    Leo dont forget to tell the people watching to make sure its legal to use the sabiki rig in your area, lots of places limit amounts of hooks you can use, you can always cut the rig down to be sure your not breaking the law, great video

    Leo, thank you so much for "taking me home" during this series in Newport News. I used to fish at all those places as a kid. I've since moved so I haven't seen those places in going on 15+ years now. Took me back to my childhood. And kudos to you, you actually did really good from the piers! Most people don't catch nearly that many fish from the piers.

    Hey epf! I just wanted to suggest if your ever bass fishing a quarry or moderately clear water, try wacky rigging a PINK zoom trick worm
    Or any trickworm at that. I know it sounds crazy but it really works in clear water. I got this inspiration from your pink challenge but it’s very effective👍much love❗️

    Fished this pier many times. Caught a lot of Spot, some Flounder ( using live minnows ). Don't remember ever getting into a run of croaker though. Would have liked to. As for that "Puffer" fish, we call them Blow Toads here. Have a strip of white meat along the backbone they refer to as "Chicken of the Sea". Usually the ones looking for the Big stuff, such as Cobia and maybe Mackerel & Bluefish, will fish the end of the pier. I am usually a little further out than where you are fishing at. Usually between there and the second covered place. As for the Flounder, it may be 16" but I am thinking 18". I lost a huge one on that pier. I had it up on the surface, but lost it before someone could get the landing net. Never know where that thing is. Sometimes up by the bait and tackle shop where you come in or out on the end of the pier where it gets a lot of use.

      Very interesting, Nathaniel. And that is how fishing usually goes -- some species may be common for some folks, and rare for others. And vice versa. And that is what makes Multi-Species so cool too!

      Extreme Philly Fishing Diascund Reservoir is around the New Kent and James City County county lines. It was made to give the city of newport news drinking water and is loaded with fish. It was banned from public fishing for 15 years so it lost the eye of many anglers, but it is open to fishing now and has a public boat landing.

      A little Scaled Sardine/False Pilchard scale on the tip of a Gammy makes no difference whatsoever. Why? Because it is too soft and thin. Would be a big difference if it was a rough scale, such as the scale of a Bluegill, etc.

    7:00 wants to catch gigantic fish on light line... *palm to forehead* ....REALLY?? Was you trying to disappoint us by intentionally setting yourself up to be broken off? I like most of your videos but come on mannnnn...

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  6 лет назад

      Light line? I believe 30lbs test with 30lbs leader is a pretty good range for pier fishing. One guy, downwards from me, landed a small Cobia on squid on 20lbs test line. Bottomline is -- every if that run was from a big ray or Cobia, my gear would have handled it. And plenty of folks have drop nets on the pier. My only concern would be sharks, since I wasn't using any type of metal leader.
      And if you watched the video, you saw that I wasn't broken off. The hook came back perfectly fine. Sometimes it happens -- due to the angle, the fish probably didn't take the hook. It took the bait.
