What the Lord has in store for us 🥰
@@lasarousiI saw that👌
leon went from being in a crowded tank, ready to be eaten, to owning a mini kingdom that he changes to suit himself, being properly fed, and being loved by millions.
it’s crazy.
its amazing how human life also can change rapidly just like this example
See how we can be so cruel....to all animals. Again Brady, thank you for showing the world how we can be gentle, open, and most of all patience, take care
I wouldn't call it crazy at all. It's beautiful. When God's creatures are treated with kindness, they repay it in so many ways. We can learn so much from their behaviors.
I listened to a sermon one time talking about a kid walking down a beach throwing stars back into the ocean. Someone told him "What you're doing doesn't matter."
The kid replied, "It matters to this one." And then he threw it back into the ocean.
I somehow feel silly, but I'm relating that story anyway. After all, we are all God's creatures.
@@Pashasmom1 if any kind of god exists it's the incarnation of cruelty itself.
I love how an entire ecosystem has developed in Leon’s tank, a kingdom over which Leon rules. Amazing beautiful stuff.
It's good to be the king.
He's redecorated it himself as well !
He is a Lord after all! 😂
His color looks so good and natural compared to when you brought him home.
I had the exact same thought. I think it shows Leon loves his peaceful existence/life.
like his cheeks are nice and rosey again.
I completely agree!! Let's hope these videos will convince people not to boil them alive or ever eat them. 🙏🦞
I had no idea lobsters were so vibrantly colored until seeing Leon after the molt.
The colour of shellfish is based on the quality of the water not how well they are treated
Never did i think I would so closely follow the progress of a rescued lobster
The reason for Leon's accuracy may also be that his antennae give him an additional smell-based stereoscopic imaging. He knows what your hand smells like, and can differentiate it from the shrimp. Amazing that he understands you are benevolent and to be treated with respect.
I wonder if he enjoys the worms so much because they remind him of first being rescued.
I've also been wondering how, and what his antenna sense, can they taste food, or other organic matter??
You nailed it Bro!
Can lobsters feel nostalgia? Wow....
One of the simple joys in life is watching a man and his lobster bond
Truly is so rewarding
I think he can tell the difference of your hand and the shrimp. Can’t believe how interested in a lobster’s life I’ve become :-)

Leon has been a boon in my life. At first when you got him I was just about homeless. I lived illegally in a trailer just waiting for the cops to come. Slowly as you built up Leon's aquarium, I was working on my life. Building it up. I found someone to help me in my aquarium of life. I was probably giving up on life probably just as much as Leon in the supermarket did.
I'm doing a whole lot better now! I've learned to be fed by hand and to be king of my aquarium! Thank you Leon and thank you for giving him a chance. Sometimes that's all that is required.
That’s awesome!
That’s so amazing! I hope you have a good molt and shed the scars like Leon
Thank you for sharing your story 😊 I love that you’ve been able to see your progress through someone else’s story. In this case, Leon. But it’s like a gentle reminder every now and and again that a change of environment can always better your life 🎉 Keep going !! I’ve been homeless, myself and it’s a tough battle but once you have your safe space again, nothing feels better. I’m sure you’re working really hard at building a better life for yourself. So if no one has told you, I’m proud of you for not giving up 😊😊😊
Congrats! That's really impressive 😊
@@kaylaackerman6479 thank you so much
I haven't checked in Leon for a few months as life got hectic. Then suddenly this morning after working an overnight shift, I thought about Leon and there it is, a new video! You can't imagine what a calming effect these Leon videos have on our busy minds. They make us appreciate small things in life, and every life in this world - be it a lobster from grocery store, egg-laying glass shrimp, and crab tinier than a tip of key.
Thanks for checking in. ✌️✌️✌️🦞
He is recognizing your hand is not the enemy. He sees you every day and now knows that that is the “hand that feeds him”. Nice to see 2 different species getting along. ❤
I'm not entirely certain if Leon can make the relation between Brady, the hand, and "the hand that feeds him", but it'd certainly be interesting to explore and experiment just how much recognition Leon can achieve
@@Danielaco23 yeah the 4th feeding looked like leon just lunged out. I'm pretty sure one day an accident may occur
I do believe he knows the difference between your hand and the food. He is a sweetheart and so are you.❤
@@Danielaco23 I think at basic emotionnal level Leon make a difference beetween a threat and a boon.
No he doesn’t. It’s an insect.
Following the life of a store bought lobster, now living like a king. What a time to be alive.
The dream can happen to anyone, huh!
Brady: “Hey Leon, where is the sea anemone?”
Leon: “He go away.”
😂😂
You can tell he’s doing way better, based on his color alone. He’s a smart little lobster who seems genuinely grateful that you rescued him, as crazy as that sounds.
No you can’t. It’s basically an insect that molts periodically.
@@Acemechanicalservices lol u can, check his color on the first vid and now, the color difference is huge, plus he isnt particularly agressive towards brady even tho he "invades" his territory.
@@gehrmansparr0w
No shit. Lobsters grow and shed. Their color changes dramatically . And they don’t express gratitude or any other emotions because they don’t have them. I’ve spent tens of thousands of hours fishing for lobsters, and I’ve caught and handled hundreds of thousands of pounds of them, but please, educate me about lobsters. It’s an insect that lives in the ocean. Starting your reply with “lol” makes you appear almost as dumb as your anime picture does.
scientists have confirmed that they do experience emotions, such as pain and anxiety. also my profile isnt an anime picture, its a fanart. and theres nothing wrong with thinking that leon has feelings of gratitude.
@@gehrmansparr0w
Yeah, there’s something wrong with it. Thinking an insect has any emotions, let alone gratitude, is absolutely idiotic.
I think it's very hard to discern the thoughts of a crustacean because they're so distant from our hot blood mammalian ways, but he's clearly thriving under your care and is being precise in his own ways as you are in yours. Thankyou for you content, from a tired and weary insomniac :)
I'm a simple woman. I see Leon the Lobster, I hear that iconic Leon music...and I am complete. 🤣💖
what is the Leon music song called?
@@sophiepi9701 It seems to be a mixture of two song samples: Beach Day by Emerald, and Paint the Canvas by Star Man. At least according to Shazam.

It's just so relaxing to catch up with Leon. Your voice is easy to listen to, you are a natural narrator. Thanks for the update. Please take care.

I Love Brady's voice! Calming and yes, very easy to listen to.
That little touch of southern twang just puts a big old smile on my face and makes me sigh in contentment.
🥰😊😍
My partner always says he should do a meditation video he has great natural calming voice. I still can't get him to watch Leon's journey though.
Watching Leon and listening to Brady reminds me of watching Wild America as a kid.
Also, the cinematography deserves mention! Can't be easy both observing such small changes, as well as capturing them on video.
Definitely went better hand feeding than the first dozen times hands feeding my praying mantis. I had one that even after over a dozen times of hand feeding would still miss and grab my hand out of excitement for the food. She would always let go of my hand in favor of switching to the food, and she never hurt me. I would say Leon definitely knows you by now. The way he watches and follows you shows he knows you. One of my female praying mantis would hide when she saw anyone who wasn't me, but when she saw me she would come to the door to get enclosure and wait for me to let her out. It will be interesting to see if Leon ever gets to the place of watching the door way and waiting for you to come in.
Mate, I’ve gotta say the production skills that go into these vids is amazing. Camera work is just brilliant. Sending much love to Leon and co.
Leon is simply an amazing animal. He has such a personality now. Nice to see a little community building up in his aquarium.
Before Leon, I never realized just how many different colors a lobster can be. I also never realized how expressive a crustacean can be, but Leon definitely has his own personality.
Have you ever seen the Ornate Spiny Lobster? Sometimes called Painted or Rainbow Lobster? The colors on this species are brilliant.
Would you happen to know the reason Leon always grabs his shrimp hand-fed meals with his left claw and never with his right?
Yeah his claws are like specific tools. His other claw the crusher claw is mostly for power stuff like crushing open shells. ✌️✌️✌️🦞
Hes a commie.
I can’t wait to see how the claws compare when he molts again!
Leon is the highlight of everyone’s week

It's just amazing that this is the same lobster you rescued from the supermarket. He has come so far.
I love how you can have a whole ecosystem in an aquarium
I remember the first Leon video when you brought him home from the store. It's so cool to see that he is doing well and looks so much better now. Thank you again for saving that guy!
You have taken such great care of Leon, to remember what he was in the beginning....almost going to be someone's dinner! Now look! Vibrant and strong. You're amazing
I completely agree he is aware your hand isn't food. Lobsters are incredibly intelligent, and also can see very well with those eyes. I adore every update from Leon! He always makes me smile seeing him happy and thriving XOXO!
its so amazing to watch this ecosystem develop all because you decided to save a lobster from the store. so cool. and thank you for sharing it with us
I appreciate all the hard work to maintain that salt water tank. As a 50-year diver, there's something oddly symmetrical about the fact that everything in the ocean eats everything else.
At around 9:23 Leon rubs his antenna after eating. It's so cute and seems very human. When I eat messy food I always wipe my mouth and face too.🤣
I'm still so glad you rescued Leon! It's beautiful.
I see a Leon video, I click so fast!! It's really been such a pleasure getting to know and watch Leon over the past year. It's amazing the impact animals have on us. I rescued and rehabbed an opossum a few years ago. After that experience, I got involved with an opossum rescue based out of South Carolina and have rehabbed and released over 200. Now I am in vet school. A complete career change and something I never thought I would be doing at age 40. All from this 1 injured opossum that wandered into my house through my cat door.
Your story is wonderful- your true, caring nature was brought out by an opposum which changed the course of your life- that's amazing. Best of luck with your future 🙏
Awesome story. I always wanted to go to vet school but never took the plunge. Good for you and best of luck to you!
You're never too old. I started a year around greenhouse produce biz in the high desert in my middle 50's. One of the better choices I've made. Leon is a real entertainer!
Thank you for your rescue work and for sharing the inspiration with us; some here may also decide to join a rescue organization and get trained. ♥
I love that you are also a cat person and have rescued these sweet babes, they are gorgeous!
I just got the feeling that Leon knew the little crab was there left it out sharing his food with his little cousin. The way he looks at you shows he is studying your behaviour thinking about things deciding what he’s going to do about problems or situations. Fascinating stuff I always thought every being has the capacity to problem solve at least with crustaceans I’ve seen it for myself it’s awesome
I can’t believe that a lobster can bring such peace and joy! God bless you and Leon!
So happy to see the glass shrimp and cab are still around. Leon looks great! Thanks for the update.
I didn't see the cab, but the crab is cute. 😘

Leon definitely knows your hand and is being safe. Absolutely incredible!(
It truly is. I think Leon has to think about his primal urge, the quick attack, to the gentle aim so as not to pinch your fingers which I believe show's his trust in you Bradly.
Thank you so much for thinking others would enjoy watching your experiment with Leon, as it is enjoyable and some how, brings peace into many human lives.
This has gone from Leon's story to the story of him and his community, you being part of that,

Filmed beautifully Brady! Leon's colors are so vivid now, and seeing the tiny crabs, anemone, glass shrimp and other creatures and details are amazing. You're brave to try that handfeeding experiment! It's very interesting to see how he used his sensitive antennae to discern the difference between the food and your hand. Glad the little fish at the Woods House is thriving and cats are adjusting.
What a lucky lobster Leon is! He seems to appreciate your kindness.
He was very gentle in taking the food from you.
You've done an awesome job with him!
I hope Leon gets to 100. I know that lobster are technically immortal.
I swear, Brady, may I call you Brady? Anyway, you’ve done more for education than Nat Geo! Your photography is superb and you’ve educated us in an entertaining and delightful way! So enjoyable to see and hear about Leon! You’re the best Dad ever!
Leon was really ready to throw hands with the glass cleaner 🤣🤣
This is like a tiny corner of the internet where it wholesomeness defies the toxic meta - it is my favourite place to visit and join Leon to ponder on the mystery of life 🙂
Never in your life, did you expect one day you would have 3/4th of a MILLION people watch you hand-feed your rescued store food bought lobster you now keep as a pet and homie. Its the combo of the sound of your voice, the narration and scripting, your editing choices, and of course Leon himself and the idea behind what your doing has all come together and shot you both into the history books. You, Me, Leon... we will all be gone from this earth one day, but the two of you will live on in infamy here on your channel. Congratulations, and thanks for taking all the time to create these videos and share them with the world.
I can't believe you still have this lobster. Awesome
When I watched the first video about Leon, I was just curious about the rehabilitation of a grocery store lobster. I had no idea how much I'd appreciate this southern American man sharing little wisdoms about life and opening his home to every mistreated or abandoned animal he comes across.
Such a majestic animal Leon is - and so gentle! The music is so calming, too. Can’t believe and even think that he could have ended up being thrown alive in boiling water, suffer agony for even 15min. So glad you saved him!
He would have been dead within 30 seconds. Glad he got to live with Brady instead though. Very spoilt and very interesting.
@@Mister_HoldsworthA lobster his size would take longer to die.
Also, it’s been proven that lobsters experience pain and do in fact suffers immensely.
Even if it were only 30 seconds, that would be 30 seconds I personally wouldn’t want to ever experience.
I can’t understand how some people can actually believe that they don’t feel pain.
When my grandmother was 13 she was sent to live and work in a wealthy household as a maid.
One time she was told to cook a lobster. She didn’t know how, so she put it in a pot with cold water on the stove.
As the water started to heat, the lobster obviously began to move around, and it grew more and more frantic trying to escape so she had to hold the lid down, while crying and feeling sick.
It took a long time for it to die, and my grandmother who loved all animals, was so traumatized by it, that she never again even considered cooking a lobster for the rest of her live. Couldn’t eat them either.
@@mememe733 If you have ever fallen over and cut yourself you would know the pain one hour after is much worse than the pain you felt at the time. Our adrenaline kicks in and the pain is minimized. Many people who are shot or even burned will tell you the same thing.
Going from cold water to hot water would be worse no doubt but as an old man now I consider would I prefer one minute of absolute pain or 3 years of cancerous pain to see me off and that one minute of absolute pain while sounding horrific, seems much more attractive to me.
One minute of pain in an 80 years lifespan... life wasn't really that hard.
My Grandfather first cooked a lobster when he was about 17 or 18 years old. He too thought that it was necessary to kill it before boiling, so he stabbed the creature through with a screwdriver. (Presumably he did not have a knife close at hand; he was on a jobsite.) Family lore does not recount if this strategy was effective.
For the record, I am very allergic to lobster (and other shellfish), and so I am indifferent as to how they meet their end.
@@Mister_Holdsworth I had a hard labor with my daughter, without any help, and I guarantee that I could feel that pain immediately 😅
Just knowing how old lobsters can get I feel like no matter how tiny or simple their brains are they will eventually learn what the friendly mystical food bearing thing and the monster attached to it is.
Searched “pet lobster” and watched a video you shared, lol binged watched all the Leon videos (not in order) and they all captivated me. I miss the aquariums I had when I was a younger man. I am in England. Watching Leon reminds me of a cartoon in one of our national newspapers years ago. The Eyeballs in the Sky by Maurice Dodd. It was about a small rockpool on the beach where some crabs lived. One day one of the crabs saw two eye balls looking into the pool. He was so excited he said to his friend "see I told you there was life beyond the pooliverse, and they come every year at the same time". It was really funny.
