Yeah, not to sound hypercritical but I agree. I don't think it came out that good. It was just a little bit in one spot and the rest of the guitar, it just makes it looks dirty.
I’m a pro painter in a powder coat shop. When it comes to painting plastic. After scuffing. Spray a coat of adhesion promoter. That is the best thing to make paint adhere to plastic.
Nah not nearly enough blood!!!! If you want blood you got a ... speckled Easter egg look there . Almost polka dot look not crime seen murder gore blood splatter you got big pimple/nose bleed drops . Just throw a big handful at it and be done . One shot one kill looks more believable as blood splatter than the careful robin egg thing you ended up with. Also think the pickup s or at least the rings should have been left black to match the Floyd and the hardware And the logo
Between 13:04 and 13:09 where you said I should have left it like this....agree 100%. It looked very cool sparingly applied...like the previous red splatter white one!!! Buutt...more green would look awesome too. Just simply redo however many times until it is RIGHT. Great customizing!!!!
Great to rehab old guitars. I did this to a bunch of Peavey Tracers as they were one of the few solid / stable 24.75" Super Strats, but only made from '88 to '92, had to buy used and refurb. Mine were fret fix-ups and electronic updates, no painting. You're bond / painting skills are awesome!
Hope you don't regret selling your first Jackson Rhoads. A few years ago, I sold two electric guitars that I purchased when I was a teenager and I ended up regretting it and still do to this day. I wish I could get those back.
I thought the red blood guitar looked good but I would have liked more blood . The original way you had the alien blood guitar looked awesome to me but I'll wait to see where you go with this !! Great channel !!
I actually was going to do that to one of them and then changed my mind... I want to do that at some point. I did a crazy burst Polkadot finish on my step daughters guitar that turned out awesome.
trash to thrash made me subscribe! excellent idea, very good execution and very, very nice pacing! i thoroughly enjoy the highlight pace, cos i'm not very interested in modifying myself, so seeing someone nerd over a route for an eternity or 15 minutes test fitting screws doesn't gel with me. trash to thrash in its current pacing does gel very well with me!~ also i upgraded our bassist by adding a kill switch to him. so whenever he undoubtedly start chewing on frisbees it's time to put the upgrade to good use!
Instantly subbed! I love seeing stuff getting built! Love the randy Jackson v, it was my first serious guitar, now I own the awesome stealth bc rich and another randy v but the minion version and that thing is seriously fun 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm sure I overlooked or under looked where I can buy one. I believe a true craftsman will do things over a min d over till it's perfect. It sucks being creative sometimes it takes forever to finish a project but the end result...glad this popped up! Cool channel!!
It's funny how this video popped up in my feed, because I'm currently rebuilding my old warhorse Rhodes from the same year and model. But it's not the first time I've rebuilt it, I was going to let it rest in my guitar graveyard then decided to give it the respect it deserves. Considering the hundreds of shows I played with it.
Great job! Although for me, the white V needed a little more blood on and around the neck pickup. With the black one, I thought it looked killer before you repainted it. What kind of clear, if any, did you use to seal them with? Keep doing what you are man, it really harkens back to the Metal years!
Everybody knows Rhoades taught Satriani and then Joe taught Hammet and Vai but my buddies Dad once said that Rhoades once got a lesson from Hendrix. Rhoades would try to get and give a guitar lesson at every town he visited on tour.
In the 80's I had a knock off RR by Hondo, that guitar rocked now that I have an RR, I swear its the most impractical guitar to play... they need a better design for a strap so it at least enhance not hurt when playing. DAMN GOOD JOB ON THOSE WOW!!!
Really cool video man. Would be awesome if you did some major changes like changing the fretboard entirely. For example, changing a rosewood fretboard to ebony with sharktooth inlays. would be awesome man
Very cool episode. I like the history, background information. I do have a guitar build question, regarding a locking nut. My DIY guitar kit strat has a neck radius of 9.5, and I'd like to install a Floyd Rose on it. The typical R2 locking nut has a radius of 10.0. Should I file the string slots on the locking nut to make a radius of 9.5? What do you recommend?
@@GuitarGuts Thanks. I'm building a guitar from a kit. I noticed that you might be using Rustoleum products. Does the Rustoleum Clear Coat fully dry after applying it and waiting for a while (like a week or so)? I heard that it may not. Second question, would you apply clear coats on EVH guitars, like the black/white guitar? I'm struggling with this. It's a perfect day to paint in NorCal today. Lol.
Nice work with the battery box and pait job looks great. Are you using a clear coat on the finnshed job? Have a look at the paint swirling it looks sick done using rattle cans and dipped.
@GuitarGuts, no clear coat over the paint and splatter? I desperately want to refinish my USA King V (got it used, and the finish has seen better days). So, is a clearcoat necessary? I'd like to keep my finish the original gloss black. You've painted a lot more guitars than me! Thoughts?
Try pouring paint on a car wash sponge, facing the object and smacking it with a hammer! Where do you get the decals? Are they just vinyl stickers? If it’s vinyl use the outer parts of the sticker and airbrush it! Did you clear it? What type of paint are using? Lacquer or Acrylic? Thanks!
nice job!...think I should do it in Finland..rebuilding older 80-90´s Jackson, Charvel, Hamer, Kramer an d so on...even there are NOT so many guitars available or they are way more expensive than in USA.
Nice work, wish I would have found a skilled guy like you 25 years ago! Just subscribed, wish you tons of luck and work! It would be cool to add some links or info on how and where you sell your guitars (username / reverb / Ebay / etc). Rock on!
Can I send you a 2017 JS32 King V body to fix up and give a red with white bevels paint job? How much would it cost? It needs a few dents and chips fixed, and the Floyd posts when the last guy installed it cracked the body need to be fixed. I think it's the bass side post that is cracked. I've had it sitting in a case for about two years now. I tried to paint it but it was late into the summer season and fall came quick.
Great videos dude,I want to at some point own a rhoads guitar..was looking at the RRT3 Model in white, have you ever played one? I share ur passion for guitar building also but haven't got the time at the moment, maybe l8r in life ??🙂
How much ??? I’m very close to buying the rhoads maul crackle.. quick question, if I’m playing more drop tuning (drop c,b) would it be better to buy the x series and upgrade it (due to active pickups) or get the pro maul crackle and the Jb humbuckers will be fine?? Or sell one of those guitars newly painted splatter guitars maybe ??
A rip or tear would look killer or a slice I have this idea in my head kinda hard to explain watch the vinnie Vincent love kills video the tear on the lockers is best way to explain it
I make custom hand made pedal boards with custom finishes like Zombie blood splatter and Toxic UV waste It is a make or break deal when I'm do the splatter effect I find using a paint brush and faning the brush makes a good effect for this type of finish..I sell them on REVERB where do you sell your guitars?
Oh shit I just got an idea to build an custom jackson bass in jawbreaker finish or sangheili blood (Halo) because Ellefson got me hooked on jackson basses even though I own an vintage Ibanez bass. I'm just going on Facebook marketplace place to find some active 5 string Jackson basses to build a custom bass with LED lights and my sci-fi ideas from Halo
The algorithm has brought me yet another gift.
Same
Seriously, this channel is right up my alley.
Man what a badass idea man. The trash to thrash theme. I could see this series blowing up. Subbed. I'm with ya man lol
the red blodd needed more blood, the green alien blood was perfect
That’s exactly what I thought. The white one would’ve looked awesome if it had as much blood as the alien blood one did
Yeah, not to sound hypercritical but I agree. I don't think it came out that good. It was just a little bit in one spot and the rest of the guitar, it just makes it looks dirty.

How can I access your shop?
Went from alien blood to blacklight in a teenager's room real quick lol
This is what I watch at 3am while eating chips from tuesday
I purchased the white blood spatter guitar featured here. It’s a beaut!
Dammit! I was just gonna inquire about it. Can i ask how much?
One of the few times I actually subbed due to a recommendation 🤯
Get a 4" wide paint brush and dip and fling paint at it, the splatter will be more inconsistent and somewhat thicker
As a bass and guitar player im loving this
These videos are so awesome. Appreciate you documenting this
I just discovered this channel and I love the fact that he’s like West Coast Customs, but with guitars

Man lovely this series saw the advert on Instagram and binged all of them. Keep up the good work.
My first guitar was a Jackson rhoads and I loved it. Keep it up man. It looks awesome
we just came across your videos while we were bored at the office today, great job especially on the white v with blood splatter. ...wicked!
Would you think that it would be difficult to convert a string through Rhoads to a floating Floyd rose?
Your collection is wicked, I’m surprised that your channel is this small. You definitely deserve more subs.
pls someone pls do this on their buckethead signature gibson, that would cool sooo bloody cool
Nooooo dont do that

In my opinion when he put on too much alien blood it looked SO fucking amazing, I’d buy it in a heartbeat
This is so cool! I make V’s out of found wood. A Rhodes-style one was next on my to do list. Your collection is impressive. You’re the damn man!
Thank you!!!
That's very cool! I like hearing that. Found wood guitars I bet have so much character!
Another excellent episode! The Rhoads is definitely the shape I associate with you the most.
That blood splatter is amazing as always
Its always cool to make em better

I would leave the green, and splatter another colour on top, purple or yellow, if it doesn't work then you were going to scrape it anyway.
I love my 94 rr3. One of my fav guitars next to my 86 Kramer.
Love that white with red splatter but it really needs shark fins instead of dots.
