Just stumbled onto your channel , some great stuff here.. I've had my 3v for many years and have been contemplating boost for some time .. once i get back to work from the covid lay offs , i hope to get to Brenspeed to get them to hook me up with a Paxton ..
They're definitely a lot of fun with boost and it's more unique then what you usually see. That being said though I just lost 3rd gear in my trans so it may be a bit unreliable 😂 it's racecar stuff tho, things break🤷♂️
Im an import guy, have been all my life. Wife convinced me to go American muscle, which I did. Just purchased an 06 Saleen s281 SC. One question.... why did I wait so long ??? 🇺🇸
And I'm a muscle car guy and am currently looking for jdm import. That's the great thing about cars, they're all so different. I can't wait for the day I can rip up the streets in both.
Did you have to switch out your internals for forged or keep stock ones, literally about to boost my 4.6 in a little while and didn’t know if it’s needed to or will be okay
Got a 09 3v dark candle apple red fully loaded glass roof I just got an edilbrock supercharger for. Everything I'm doing will probably be about 12k for on top of everything else I have done. It is always worth it if it is what you want. Coyote is hands down a better engine in almost every way. But for a daily I'm keeping this 3v forever
I blew my 4.6 stock with a turbo on it, took me 2 years to rebuild the engine with aftermarket internals and other parts, spent about $14,500 on machine shop and parts. Soon going to dyno for at least 700HP
Love your channel bro! Please keep it up, very informative but entertaining at the same time. I drive a 06 GT manual myself, only have some 19" wheels right now but next month she'll get a JLT Intake, pype bombs axle backs for some growl and a custom dyno tune!
@@CamMarz Thanks man!! I can't wait! Unfortunately it'll take sometime as i need to ship it to the Netherlands haha great channel man, appreciate the replies!
Personally I'm a big fan of how the 3v sounds, so money no option I would build and stoke a 3v. Coyote swaps are definitely cool, but you're looking at a similar cost to swap and boost a coyote as to building a beefy ass 3v motor with boost. A gen 2 coyote after swapping the oil pump gears is ready for a lot of power too, so I think at the end of the day, it'll come down to your preference!
Hi nice mustang ,how mouch horse power that it makes ,I have one 2005 gt made it Elenore bady kit good paint job and supercharger all most the same of yours, but my made it erny sigala . below the motor 2 times ,and a think it needs Dyno , but her in Tijuana Mexico not to much people know how to do it.
coming from a moderately boosted 3v 8psi on a stock motor id recommend more boost and at least a rotation assembly if you want to hang with mildly built s550
Lots of 5-0 boys bash the 3v yet all they got is a bama tune and a crappy exhaust. A 3v with a good supercharger and quality exhaust system will smoke them. A supercharger for the 5.0 will cost you and few people ever make the jump to boosted 5.0. Money talks and a boosted 3v is hard to beat.
Michael Regan I use to gap all kinds of 5.0’s in my 3v with bama tune. I had two of the baddest 3v’s on the streets one of them was making 900 rwhp . I miss them a lot.
@@CamMarz Not a bad idea. Might be adding a whipple 2.3 or roush 2300 to my 06 roush stage 3, have videos of it on my channel, car only has pulley, CAI and gt500 dual fuel pump system and a dyno tune. I figure the sooner I add a bigger supercharger the longer I'll get to enjoy it on the car...lol
I believe it was like 460/400 on a mustang dyno. Can't remember exact numbers but I do have a video with them! Tune is conservative, only 17-18 degrees of timing an 8 or so PSI of boost
That’s kool I too drive a mustang it’s an 05 legend green I did stuff to my motor also and my hp is 540 and 494 pounds of tq you you are right tjaes cars do get some attention on the road . Be safe my friend 🇺🇸
Hey great content! ..still hesitating between a 3v or coyote :/ Here in Montreal(Canada) there's an average 10000$ difference between a 05-09 vs 2011-14. Find it hard to pay 10k for a 0-60 of 4.4-4.6 (2011-14) vs 4.9-5.0 (05-09). And a big concern is the mt82: they're so bad there's a class action lawsuit on it :/ And the t3650 seems to be a better transmission since it's build by tremec. (Yeah i know I could swap the mt82 with a magnum xl kit but it's quite pricy!) My main goal is the fastest 0-60 time and still having a reliable car! Any suggestions? :)
05-09 GT sounds like the way to go for you. GET THE MANUAL VERSION OF IT. I have the auto and it is a very unreliable trans that does not take power well. Have fun with the car for a year or two before you decide to boost it. Then you'll know whether you want to go down that path or not!
@@CamMarz hey tnx for the fast reply! Of course it'll be a manual!! (Even if the new 10 speed is quite faster..I don't care: I wanna bang those gears!) Did they fit square all around? Or did you have to use a staggered setup?
@@StayHydrated-wd5ic They do fit square all around indeed! But they're not that wide, i think they're 9j so the tire is like 275-285
Great video, informative, awesome car!
Thank you! Glad it's been received well.
How much boost are you running?
What pistons are you using if you put a stroker kit and .020 over on the cylinder.
This isn't a stroker, basically stock motor with cams!
That's pretty expensive when you can just buy an f-body put a stall converter "if auto" and cam and hurt the 5.0 feelings for half that price
HAHA, I have a rule where I don't race fast f-body's
F body gang for life 😂🤟🏻
Thanks for the advice!
Happy to help!
Your build its awesome 👌... i live in California and because of smog regulations I can't do anything to mine.
Thanks man! Yeah really sucks how strict Cali is
You cant boost it?
Everything is illegal in California. No joke
Yes everything is illegal in California including freedom.
i dont trust myself enough to change the internals on a 4.6 and having a shop do it will end up more expensive then a 5.0 swap
Eh, I'll probably have a shop do it too, but I don't think it'll be more expensive than a yote swap. Depends how you source the parts
@@CamMarz Would love to go with boost, then forged internals, then more boost. Somewhere in there might require a 6R80 though.

Do you still have AC, or did you have to sacrifice anything for your setup?
I do still have AC yes, but I was definitely debating ripping it out cause it's a tight fit and a pain😂
If you pull off that rubber insulator on the hood the hot air will escape man! Old Corvette trick...😮
