I had built my own fursuit, but not actually made it myself, however I am satisfied with how it turned out. I was looking for something basic or casual rather than creating a fursona. My advice for those who are starting to get their fursuit either it being premade or hand made; what I have done was buying parts, without having spent so much money all at once. Don't rush. Take your time. For me, I have saved a lot of money and in the span of two months, I have gotten every part that I wanted. I didn't really mind the quality of it, I was happy with how it looks on me. One thing I have learned; I would recommend scaling yourself if you consider getting the bodysuit part. Also, I didn't get all of my parts from Etsy, but you could get fursuit parts just about anywhere, some decent examples such as Amazon and Ebay, or just about any website, just as long as the website has excellent customer service and or money-back guarantee. I only had spent $597.93 and it was all worth it.

Im pretty sure you can also commission newer creators, since they're just starting out they'll usually have it for cheaper, also I think someone would be extremely happy to have someone wearing their work! Plus it helps out a small creator!
Glad I could help! The nice thing about fursuits is, heads and tails can be adjusted at about any age, while a body suit, is better to have once fully grown to prevent growing out if it.
The last picture you show I got the same one and I did not know what I was doing I was new so I did not know who or where to get one but now I know a lot of stuff since I started it as been almost 2 years now since I joined the furry fandom and I love it so much. I fond someone called thunder howl studios who makes great fursuits so I’m trying to get one from them soon I hope

I got a fursuit head for free once cause the seller sent me the wrong head and wasn't responding so etsy refunded me and the seller deleted their whole store so thats nice

Ah man... Joann's was incredibly expensive even with their deals but going to Walmart I found faux fur fabric by the yard I could actually afford as more of a beginner. And it was actually sad for the fact that the Walmart faux fur in my area was actually a far better quality than Joann's?! At joann's the faux fur was just SHEDDING EVERYWHERE and it was expensive too. So uh... Yeah not a very good experience for me unfortunately. And I've never seen anything fursuit at all at my Walmart though, I wouldn't buy them even so. And Walmart also had the same exact kind of upholstery foam for an incredibly much cheaper price while Joann's was insanely expensive and their discounts made their upholstery foam just as much as it would be at Walmart while Walmart if on clearance would be far more cheaper than Joann's... However I cannot find eva foam or any clay or other materials locally. Well, there's clay but heckin expensive compared to online. This is cause I do not live in a city so I must buy from online. I'm sorry you had a difficult time collecting materials at reasonable prices. If these issues persist, you may also want to try Michaels arts and crafts, or used fursuit fur and materials groups, I mentioned a helpful Telegram group that sell excess fur and foam at discounted prices. If you do decide to chose this rought, ask that the seller vaccum seal the fur and foam so it will fit into a smaller shipping box and save in shipping cost🛫

Don't forget google, you can get suits on there from £100-£1,000, how its so cheap? Because most of the time they are pre-used or it just works! I would like a fursuit even though google is cheap, it is expensive to most people. WARNING: Fursuits are money taking. Don't forget that when you do get it you HAVE to look after it! There are templates tou can use to give yourself a leg up when it comes to creating a good looking head base, everything else can be learned with tutorials and some practice, don't doubt yourself before giving yourself a chance😺
Trust me you can, it all starts with your premade base or bucket head and just slowly build up till u get tthe shape you want. There's plenty of templates and tutorials on the Internet
That was some pawsome advise. Hehe I'm going to be hated for it but I did get one of the knock off suits, it was more to see if I was happy wearing one with my back issues. Fur suit makers in my local city are a bloody rip off ($3500) for a head only so thats why I went down the $400 rip off path. I did give it away. I would recond people getting them if you just want it to try on and you don't care about the character, they are not that badly built and for there price it could answer some questions. I have also found a reputal builder so hopefully I ight have one of my own pink tiger cub Sprinklz one day.

Awesome, I've built on a resin base once, and it was a different approach from foam since the ground work was already there, so any adjustments really could only be made by adding more material, unless one were to dremel resin.
Amazon has the same scams as ebay now, and they like to delete reviews that warn people about scams (they seem to be helping scammers now... I'ma have to stop using them for products). I've seen good things on etsy but haven't ordered anything from them yet so I don't know how reliable they are yet. I've also seen some bases on temu but haven't ordered any there yet. The dealership looks pretty good, a little expensive for some things but cheaper for others so always shop around. On a side note, I love this community and think it is the perfect expression of American freedom. If Anyone Ever gives you a hard time for this, tell them they are in the wrong country and to "try one of the middle eastern countries, they seem to share your values closer than America". Stay happy, stay furry, and put some ventilation in your heads and/or fans (heat stroke is bad and it's easy enough to avoid :-).
I have a bigger problem since im Polish, and inflation here hits hard and our Banknote is almost 5x lower than USD, so fursuits cost 5x more than in USA
Honestly, it's because of a outdated wood paneling, if you venture into some of my previous videos, you can see the real background, it's just not that aesthetic.
If you want really this, keep your voaks obtainable and add a small piece to your fursuit till you have the whole thing. Save the body suit for last as you will continue to grow into your late teen years and out grow the body suit. If you want to make your own, practice with cheap fur first, then move up when your skill improves. Remember, sales at fabric shops and tutorials will you your greatest ali when crafting.
Is it ok to wear a tail, paws and ears without a head? I'm a beginner furry and cant find a straight answer. Its mainly for medical reasons I can not have anything too heavy on me as I could dislocate my knee again.
I'm not a doctor, but my my mate has the same problems with here joints. Wearing fursuit items that are similar in weight to your regular cloths or, spandex wear if your going to be fursuiting a long time, should be easy on your joins since you would mearly be wearing two layers. The size and weight of a tail is going to be where most of your weight comes from. Your average small tail can weight under a pound, your medium tail about a 1 1/2 Lbs and larger tail and floor-draggers can weight upwards of 5 to 7 pounds, but you may be able to get them lighter based of what stuffing is used inside. What can also help you immensely, is to apply knee wraps to add support to your joints, weight lifters use these and can safely lift hundreds of pounds. Hope this helps, have a nice day😸

Eh if all things fail is it that deep and necessary to get a fursuit? My confidence with making my own suit is not high. Though I can always make drawing pieces.

However these prices are incredibly cheap compared to getting it custom made, its still way too expensive for i and many people. As for this, ive bought a dinomask as a base. They save so much money, and templates/tutorials for paws, feet etc. are incredibly cheap too!
Oh yes, for sure, it's usually a master move to buy fur and foam from places like the groups I mentioned in the video to get discounts on fur grab bags and foam. For those who lack the artistic edge, the premade make it easier and more affordable way to enter the fursuiting hobby without sacrificing quality.
Like how you explain in good way how safe more money and how those websites work. I probably could not made my own cuz i feel its kinda hard. Also i since i live in that kinda place where are no furries to buy from website be still expense cuz traveling them to my country gonna coast for me even more then the fursuit same would be with getting materials for to make a fursuit. Although i would love to get one it would be a miracle cuz never have been in con never in my life has seen fursuit and furry in reality would love to meet have but at the same time scared. I'm making a part of a half fursuit right now. I already made a tail and bought me paws (there not here right now, I bought them yesterday together with the fur I use for the head). I'll make my first head with a skull mask cause it's too difficult for me with foam. Ps: Please don't buy real fur, no matter whether it's ethical or not, it's cruel, and you don't have the right to wear an animal. Fake fur or yarn is much better
There is nothing wrong with buying one from there, but if you want something that is personally made for you, made from top quality, and will last, then invest your hard earned money in small business fursuit makers instead of Chinese exports. I work in Amazon now, so many items we have come through is made in China, it's not funny. Some, up and coming, makers can be a great way to get lower prices on the creator's earlier work. Remember to do your research, and dont be afraid to ask for pictures of their work, best of luck🕊
Thank you so much, yes, the free fursuits are a rare finding, but it does happen. Typically when a maker is trying to expand their name and needs some easy publicity, or it be apart of a fund raiser for a non profit organization, which gets a lot of attention since, who doesn't like free stuff?
It's a shame they use these markets tactics to target the young, inexperienced, or those who are looking for an affordable fursuit, but can not accommodate the cost for a proper quality make, which would at least maintaining an level of originality, which these knockoffs suits will never possess.

I found a lot of fursuit head bases on ebay and soft felt and fabric on amazon, there are also few fursuit heads on amazon for about £90

Also, to make your own tail, you can use yarn. Just make a yarn braid, make a bunch of clumped yarn, brush it with a pet brush, and done

There are templates tou can use to give yourself a leg up when it comes to creating a good looking head base, everything else can be learned with tutorials and some practice, don't doubt yourself before giving yourself a chance😺
Trust me you can, it all starts with your premade base or bucket head and just slowly build up till u get tthe shape you want. There's plenty of templates and tutorials on the Internet
Another idea for foam, Walmart actually sells decent amount of foam (around 4 sq ft) for about 12 dollars!

That was some pawsome advise. Hehe I'm going to be hated for it but I did get one of the knock off suits, it was more to see if I was happy wearing one with my back issues. Fur suit makers in my local city are a bloody rip off ($3500) for a head only so thats why I went down the $400 rip off path. I did give it away. I would recond people getting them if you just want it to try on and you don't care about the character, they are not that badly built and for there price it could answer some questions. I have also found a reputal builder so hopefully I ight have one of my own pink tiger cub Sprinklz one day.

Awesome, I've built on a resin base once, and it was a different approach from foam since the ground work was already there, so any adjustments really could only be made by adding more material, unless one were to dremel resin.

Amazon has the same scams as ebay now, and they like to delete reviews that warn people about scams (they seem to be helping scammers now... I'ma have to stop using them for products). I've seen good things on etsy but haven't ordered anything from them yet so I don't know how reliable they are yet. I've also seen some bases on temu but haven't ordered any there yet. The dealership looks pretty good, a little expensive for some things but cheaper for others so always shop around.
On a side note, I love this community and think it is the perfect expression of American freedom. If Anyone Ever gives you a hard time for this, tell them they are in the wrong country and to "try one of the middle eastern countries, they seem to share your values closer than America". Stay happy, stay furry, and put some ventilation in your heads and/or fans (heat stroke is bad and it's easy enough to avoid :-).

If you want really this, keep your voaks obtainable and add a small piece to your fursuit till you have the whole thing.
Save the body suit for last as you will continue to grow into your late teen years and out grow the body suit.
If you want to make your own, practice with cheap fur first, then move up when your skill improves. Remember, sales at fabric shops and tutorials will you your greatest ali when crafting.

Yes, you can buy a fully body suit on there, just check with the store owner if you have questions about the product or service.
It is but make sure to do your research.
Is it ok to wear a tail, paws and ears without a head? I'm a beginner furry and cant find a straight answer. Its mainly for medical reasons I can not have anything too heavy on me as I could dislocate my knee again.
I'm not a doctor, but my my mate has the same problems with here joints. Wearing fursuit items that are similar in weight to your regular cloths or, spandex wear if your going to be fursuiting a long time, should be easy on your joins since you would mearly be wearing two layers.
The size and weight of a tail is going to be where most of your weight comes from. Your average small tail can weight under a pound, your medium tail about a 1 1/2 Lbs and larger tail and floor-draggers can weight upwards of 5 to 7 pounds, but you may be able to get them lighter based of what stuffing is used inside.
What can also help you immensely, is to apply knee wraps to add support to your joints, weight lifters use these and can safely lift hundreds of pounds.

Mold can occur with those, better to be safe. U can't wear paper suits long if ur planning to wear it out

However these prices are incredibly cheap compared to getting it custom made, its still way too expensive for i and many people. As for this, ive bought a dinomask as a base. They save so much money, and templates/tutorials for paws, feet etc. are incredibly cheap too!
Oh yes, for sure, it's usually a master move to buy fur and foam from places like the groups I mentioned in the video to get discounts on fur grab bags and foam. For those who lack the artistic edge, the premade make it easier and more affordable way to enter the fursuiting hobby without sacrificing quality.
Like how you explain in good way how safe more money and how those websites work. I probably could not made my own cuz i feel its kinda hard. Also i since i live in that kinda place where are no furries to buy from website be still expense cuz traveling them to my country gonna coast for me even more then the fursuit same would be with getting materials for to make a fursuit. I'm making a part of a half fursuit right now. I already made a tail and bought me paws (there not here right now, I bought them yesterday together with the fur I use for the head). I'll make my first head with a skull mask cause it's too difficult for me with foam.
Ps: Please don't buy real fur, no matter whether it's ethical or not, it's cruel, and you don't have the right to wear an animal. Fake fur or yarn is much better

There is nothing wrong with buying one from there, but if you want something that is personally made for you, made from top quality, and will last, then invest your hard earned money in small business fursuit makers instead of Chinese exports. I work in Amazon now, so many items we have come through is made in China, it's not funny. Some, up and coming, makers can be a great way to get lower prices on the creator's earlier work. Remember to do your research, and dont be afraid to ask for pictures of their work, best of luck🕊

Thank you so much, yes, the free fursuits are a rare finding, but it does happen. Typically when a maker is trying to expand their name and needs some easy publicity, or it be apart of a fund raiser for a non profit organization, which gets a lot of attention since, who doesn't like free stuff?

It's a shame they use these markets tactics to target the young, inexperienced, or those who are looking for an affordable fursuit, but can not accommodate the cost for a proper quality make, which would at least maintaining an level of originality, which these knockoffs suits will never possess.
