I'm about to make a tail from a red Christmas stocking my mom did not want anymore... It's going to be a challenge but I did use the stocking to make a fuzzy sock pony plush before... The stocking was the hair and tail... I can also use a old clean fuzzy sock as well for the small details if needed... I'm more impressed that it looks relatively like a low to mid paid fursuit head, when it's probably made with materials for less than 50$. I'm actually glad I came across your video because I've been really wanting to get into the fursuit making process and with money being relatively tight right now, I don't want to spend minimum 30$ on just upholstery foam.
If you wanted to, you could line the eyes with black/dark elastic! That usually makes suits look more “clean” or “finished” if that what your looking for! 😊

Me who doesn't even have fur, foam, or any kind of base. I can't even sew, we don't have hot glue, and nobody in my family knows I'm a furry so i cam't ask them. BUT I WANNA MAKE A FURSUITTTT HHHHH
if you want to try something like this but don't have fur, an alternative you can use is fleece if the character has super short fur or none at all. that and old blankets, clothing, throw pillows, etc. can yield some good scraps and resources! you can even brush out yarn for some fluff if you want (though that's a LOT of effort)! all this to say you don't need to stick to conventional materials if you really set your mind to it, after all creating a fursuit/costume is about how much joy it brings you. with some creativity and resourcefulness the possibilities are endless! :-)
As someone who makes fursuits as a hobby,and has recently made improvements to my first ever suit,I would say the eyes for one,you could definitely make the mouth have a wider smile,definitely glue it down,and besides that,for a first time fursuit head,it's not bad for only using things you have around the house. I bought a lot of professional materials for mine,and she...looks better now...but she was HORRENDOUS.

Ahhh be careful what foam you use!! Some foam can be dangerous to use! I'm boy sure if mattress foam is, i know couch foam is though- so just make sure you research! Don't want you getting injured! ^^

This makes me want to try to make a prototype to test my patterns I made myself 👀 not for an actual suit but for, like I said, a prototype to see where my homemade patterns would need editing. Especially since I have a dragon, bird, and roo pattern that I have been working on 👀
If it's invisible fursuit, no one would even know they even wearing a fursuit because it really will look like you're not wearing one. Now you get It or not?
I'm a starter suit maker but a tip I picked up is the hot glue can make a difference. Any or all normal hot glue cant hold up when supporting that much weight. I learned that the gorilla hot glue sticks are the best to work with. My normal glue would constantly unstick. Yes, its more expensive than normal glue but it's worth the extra bucks. Plus I ended up not using as much when with the normal glue I would go through pack after pack. uwu
I’m a full year fursuit maker and I would recommend to not use cardboard on the eyes, use a thick foamies for kids at Joann’s. They are like a durable resource and don’t break down easily ^^!!💖

You said you wanted fursuit makers to give you constructive criticism, so I'm here to help you out as an experienced fursuit maker. ^^ Now, because you only used the things around the house instead of going out to buy due to qwarantaining I can't blame you, ¡I'm glad you did the right and safe thing! I can see how the ears are crooked, so I suggest using paper shaped like ears for two reasons. ¡The first reason is to have the shape of the ears, of course! The second reason is to pin the ears on the head as many tries as you can until you feel like they are in the right place for it them be symmetrical from each other, marking it down on the foam head. It's tricky, ¡so that can be helpful as a guide! As for the mouth, I can see how it doesn't really have a specific expression, it only has it open, not smiling, growling, nothing. If that is what you were going for, ¡then I DEEPLY apologize!!! But if not, let me help out and say you were trying to do a smile, as an example. I usually carve a smile after putting on the mouth. What I do is get something that can write over foam and mark a smile, from there I simply start cutting out the marks to form a smile. I don't believe I was clear on that one so I apologize if you didn't understand, I am autistic, I have trouble explaining things. '^^ Technically, it's what you did in your own way, ¡but making the corners of the mouth curving upwards! Other than those, ¡the rest look amazing (EVERYTHING IS AMAZING)! You were really creative with using a shirt with a beautiful pattern, which didn't fit you anymore, and used it for something good, ¡no wasting! You made the eyes round and SO adorable, ¡I go crazy for them! I must say, I have never seen anyone make their own fursuit head holder (maniquin head, I guess XD) made out of a double-sticked pole and a plastic bag, ¡that was very genius! And you made sure your Pocari Roo head was a good fit on it. I really enjoy your videos, ¡keep up with the amazing work!! Ps: if y'all notice any spelling mistakes and you are willing to do so, ¿may you point it out for me please? I have trouble with my English and I know for a fact I spelled 'qwarantaining' wrong. '^^

This video absolutely inspired me to try and make my own suit. I've tried my hand making kigus and patterning, but foam carving is super new to me. Thanks for the inspo and encouragement that beginners can make a pretty decent first suit
no need for a sewing machine, if you learn to double stitch so it catches back even when it breaks, and take your time to make it very dense, should be pretty strong!
Don't! Never give up, you'll just get better and better with time! It works like that with everythin'! I draw, and after years and years, I've just improved so much! And I'll keep getting better for sure!

As someone who makes fursuits as a hobby,and has recently made improvements to my first ever suit,I would say the eyes for one,you could definitely make the mouth have a wider smile,definitely glue it down,and besides that,for a first time fursuit head,it's not bad for only using things you have around the house. I bought a lot of professional materials for mine,and she...looks better now...but she was HORRENDOUS.
Honestly, its really freaking adorable, it truly looks like a stuffed animal worn out from being loved so much, great job!

Ahhh be careful what foam you use!! Some foam can be dangerous to use! I'm boy sure if mattress foam is, i know couch foam is though- so just make sure you research! Don't want you getting injured! ^^
@@tuesdayrain it's alright! It was just upholstery foam (aka craft foam). I don't use mattress foam anymore tho lol. That was the only one I used it on since back then I didn't know how to make them. I've been making suits for about 4 years noe i believe^^

I'm a starter suit maker but a tip I picked up is the hot glue can make a difference. Any or all normal hot glue cant hold up when supporting that much weight. I learned that the gorilla hot glue sticks are the best to work with. My normal glue would constantly unstick. Yes, its more expensive than normal glue but it's worth the extra bucks. Plus I ended up not using as much when with the normal glue I would go through pack after pack. uwu

I’m a full year fursuit maker and I would recommend to not use cardboard on the eyes, use a thick foamies for kids at Joann’s. They are like a durable resource and don’t break down easily ^^!!💖
Definitely take the time to glue the fur down but other then that he’s EXTREMELY well done for ypur first suit

¡You did an amazing job on your first fursuit head! You said you wanted fursuit makers to give you constructive criticism, so I'm here to help you out as an experienced fursuit maker. ^^
Now, because you only used the things around the house instead of going out to buy due to qwarantaining I can't blame you, ¡I'm glad you did the right and safe thing! I can see how the ears are crooked, so I suggest using paper shaped like ears for two reasons. ¡The first reason is to have the shape of the ears, of course! The second reason is to pin the ears on the head as many tries as you can until you feel like they are in the right place for it them be symmetrical from each other, marking it down on the foam head. It's tricky, ¡so that can be helpful as a guide!
As for the mouth, I can see how it doesn't really have a specific expression, it only has it open, not smiling, growling, nothing. If that is what you were going for, ¡then I DEEPLY apologize!!! But if not, let me help out and say you were trying to do a smile, as an example. I usually carve a smile after putting on the mouth. What I do is get something that can write over foam and mark a smile, from there I simply start cutting out the marks to form a smile. I don't believe I was clear on that one so I apologize if you didn't understand, I am autistic, I have trouble explaining things. '^^ Technically, it's what you did in your own way, ¡but making the corners of the mouth curving upwards!
Other than those, ¡the rest look amazing (EVERYTHING IS AMAZING)! You were really creative with using a shirt with a beautiful pattern, which didn't fit you anymore, and used it for something good, ¡no wasting! You made the eyes round and SO adorable, ¡I go crazy for them! I must say, I have never seen anyone make their own fursuit head holder (maniquin head, I guess XD) made out of a double-sticked pole and a plastic bag, ¡that was very genius! And you made sure your Pocari Roo head was a good fit on it. I really enjoy your videos, ¡keep up with the amazing work!!
Ps: if y'all notice any spelling mistakes and you are willing to do so, ¿may you point it out for me please? I have trouble with my English and I know for a fact I spelled 'qwarantaining' wrong. '^^

This video absolutely inspired me to try and make my own suit. I've tried my hand making kigus and patterning, but foam carving is super new to me. Thanks for the inspo and encouragement that beginners can make a pretty decent first suit

no need for a sewing machine, if you learn to double stitch so it catches back even when it breaks, and take your time to make it very dense, should be pretty strong!

Another thing (skipped through mostly cus out-of-suit and humans are just ehh to look at, ive been spoiled by being online for so long, nothing against ya) Lumpy is pretty DAMN cute for a home-built partial with so little material! i do like the large eyes, even if they are a little flat haha, id love to see more of him :3 love the plaid patch aesthetic tho!
