Been into furry shit for like 20 years and most people are chill, but when you meet someone wild they are WILD wild - I do believe a lot of it is down to folk being shunned when they're younger usually due to something related to lgbt or mental illness behind the scenes, and you can go two routes when that happens. One sadly being buying into a horrible bias of the world being against you and becoming outwardly vitriolic and obsessively paranoid. Not a furry thing, but sadly common, extremist behaviours have a pattern that gets ignored too often until the person explodes and does something horrible
Agreed in every sense, although I haven’t been in the fandom as long. The normal peeps in the fandom are as friendly as can be, but when you’re in a fandom with.. “extreme” people, those extremes are crazier than the usual.
@@dryfox11 Very True, kinda sad that even though such people are in smaller numbers, the damage that they do is... to put it lightly, *underestimated.*
Often the problem roots in condoning antisemitism in most fur groups. Antisemitism is what incubates political bullying biases and often is protected when they are admins or leaders even. I speak this out of mine and other members experience in a group I’m in at Tennessee. As I’ve often been exposed to antisemitic jokes loosely being tossed and made me feel often uncomfortable. I understand and am aware this is a state that harbors such people. It’s just shameful I have to face it by no choice as I’ve been forced to move here due to parents
@@Regarded69 Antifur (bit of an ironic name), yeah. Truth be told, I can't really vouch for their numbers because I don't keep up with them. I think there's two camps, one who uses the furry fandom with their group and another which coincidentally happens to have members which are also furry. One doesn't drive the other, if that makes any sense? About a decade ago, it was pretty taboo to even bring any kind of politics into the fandom because the topic was so divisive and volatile. And we just wanted to talk about fictional animals anyway. And there's still many who believe in that idea, myself included.
As someone who's been in the furry community for over a decade as a Constitutionalist, trust me there's actually more extreme radical left wing people than extreme radical right wing, but both have some pretty radical views that any sane human being would hear and say "That's disgusting" but I don't think that's a topic we should bring forward when I'm just waking up.

Yes, this is one of the things that I do not like, even if most furries do hate z00philes. The issue is that often the zoos create a sort of 'sub-stratum' where they hide from the eyes of other furries. It would be like those who claim to be otakus/weebs but also look at guro/L0L1/sh0ta stuff in secret. Not that there are furries who cover for their depraved 'friends', but luckily most furries are more than willing to report and expose these animal m0lesters.
Idk about now but when I lived I'm Denver there was A LOT of furries. Way more than I thought there would be. I used to work at the Good Times on Colfax and Washington and at around 2am we would get a group of furries come up to get food. I was shocked the first time. Lol I never saw furries out in public with full fursuit and all.
@@loricproject6878 I've yet to see it in either San Diego or Chicago. So Idk what it is about Seattle and Denver. Venice beach as the person below you mentioned, I'm not surprised. You see all kinds of weird ass people in and around LA and above.
when furries get mad about something, they reaaaaally go berserk on twitter and any other social media. most things i've seen are furries fighting themselves online, be it for serious stuff (like the topic you spoke of), or very petty stuff like someone with a blue cat character being accused of stealing someone else's character because their cat character is blue too. it can't get crazier, and yet, somehow, furries manage to exceed that expectation and get crazier. honestly, it's sad to see a community like this that is known for being open and welcoming frequently struggling with either bad apples or scaring people away by their lack of self-control. how they still are able to hold their community together by threads, no idea, but i've seen so much drama, to the point where i question if they should keep calling themselves a welcoming community. i'd call them an artistic community where you have to be careful about how you act or who you associate with because one wrong move and you're being bullied out and your whole social life gets put under the loop. obviously the extremist ones are the worst of the bunch, along with the pedo's, zoophiles and such. they sadly stain those who are the good guys. but can't those who are supposed to be the good guys stop attacking themselves for once over petty stuff?
We hold our community together by the fact that there is no community, we're a demographic. Whoever fits the very loose criteria (it's more of a "I know it when I see it" kinda thing) is a furry, and identifying as one is optional That's why you can't kick people out of furry and any attempt to "police" the fandom has always been and will forever be futile and normies must be educated to understand this. Also you speak about them like you're not.
4:32 Wehrmacht or heer to be exact didn't wear armbands, SS did but mostly inside germany in the early years or on special ocasions. They were mostly a nsdap thing.
But seriously, what's up with there being so many child predators in the furry community? Is that just a predatory tactic to use their suit to appeal to children, particularly ones having enough issues to want to hide behind a fake persona? And not like I'll get any replies on a 1 month old comment, but I'm not implying all furries are pedos, but you have to admit there's a trend.

@uggibug3803 It was even before that, it was just more underground so that regular ppl didn't know how degenerate and sick many of them really were. It goes back into the 70s and even the 60s, many of the founders were zoophiles and pedos trying to normalize those things while hiding their faces and true intentions.
It started way b4 that. I tried to explain it already, but apparently my comments are not kosher enough for this channel, so I am not allowed to actually tell you the history...🤡

Hey @TomDark, to correct some history, Wehrmacht was the regular side of the army in the German military during WW2, a (mostly) nonpolitical affiliated portion of soldiers that were conscripted but supported Hitler and did whatever they were told but never wore the suit and tie armband deal. Those that DID however, were very heavily involved in Nazi politics and events were the SS and Brownshirts. There used to be a lot more "normal right-wing" furries, but they mostly left around when the commies flooded in. You still see a lot of boomers following certain artists on FA, but the rest p.much just decided "You know what? I don't need this. I've got a job, I've got family and friends IRL I could be spending time with instead of slogging through all this political posturing, I'm outta here." And alas, most of the centrists and relatively-sane left-of-center furries left with them. I miss when N*zi Furs were just furries who liked the uniforms and commie furs weren't allowed to leave Tumblr.
Sorry but I've got to let out my history buff side. The Weremacht was the regular German army, and didn't begin sporting the swastika as part of their uniforms until the angry austrian painter took control of Germany. It's well stated that the weremacht and the waffen SS nearly never saw eye to eye, if ever. Even Erwin Rommel himself refused to allow SS troops into his ranks. On top of this, a large majority of, if not almost all of the weremacht never shared the N*azi's ideals or beliefs.
Cool to cherry-pick the one famous dude who didn't allow SS troops in his army because he was stationed in Africa and the Middle-East, places where there really is no need for the 'services' the SS troops provide. Also, the German army REALLY benefited from a government that gave them a huge amount of manpower, materials and propaganda support, which means that the Nazis DID have a lot of power over the army and were able to tell them what to do even if the army 'didn't want to'. Also, the German army participated in destroying villages, giving over refugees and POWs to SS, shooting political prisoners of war on sight, etc.; The German military was filled with people both in power and in the trenches who believed in the same things the Nazis did simply because they also came from the same backdrop as the Nazis. They believed in eugenics, they believed in 'might makes right', they believed in destroying their enemies and re-making Europe into one where Germany is the superpower and all others are silent.
If you don't realize this is Nazi apologist rhetoric you are a very very silly person The Wehrmacht committed a number of war crimes and also participated in the extermination of prisoners in the Holocaust
@@GraphiteShores wasn’t cherry picking but okay. Rommel is just a really good example but allow me to provide more. A very large majority of the weremacht was revealed to not entirely agree with Nazi ideals, nor even see hitler as a true leader. But unfortunately, he held the power. He had the Waffen SS and he controlled the government. So, in many unfortunate circumstances the weremacht was controlled with fear. Either you fought for the Nazi war machine, and for the “Glory of the fatherland” or your family, and you were either imprisoned, or executed as political dissidents. You say I cherry picked but you went and did the same thing, just you happened to point out ONLY the ones that were loyal and decided to say nothing about the ones that had no choice in the matter. Let’s also not forget about operation Valkyrie, in which a group of some of the highest ranking officers of the weremacht and the German government planned, and attempted a military rebellion against Hitler and the Nazis. On top of all that, like another comment said, the Weremacht occasionally disagreed with the SS to the point of refusing to even follow orders that had them alongside each other. Let’s not forget either the famous battle of castle Itter, where forces of the German Weremacht, under the command of Colonel Josef Gangel joined forces with an American Airborne company to fight off a force of around 150 SS troops. But let me guess that’s just more “Cherry picking”
Furries have to be one the most diverse groups out there with all sorts of people. Good and bad, weird and normal, young and old, etc. It's all there. Honestly, it's a large group where no single trait could be applied to them all.
Well not surprised, furries are humans, most of them having fursuits, and humans are well, pretty much self explanatory when it comes to our entire history.
@@Aimela136I’d say that’s mainly due to how accepting the fandom is.. when your group is the weirdest of the weird, you don’t really have room to judge others interests (unless it’s ILLEGAL LOL) and anyone will get welcomed with opened arms, regardless of not knowing everything about them.
I keep my sanity by taking a break from my serious life which is rewarding but has its own issues by watching things i could die without knowing and reminding myself that in one way or another we are all weird and enjoy to step out of normality sometimes haha

I'm very furry friendly. I've been a part of the brony fandom for several years and I even have a ponysona... but I don't feel like I would fit into the furry fandom. I like anthros, I like looking at people's fursuit designs, I like watching shows with talking animals, reading xenofiction, etc.
However I do tend to vote Republican and I hold generally conservative viewpoints. I never let someone's orientation or politics be a barrier to my being friends with them and I'm certainly not hateful or out to get anyone, but if you don't completely affirm or believe in left wing ideas a lot of times people assume that you're some kind of hateful extremist.
I saw what happened to Lupis Vulpes and realized that if I were to join the furry fandom I'd be just as hated as she was. Not because I'm some kind of right wing extremist, but just for being a regular run of the mill conservative Christian.

Yes, this is one of the things that I do not like, even if most furries do hate z00philes. It would be like those who claim to be otakus/weebs but also look at guro/L0L1/sh0ta stuff in secret. Not that there are furries who cover for their depraved 'friends', but luckily most furries are more than willing to report and expose these animal m0lesters.

I used to work at the Good Times on Colfax and Washington and at around 2am we would get a group of furries come up to get food. I was shocked the first time. Lol I never saw furries out in public with full fursuit and all.
Same thing happens here in seattle too
I've seen a small group of them at Venice Beach out on the sidewalk. My dad and his girlfriend at the time were so intrigued and confused

@uggibug3803 It was even before that, it was just more underground so that regular ppl didn't know how degenerate and sick many of them really were.
Exactly what I was going to say, the Wehrmacht hated the SS to the point of disobeying orders.
the Wehrmacht is a nazi thing if it wasnt it would have still been called the Reichswehr
If you don't realize this is Nazi apologist rhetoric you are a very very silly person
The Wehrmacht committed a number of war crimes and also participated in the extermination of prisoners in the Holocaust

Some furries I met on Twitter were actually cool. Never thought I'd say that.
That intro was wild as fuck. "Most furries are lefties and they are cool, but oh those right-wing furries, man. They are really out there" wtf?
See my issue with furries and why I like to rag on them so much(and hope one day gets outright banned somehow) is that it creates a space in which things that normally would not be tolerated still kinda happens more often than you would think.
