Richard was one of the most brutally honest people to ever grace Hollywood-Miss you Kind sir
People have made him out to be a terrible person but Richard lived the life he wanted and spoke truth using all this energy its sad he suffered from MS but at least he accomplished what did
“His gift is honesty and poetry - He can take something real and turn it into something where you can sit around and can cry a little and laugh a lot” 💞 thank you for sharing your art with us Mr. Richard Pryor
George and Richard's phone conversation literally brought me to tears.
Me too! True friends! You can listen and see it on Richard eyes.
True Friendship right there !!!
He always hold the joint longer.
George, stop it - Larry
you're without a doubt spot on.
This tears me up. What a beautiful and troubled soul he was, RIP Richard Pryor❤️
Rest in peace Richard Pryor. For better or for worse you made us all of us laugh. Thank you for sharing your gift.
for sure. entirely correct man
Hey
Richard Pryor is still missed even today but his movies and his comedies on stage is on DVD and in books and on CD's.
It's really haunting seeing those 3 legends and knowing that they are all gone at this moment in time. But their legacy lives on. Rest in peace Richard. RIP Larry and George. :)
peace*
@@denverchicano202 thank you, brother
and bernie mac
They all, as individuals literally shaped the life we know today ,the comedy the live shows ,storey telling they did it all and they'll forever be Goated and unmatched
also just lost another great one in Carl weathers, not a comedian I know but made some of the most impactful movies I've ever seen
You know, I smile, every time I see this man.. I also miss him so very much. Thank you for sharing, this with us.
I've had ms over 20yrs now....it's such a debilitating condition....forever in our hearts Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder such a brilliant comedic team.. God missed Richard Pryor so much He orchestrated his early departure... REST IN PEACE ANGEL✌ 🙏 💕💞♥❤💖💓💕💞♥ 💕
this is beautiful. richard was loved by the masses.
Life is such a tragedy. So many people came and left a mark and then died never returning. RIP to all three legends.
Long Live Richard Pryor and Larry King !!!! 💯💯💯💯🙌🏾
The 👑 of comedy Richard Pryor, one of a kind, respect, rip
Not just The King of Comedy, but a King of LIFE! 💪
Richard Pryor! I loved his sense of humor. He answered all the difficult questions with humility and class!
The great & only prolific comedic genius, Richard Pryor!!
SO MUCH RESPECT FOR RICHARD PRYOR, ❤️ SO HONEST AND A VERY STRAIGHT UP PERSON, NOT FULL OF PRIDE, VERY DOWN TO EARTH ❤️
R I P🙏🏽 YOU ARE MISSED 😪💕
Could hear on his voice . Richard fading away. He really was the funniest GREATEST character of them ALL! Had HIS own style class open and honest and friendly and just lovable.. He was our no. I MAN. When we were LOVING comedy.. Just didn't like the cursing he did? We start hearing less of him. But his movies we laughed and cried for days laughing. LOVED him.
spot on. _100%_ correct man
Pryor is an American legend.
He was seems like the ultimate sweet heart. Love him .
He wasnt
Go watch him live high on Coke on Mormon TV interview. ..he was an angry man. Way b4 this interview
This is my favorite all time comic. I was a kid in the 70s sneaking n listening to my dads Richard Pryor albums. I knew his comedy style perfectly. When my parents had company over all the kids had to go in the room, but I would be called out to be the performer. I would do my Richard Pryor routines n make fun of all the adults there. Some of them swore I would be a comedienne when I grew up. I knew I was funny but not so much I wanted to be in the business. I have comics I love for different reasons. There are comics who can write/direct, are beast at stand up, the ones who are great in movies then the ones who can do it all. Richard Pryor is at the top of my comic list of comics who can do absolutely everything.. The few who are on close playing field like Bernie Mac, and Chris Tucker. You had some who followed his lead to success like Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy. The ones who I'm in awe of when their on stage like , Eddie Griffin ,Robin Harris and Katt Williams. I love the conscious comics like D.L. Hughley. We need them all for different times and reasons. Without this genius there would be no Bernie or Katt thank God for that. RIP King Richard, you are terribly missed........shannon b
Well said!
Like Muhammad Ali ..... Richard Pryor was the Greatest nuff said! RIP.
Goat
I agree but he's is like Ali right the goat if Ali had invented boxing
Ali was nothing Pryor was nothing. Tyson would have mopped the floor with Cassias all Pryor did with cuss. Chappelle rules!!! But God rest their souls.
Bill Smlth y
He was very bright
Richard Pryor is a Recovery HERO. Anytime you hear him talk about Recovery (from the 80s to his very last interview) you could tell from his verbiage that he understood recovery and really lived it, falls and all! Every time he fell he got back up and kept right on Recovering. 💪
Very very tough to see one of my heroes like this...God bless his soul...
Richard said he was not a good actor but I beg to differ-watch his tremendous performance in BLUE COLLAR-it's a must watch
"Blue Collar" was truly his best (and very underrated) dramatic role.
I have multiple sclerosis and am in constant pain. Im glad he did not have pain with his ms.
PAngel45
Everyone's MS is different. I've been in constant pain for 3 years with MS. Medical Marijuana really helps dull the pain.
His heart came thru no matter what he did. RIP King Rich (glad yr free).
Such a wonderful interview. A bit of a side note: I recently re-watched Live On The Sunset Strip & JoJo Dancer and always thought he was at least 6'4" or taller and was so surprised to learn that he stood at 5'10" tall! Just a testament to his presence and larger than life character. RIP to the greatest to ever do it.
for real dude. 1000% spot on.
I thought he was about 6'2. But he still looked big
It's tough seeing him like this...and to know he had it for that long
Thanks for posting this interview. I really miss Richard Pryor.
Rest in peace Richard
Richard Pryor... The Godfather of comedy! Bernie Mac & Eddie Murphy The Kings of comedy! Katt Williams & Dave Chappelle, The 2 prince's of Comedy (Aka, The successors & The Last of a dying breed)!!
John Witherspoon
Kevin Hart and Patrice the modern comedians
What about George Carlin :(
Bill Burr is better than a few of those that you named. If your talking strictly black comics, then I might tweak the list by 1 or 2 people, but I agree with you. But just comics in general, no.
@@bmac2814 no bill burr mainly disses blacks. He’s not that funny either
Richard Pryor is the foundation of the wonderful comics we have today 2024.
He like to keep things real. Miss Him. R. I. P.
Greetings! It breaks my heart for the things that he had to do in order to Rise to the top... R.I.P. Richard Pryor
Seeing that made me laugh, and realize how much I miss Mr. Pryor. Thank you for sharing.
It's hard to watch this.
The man looked so sad. To know how much pain was behind the jokes might be the most
profound revelation behind it all.
A man stands on a stage, talks about his life, and we all laughed with him.
How many cried with him I wonder?
ya but that's life
Rip the leyend 😢😢 richhard pryor
Rest in paradise
39:53 True! Absolutely true! I can listen to his voice for hours and I won't get tired or annoyed. When I'm watching a movie with him or simply just an interview his voice is always calming and it makes me feel safe. What a legend! RIP KING OF COMEDY ❤️👑 YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!
The great Richard Pryor the greatest comedian ever to walk this great planet of ours and bess us all with his iconic comical genius is truly a god given blessing to have heard to witness to watch and behold such greatness that we will never ever see again in our lives that to me is truly a great blessing from God to have allowed us to see what he can do and accomplish with the time he was given but we never wanted him to go if any of us could have asked God to give us more time with him all of us would have gladly proudly drop to our very knees and ask God to give this great man another extension of time to be with us but unfortunately time ran out so he was taken from us forever I know where he is he is in heaven knocking the all down with devastating comedy like he did with us all here on earth we are all in awe of this great great man and forever inspired God bless you Richard I love you forever where you will be in my heart and im sure I'm not alone in that sentiment
so wow right around the time of Jo Jo Dancer 1986 was when he started to get sick 😢 one of my fav Pryor movies of all time im glad he was well enough to do Harlem Nights and got his wish to work with Eddie Murphy, i never need to see anything else after those 2 films. He wouldve been 84 yrs old now
Every time I watch this and it gets to the calls, I tear up all the way through (and I'm no crier). The love coming through those phone calls was REAL. And Brett Butler just about got EVERYBODY choked up. That a comedian as good as Brett called and didn't crack one joke spoke VOLUMES about how she felt about Richard Pryor. This world really misses him.
The second interview is probably Richard at his most calm and relaxed. It was a great interview. Thank u very much for posting.
Damn. Wow, I must've missed this. Thanks @Reelblack.
I'm glad him and Eddie got a chance to work together on Harlem Knights. Excellent movie and awesome performance by all the actors!😎💯
R .I .P. RICHARD PRYOR THE G.O.A.T I LOVE YOU MY BROTHER THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.
MR. RICHARD PRYOR!!!
Still waiting on the movie about Mr. Pryor's life story (not Jojo Dancer). 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
pintobeanpintobean me too and Teddy Pendergrass
I don’t know if the fictional one will ever happen. But There’s a new documentary out now on DVD called I Am Richard Pryor.
Gotta be from the Mooney/Rain camp for me. The Paramount Network one was alright.
@@DarkEliteEric great biopic & RP narrative!!
@@juliettebrown2673 Jojo Dancer? He changed some details (not sure why) but you can't get much better than him directing it himself. Paul Mooney has a book, and funnily enough, it starts with him meeting Richard. Mick Jagger did that movie and showed James Brown slapping his wife. No origin, just a shocking moment. Richard was raised by pimps which lead to how he treated women and why he was married twice. A good movie today would go over that, talk about his relationship with Pam Grier and why it fell apart, show why he married two if his wives twice (there's an interview with Flynn Belaine where she said she nursed him back to health then he started hoing again) It'd show his relationship with Gene Wilder (Wilder detailed their chemistry in brief on Conan) and it could detail his later years... but like I said I trust the Mr. Mooney/Ms. Rain Pryor camp more. Jennifer Lee will have him screwing fat Marlon Brando and shit? Where did they meet? I don't think Brando was even in Superman III at all! Who else he screw Jennifer? Jackie Gleason? Haha right! Anyone see Eddie Griffin's betrayal of Richard the Black Dynamite cartoon? I laugh and cry every time I see it.
I'm here cuz I grew up watching this guy and thankful to have experienced such a great guy. Fortunately I was too young to focus on his drug addictions. Anything with Gene was a classic and the best comedy we don't get to see anymore. A great, a genius, a poet, the realist man in the business. God bless him and family 🙏❤️❣️
Rip Richard, George Carlin, and Larry King🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
And 2 years later, he starred with Eddie Murphy in the classic Harlem Nights! Thanks for this, always nice to see Richard Pryor the GOAT!
Harlem nights was made in 88 this interview was in 1995..relax 😒
@@FeeOnRUclips Harlem Nights is from 1989 and the part where Richard talks about wanting to work with Eddie Murphy is a segment from January 1987, as it says. Watch the whole video... relax.
Damn he looked good there, too!
God bless you mr pryor one of the greats i love the movies respect

I loved him in Silver Streak. The funniest scene is when he and Gene Wilder are in the bathroom with shoe polish trying to make Gene Wilder Black
My All Time Favorite Movie 🎥 !!!
It sad 2 see a gr8,courageous,genius suffer.I was diagnosed with MS on 2018.I started 2 suffer slowly since 2013.Cancer is better, coz it can kill.MS has no cure.It destroy ur body functions.

Did anyone notice in the news crawl below they were talking about the government practicing and being prepared for a pandemic? That took me out
Amazing, How he came through with his Comedy, cause his real life was Dramatic! Too many women taking advantage of Him. And Family! God Bless this Man for handling all of that. Flynn Belaine Pryor really took him down the Path. I have stories. I know......
Two greats that have passed on.
As you can see, Comedy is No Joke! Love you Richard, and Thank You!
RIP Mr.Richard Pryor. and Mr. Larry King.
You can tell with that heart felt "thanks George" that Pryor also admired Carlin and that being called "The Master" by Carlin really meant something to him. People compares them with Chapelle or Louis Ck, but I think that Pryor and Carlin were way better than everybody else. They were honest and not so full of themselves like Chappelle or Louis Ck. They were controversial in a time were being controversial was really dangerous for the Status quo and they were not even arrogant about their talent and bravery. Long live Richard Pryor and George Carlin.
I just started watching his comedy. His comedy has no equal. RIP
It gives me joy that people are still discovering Richard Pryor. That's what's up!
The Comedy Genius. The Greatest Of All Time!!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💥🔥many try to imitate🙏RIP🌹
RIP 🙏 Richard. I grew up in the 70s and Richard Pryor was a big part of my life. I took his albums from my brother and would sit and listen to them in my bedroom. I would laugh like a nut job. Then I saw Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, Live on the Sunset Strip, etc. He was a troubled but beautiful person. Richard made me laugh in this interview.....the lady tells him not to lose his sense of humor and he says "thank you very much sir" hahaha
Oh yes! He was a Actor too !
HBO do a Richard Pryor bio next
🕊 peace to the God
The GOAT!
Richard used to run the all the shows he is on Pryor show, Johnny Carson etc... Looks like he got humbled now
R.I.P. Richard Pryor
sad what happened to his health later in life. always hard to see someone wither away slowly. specially a legend. and someone who was so lively.
And so intelligent ! And funny! Funny! No body? Could NEVER take HIS PLACE..
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love you Rich
Toledo Ohio, called in. Hey!!!!😎🌍🌴🔥🔥🔥
I miss Richard Pryor bro R.I.P man
Richard you are my hero ❤
😢😢😢Rest in Peace Richard. ❤️
Thee Greatest
Legend.
I have a relative with MS and several friends and everyone knows that drug use does not cause it! His questions are vivid stupidity!
People wonder these things!! He had used drugs and burnt himself up. It's a good question!!!
@@DarkEliteEric l wonder if you're smoking Crack! But judging from appearances it's probably meth!
@@neutralitythought that's unnecessary
Not a dumb question. I have two relatives who had/have drug problems and both diagnosed with MS.
Richard was right in this interview. The "luck of the draw" is just the right combination of things (usually stress) that "unlock" the disease. At least, that's what doctors theorize nowadays.
So while drugs themselves don't cause the disease, it is quite possible that the stress associated with drug use CAN.
@@Arkadysom
I've never done drugs in my life, and was diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis three years ago at age 50. Genetic and environmental factors, coupled with stress, can lead to MS. I started using Medical Marijuana, prescribed by my doctor this year, to combat the pain and spasms. MS is an "unlucky" draw - getting this disease, and every case is different. My MS is not like Richard Pryor, Annette Funnicello or Selma Blair.
KING OF COMEDY!!!
Miss pryor..all time finest
Comedic legend and genuis! Rip!
“CNN the most trusted name in news” damn those were some different times
To be fair, they were saying that about themselves lmao
The brightest light's don't burn for too long, they call them comets
Larry King was the best interviewer in history.

He said being on fire was scary and petrifying and awesome.
R l P Richard Pryor
Wow. Eddie Murphy's impression of him was spot on.....he just needed Pryor to age another 20 to 30 years so it would sound just like him lol
So glad Harlem Nights was made. #pinkytoe #hoodclassic
Thank you, Eddie!
Yes!!!
