Either way you go, these kind of small mic kits are so handy.
I have the DJI set Ive been using for weddings this year and it's saved my ass a few times. The versatility of them is wild and I think if you're doing anything like that, having a kit like this is totally worth it.

Please mention the important difference of recording 16bit (Fulaim) vs 24bit (DJI). If you need to apply a lot of compression and processing, the 16-bit can get unusable faster.
For someone who shoots events this may be important as with 16-bit recording you will waste time with setting the correct level for each subject and environment to avoid heavy processing. Even if you set the right levels, you may also be taken by surprise by loud noises, laughter, loud talking from your subject and clip. With 24-bit you can set the mic at the same low level for everyone and raise it in post quite heavily without sounding bad, but you don't get the same flexibility with 16-bit audio

The signal quality is concerning to me. I prefer a lavalier mic to the large "box" that is the transmitter when recording so I limit the amount of camera gear on camera. If these transmitters are clipped to your belt or in a pocket, the distance/movement test shows me there would be a major increase in sound disruption especially with the lower cost one.

The amount of interference we got with a fulaim was completely unacceptable. The DJI has worked very well so far. That being said, if it were not for the fact of us moving it speeds of about 15 to 20 mph. along with the fact that there is generally speaking a body between the receiver and transmitter. I believe the fulaim would work just fine in most situations. Just not mine. So while I am not, in fact, using it, I have used it, and could recommend it for most situations.

Hey! i need your advice! thank you for the content first , but second , i want to ask you what microphone i should invest into as a new content creator who needs clear and consistent audio outdoors? I am going to be filming on a huwawei P20pro smart phone i got years ago because it actually has pretty camera quality , not sure if you know much about it by chance . I will be outside on a microphone thats hooked into "DJ speaker" to amplify my voice in a large radius as my job is to be heard outside in high traffic areas where a lot of noise can exist . I tried to film with no gear , the audio was out of sync much of the time , it was a mess , i need clear video , yes , but most importantly , clear sound as i walk around and talk , interact with people and so forth without the sound dropping , cutting out , getting muddy or any other issue i should be concerned about.
i dont care about it being in the shot , being on my shirt or any of these minor gripes i see people mention a lot , those don't concern me at all , i just want good sound from a quality system that is built to last my investment and serve me well in many ways for what i paid , since , these devices i notice are usually in canadian dollars , 400-500+ dollars , which is a lot considering my entire mic and speaker setup for outside is only 1K total .
i will make an investment into a pricier option if i need to , i just dont want to either , spend too little and get junk , or , because im ignorant , over spend because i didn't understand anything about the audio world , which , i don't know much about film / audio + editing at all really , i need to learn though and im willing to start if you have advice for all this , add it in , i have a custom PC i used to use for streaming with a blue yeti pro and c920 , i can use this to edit .
thank you for your time , i was going to just go with whats brand new like the rode pro thinking , they probably worked out many complaints people have , but , maybe its an over spend , maybe the lav mics they added in aren't really that good or useful outside , maybe the options dont apply to me , who knows , it seems like it has a lot of good function for what i need , but , im a newbie , so , i can't say , i just dont want to invest 200 into something that i find out is junky when i could put that into something really good that will at least get me a couple years of nice quality content .
thanks again! thank you for this video too , keep it up .

There are a thousand potential issues you might run into long after the purchase, and they can definitely ruin your footage. Interferences, electronic components breaking over time... Comparing 16bit to 24bit is a big difference, the amount of dynamic range is pretty substantial (144db vs 96db) 32bit is 1528db 😮

Had to scroll too much for this. Processing and lifting the speaker will make the noise noticeable more easily in the 16-bit audio, especially if recording in less than ideal conditions, which is most of the time for someone who shoots for clients. However, for personal use 16-bit will do fine

Fulaim X5: The noise reduction is awful BUT if you need to hear what's going on no matter what like say in an ad-hock interview like a documentary it gets the job done. But if the audio quality is important just leave noise reduction off and or move to a better location. I'm listening to the audio tests in this video with headphones on and the two systems sound comparable. There certainly isn't £200 worth of difference. If you need pro quality don't get either of these.

Which mic kit do you think is better? DJI Mic or the Fulaim X5? 👀

I've always been TERRIBLE AT CHOOSING, so... I didn't got like a dozen different ones. Fulaim, DJI, Godom Wireless Go II, Comica Boom XD, XD Pro, Wireless Pro, Synco (x2 different ones), etc.

DJI is much better. It's expensive but it's worth it.

DJI seems much better for the money spent. If you’re serious about doing anything, just save up and get the better equipment

@@labbearome5442 Rode Wireless Pro dropped, picked up two sets of those, and while I prefer the small footprint of DJI, the float-bit recording and 32GB of internal storage. Which is 4x as much as the DJI offering.

So much unpleasant crunch on that fulaim kit, at several points in the video it's a really nasty clipping, and that noise reduction is unusuably bad. Seems to be some drop-shipping crap.

Both sound too muddy and piercing, with a mid-frequency recession, I am afraid.

You realize that X5 gain is going rogue, up and down like crazy? I can hear it without having the studio started, is like you speak from a barrel.

For a review of a microphone, the sound levels of the video are not good. I shouldn't have to wear headphones. See ya.
