FIXING an ALIEXPRESS Kigurumi “Fursuit”

It was a fun process to fix this up to become my fursona. It certainly kept me busy and also had me try some things I hadn’t before.

For your sensory issues, 3D printed and resin heads can both be designed to have no contact with your face. Mine sort of fit like a hat/helmet
Im a fursuit maker not a professional or anything, but Ive made over 10 fursuit heads and specifically do kemono fursuit styles (not the kigu mask ones, but more of the big foam ones) but the The caved in back of the head is honestly important. I used to make fursuits with foam fully around the head and back of the head but youll be baked alive. I now do it with a gap on the back of the head for heat to escape from. Also the unlined fur/bangs is also super common but you can use a doggy bristle brush on the back to pull some hair through! makes it look double sided without it being to rounded by a double layer or fur. Also your head turned out super adorable! ^^ The reason yours is small and not bigger is because those kigu masks are different from a "Kemono" fursuit heads.

the other part of the discorse surrounds around how much are the sweatshops paying their workers to make these masks.. yes, compared to a fursuit, its less materials so less cost.. but even then if these are going for 80$ exactly how much of that is going to the hands who made it...

Sucks but just about anything you buy on Amazon or just in general probably comes from a sweatshop, or from someone who isn't paid but like 2 cents. pretty hard to avoid it.

Wow!!! I’m not a furry at all but I’m impressed by the craftsmanship ! It’s really gorgeous and I think the eyelashes and the pink eyeliner is my favorite part. If you ever do I’d think a neopolitan fursuit would look really cool! 🍨🍓🍫

I got one of these suits awhile ago before the price went down. It was THREE HUNDRED. Yes, I regret it.
But here are some differences between mine and hers!!
Quality issues- Aside from the hairs backing being undone, I had none of those other issues!
Her nose is glued on very well. I've had no issues with it. When I had taken her eyelashes off to make my own I nearly ripped the minky, it was ON there.
Differences- The foam on the inside originally wasnt included, it was just a very hard plastic strip you'd have to pad yourself. And though this is small, the buckle on the neck fur was attached very poorly on mine, but yours looks sturdier.
Anyhow, thanks for reading my random youtube comment! She did a really good job, ive been trying and trying to seperate my suit from its massed produced face and simply struggle, hers is very individual and hard to tell at first impressions!

You made it so much cuter than before! I was considering buying this back then for cosplay but after hearing about the ventilation issues I immediately changed my mind. Buying it wouldn’t be a great choice if you live in a tropical country 😭

Wataru is probably my favorite character of all time! Definitely top 3. I've cosplayed various fits of his (feature scout, fine ! uniform, school uniform, tempest) and also have a huge flag of him in my room lol.

super cute results for fixing up a mass produced kigu mask. I'm going to be starting on my own fursuit head in the next couple months, using a bunch of scrap fur, its what I can get my hands on. don't know if I can manage making a youtube video about it, but I will be taking tons of pictures, for the learning process. again, great work! you deserve more subscribers.

AWW ty!! I wouldn't do comissions of repairing these suits just because the ventilation is poor and I wouldn't want to put anyone in danger. That being said I'd love to try making fursuits someday!

It's actually "kemono" style. Kigurumi is an adult onesie that alot of furries make look like their characters. :3
"Kigurumi (fursuit)" and "Kigurumi (onesie)" are different actually! Kigurumi refers to those onesies you see, but it also refers to anime masks you commonly see in Japan :D (animegao kigurumi)
Kemono fursuits are more round and have a kawaii look
I think they originated from animegao so maybe that's what they should be called lol i refer to them as kigurumi masks tho
explaining kigurumi anime masks (animegao) and kigurumi cosplays:
It is a mask made to look like an anime character, or even a ball-jointed doll, since these masks are often made of a non-toxic resin. Sometimes, people dress up and fully cover themselves from head to toes, wearing cute dresses or suits, nylon gloves and socks and nylon coverings on the neck to conceal their real skin and look more doll-like.
Also, when saying "furry kigurumi"/"kemono kigurumi", its literally saying "fursuit" in Japanese. If looking for japanese suit creators, "kemono kigurumi" is literally what they use to refer to their creations.
Then, we have kigurumi pajama. It is a onesie pajama themed like an animal or famous character.

Thank you for making this video! I recently received one of these masks as a gift from a friend who isn't a furry. It has the same hair colour as my fursona so I've wanted to customize it.
I'm not familiar with chalk pastels, what stops it from smudging? Mine is a blue tiger which white stripes and I'm not sure if chalk pastels would be the right route for that.
This is a good question! I think they're actually called "soft pastels" (my friend gave me the box- I wasn't too familiar with them either). I used Got2B spray immediately after applying the pastels and that's worked very well for preventing smudging!
For designs like tiger stripes, I'm not too sure how safe they'd be. Perhaps using minimal amount of the dust itself and using a thicker amount of Got2B?
Or you could try using fabric paint, you'll have more control over where it goes and how sharp your lines are. Just dont forget to seal it.

i love kigurumis!! ive been SO CLOSE to dropping a few hundred on kigurumi heads on etsy/alibaba, itd probably be better for me to just make or get a custom one lmao

If you're shooting for a mass produced one the ones on etsy are pretty affordable (40-70 dollars)! Custom made ones are usually in the 300-900 range. And thank you so much!
I have a doki doki studio suit but tbh ALWAYS go through a smaller creator bc they were just SOOO upriced from the actual prices from the indivudual suit makers in the studio.. they also didnt ask for my measurements or anything so it rubs against my face weird and tbh for 900 dollars it wasnt worth it. i will always go through smaller creators. i still love my suit its just disappointing for having spend THAT MUCH on it

Oh also Will the chalk/pastel rub off? Like will you have to reapply is every few months or something?
I tried sealing the freckles with Got2B glued spray! I put eyeshadow in wigs all the time and that seals it in pretty well so it should hold but I don't doubt I'll have to brush them up at some point.

9:30 what are you spraying on the head? is that a sealant for the pastels, and if so, what is it? if i make a fursuit in the future, i'd need to do something similar around the eyes and for dark markings on my fursona's ears, so it would be useful to know
@@N_Drogyny I used Got2B glued spray usually used for cosplay wigs! Worked pretty well with short fur. Idk about long fur though. Also… Antonio pfp?

Hate how people buy these so much. I wish it wasnt normalized cus its not what fursuiting is. Its taking profit from what was supposed to be art and self expression. It just turns it into a trend like shein to alternative styles
I see the point you're making! I personally don't agree it's like Shein, considering Shein is meant to encourage microtrends and mass consumption, while these genuinely just seem to be a cheaper alternative. They're durable and I doubt those who purchase them will cycle through them. I still see your point though as it makes a product out of art!
