      @@WindingRoadCrochet hey i actually do have a question now! so i made this bag around 9 months ago and i’ve been avoiding using it for anything heavy since i’m scared it’ll stretch too much or break. is there a way to make it sturdier? or is the bag fine the way it is and won’t break? thanks! great tutorial again, im making another bag because it’s cute!

    Hey! Thanks for sharing this lovely pattern. I also used 2 colors (Baby blue and linen color). It turned out perfectly, but i manage to increase the pattern, make it bigger. My hands are sore now, but can't stop thinking about crochet another bag!

    • @WindingRoadCrochet

      Sounds great! Cotton can be hard on the hands because it doesn't have very much stretch. That makes it good for a bag too. Just make sure to take breaks and let your hands rest now and again.

    Hi can you tell me how I’d go about adding 2 handles? I’ve done this with the 1 handle and it’s awesome. Now I’d like to do another one but with 2 handles

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  2 месяца назад

      I would just make a chain that is as long as you would like the handle to be and then work rows of single crochet along that chain until the handles is as thick as you would like it. Then I would make a second handle just the same as the first and sew them in place.

    I just finished row 38 for the bottom of the bag, using single crochet as instructed, but it is 18 inches long! From the dimensions of the bag given in a previous answer, that can’t be right. About how long should it be at this point? And thank you for this pattern.

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  Год назад

      When you measure the bag are you just measuring the sides of the bag? You want to remember that is has a flat bottom and that won't be considered in the final height.

    Question. I am on row 50. How much shape should this bag have at this point? The sides in the center seem very floppy but the corners curve up as they should. I’m wondering if somewhere I have extra stitches. Thank you.

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  Год назад

      I would count your stitches to check but rows 40-50 should all be pointing upwards. Sometimes the first 2 rows may lay flat but the rest of the rows should be side rows.

    If my yarn is for a 2/1.75mm needle no make a bag the same size how much do I need to size up the pattern?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  Год назад

      No idea. What I would do is work a rectangle in a size that you are happy with. Then single crochet around that rectangle and make sure you have an even number of stitches. You will probably be tripling the number of rows you need for each section. Try that but feel free to add extra rows as needed. A size 2 yarn is 1/4th the thickness of a size 4 yarn.

  • @bellaterra8931
    @bellaterra8931 Год назад

    I have a question regarding row 40. In the video, it begins with a Ch 1, but the written instructions states to Ch 2. Could you please clarify how many stitches I should be stitching for these? The same confusion arises for rows 41-49. I have had to undo my project multiple times in an attempt to get the stitching right, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  Год назад

      So in the video I often Chain 1 and then pull up on the loop to create a clean seam but that is really hard to explain in a written pattern, so for the written pattern I just say to chain 2, otherwise someone will have the beginning of there row scrunched down because they chained 1 and didn't pull to create a larger loop for height.

    What hook are you using? I am trying to find it. Is it a furls?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  8 месяцев назад

      I like to use furls streamline (if it is a wood hook) and furls odyssey (if it is a metal hook).

  • @Sandilew76
    @Sandilew76 2 года назад

    Is it OK to use acrylic yarn for these. I do all charity projects, and recently was gifted a nice stash of acrylic yarns in #4 worsted weight. This looks like a good project for some of this yarn. Or does the acrylic stretch too much?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  2 года назад +3

      The pattern will still work with acrylic yarn. Just keep in mind that the bag will have more stretch. Some people do not like the stretch others are fine with it.

    • @Sandilew76
      @Sandilew76 2 года назад

      Thank you. As my stitches are almost always loose, to partially control that stretch, maybe for me it would be best I go down a size with my hook to compensate. I appreciate your quick response. I really like your design very much.

    Can I use any wool for this project, maybe chunky?

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  3 года назад

      You can, but two things to consider is wool will have more stretch and if you use a chunky yarn, check your gauge or your bag may turn our larger.

      Yes I allow people to sell the finished products made from my patterns. I ask that if it is sold online to just throw a line in that the pattern is from me and that you use your own photos for your listings. If you are selling locally then you don't have to worry about credit.

    Good tutorial but I’m doing the 12 stitches for the bottom and it’s coming out like half the length it shows in the video🤔

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  Год назад

      So you worked 12 stitches in each row and worked 38 rows? The base of the bag should be about 3 inches by 9.5 inches after row 38. it will stretch to be a little bigger later. you can add more rows, just make sure to have an even number of rows worked.

    hi! mind sharing the dimension of the bag? :)

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  3 года назад +2

      Yes of course! Bag Bottom is 5 inches by 11 inches (this includes the base section plus some of the textured rows. The height of the bag is 14.5 inches tall from the base to the top of the bag. The handle is 21 inches long before sewn in place.

      @@WindingRoadCrochet ~ Hello, newbie here 🙋🏻‍♀️ If I wanted to lengthen the bottom panel of the bag, and I keep it in even number of rows the rest of the pattern will be ok with the same amount of extra stitches needed on the rest of the bag as I crochet? I hope I asked that “clearly”. (I believe you answered this with your explanation of having an even number, the sides will work) This is my first attempt at a bag pattern. This is a very nice market bag design 😍 and you make excellent tutorials.
      Thank You 🌷🐝
