A lot of crimes were inspired by movies but the media doesn't acknowledge that. But when a crime inspired by a video game happens everyone loses their shit.
Fact is that most people who use inspiration to hurt others or themselves would've found it one way or another. Book/Movie/Game/History, it doesn't matter.
Again while it's more common the media will blame video games for violence which is more common I disagree with you that movies are never in that negative area.
In the past people use to blame movies and tv for violence but as time went on the complaints stop. Then when video games were made people started to blame video games. I guess this pretty much happens to anything new.
You really want to see some horribly written fiction google the coroners report on how good a shot a guy with an IQ of 66 can be. No chance in hell Martin Bryant did that shit.
From what i was told, Chuckie was based off of Robert the doll. Grant it, Robert never killed anyone or held the soul of serial killer, but it's still creepy and possessed. It's locked up just like the original Annabelle
These people were all fucked up before they saw these movies, though. Also that nightmare syndrome thing is what INSPIRED Nightmare on Elm street. Wes Craven came up with the entire idea based on that very thing. That's art imitating life, not the other way around. You know what IS super creepy? A book was once written called Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan. It's about a ship called the Titan that hits an iceberg on its maiden voyage and sinks, and lots of people die. Sound familiar? That book was published in 1898. The Titanic didn't sink in exactly that way until 1912. Now that's spooky.
Futility's great until you find out that the author first published the book in 1898 and then again AFTER the titanic sank with details pertaining to that incident. there were basically two versions of the book out and i can't fathom why it took people so long to catch on.
"...Jigsaw and his penchant for elaborate death traps which scream of a man with too much time on his hands..." Way to miss the entire premise of the movie: a man is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and therefore has very *little* time on his hands...
Nightmare death syndrome isn't an example of a movie becoming reality, but the other way around. Nightmare On Elm Street was inspired partly by the phenomenon.
There might be more cases involving young women, but the newspaper articles which Wes Craven was inspired by were all about young Asian men. The phenomenon of Nightmare Death Syndrome, or Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome as its also known, has been renamed Sleep Paralysis. And researchers have found the cause. It's sort of a reverse "Placebo Effect". These people are from a culture that believes very strongly in a "dream demon" which will kill them in their sleep when they dream of him. In their own culture a ritual can be performed by a shaman to chase the demon away (sort of an exorcism or spiritual cleansing). But after moving to America there was no way to perform the ritual. So their nightmares became worse and worse until they literally scared themselves to death. This is because their belief in this demon is so strong their minds trick their bodies into believing it's real. It's very much like a doctor's placebo medicine curing a skull splitting migraine, or a hypnotist convincing a 150 lbs weakling that he's an Olympic power lifter and he bench presses 500 lbs. Only in this case their mind convinces them to die if the ritual is not performed.
You fell into a youtube hole! Come here to look up a recipe...somehow end up watching drag racing, followed by some form of boobage, then onto how the earth is flat, our politicians are reptiles...and now this. Only youtube lol
"come here to look up a recipe" more like come here to watch people make giant fekin brownies and watch them eat while wondering what your'e doing with your life
Fuljhari Mitchel There was a small purge, in Kingston Upon Hull, in England, but I didn't hear out about it, I just saw people put photos of loads of people on motorbikes with masks on on Facebook, driving through town
Right??? I loved Aaliyah but that movie was TRASH. You can tell it was edited into something other than its original content due to her untimely death. Very disappointing but still not serial murder inspiring. Sheesh smh.
i love how people in scary movies the girl says "HELLO?" And its like the bad guys gonna answer back saying "YEAH IM IN THE KITCHEN U WANT A SANDWITCH?"

The movie Dark Water actually came true too. While there wasn’t necessarily a ghost, a girl was found in the water tower of an apartment building after people were complaining about their tap water having a strange consistency. This all happened after the release of the movie with a very similar plot.
Scary story: One day I came home from my friends sleepover and as soon as I got home I got on my phone. Then I realized......... THERE WAS NOMORE WIFI!! *Ppl sceaming* *Someone killing themselves* *A person calling the police* *A little girl cutting her finger off* *A man killing random ppl*
agreed. Rosemary's Baby had NOTHING to do with the Manson killings; the Beatles' Helter Skelter inspired the killings. It was just horrible bad luck that Tate happened to be in the house. scream is a movie loosely based on a real serial killer. The movie is about 2 guys copying horror movies which inspired someone to become a real killer because of a movie...what a cluster fuck
yeah well the house is built in 1917, its a house with apartments, people have died in it. the area is historic so it might be, i have never seen anything or felt anything........yet.
Chris McWilliams i think anybody that watches a movie more than 3 times has something wrong with them.either that or they're dumb n dont get it so gotta watch it over n over.
Smi-Le nguyen Well, that depends. I mean I watch movies multiple times but not in a row or within the same day or two. I've a pretty extensive blu ray collection and when the mood strikes I will pull down off the shelf and watch it. I've never watched a movie more than once in a row. The only people I've seen do that are children and people with really weird mental thing.
The letter displayed for the guy inspired by Freddy Krueger is about someone asking for help as they are aware they have mental health issues and need help for depression. They'd been committed to hospital previously and didn't want it to happen again.
I don't get how rosemary ' s baby inspired the manson slayings I thought Charles Manson wanted to start a race war, that's why he sent his followers there nothing to do with the movie
It didn't inspire the Manson murders. Roman Polanski, the director of Rosemary's Baby, was married to Sharon Tate. While he was working on the film, about a Satanic cult, in England, his wife was home in LA alone and was murdered by a cult. Not sure how those facts fit in with the theme of this list, but that is what happened.
***** I agree on the last part. The earlier part, you can't blame me and others who aren't racist for what our ancestors do or what the dumbarse 1% do. I know there are still plenty of racists about, just think it's bad to blame people for what others did years and years ago. We need to fix the present. Unfortunatly that seems quite a distance way.
agreed, Charles Manson didn't watch the film and decide to do it, besides they don't kill the baby in the film, it's not for sacrificing it's the devil's child.... so... you know...
Yeah, and everyone flipped their shit. The actor and the author (the show is based off of a book series) were like "dude, people claim inspiration from horror movies and shows all the time."
I'm Australian and I've never heard anything about Martin Bryant being "inspired" by child's play 2 😂 he was mass murderer. Nothing about his evil resembled that movie! That "man" hunted down a mother and her 2 children, chased them, found them hiding behind a tree, petrified, and murdered the mother and one of her babies point blank! He shot the other little girl in the back as she was screaming and running away! Let's not mention all the other innocent people her slaughtered on a beautiful sunday morning! No inspiration from chucky there.
The question I must ask myself: Do I _want_ to sleep tonight, or do I want to stay up all night being paranoid and be tired all day during school tomorrow?
I was in middle school at Langley Middle School, in Langley, Washington State on Whidbey Island in the early 1990's, and I was in band class on a day when students could bring in music to listen to, and we were listening to "Shout At The Devil" by Motley Crue, when the shed on the school caught on fire. From Paiboon Sunthonchart Jr. the author of "The Devil Is Forgiven".
+theincompetentme People have been complaining about the horror theme now that Halloween's over. +John Salazar is like who cares, just enjoy it. I agree.
I can tell you some movies that inspired me, Blade, which when that came out reminded you of the Columbine High School shooting, a man wearing a black trench coat, carrying a shot gun, Blade hunted vampires, punisher who sometimes dressed the same minus the sunglasses, wearing a punisher shirt, carrying an M203 instead of a shotgun. Blade hunter vampires and the punisher hunted criminals. The Purge, that movie can be inspiring.
I'm surprised none of these creepers got inspired by Halloween. The concept would actually be pretty creative irl but I don't condone killin an all lol
Well actually in the original film, it was just about a stalker killing babysitters. The second film is where they introduced him trying to kill his family and where it was revealed he was trying to kill his sister in the original. I don't believe it was planned though.
10. Scream 9. The Conjuring 8. Saw 7. Child's Play 6. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5. Rosemary's Baby 4. Interview With The Vampire 3. Poltergeist 2. Queen of the Damned 1. The Possession
leafys chin Hi. You're leafys chin, right? I'm Negan. And I do not appreciate you killing my men. Also, when I sent my people to kill your people for killing my people, you killed more of my people. Not cool. Not fucking cool. You have no idea how not cool that shit is. But I think you're gonna be up to speed shortly. Yeah. You are so gonna regret crossing me in a few minutes. Yes, you are. You see, leafys chin, whatever you do, no matter what, you don't mess with the new world order. And the new world order is this, and it's really very simple, so, even if you're fuckin' stupid, which you may very well be, you can understand it. You ready? Here goes. Pay attention. Give me your shit... or I will kill you. Today was career day. We invested in a lot, so you would know who I am and what I can do. You work for me now. You have shit, you give it to me. That's your job. Now, I know that is a mighty big, nasty pill to swallow, but swallow it you most certainly will. You ruled the roost. You built something. You thought you were safe. I get it. But the word is out. You are not safe. Not even close. In fact, you are fucked, even more fucked if you don't do what I want. And what I want is half your shit. And if that's too much, you can make, find, or steal more, and it'll even out sooner or later. This is your way of life now. The more you fight back, the harder it will be. So if someone knocks on your door, you let us in. We own that fuckin' door. You try to stop us and we will knock that fucker down. You understand? You don't really think that you were gonna get through this without being punished, now, did you? I don't want to kill you people. Just want to make that clear from the get-go. I want you to work for me. You can't do that if you're dead, now, can you? I'm not growing a garden. But you killed my people, a whole damn lot of them. More than I'm comfortable with. And for that... For that you're gonna pay. So, now... I'm gonna beat the fuck fucking fuckedity fuck outta one of you.
The title is bullshit. Most of these are "Horror movies that inspired real murders" and the others are "Strange things that happened during the making of horror movies". In my opinion they shouldn't even be discussed in the same video...
The Conjuring: bunch of people who imagined spooky stuff imagined it again and film makers went along with it to justify the 'based on true events' tagline. What a massive surprise.
A lot of crimes were inspired by movies but the media doesn't acknowledge that. But when a crime inspired by a video game happens everyone loses their shit.
Lil S Than why was it shown and covered the theater shooter in Colorado inspired by the Ledger version of the Joker?
Fact is that most people who use inspiration to hurt others or themselves would've found it one way or another. Book/Movie/Game/History, it doesn't matter.

Daria agreed
You really want to see some horribly written fiction google the coroners report on how good a shot a guy with an IQ of 66 can be. No chance in hell Martin Bryant did that shit.

So, wait, did the Conjuring inspire demons to haunt the people or were there fears inspired by the movie?
Well obviously but I mean in the contest of the list. How did the Conjuring come true?
I had wind and "felt a strange evil presence" too the other day, so "The Conjuring" was obviously coming true then as well.
+Stethacan Thus OMG my son has wind ALL THE TIME!!! It is coming true!!
Stethacan Thus Lmao you all need too go to a mentap asylum
It was probably a combination of both

most of them were events inspired by the films..some of the stuff were just weird coincidences...
lilsingingsensation Or so you hope. 😉
hmmmmm.... If the events were inspired by the movies, is it not fair to say the manifestation of them is indeed, eerie???

People who go on to murder other people, because make-believe vampires tell them to do it in their dreams.

It's All Hallows EVE because it's the day before All Soul's Day, November 1.
but that's not how it is culturally celebrated...
I meant All Saint's Day is Nov 1
Most serial killers have been born in November

"Sometimes, it got cold on the set."
Oooooooohhhhh!!!!
cause the temperature can NEVER change on set
Sharrel Wright wowwww did you just say that you live in Scotland?? It's my dream place 😻😻
no shit bro?
It is said that cold temperature can be related to the presence of ghosts in the area. That is what's implied.
Glenn's death was my nightmare
it came true..........
is so sad :(
The TALKING Dead is garbage.
The nightmare death syndrome was actually the inspiration for Nightmare on Elm street.
Loving these video's keep up the awesome work.
I like that Jeffery Dean Morgan, who played John Winchester, a demon/mythical creature hunter, in Supernatural, is a skeptic.
Anyone who watches "Queen of the Damned" 100 times has to have something wrong with them to start with. I barely got through it once.
Chris McWilliams the Books were better,,
Chris McWilliams i think anybody that watches a movie more than 3 times has something wrong with them.either that or they're dumb n dont get it so gotta watch it over n over.

Smi-Le nguyen Well, that depends. I mean I watch movies multiple times but not in a row or within the same day or two.

While he was working on the film, about a Satanic cult, in England, his wife was home in LA alone and was murdered by a cult. Not sure how those facts fit in with the theme of this list, but that is what happened.
Derek Fisher if there's a god he'd know we didn't do that. It was our ancestors.
***** I agree on the last part. The earlier part, you can't blame me and others who aren't racist for what our ancestors do or what the dumbarse 1% do.
I know there are still plenty of racists about, just think it's bad to blame people for what others did years and years ago. We need to fix the present. Unfortunatly that seems quite a distance way.
agreed, Charles Manson didn't watch the film and decide to do it, besides they don't kill the baby in the film, it's not for sacrificing it's the devil's child.... so... you know...
He wanted the people who had lived there before dead, Sharon and the others were just in the wrong place at the worst possible time.
Look, it's November. Stop it now.
Paul Grant It's only the first. There is nothing wrong with that
I've got a feeling this video was meant to go up yesterday
Still time for Dia de Muertos!
+Word Unheard I died 7 years ago
Betsy's been dead for ten years.
I know it's not a film but Dexter inspired some killings
WAT
Hayden Peeperkoorn fact?
Yeah, and everyone flipped their shit. The actor and the author (the show is based off of a book series) were like "dude, people claim inspiration from horror movies and shows all the time."
+Ludovic Ovsepian hahahaha
Hayden Peeperkoorn i too become a genius and have my own lab with an annoying sister
When I started watching this I grabbed a knife for bed so the serial killer won't eat me #ProTip
This really should have been titled differently. Odd things relating to horror movies and crimes inspired by them.
See, when a set appears haunted you throw the whole movIe away
I doubt a multi million dollar movie would get cancelled cuz someone felt a breeze or a fuse got blown.
WFDolphinPilot when you say it like that...
Kitty Claus
My dogs did the same thing that the director's dogs did. Apparently, dogs can detect ghosts.
ChihuahuaDaddy - so can cats. My cat used to have conversations with the ghosts that lived in a housed I rented. They would play with each other.
Can your animals sense your severe Autism?
Dethmasheen
I wasn't aware that you have a medical degree. How do you diagnose autism, Dr. Dethmasheen?
I asked your Chihuahua.
No they can't because ghosts are not real.
The guy from the possession, is that the same one that plays Negan in the walking dead?
Emily 'Kawaii' Chan I thought so thanks!
yeah thats Negan
nope that's John Winchester
yes
To quote Scream "Movies don't make psychos; movies make psychos more creative."
LOL WHY I JUMP SO HARD WHEN CHUCKY POPPED UP
DJ Fault same!!!!!!
Lol right as I read that he popped up and scared the shit out of me.
DJ Fault omg same dude
Well basically most of these are kids and idiots being inspired by horror movies, and trying to recreate the horror movies they saw.

A day late? Who cares? It's still entertaining!
Plus, it's the Day of the Dead, so really not over yet. ;)
what does day of the dead have to do with this video?
+theincompetentme People have been complaining about the horror theme now that Halloween's over. +John Salazar is like who cares, just enjoy it. I agree.
On 19 March, 2000, 16 years before Donald Trump was elected president, The Simpsons aired an episode in which Donald Trump is elected president.
Daniel Danielsen yeah yeah, we all know this story by now
The true Horror.
AHHHHHHHH
xD
Daniel Danielsen yeah I found out about that today😂
Daniel Danielsen That's true 😂😂
Am I the only one who doesn't really like The Conjuring? I found it boring and the ending was worse than I expected
it was the least scary horror movie in my opinion
Awesome_Dazzle Manuel the least scary movie is the newest version of Rings, it was so dumb
"dig up your granddad"
OMG DEAD LMAO
I'm surprised none of these creepers got inspired by Halloween. The concept would actually be pretty creative irl but I don't condone killin an all lol
Jose Charm Halloween isn't far fetched though, it's just a guy who murdered his family members. People do that shit all the time.
Daria no but the way he stalked and meticulously planned out his kills without making a sound. that is what made his character so creepy
Well actually in the original film, it was just about a stalker killing babysitters. The second film is where they introduced him trying to kill his family and where it was revealed he was trying to kill his sister in the original. I don't believe it was planned though.
did you say dig up your granddad!!?? lol
Flintstones, OOooooh.
Negan looks scared in this one..

3. Poltergeist

When u said dig out ur granddad that's just sad because only recently my granddad passed away...
7:03 I remember pre-zombie days.
why did u kill glenn
leafys chin Hi.
Remember Chewbacca...?
Jeb Atman Ooooooh I member!
And dig up your grandad because it's time to get spoopy
Narrator: the conjuring
*shows what i think is a girl hugging that looks like chucky*
Wesley Kim Soguilon , I thought the same thing until I realized it was the Annabelle doll! 😂
Wesley Kim Soguilon its the poster for the movie..
That poltergeist one freaked me out.
3:54 That syndrome is what inspired the film in the first place.
And I'm up watching this at 2:46 in the morning. Shit...
The title is bullshit. Most of these are "Horror movies that inspired real murders" and the others are "Strange things that happened during the making of horror movies". In my opinion they shouldn't even be discussed in the same video...
Alexandra Mikka YES! I agree >.
The only thing that i have to dust off in my closet is Dan and Phil
Emily Read I live for this comment
Emily Read OMG ME TO
Emily Read same
The Conjuring: bunch of people who imagined spooky stuff imagined it again and film makers went along with it to justify the 'based on true events' tagline. What a massive surprise.
this video is so good, what do you use to edit?
jeffery dean morgan should have put his hunting skills to use xd
