SUNRISE at the TAJ MAHAL

- Today we visited our second wonder of the world! We were so fortunate to visit the beautiful Taj Mahal 3 days before it was shut down due to the coronavirus. After our 3 hour visit was up, we went back to our hostel before heading out for a bite to eat and picking up some snacks for our train ride in our next video. Our day ended with a surprise Indian wedding ceremony on the streets of Agra.

Taj Mahal's construction is actually an amalgam of ideas of some monuments, while it's design was taken from Humayun's(great grandpa of Shah Jahan) tomb of Delhi(near Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station) whereas the plan of using the marble for its construction and Pietra Dura inlay work came from Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah(Grandpa of Shah Jahan's Wife) in Etmadpur, Agra which is also known as the Baby Taj(though it was constructed earlier). It's just a few kilometres from the Taj Mahal, across the other side of River Yamuna.

How much was the ticket? And do you advise to buy the ticket online or there at the office?
I don't remember the price and our records have been lost... It was great buying them there, so I'd recommend that. As long as you get there early!
