However, I will retire in 3 years. I enjoy researching RVs, camping, and travel. The LTV RTB is my number #1 favorite small motorhome for retirement. I will check out your other video detailed video. We first owned the much more costly Airstream Interstate that we thankfully traded on an LTV Unity twin bed. Absolutely no manufacturer compares with LTV for quality and value. Also resale value. Astonishing how much value it keeps and how quickly you can resell it. There are countless reasons why LTV is backordered about a year. Well worth the wait.

    • @stevesent1
      @stevesent1 2 года назад

      Hi, Can you share what your Airstream issues were?

    • @bobshoe1
      @bobshoe1 2 года назад

      @@stevesent1 Bad design, bad execution. The Interior designed for looks, not practicality. Stupid things added like electric powered shades and screens, that could never be synched. An electric macerator hose reel that jammed the hose when turned on and blew its fuse. Cabinet button locks that were cosmetic and didn’t lock cabinets so emptied its contents on turns. Putting the heavy microwave in a lower drawer that flew out on turns. Worst was the rear side seats had wooden sides to hold a useless and painful mechanism. When the sofa was lowered into a bed and you attempted to sleep, your knees were destroyed hitting wooden pieces that were used to hold the side seat mechanisms. Etc. Etc. It was a costly mistake that we made.

    • @stevesent1
      @stevesent1 2 года назад

      @@bobshoe1 Wow, I am guessing the Airstream Atlas is just as bad as they carry a lot of the same components. The Atlas sure looks good, but..... I read a couple of bad reviews on a forum for the Atlas and the LTV seems to be real community where the Airstream's "comparable products" seems non-existent. Thank you for sharing!

    • @bobshoe1
      @bobshoe1 2 года назад

      @@stevesent1 Airstream Atlas on the MB Sprinter chassis is an overpriced and not as well executed copy of a late model LTV. Does not compare with the newer LTVs. Any LTV Unity (on the MB Sprinter chassis) is far superior. LTV was the first RV manufacturer to build on the MB Sprinter chassis. It’s Wonder on the Ford Transit chassis is also superb. We have a new Coachmen Beyond AWD with Lithium package on the Ford Transit chassis. It’s fabulous.

    Great Video - we watched Dean for a few years while we waited to sell our home. When it finally sold, we were able to find a New, Late 2020 RTB Wonder built on the 2020 Gas Chassie. Like you, we've had our issues, but having owned boats for many years, we were used to dealing with such issues. Customer Service has been good and after watching your video I realize we choose LTV for many of the same reasons.

    We made the decision to sell our home and joining the nomad life as full timer. Currently we are leaning towards 2021 Wonder RL and have visited a dealership in CA. So far several including this video have issues even when it's brand new...this is discouraging. But I'm grateful for the honesty. We are now looking other than leisure van. Yes! Dean is awesome with the walk through. At the same I will not invest over 100K that is brand new with instant issues or problems.

      I too am looking to buy our first RV, although not for full-time living. I’ve done a TON of research and no one RV mfg is perfect. You will find many videos where people have encountered problems with their new RVs, across many brands. In fact most experienced RVers will tell you to be prepared for things to break. The key is to find a reputable dealer, as well as reputable brand and good warranty. Leisure Travel is among whats considered a premium brand, along with Pleasure Way and Airstream. These brands are known for their quality, reliability, fit and finish of their coaches. Also, just as when you purchase a home, you can hire an inspector to check everything on your rig so you can identify issues on the spot and have them addressed BEFORE driving it off the lot 👍🏼

    Great job and Thank you! I just placed a deposit on a 2021 Wonder AWD RL. I chose LTV for most if not all of your reasons. The RTB was my second choice. I decided on the RL for the amount of living space. I will be living in it full time, so I felt having more living space would suit my intentions (and personality) best. I am preparing myself for the potential issues which can and will arise once I receive my and I thank you for reinforcing the importance of being malleable. Thank you again. Yes. It has an HDMI matrix which allows up to 4 different devices that can be played on either of the 2 TVs. It came with a smart blu Ray player that can stream from Netflix and all the other streaming platforms. But I ended up adding an Apple TV to use as well. And with the Winegard WiFi booster that comes standard, it’s been easy to get a good reliable internet connection when available.

      These are my two favorites. Would love to hear about your ventures upon using you RL. Yes, the best living space and great camp view in RL. I think I will have to be far more disciplined or less adventurous than I am with as little storage as RL has. But awesome living space and easily operates as an office. At 6'4" I also have to be very aware of which bed I get. Too many are typically short.

    Because I've been watching a ton of RV Videos, yours came up today. I agree with all 10. Really similar except a few things, I have not purchased yet. I saw Dean about a month ago, and was hooked with Leisure. Every video after, you could not compare. I'm thinking seriously about selling everything, and going top level. I'm talking every option. Also more swaying towards the Unity MB (Murphy Bed), with lounge chairs. If you watch the video, I like the TV set up, and you can use the bed with out pulling out the side. I just watched a video, comparing a Ford and Mercedes or Wonder and Unity. Something I did not think of: Maintenance. Couple said it was over $200 for an oil change vs. $60 for the Ford. Also going for service where the bay doors can fit the RV. Just wanted your thoughts on the Wonder vs. Unity. I'm giving myself 10-12 month plan. Friend of mine likes the Winnebago View. I did not like the View because you had to add a cushion to the front seats, when turned around. Also had some great advise to rent a B+ for a week or so, to see what travel would be like. Did not know the order time was so long, maybe by the end of next summer, 2020's used?

This put me way out of synch to buy an LTV and I need an RV with that danged garage! So it'll be another brand for about half the price and 1/3rd the quality.

    Watched both your videos this morning and subscribed. Thanks for sharing the walkthrough and for the idea to record ours when that eventually happens down the road. I know the walk through was not intended to be shared but wanted to confirm production video of the newest video was great. We look forward to following your travels and experiences when you can get everything fixed and on the road. We've narrowed our search to the Wonder RTB and RL and will have a chance to see both in person in late October. I'm 5'11" and am very concerned about the significantly lower ceiling to accommodate the bike garage in the RTB. Although you will likely cover this in a video soon, can you give a short comparison of the "roominess" of the bedroom areas of each (RTB vs RL)?

      Liked & subscribed, but I have to say, though it's really good and useful to watch the LTV videos and use a well-designed website, I would never put such temporary conveniences on a 10-most-important reasons to buy list. I think such a list should only include things that you're going to be dealing with day in and day out. A few months down the road (if not a few days) when you're discovering quirks or annoyances -- or even hidden treasures -- I don't think how professional their website was or how entertaining their CEO is in videos -- I don't think those things are going to retain any importance at all in overall ownership. So I am surprised to see those on a top-10 list of reasons to choose Leisure.

      I was able to negotiate a lower price from the dealer when I found out it was a 2020, and from what I can tell, the main differences are the latches on the exterior storage, and a slight change to the interior. Other than that, everything else is the same as the 2021.

    As a parochial school teacher it would take me about 8 years to be able to afford it and that’s not spending money on living!
    My priorities are different than these 10.
    #1 for me is reliability! I don’t want anything breaking in the first 100,000 miles like my Kia minivan. How pretty it is doesn’t cut it if I can’t trust it to run and run and run. I want it to be like a Timex watch, takes a lickin and keeps on running
    #2 Reliability, see #1
    #3 the problems you experienced makes me want them to offer free roadside assistance for 10 years. The response arrival time should be 2 hours.
    #4 Customer service responsiveness
    #5 overall quality, durability and reliability. See #1

    Wait! Let me try to understand: you paid for a 2021 model and got a 2020 (seems like an issue of dealer dishonesty), radiator hose problem only 30 miles into your maiden trip (seems like a quality control issue but you listed quality as one of the reasons you bought LTV) and refrigerator ammonia leak. Don’t get me wrong. I am not here to trash you. I am looking to buy a class B or B+ and have narrowed my final choices to LTV and Pleasure-Way after watching hundreds of hours of video on RUclips. The closest LTV dealer from where I live is 170 miles away. It would be helpful if you explain in your video how you solved the problem. As your new RV is still under warranty, I would imagine LTV would fix the problems. However, did you have to have your RV towed to the nearest LTV dealership, or just any RV repair shop and LTV would pay for it, provided you obtained pre-authorization from them? In a hypothetical case, if my LTV RV has problems that don’t affect the driving but need to be fixed (refrigerator, AC, water leak, etc.), am I required to drive 3-4 hours to the dealer hoping they can take care of it that same day (and if not, I would have to stay in a nearby hotel, incurring additional cost)?

      @@TheScenicExplorer when you look at the prices of a 2021, they are higher than what is shown in this video. Now, I don’t know if that’s LTV trying to gouge or take advantage of the popularity of RVs since the pandemic or if it was an older year’s pricing. That’s all I was trying to convey.

      What prices are shown in this video? And the price of the 2021 and 2020 would have been the same at the end of the day. Any again, this video was made a year ago so if prices have increased, the increase would have happened after the video was made and posted. Still really confused as to what you are taking about, but I respect you and your opinion of the situation.

    Have you taken this van and live on it in an extreme weather? How did it performed? Or you sold it coz it's over-rated worthless junk?

      We did not take it in any extreme weather....besides close to 100 degrees down here in Florida. It performed very well...once the radiator hose was connected properly. We did sell it...BUT, only because we wanted to upgrade to a Class A. We have owned over 8 RVs, and Leisure Travel is BY FAR the most well made of all the brands we have owned.

    So you bought a Wonder? No Wonder you had chassis-related problems. Why anybody would buy anything with a Ford label is a Wonder to me. Given the loads and demands, the eco-bust engine will not last 100k miles, and I Wonder how many other problems you will have. Other brands like Dometic are also no Wonder they give problems. Made in USA is guaranteed not to last - no Wonder about that. The USA dealer tried to sell you hamburger? No wonder about that, either.
