Having had a 4wd van (OFF ROAD FITTED) with roof lights that were ALL LED I could see almost as good as having the main brights on. BUT - I had a 6way circuit going up to the top-mounted, ROOF-RACK load bar. Operated by a BIG BLACK SWITCHBOX between the front seats. That allowed me to have. Just an outside pair of 21W ORANGE CAB lights I had another switch for a FULL LENGTH OF 2M bar "white strip lights" (goodness knows how bright - as I didn't care) These were interspersed with a string of BLUE strip lights (that I could turn on or off at will) - that were good for seeing road signs at night, (especially in snow) I also had what some would call a pair DRL's (that I sometimes used during the day as DRL's) They were SPOT/FLOOD 18W agricultural LED's. Plus I also had some BIG SQUARE 48W SPOT lights (that I used as night time BRIGHTS) Above the outer ORANGE cab lights, I installed a second pair - that (along with relays in boxes at either end) - OPERATED both the cab & Extra orange lights, when the indicators were used. These doubled as SIDE FLASH & HOLD lights that I could flip LEFT OR RIGHT at will. When I did that it automatically turned off the strip white & blue LED's on THAT SIDE (irrespective of turn signals) Sometimes I'd also take LONG road trips late at night, just to play FLASH-ME's with oncoming trucks, some of which danced their lights back Thus - I know that with LED's one can safely drive anywhere at night. BUT - the way that car was used, it had NORMAL HEADLIGHT FUNCTIONS (with just the side/tail lamp circuit switched off. To assume dark running. Always 4kt up by idiots who forget that BRAKE LIGHTS / REVERSE & TURN LIGHTS light it up like a Christmas tree when those functions operate. Also - DRL's are just that - DAYLIGHT (condition) Running Lights - basically nav lights (something to let others see you - instead of YOU seeing into the distance) DRL's are simply RATHER BRIGHT DAYLIGHT LIGHTS - to be seen by others, & not suitable for use at night, (for you to see with) UNLESS they are used in tandem with a LOT of other as bright or brighter SPOTS / FLOODS Having driven a 4wd vehicle both ON ROAD and across mountainous terrain & farmland (with occasional open road trips - with just "long-haul" trucks coming late at night) I know how far the LED's allow you to see either as DRL's, or as fully kitted out SPOTS & FLOODS (with a huge array of other colours - than simply WHITE). I could see upwards of half a mile or more with everything ON - (LEDS ONLY) I could almost see as far ahead, with my normal 4wd VAN headlights (near useless "filament globes" they were) Having everything on though - I could punch holes through the darkest night, lighting up not only the road ahead, but power lines high above. That driver used normal headlights (dip & brights) and simply switched off the car's normal tail/side lights. Or simply switched everything off and TRIED to see with his DRL's (and couldn't) thus turning the main front lights on again real quick.

@@davelowets I don't know about "many". I know that in this particular case, they are not.
Having had a 4wd van (OFF ROAD FITTED) with roof lights that were ALL LED
I could see almost as good as having the main brights on.
BUT - I had a 6way circuit going up to the top-mounted, ROOF-RACK load bar.
Operated by a BIG BLACK SWITCHBOX between the front seats.
That allowed me to have.
Just an outside pair of 21W ORANGE CAB lights
I had another switch for a FULL LENGTH OF 2M bar "white strip lights" (goodness knows how bright - as I didn't care)
These were interspersed with a string of BLUE strip lights (that I could turn on or off at will) - that were good for seeing road signs at night, (especially in snow)
I also had what some would call a pair DRL's (that I sometimes used during the day as DRL's)
They were SPOT/FLOOD 18W agricultural LED's.
Plus I also had some BIG SQUARE 48W SPOT lights (that I used as night time BRIGHTS)
Above the outer ORANGE cab lights, I installed a second pair - that (along with relays in boxes at either end) - OPERATED both the cab & Extra orange lights, when the indicators were used.
These doubled as SIDE FLASH & HOLD lights that I could flip LEFT OR RIGHT at will.
When I did that it automatically turned off the strip white & blue LED's on THAT SIDE (irrespective of turn signals)
Sometimes I'd also take LONG road trips late at night, just to play FLASH-ME's with oncoming trucks, some of which danced their lights back
Thus - I know that with LED's one can safely drive anywhere at night.
Also - DRL's are just that - DAYLIGHT (condition) Running Lights - basically nav lights (something to let others see you - instead of YOU seeing into the distance)
DRL's are simply RATHER BRIGHT DAYLIGHT LIGHTS - to be seen by others, & not suitable for use at night, (for you to see with)
UNLESS they are used in tandem with a LOT of other as bright or brighter SPOTS / FLOODS
Having driven a 4wd vehicle both ON ROAD and across mountainous terrain & farmland (with occasional open road trips - with just "long-haul" trucks coming late at night)
I know how far the LED's allow you to see either as DRL's, or as fully kitted out SPOTS & FLOODS (with a huge array of other colours - than simply WHITE).
I could see upwards of half a mile or more with everything ON - (LEDS ONLY)
I could almost see as far ahead, with my normal 4wd VAN headlights (near useless "filament globes" they were)
Having everything on though - I could punch holes through the darkest night, lighting up not only the road ahead, but power lines high above.
That driver used normal headlights (dip & brights) and simply switched off the car's normal tail/side lights.
Or simply switched everything off and TRIED to see with his DRL's (and couldn't) thus turning the main front lights on again real quick.
Off into the sunset another criminal will drive.
Its called "daytime running lights" ..the front lights are on and the tail lights are out..
let's just watch for 16 minutes how the guy doing 100 mph is getting away with it.
I think police do an excellent job. Police. Police try to keep the public safe.
Don't bother watching, they called off pursuit and person got away
Lol what about that car with its taillights completely off at the 15 second mark tho 😂
Ford Mustang 🐎
👎
LA cops doing a lousy job!
Arkansas troopers > CHP/LAPD
Love the TALKS HEADS not🎉
Next time LAPD needs to turn the chase over to Arkansas State Patrol for a speedy conclusion.
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME CHP & LAPD !!! 😂 Evading Police successfully is a rush most people will never understand!! 😇
Honestly I think the L.A cops are tired of chasing people just looking for a quick 15 min of fame really and it cost the county money and Jet fuel to keep chasing them !
Reckless??? Tf He’s using his blinker and stopping at red lights and slowing down in heavy traffic definitely a great driver just on the wrong side of the law!
Yeah... just let them go. Keep an eye on your kids people. Not safe out there.
If the car has lien, then the car can be tracked. How do you think they are able to repo the cars?
these reporters have no idea what daytime running lights are
White Ghost hitting 100! 120!! 140!!! 160!!!! 180!!!!! Damn White Ghost can drive.....👍🏿
I think that’s the heli speed
@@alsodannyy 🤨 A 🚁 going 180 mph? LMAO!!! 🤣
Awesome another criminal gets away in LA
A black Dodge, at night, lost everyone beneath a bridge... 6 to 9 months ago. Perfect getaway. It did a perfect u turn beneath a bridge 🌉🌉😂😂
Nobody even chasing that guy lol that's not a pursuit 😂
CHP has statewide jurisdiction in CA. Period.
Lapd needs to be sued by anyone injured from a fleeing victim lol😂,, they cant pit a car at 10 mph, the mayor needs to go,
at this point he should have just basically drove all the way to miami beach lol
Immaculate swimming while blacked out
At least he used his blinker in that gorgeous Mustang. 🤷🏾♀️
Did he get caught? Where's the rest of the video?
Dang he got away.. dude definitely listening to kavinsky on the drive home
I guess I'm just an old-time philosophy guy I don't believe that by letting people get away with stuff that makes things better I think you have to come after them hard and with Force
Same here!
How many members of your family would you be ok with putting at risk of death? Abstract philosophizing from a couch is a lot easier than getting the better of a muscle car in heavy traffic without casualties.
typically doesn't work, just makes people worse
well it depends what they want you for. If youre a murder suspect there is no way theyre pulling off you. The mans was just speeding on the freeway like every other mustang, bmw, audi, benz, and charger lol. I hate to say it but I agree with not putting innocent by standers crossing the street or driving home with their families in danger simply to catch a speeder.
The car has front lights and brake lights. It does not have rear lights.
Reporters are having such zero knowledge about modern cars, that they think the driver keeps switching on the headlights when then see the front of the car and off when they see the back. Guys, the stationary headlights are always on about 95% of cars.
Damm! L.Akers 😢
rage...
You cannot trust a speedometer that goes from 90 mph to 200 mph in 0.5 seconds.
Very Anti Climatic!😡🤷♂️
1 star wanted level evaded.
Surprised he didn't hit any crowds....
Helicopters should install machine guns or missiles to stop speeding cars, instead of cameras that don’t lock on targets!
Best coverage ever. Worst ending ever as well.
