this is outstanding! we have a 2000 and a 2004, both with the same stuttering issue in the mid-rpms. now i'm not so intimidated on cleaning them up :)
You are welcome honestly wasn’t so bad I have since taken apart many carbs and have gotten lots of my friends stuff running for them as well too. Glad I jumped in and gave it a shot also have gotten a lot better at filming stuff since this and actually have a wide angle now so people can see what I’m doing. I hope this was helpful

The stuttering issue I have on mine aswell. It is not the carb. I have cleaned mine about 30 times and checked the needle and adjusted everything and nothing worked. It is actually a sensor in the front that you just need to unplug. That seemed to work for me. Look up a video and it should pop up as a black warrior with the lights off watch that and he will tell you exactly what to do

You never said what the problem was. I assume it was stuttering off idle at low throttle settings and stalling at idle. The PILOT JET was clogged and that controls IDLE and up to 1/3 throttle as the needle and main jet take over from there. Usually a can of Carb cleaner like you have there or CHEMTOOL B12 will clean out the jets, especially with a wire brush that has small enough wires to push clear thru the jets. That ohaul kit is sweet. Not always necessary. It always a good idea to clean out the passages before you put the new jets in. Tiny particles can cause havoc. Put a FUEL FILTER between the tank and carb!!!!

Your welcome if you have a hard time you can use brake cleaner as a penetration oil to try and help you get stuck parts off.

I bought my 1997 Yamaha warrior about 2 months ago didn’t start up got a new starter, battery and stuff like that this is my first vehicle and fist time working on a vehicle and I love it it’s fun and I feel productive doing it your video really helped me with this one :).

Is that plastic bowl really needed because my last carb had one and this new one I got didn’t come with one but now the carb keeps flooding I just wanna know if that’s the reason why
Rece Gribble I would say yes. Also make sure your floats are level it they raise up too high it will allow too much fuel to go threw and flood it.

I believe it would most carbs are the same or very similar.
Where the hell doe the little 5 inch black breather hose go on the top back carb? Been trying to find there everywhere. I see a little tab with a hole in it? Does it just go in there?

@@throttlefamily4655 If it's just a breather tube my 03 has a tab in the frame with a little hole just big enough to press the hose in to hold it. I'm guessing that tab is meant for that hose. Only thing I can come up with.
I looked around for a spot for it on ours as well but as of right now it is just on the top curved to the side. I wouldn’t worry to much just make sure the bottom vent tubes are facing the ground as gas will come out from them if the quad gets sideways or the quad floods.
I don't know why buy my carb has 2 cables one goes through the top woth 3 screws and then the other spot like yours
what do those two short black hoses go to? i have them on mine and they don't seem to hook anywhere.
I believe they are just vent lines and don’t technically go anywhere.
The top one is vent the lower is drain

@@throttlefamily4655 ok good cause I'm really stressing. I've worked on my 350 wolverine 2days in a row. No it won't start . My carb doesn't have any holes on the side of the little things that screw inside . I have took it apart 3 times and had it running good till I put the air filter on it . And I can't find the oil filter either . 😭
Penny Scott check the pilot and main jet and make sure nothing got clogged in there. I had one time where I kept cleaning the jets and it was contamination from the gas tank that kept clogging them up

My four screws on the bowl will not turn what can I do
Get a hammer and hit the screwdriver while trying to turn them.
I used my ryobi impact with proper bit and out they came. Replaced with new ones using anti seize

tattoed mufasa yes they do crazy pull start and electric start plus it’s an 86 so that’s pretty high tech for the time 👍
