album! So rock on sir! Be well!
I can't believe they sent it in a cardboard box & not a hard case
I play Jackson for over 13 years and I never thought of changing it! Wonderful guitars! Enjoy your new guitar, Gus!
P.S.: Randy Rhoads' riffing is insane! 🤘
That's nice! I like that, it's good to see a good old fashion Jackson Flying V. All these guitar guys lately have been selling out for sponsorship and playing Dean guitars. Not that they're not good guitars, but when I first started playing bass, Dean was a Sears brand guitar. Their biggest competitor was Oscar Schmidt,
Respect to you Gus. Randy inspired us all. RR lives!
O my God! Finally I found who played Scream Ozzy's album :v fantastic haha Google suggested this video 😂
I was very excited to see Gus G was reviewing this guitar. I’m gonna have to pick it up! Love Randy Rhoads.
I saw Gus g live I believe it was 2010, 2011, or 2012 with ozzy Osbourne in Fort Lauderdale and I though Gus g was amazing 🤘🏻
How do you like it after the "new guitar" effect has worn off?
such an iconic and beautiful guitar..especially with the gold hardware. Every time i see some one play that guitar, i think of RR....such a shame he never got to see any of this happen...
Melhores guitarristas que já tocaram com o Ozzy(na minha humilde opinião):
- Randy Rhoads
- Brad Gillis
- Gus G
- Jake E. Lee
I don’t speak Spanish , however , I know exactly what you’re saying ! Great list
@@531ff it's portuguese, close
I may not be portuguese/brazilian but thanks god I know spanish
so I can understand this
@@ibnsina9486 yeah, if you speak spanish then portuguese is by far one of the most simple languages
Sorry Edvan, Jake E. Lee all the way.
Damn Gus that's beautiful. I'm so jealous. I have wanted that guitar for over 35 years.
Ωπ !!!
What an awesome guitar! It looks and sounds perfect
Awesome
Yeah you've been warned not to worship false idols.
I wish that youtube had a love button! :) thanks for being amazing Gus!
How was the action straight out of the box ?. Does Jackson set the string height at 1.5 mm ?.
Congratulations Gus. Had no idea you played with Oz. Only knew you from the Cameo's with Rob. Have a great week.
I think there should be a series of videos of Ozzy’s various guitarist playing the signature guitars of OTHER Ozzy guitarists. Like Jake playing a Wylde Audio guitar and Zakk playing one of Gus G’s Jacksons
So fluid set up from the box. Thanks for that. Let's keep it going.
Can you tell your friends at Jackson to send me one? I waited for over a year and those custom shop FKRS didn't even start one mine!
The bridge pick-up sounds the best to me it just stands out straight away when you change to it 🤘
Jackson aren't paying me to say their guitars are good, I just like playing their guitars.
Cat instantly wants the boxes, typical kitty XD
Honestly, I don't think you can get more Randy Rhoads then this (besides the limited edition concord they released a few years ago).
Came for the guitar, stayed for the cat.
Guys G is bad ass, he can shred with the best of them. I like how he played the intro to IDK written by RR..I did the same song when I unboxed my JS32Rhoads. Thanks Gus G and all at Jackson USA Cool Share you Rock GG
Not a huge fan of Rhoads guitars, but this one is just... wow...
I have the rr5 black with goldpinstripe and scratchplate. Super rare 😊
6:45 Jackson still uses the “D” shaped neck?
They keep killing your investment every year.
Guys in Australia can only buy the India Jacksons.
Nobody buys and the stores are forced to close.
FireTV I love my Jackson guitar, it gives me a nice 80s tone.
Hey Gus little did a young Randy know how much he would impact so many peoples lives after his death, great video, guitar & playing thx stay heavy!:):)
You weren't even born.
@@dreyn7780 Hey Dude i bought Blizzard of OZZ when it came out in 1980 and still have it today!
@@dreyn7780 My friend your missing the whole point, it's not about how ,when or were it's about a great place in time in music history, it's like Eddie Van Halen he did it all with a parts guitar that cost him about $75 thx for your reply!:)
Sounds awesome and that playing is magic i'm telling you. You should make an instruction video explaining how to play all the Ozzy songs. That would be cool.
Is your wife hanging around sometimes when you do these videos? (Probably in the background rolling her eyes saying to herself "ugh, here he goes again") HAHA
I have a Washburn RR11v I bought new in 86 I play all the time.
Cool axe Gus…like how the cat is checking out the box 😅
Bought the same RR3 on my birthday this year in August. Absolutely love it.
The White with gold hardware and black accents are amazing. I hope you make sweet riffs and solos with this !
Absolute classic that guitar is, sounds killer man awesome playing as always!
Wow... this guitar is awesome!!!
Wow thanks that means a lot 🙏 keep playing my friend
