Man this is what I love and why I had submitted before, you respect every quad with the same amount of understanding of sport atvs and history of the sport quad. You can have a good time on a suspensionless three wheeler like a 185s, some people grew up on warriors and still rip them hard to this day!
I don’t care what anyone says I bought a 1987 warrior about 2 years ago and once I got all of the little kinks worked out of it it has been the most reliable bike I have ever owned and it is still on the original top end and runs perfect after 30+ years of ripping you should definitely build one one day mike 🤟
Yeah I own a '87 love it right up until trying to get it to start again after I did the rebuild come to find out kind of parts do not work for a Yamaha most of the time especially the 87 but I'm working through it getting it all back together I also own a 01 350 warrior that I'll start on after I get this one completely done hit me up if you want to see pictures
@@MichaelSabo i had a 05 trx 300ex was one of the best 4 wheelers I ever had when it came to trail Riding sadly I wanted something faster cause everyone I rode with had 450s so I got a freshly rebuilt 04 ltz400 great 4 wheeler but I definitely miss the 300ex I would highly recommend an love to see u build one for the trails one day man
Nice build. I really appreciate the effort and attention to detail that he put in to this quad. It is not always about who has more power it is about having fun. I bet he has way more fun on this machine than 90 percent of riders out there.
I did a warrior build over the winter and it was fun and rewarding. I focused keeping mine stock looking but with a 366 big bore kit and new carb. My nephew also did the same big bore kit but changed the color and changed the front suspension like the one in the video. Anyway I highly recommend building a warrior for yourself or as a father son/daughter project.
im doing exactly this rn to my warrior it was my uncles that passed away it sat for years and i got it passed down to me, had blast on it tbh beat the hell out of it but im now fixing her up right and getting new parts installed i wanna swap out as much as i can for this machine for my uncle :) warriors are freaking awesome quads
I started on a 87 red warrior at like 8years old. back in the day they were the fastest 4 stroke quad. my brother also had a 88 white and blue just like the picture you posted. they were so reliable . they are tanks for sure
I've got an 87 an I would like to know what a arm's an shocks will fit. All other frames will work with one another but the 87 has to have everything different
I’m happy to say I’m buying my first ever quad tomorrow it’s a ‘03 warrior 350 for $750 from this guy in my neighborhood it’s a steal of a price! Can’t wait for tomorrow and the winter
Man that's a sick warrior. I've always had a soft spot for those quads. I grew up with my dad owning a near mint 87 Warrior and I have had a couple of them that were pretty sweet. Bulletproof quads that need nearly nothing to run.
I'm glad he mentioned the "old forms" the warriors have little electrical gremlins, one of being the reverse/parking break rev limiter. I was literally ready to sell mine for $50 when I found a helpful tip from the forms. Swap a couple plugs under the hood piece, good to go👌
I bought a 2004 warrior one year ago. I’ve ridden it twice. Once to get it home and once around the block cause I had to move it to the other side of my garage. I never liked quads just bikes but I got it for so little I couldn’t say no. Plus if anyone ever wanted to ride it they can.
I'm glad you sad something about the lights. However, just like the 400ex, they are a signature piece. But they need some cleaning. I would add some orange graphics. I think that would complete the look!
that warrior is beautiful. i've always wanted one. i remember when i was around 13, i lived near a yamaha dealership and would go there often with my dad and sit on the warriors they had. i'm 32 now and still am on the hunt to find one. to this day, i just like the way it looks and its just an all around great 4 wheeler that can cater to both young and old riders.
Man I have to say watching your RUclips channel made me take my time on stuff I have a dark teal and red 1994 yamaha warrior I've completely rebuilt it I'm 15 and got it when I turned 14 this fourwheeler was my first quad and I love it there reliable and have decent power I've rebuilt the top end and replaced alot of motor parts I've done 90% by myself and couldn't be more greatful your channel has definitely helped me keep up the awesome videos.
Whats up Mike, thank you for the awesome video! To Jason, great job on that Warrior build. I rode a family members in the early 90s and for the longest time was a favorite for me. This build brought back some memories. Great job fellas!!
@Andrey Angere Noticeable, for sure yes. Earth shattering, no. Would I do it again, yes. Possibly even go stage 2, but I heard you need to change the springs and possibly some other stuff, and I wasn't willing to tear it down again. I'm happy with the setup as is for now. It much faster than stock, and I can keep up with the faster quads.
I baught a 2002 Yamaha warrior but I rebuilt it and changed out the crank for a fresh hotrod's crank shaft and high performance piston and stage 2 Cam with all this built up I got mine well over 65mph with a big bore 366cc build it's a beast it's also got the tusk racing clutch kit into it
I love this build. I love a nice unique build something different than everybody else is doing. My first quad was a 86 Honda 250 x I absolutely loved that machine. I would love to get one of those one day and do a full restoration on it. Just a nostalgia build haha
Yamaha warrior was prob the most common machine when we were growing up. I think everyone I know including myself had atleast 1. Your right there not super fast but fun, he upgraded the suspension which was prob there biggest downfall. He did a great job.
My step-dad had a warrior with these massive PIAA aftermarket headlights and a super sick DG finned exhaust. That thing sounded awesome and got him in trouble a few times🤣. Because of that I've always had a soft spot for warriors.

Yo momma!! I got a warrior that’s what I started with run perfect to this day. Big bore, 12.1 compression with oil cooler mod, +2 American star racing aarms and love it
I was in high school in the early 00's and lots of kids talked up the warrior all the time. So everyone thought they were incredibly dope. Now as an adult, it turns out their not that impressive. But still very cool because of all the hype when I was younger
I am in the process of buying a 93 rm250, the motors are blown one has a good top end but bad bottom end and the other is the exact opposite, the frame is broken in a couple of places but it's just the silencer hanger and the header hanger. But me and my best friend are going to make a build out of it, we did a similar build on my rm125
First sport quad I ever owned was a blue 98 warrior, yes they were tanks, both reliability wise and handling wise, lol. Traded for a 400 ex,+500$ cash, then traded the 400ex for my 86 250r and got 500 cash back on it (still own it). So I essentially traded a warrior for my 250r lol. This was in like 2002. Wish I could still trade that way today!
also the 350 warrioor runs the same stock sprockets as the 660 raptor stock sprockets are a 13 tooth front and 40 tooth rear sprocket my 96 warrior is bone stock
i just traded my old farm truck for a 89 warrior today it has a full exauhst and a big bore and some other stuff i dont remember all what but its really fun
Never knocked on anyone out riding. Everyone starts somewhere, everyone has a different riding style, not everyone has the means for a new bike. Too many people try to keep up with the Jones's just have your own style.
As long as you got them knees in the breese who cares what someone else says or thinks. Love watching pal you can see the pride you take in everything that you do.
You should do a video on all the quads and bikes you currently own. An introduction, walk around, personal experience and review, and plans. Would be cool to see an update on the kfx 450r along with some riding footage. If you do, give me a shout out 🤙🤙🤞🤞
I own an 87 all original and still running only engine work has been valve adjustment and carb clean could probably use a arm bushing but other than that it's good and my kids use it all the time bought it 2yr ago had set for 7 yrs cleaned the carb and fired right up best $140 I've ever spent
Yamaha Warriors are legendary an aren't beginner machines! They have 22hp i believe stock. Pretty good suspension esp considering when came out (80s /early 90s) when I was a teen. I never rode one either! Now I have 2 Yamaha sport quads:) '10 YFZ450X (super low hrs) & new Raptor 700R-SE now. Love Yamaha! #Fox #Yamaha #Ford
Awesome build have always loved the warriors, rode many ,I actually just picked up the 350 raptor to build back for the wife and son to piss around on as I blow buy on the banshee or raptor
I had my warrior setup more for mx and I used really low mile banshee shocks. I alwAys loved the way it jumped. ..and the 6-speed was very welcome...sorry I sold it for a YZ.
It’s hard to find stuff for my old warrior then ….. I bought a Wolverine 350 4x4 either you can’t find parts or they are expensive as f but I love um both and there industructable
Other than motor mods from Weston. I would have gusseted the frame before powder coat. Add some powermadd hand guards to protect from roost. Really clean build. Reminds me of my old 300ex using parts from bigger machines to improve it. I don't know if a banshee rear shock would be better than a Warrior. I used a friends rear warrior shock for a few weeks and found it alright. Similar to a banshee.
Warriors are just great all around quads. There's really not much you can't do on a warrior they really do quite well with anything you throw at them. I own a warrior and a raptor 660r for me just wanting to fuck around my warrior is my go to. When I want to tear shit up it's the 660.
I deff would have at least freshened up the motor. Cam chain and tensioners, top end kit, and done the head port work like u did on the 400ex. Nothing crazy. Freshened up. And a little more air flow to compliment the pipe. And jets of course. But yeah my colors would've been gun metal chrome and black. Sweet build for sure!!!
it doesn't matter what other people think, if it make you happy do your own thing.
Betttttttt
Real talk.
Fuck yes man do what makes you happy and feel good
Okayyyy?

Next winters project... maybe, lol
This should have been the Halloween special with those colors
Great video thanks for sharing
