The Jayda InStitches Show 2019
Brought to you by The InStitches Team! :)
Great tutorial. But, all size 4 cotton yarns are not equal. I used a ball of peaches and cream (70.9g and 120 yrds), followed the pattern exactly and it took the entire skein with maybe a couple yards to spare. At row 23 I was at the side of the bag instead of the middle. If you use this yarn you might want to make it a little bigger as it's smaller than another one I made with a different #4 (peaches and cream in the cone size). Other than that, no complaints about your tutorials, always a joy!
Yes! Also, she actually adds 23 rows after the bottom, instead of a total of 23 rows. Took me 3 bags to figure this out! But, the pattern is very easy! Fun to make!
I love this Jayda!
Our special needs son is in a wheelchair and i need a bag or 2 at all times hanging on the back of his wheelchair. These bags will work amazingly!
Thank you so much 🌹🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷🌞🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
Hi Katie, we're so happy to hear that - we love to know we're helping create useful things :)
Hi Jayda, I've been making these bags and I just sold one on marketplace. I love doing these, they are so simple, I also love the happy scrappy bag, and have made a few of those all so. I usually give them to my granddaughters teachers as an end of the year thank you. They love them. Lord knows I have more scrap yarn that I know what to do with, but I do know now what to do with them. Thanks so much for your great tutorials. Love watching you. You're such a happy person. I love the showw where you were trying to teach your husband how to crochet. He did a very good job. Thanks again, and keep those tutorials coming.
Hi Mary! Thank you so much for watching 😊
I just love your tutorials. As a newbie to crocheting (I started five months ago) I have made a couple of big baskets using your tutorials and I’ve given them to friends who absolutely loved them. So I now know what to make family and friends for gifts. I love this mesh bag and I’m on my way out to the craft stores to buy cotton yarn here in Cincinnati so that I can make many of these bags. I’m so addicted to crocheting. My family say it’s an obsession. Maybe so. Lol
Hi Deborah! It's definitely an obsession for me LOL But it's a good one (and useful too!) Thank you for watching :)
Omg theses would make great harvest bags as well, I have a small garden and these would be great for tomatoes, peppers and whatever! Oh Jayda I just love this bag! I have several friends that are gardeners as well. What a great gift this will make for them and maybe buy some matching garden gloves too! 🥰
You explain everything so easy that I understand you so nice. Trying to make a bag like this one and have tried so many times and don’t understand until I saw yours thank you.
Hi Norma, we're glad it was helpful!
i know i’m very late to this video but i just wanted to say how great you are at explaining and showing us how to make everything this is the best crochet tutorial i have watched by far it’s so easy to understand
Thank you so much Rebecca!
I have just completed my shopping bag, using spare wool as a practice, I am not a very good crocheter and am pleased to say it turned out really good. I am now going to buy the correct yarn and do a proper version. Video very easy to follow.
Hi Margaret, Thank you for watching!
I want to make a bunch of these. Perfect for shopping bags for those of us with arthritis. Not so big that you overfill and make the bags too heavy to carry comfortably.
Love your videos!
Hi Robin, that's a great point! Thank you for watching :)
Robin2152 I love your point about arthritis.
Do u find that crocheting helps or hurts ur arthritis?
@@CourtneysCockpit helps mine. keeps my fingers moving
I had 1 skein of a variegated brown acrylic, and went ahead and used it to learn this. Everybody loved it! I'll definitely be making more of these. Thanks for the clear instruction! You're a delight to follow along with. :-)
Hi! Thank you for watching 😊
Love this bag! I made a couple of these to actually store my potatoes, garlic and onions in. Thank you for sharing! 🥰
Wonderful! Thank you for watching :)
They make for a nice gift when filled with fruit! I made them for my sister-in-laws!
Love it! Made one for my mum as a xmas gift then made a double size one for me to store some of my balls of wool!
Fantastic! Thank you for watching Jo :)

Love this bag! A friend gave me 2 big skeins of Bernat Handicrafter cotton, but I didn’t want to make a million dishcloths, lol, and then you gave us this excellent video! I love how you even anticipate questions and areas that could confuse us and you teach at the right speed. Thank you!🍎
Hi Mossy! Perfect! LOL :)
Thanks for this video. I love how you explain the little details such as the false stitch and how to count rows. Many other videos assume we all know about these things. Now I do, I guess! Stay crafty! Cheers from Eastern Ontario
Hi D! That's great to hear, thank you!
Thank you for the opportunity to join your group. Love your crochet items❤
Hi Maxine! Welcome to the Family!
So many uses for this! Shopping, those with kids can put sand toys in them, those with dogs can fit toys water bowls when they're out and about this summer... thank you Jayda... so excited, just got a seizure response dog, I have kids, it's gonna help oh so very much!!!
Brilliant ideas for the use of these wonderful bags !! i made mine way too long LOL thinking it can be used for holding grand-kids bathtub toys in i can use a suction cup to hang it on the tiles above the tub !!
@@debidiaz6569
Or... you could use it to fill it up with yarn when on a shopping spree. I know I will. :)
I love all your videos and have learned so much from your videos. My mom used to crochet the ripple stitch and made boat loads of blankets for people. Being left handed and her being left handed she tried to teach me, but it was too difficult @ age 12. Now @ 53 I started watching your videos and became self taught for the past year. Your videos are easy to follow and I’m super proud of the items I have made. Absolutely love everything attached to the “Jayda Instiches” company. Not sure how other people feel about the relaxation that seems to come with crocheting, but it’s a total stress reduction for me.
Hi Melody! I definitely find crochet relaxing - and it makes me really happy, especially when I manage to make something that I think is really neat! Thank you for watching :)
I love this bag ! I got a bunch of the Premiere 85% cotton on sale recently and that is what I used so I ended up making this bag for under two dollars. It is so cute in variegated pinks and cream colors. I am making more as gifts since I can make them so cheap. The pattern was so easy to follow and so easy to work. Thank you so much for the simplest and prettiest mesh bag I have ever found. As others have suggested , this would be great in a larger size. I would call this a small so seeing the pattern in medium , large and extra large would be so great!
Hi! Thank you for watching and for the suggestion :)
Thank you for this very nice tutorial. Clear instructions, fun to watch, no fuzz, great result. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching!
Just a question: if I would want to make this bag with 3 mm cotton (macramé) rope, what size crochet needle would you recommend to use?
Thanks for the idea! Since yesterday, I've made two groceries bags and now, I'm making the third! 🤗🙂👌
That's great! Thank you for watching Sara :)
I have made this bag when you 1st made this video and made it again now...
I have learned so many things from all your videos and made so many projects. A big thank you from me you're a real star!
Love from UK 💕
Thank you so much 💗
YES!! I can use these for my potatoes/onions at one too! And it will look gorgeous instead of plastic!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Jayda for your very clear tutorial on shopping bag. I made one and I going to use it instead of using the plastic bags.
Hi! Thank you for watching :)
Thank u ! Have tried to make that with diff pattern and gave up! The other was so complicated that I gave up and haven’t gotten back to it! Thank you thank you thank you again. I want to make these as gifts and to sell at the flea market now I can! I love your channel and see you and you do the work makes it so much easier thank you again!
Hi Dottie! Thank you for watching :)
I love this young lady. She makes my days brighter every time I watch her
Thank you for watching Safia!
Thank you for showing us how to crochet this adorable and beautiful “green” bag. I just love it. Greets from Switzerland
Hi Virginia! Thank you for watching :)
You remind me so much of my Grandma. In the best way. It’s the cadence of your voice. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for teaching me how to make my own produce bags.
Hi Ollie! Thank you for watching :)
You uploaded this while I was crocheting a bag! I sure do like crocheting bags.
LOL what lovely timing!
I was just thinking of another crochet Project that is practical and already I love this! See through, sturdy and reusable! My dreams have come true!
Hi! We're so pleased to hear that :) Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this, Jayda! The gyms in my state are reopening tomorrow, and I was looking at this pattern and got the idea to make a treadmill arm bag. My phone, hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, pen, small notebook, etc. can all just go right into this bag and slide right onto the treadmill arm so none of my things have to go on the floor or in those cup holders. Thank you again! :D
Love this pattern. Made 3 already. I've added some extra rows at the bottom and handles.
Thank you for watching Natalie!
I've never seen a better instructional video!! Amazing! I'm gonna give as presents!! Tnx!
This is a lovely idea and great for when you pick your own fruit and veg at the market.
Hi Trisha, we totally agree!
I love this bag, loved it so much I went to the website and bought the pattern so I can have a hard copy. Your video directions were very well explained and easy to follow this is the first thing I have ever crocheted. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your support of our show Darlene :)
I did same thing
Thanks, Jayda, U make my day, I am trying to make some bags for my kids.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching :)
WOW!! I have made 3 of these over the past 3 days. They work up really fast. I have used 3 different hook sizes ( I, J, and K). I love them all. I have a bunch of variegated cotton yarn that is Spring (Easter) colors. They all worked up with its own unique design depending on the hook size. THANK YOU JAYDA 🌞💜🌼💜🌞
Hi Lisa! Oooh! That sounds like a really pretty set of bags! Thank you for watching :)
you are so sweet.. and the way you speak and teach is so easy to understand.. i really wish to meet you once...
Thank you for watching!
This was an amazing tutorial! So easy to follow and such a great pattern too! I was able to plop myself down on my couch, put on an audiobook, and finished this in a day! Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching :)
Thank you for keeping your language clean my children enjoy watching your videos, and my 7 year old is starting to crochet simple things.
Hi Ang, we're a family friendly channel :) Thank you all for watching!
Hi Jayda, thank you for this bag. I love it! Ilove how it uses one skein! I finished it in 2 days. I want to make some more now. It is so functional and soft yet strong. Very affordable to make. I only paid $1 and change for it. Got it at the Dollar Tree! 104 yds per skein of Premiere cotton. Awesome!
Yarn score! Thank you for watching Sabrina :)
@@JaydaInStitches Yes! I just went to get more cotton yarn but they only had the camo and the orange color left but I still got some. And,......they got a new shipment of the Acrylic skeins in many jewel toned colors! So, Yeah! I bought more acrylic yarn too. 131 yds for $1.00! Yarn score again! Cha Ching! :D Presently I am making your market bag but I am doubling the size! It' not the colors I wanted but hey! It's functional and that's all that matters! It's tan, white and camo striped. I'm loving it though. Scratch another project off my list of things to do during this lockdown from the virus. :D
Thank you again for your beautiful market bag pattern.
I just finished my lovely bag. Thank you so much!
Hi Jayda! I really like this bag! It is so useful and has people not have to waste plastic bags!
KittyClawz_Meow .. AND, pretty soon, we’re going to start having to pay for plastic bags here in Chicago before they do away with them altogether
I'm going to try this pattern using plastic grocery bags. If we can make yarn out of t-shirts, why not make 'yarn' with plastic bags? It's worth a try, anyway.
Just finished my 1st bag! Thank you. Sweet potatoes always rip the thin plastic produce bags, can't wait to go shopping.
And they're so heavy!! LOL Thank you for watching Margie :)
Funny you said that, it was the first thing I tried was to stuff the bag full of sweet potatoes and it stretched and held!! Definitely going to make more. You have a loyal viewer now!
That awesome 👏 for my plant base life!!!!! Love it!
Yay for Plant Based ! i am also whole food Plant based !
Nice one. Thank you.
You are such an amazing instructor. Everything is very clear and easy to follow! Thank you so much for your awesome videos!!!
Hi Lisa! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you, thank you ❤️! It’s a perfect gift idea for anyone including my sister or for myself 🤗.
Absolutely! Just about all of us like to shop for something :)
I enjoyed making this bag along with you!
Hi Cynthia! Thank you for watching 😊

PLUS YOUR Designs & Projects are JUST WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR EVERY TIME ( Not shouting, just happy & excited! TY! TY! 😇Y (& your Nice Hubby, too)
Hi DK! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Great bag for the Farmer Market this summer 🌞 A good way to help the environment for recycling. 👍
Agreed! And we love our farmer's markets!!
I really love this pattern. I definitely will be making a few of these. Here in Nova Scotia if we forget our grocery bag at home which I do a lot LOL we pay $0.05 for each plastic bag from the store. Your pattern is perfect to just throw the bag in my purse and Wala I have my grocery bag LOL. Also for $1 we are given the option I've buying a store brand bag. But I find they are so big and bulky they don't fit in my purse so I end up forgetting them. This will be perfect. Can't wait to start making one. Thank you
and the store brand ones you buy fall apart if you try to wash them !!
Hi Debbie! Us too LOL I'd rather just use my own bags - and if I keep a few in the car, I always have some handy!
thank you these bags are just what I was looking for. I've made loads of totes for grocery shopping but still have use those plastic produce bags. Now I can go GREEN all the way!
Hi Radha, Thank you for watching!
I think this mesh bag can also fit lots and lots of balls of yarn when I go shopping at that store of those sweet old ladies.
I was going to try to sew some of these and dreading it because I'm not that good at sewing...but THIS, this I can do! Thank you so much for this!
Edited to say it turned out great and was so quick to make. Thank you again for quick and easy instructions!
Hi! That's great to hear! Thank you for watching :)
OMGosh! That would make an adorable stuffed Pineapple!
I just made my first bag and I love it! Your directions were so way to follow. Thank you!!!
Hi Julie, we're so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I just finished my little bag today and I love it so much! I'm off to purchase the pattern from your Etsy store as a thank you!
Hi Hana, thank you so much for your support of our show!
Works up fast. This little bag holds so much! Love it.
Hi Shane! Thank you for watching 😊
Hi Jayda! I love this mesh bag and have made a few for my family. Could you make a tutorial for a larger mesh bag? Ive tried following along with other videos and they are not as straight forward as yours. Love your videos!! Thank you!!
Hi! Thank you for watching and for the suggestion :)
I always love your tutorials. So easy to follow, see, and your directions are on point. Thank you. 😊❤
Thank you so much Renita, we really appreciate that!
Love this! Another project for my to-do list! I want to make several for family and friends. Thank you Jayda!
Hi Jackie! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this pattern. I have a few mesh shopping bags but they are larger. I like your handles better . They look more padded than mine and should be kinder to my hands. 👍💖
Hi Dawn, thicker handles are easier on our poor fingers! Thank you for watching :)
I am very happy with my new mesh bag. Thank you for this great tutorial! Maybe a tutorial for a larger one... please, please? :)
Hi Maria, we're glad you enjoyed the project :) Thank you for watching!
This would be good for kids beach toys too. So cute!
Absolutely!
Love, love, love this!!! Thank you!!!! And you are an amazing teacher! Can’t wait to make one of these!!!
Hi Yvette! Thank you for watching :)
Congratulations to Jayda & Mr. Stitches! Lots of new members. I love this market bag You never can have enough market bags
HI Sondra! I agree!
This might sell at our local vegetable stand!!
You are so joyful and uplifting and you make this look doable even for me! Thanks. X
Hi Deanna! Thank you for watching :)
I absolutely love this bag. Just finished it!
I made this today during our spring snow storm...great way to spend the day:) thank you for all you do🌻
Hi Julia, what a nice way to spend the time while it storms outside :) Thank you for watching!
I've made several of these and love them. Please so a tutorial for a larger one! ♡
HI Dee! Thank you for watching and for the suggestion :)
Oh my gosh, these are brilliant! I've been crocheting for about half a year but this is the first spoken pattern I've been able to follow, you're so concise and your pace is fantastic. Thank you so much
HI Lassie, we're so pleased to hear that :) Thank you for watching!
I was looking forward to trying a bag in this style! Excellent - Thanks Jayda! 👍🏼👍🏼🧶🧶😁😁
Hi Chelle :) You can never have too many reusable bags!
Thanks for the pattern. I made one with a much smaller hook, and half the rows for a little girl. I’m making the regular size for her mom.
HI Laurel, Thank you for sharing your experience! I like that: matching mommy/daughter bags :)
I just watched the first minute and I'm loving it already
Hi Kathy! You can never have too many reusable bags LOL!
That is true. You keep putting more cool things out to crochet. Have to finish my three WIP’s first. Another to add to the list.
Jayda I love your tutorials. You are so precise in your patterns, very easy to follow. Thank you! 💗🌞
Thank you so much!
I am excited! This looks very easy! Can’t wait to try. Love it!❤️
Just finished 2 of your bags. One using Bernat Handicrafter and the other in Bernat Maker Fashion. Both equally wonderful. Your patterns are amazing, so detailed. Everything you do is top notch. Thank you. Hugs from a Canadian who lives in Virginia.
HI Wendy! We're so happy to hear that, thank you so much! Our Ontario Spring is starting to shape up ;) I bet Virginia's is a lot nicer LOL :)
Love this. Can't wait to get started. Have a great weekend you two. Take care, jlee xx
Hi Jlee! We hope you're having a creative and productive week!
This is beautiful and amazing!!! I love it!!! Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful tutorial!!!
Thank you so much for watching 😊
These are great! Will be making many!!!
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you Jayda. I love this market bag. It’s small enough to push into a pocket etc but it’s big enough to do the job. 🧶
Hi Janey, agreed! We keep a couple in the car :)
Great idea very cute bag thank you jayda , i love how it stretches ! , I think I will also make one to keep all my other stray plastic bags in too , 😊Amanda xx
Amanda H. Great idea about making one to keep your other plastic bags in. I was just thinking the same thing! I need a place to store all those extra bags until I get a chance to make plarn out of them.
Laura Thunder hi Laura that sounds great iv never tried it myself but it sounds fun and a great use of old plastic bags , what do you make with it after ? 😊
Jayda, you're the best! Thank you so much for teaching me to crochet actual useful things. I love this bag and plan on making more! You are a great teacher.
Hi Janine! You are so welcome 😊 Thank you for watching!
Love it! I am a bag collector lol. I have a bag for every project in progress and I have crocheted my own beach bags and now this, just awesome! 😁 Can't wait. We do not like those plastic bags anyway.
Hi Carrie! These last a lot longer too :) (plus cotton will naturally break down over time!)
I'm going to try this pattern using plastic grocery bags. If we can make yarn out of t-shirts, why not make 'yarn' with plastic bags? It's worth a try, anyway. I'd love to re-use those horrid things.
I absolutely love this Jayda! I started it right away! I think it's going to become a go to for gifts. Thank you so much 😊 Great fun crocheting along with you❤ You make it a feast ❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching 😊
Hello Jayda! 😄 I'm from Crete, Greece. 🏖 I've been watching your videos for a long time and I love them. I dont know how to speak English though (my daughter is writing this comment) and it's hard for me to keep up so I would like to ask if you can write the numbers and the inches. Thank you and keep up the good work! 🌼
Hello from Canada! Thank you for the suggestion :)
I do so appreciate your instructions which leave not a single doubt. Thank you.
HI Bessie! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I did it ! But had some mistakes which I can correct next time while doing the second crocket bag ;) sending love from Minsk 🥰
Thank you for watching and hello from Canada!
Love it! Hoping to make one. Thank you for providing such detailed videos for those of us who is trying to learn how to crochet and improve our skills. Much appreciated.
Thank you for watching Marilyn!
Great cover picture!! Mr InStitches is outdoing himself lately.
He's definitely earning his keep ;)
With the ban of shopping bags becoming law in Western Australia a few years ago, I wanted to make a reusable shopping bag that was durable and washable.
Thank you for this fantastic pattern Jayda. Absolutely brilliant. 😊💕
Hi Missy! Thank you so much for watching :)
Hi Jada and mr. In stitches. I am making this along with you right now. :-)
I have started 2 and not finished because I didn't like it as we went along, but this one looks great!
How's the bag going? Thinking of trying this one!
Lydia Miller I got called away from the house just as I got to Row 4. Haven't gotten back to working on it yet unfortunately. Let me know how yours turned out if you made one. :-)
I never even started, but, i will, probably next week and I'll come back here!
Can I just take a moment to say how awesome your channel is? I've been crocheting for years but I just love your simple and practical makes. I've made these for the whole family, i've just made one for myself, and i've got enough cotton leftover to make more of your soap scrubbie bags.
Some of my family still collect the plastic veggie bags for dog doo, but that's ok, I just make them one of your carrier bag dispensers instead. Oh, and my sofa is covered in your scrapghan blankets. This is the only crochet channel I'll ever need.
Thank you so much Charlotte! We're so happy to hear that 💗
Completed my first one yesterday. I messed up somewhere on the mesh count cus when I got to the 23 row had too many stitches. But no fear, I just decreased a few and got back on track. I can see my mess up but most won't he he he. Had an idea to put velcro on the open part of the bag to seal it shut...what do yall think?
Hi Pamela, velcro is a great idea! Go for it!
I have never seen needles like that! Apparently they are called 'wool needles' need to buy. Love this pattern! Super easy and you are easy to follow.
Jay Mag thnx for info. I will definitely be getting a couple of them. Wonderful help for threading. 👍🏻
Hi Jay! We have a video on those needles here: ruclips.net/video/0EWXaWWffxc/видео.html We talk about all the places you can find them :)
Just wanted to share that I made this with red heart (Acrylic) and have washed and used it multiple times a week and it's held up so well! I was worried it wouldn't work well with Acrylic but it does!
Thank you for sharing your experience Rachel :)
That's exactly what I wanted to know. I have an odd ball of acrylic, thicker than I usually use, I didn't know what to do with it and this project will be perfect to use it up.
Hi Jayda! This little bag is great. Maybe it will be the project to ignite my crojo spark again. Thank you so much. I live your tutorials. You're such a sweetheart! 🍋💜
Hi Pamela, that's great! We're happy we could help spark it up!
I love this. Looking forward to making many. I love your work and I have learned so much from you. Thank you Jada ❤️. I don't have cotton but I have acrylic. Wonder if it makes a difference...
Rachael Nugent hi Rachael iv made other bags in acrylic and they have worked fine but they do stretch abit more than cotton I think 😊
Thank you... I figured as much. Lookin forward to getting started. 🥰
@@amandah4834 cotton is more sturdy also !! while you can make it with polyester it probably won't last as long and may break from the weight. I may even add a piece of plastic canvas to the bottom of mine !!
Debi Diaz thank you Debi that's a great idea to add a base 😊
Such a useful tutorial - thank you. Especially nice to include the little tip on fastening off the top.
Thank you for watching!
