That's where i got my first Ugly Stik. It was sticking out of a trash barrel with line tangled around it. Still have it 20+ years later. Also used to do 24 hours or more on that pier on the weekends.

Have Never Fished the Buckroe Pier. have fished the Grandview Pier which is just a little further up the Bay. Not too far. There is a pier on the First Island ( and restaurant ) on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, which is right at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay at the Ocean.
At least you got a few out there
I have a challenge for you! All freshwater catfish species. Must include the armored cat. The Loricariidae. I have caught two in the last year. Good luck 👍

Amazing how bad the sun can kill your energy for days. I can feel it for days if i fish in the sun for 6-10 hours
I fully cover up even when it's hot, pants, long sleeves, socks, gloves ect... it makes a difference for me

Leo, having watched this now I HIGHLY encourage you to ride out onto the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel and fish the pier there. DEEP water, you're basically in the middle of the bay and you'll have some nice scenery of boats and shipping.
People do that there, they are just curious of what your doing and fishing with no cap
Can you PLEASE come to the York River At Gloucester Point, Virginia? I would really appreciate if you did that. Also, if you do come, don’t cast straight out at the end, as you will definitely get snagged on a large pipe.
It's also funny that you want to catch the croaker and spot whereas most people on that pier would rather catch flounder and black sea bass (albeit larger) Croaker and spot are down there all summer long, they're the blue gill of the atlantic :)

What's hilarious though is that a lot of those people that gave you weird looks without a doubt watch videos on youtube of people fishing haha. People are just completely oblivious to stuff like that though unfortunately lol.

Just a heads up, you may want to blur or cover peoples faces in your videos in case they get greedy. Legally, since you are doing this for profit, they should sign a release if you show their face I believe. Most people would be cool with it but some people are greedy. Love the videos! My 19 month old is always asking to watch fishing videos now! Keep up the good work!

When I went on vacation, I fished on several different piers in the direct sunlight. I had no sunscreen. In one weeks time I never caught a single fish. The only thing I caught was a red lobster tan. It was miserable.

Buckroe pier is great, just gotta fish it and learn, i catch big rays, sharks, and cobia off the end during the summer all the time, also sabiki rigs work great for bait and trout there

If the next video is the last for the trip you should put a tally of how many total fish your mama caught on the trip so we know how she did. You dont need to be specific on species just a total amount. 😉

Leo, Buckroe beach is a little bit of a rough area. There's some gang activity in that area as well as some territorial fisherman that aren't so nice to visitors of the pier. Wish you'd run over the Sea Gull pier on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel instead. Much deeper water right at the tunnels. Plus you get to see the tankers and Navy ships going through the tunnel....sometimes submarines!

Same fish. In PA and NJ they are called Kingfish, VA, usually called Whiting and in NC Sea Mullet or plain Mullet. Go figure.

I've been there at buckroe many time. You have to go to the end and there are many huge schools of croakers and trout. So you should of squzzed yourself in and get some action going

I hate it when I'm the only guy fishing in a unique spot and people look at the sport like it's trashy. They are always so judgmental. I was micro-fishing a local stream looking for the fabled one yen sized micros and a lady came up and was like: "That's so nasty. I can't believe you're going to eat that." I was trying to document species just for my personal enjoyment. I was dressed well in Columbia PFG gear and have nice equipment. It was one of those moments where you hate the ignorance of your fellow Americans. Not long ago, this sport was a source of national pride for us. I didn't have much to say to the woman. In my mind, this sport is second to none. Maybe we need a new fishing organization for a new era of sportsman. I don't feel represented.
You just need like 3-4 people with camera following you , and EVERYBODY will think you’re a SUPER STAR , and will try to get on video .
