Great set and everything but I bet nobody there knew what kind of amazing career they were witnessing in its early stages. I'd even wager there are a few that have never heard of Autechre even on that day. They just showed up, danced and went on their way and people now would kill to have been in their place.
Gotta Go and get me a time machine mate! This is one of those sets in which you don't really needed the eccies, its flawless eccies would hace been nice but damn! Early Autechre were sooo good!
I can see loads of faces I knew and still know now in this footage it’s so nostalgic this! I still don’t remember going but I was definitely there! Or not?lol 😳Sweatbox 2 was the night!
+scherben Great! The first song is obviously Cavity Job, but what about the others? How did You figure the other titles? 14:23 Total meltdown. So raw it's even horrifying a little.
+scherben whoa, care to share it via youtube? that would be awesome! yeah, Flight Deck is a gem. Lego Feet re-release contains this song, but live version is much-much better
+Роман Кузьменко I would share 'em, as I had Flight Deck and the self titled track on the same c90. However, back in '94, I lent it to a girlfriend who promptly binned me off; without returning the tape. So I lost the two Autechre tracks, and a load of techno/house from '91; that, fortunately, is much easier to find. (Also, I've no way at the moment to convert vinyl or tape to digital). Maybe I should start an on-line petition asking her to give it back? :) (Didn't know Flight Deck had been released; thanks for that info.)
I wonder if the fellas ever took home any club lassies after these sets? I quite like the thought of Sean shuffling out with an SH-101 under one arm and a young waist under the other
Sean did an AMA a couple months back and he said the track they play there is actually "Saw You", I'd give the timestamp where he says it but the video's 6 hours long and I don't want to have to go through it
Great music, not that I'm surprised as it's Autechre playing the tunes. They played some great music back then. A shame the video features 90% blokes though.
***** now thats the spirit. should not approach people that are talking about quality music like a child in the first place. want to join in and talk about music all day thats great but keep the negitivity out. as you can see people were 1+ my comments to begin with so you have to consider that before you approach me like that. i wish you luck on your journey through life. take care and thanks for changing your attitude.

As a child of Rochdale and a fan of Autechre, this is an incredible document of history
Play this set on any dance floor today, and it's still ahead of it's time.
absolutely
It's because so much of club music today is just the same overly loud song being played over and over again by every DJ
Whistle overload
Whistle was ok for one track, otherwise ruining this archival electronic music footage. What a great year in music
This has to be one of the greatest dance videos of all time!
Couldn't agree more...
Still the best video ever uploaded to RUclips.
Just to remember, these guys made Exai and elseq.
do you mean that in a good way orrrr
@@jackpaint6968exai is awesome
What a great slice of history. Thanks from someone who was not sentient at the time.
You’re comment is also a slice of history
So many faces from every part of town :) Them were the mad old days :)
Top days grace, like tripping wearing teddy bear outfits.. 😂😂
Classic Legofeet era business, loving it!
I was there💥🤪Chaddy YOU KNOW THE SCORE HARDCORE 💯!!

Wat a top nite we ad,no wonder my eye sight is no good now (strobes)pms sooo gd to see this my youth has just come flooding bk thanks for posting
This is without doubt the greatest video I have ever seen. Who would've thought over 20 years ago that this video would surface? Brilliant.

Update on this, Sean said in an ama that the track at 13:03 is in fact "Saw You"
even more update, the 16:48 track is actually saw you, the actual track just got posted to Sean's mastodon

I remember these nights well, Xanadus on a Thursday was class as well, then i moved on to Angels in Burnely then to the hac :) good good days.
Now THIS is a party.
Damn, Autechre... they've already climbed the highest mountain in 1991.
Mate, that was the shamen.
god damn - apparently they've always been the best
A gem of a video! wish I had been there man
PROPER PILLS
Better than a night out in Rochdale now lol
20 years later still sounds awesome!!! Autechre are music genius!!!!
Thanks for sharing this little treasure! So good!!!
This is awesome!

neandrewthal they barely had any public releases back in ‘91

Wow I totally forgot that Autechre existed in 91, what a great footage and music. People look real, not fake like EDM dancers

when club culture wasn't about seperating music genres (and people)
...but about whistling childish rhythms louder than the actual music?
You got that from this one clip?
I dunno mate, Whistling probably was fun when you were peaking on your trip :)

I'm having flashbacks watching this. In a good way. What a gem to unearth and drop on us. Cheers!
thanks for sharing it! fantastic live! that was music.
This is a real relic right here! Thanks for posting.
Right...looks so impossibly distant. People actually dancing and still able to smoke inside the club!
Thanks!! This is great!
these 20 years ago were years far away in music than all the sheet one sees nowadays
Thank you for uploading! :)
27 years ago exactly this was happening.

Soooo good. Cutting their own groove.
GREAT!!!!
great vid! look at all those eyes popping out of their sockets! haha awesome....... and people are actually in the moment!
some rare footage of some proper acid/techno back when it was still underground. Lets hope this doesn't get deleted or massed with advertising...
when you think you see yourself there and realise it's your dad when he was your age😂
Supposedly, you can hear the track "Autechre" at 13:04. They would later start using this as their band name, since they liked the name of it so much.
Sean did an AMA a couple months back and he said the track they play there is actually "Saw You", I'd give the timestamp where he says it but the video's 6 hours long and I don't want to have to go through it
@@Quants0 He just said on Mixlr the last track is "Saw You"
hard to believe this is 1991, Incunabula came out in 1993 if I remember rightly. Happy days back then, I loved their first 2 albums
I didn't realize how good the track @ 17:00 is.
Anyone know what track it is?
I've been looking for this one for ages. Does it sample wham last Christmas haha?

MischMaschify ive been trying to find this out also. Anyone

Yeah I've wanted to know this for about 7 years now!
Wow! This must be the earliest live footage of Autechre?
Yeah, as of now it’s currently the earliest footage of Autechre performing live.
that bit at 5:06 is killing me!
Only almost Dmx Krew is alive and kicking
What's the track list of the whistles. °Pure ecstacy to my Ears.
Anyone able to identify the gear they’re using in this video? I see an SH-101 and that’s about it, could be an SH-2 as well.
Pretty sure it’s an SH-2
They'd be enough to ruin the night for me regardless of how awesome the music is.
wheres the mixing deck master channel output recording of this set plz
Lego Feet! and Warp Tapes, pretty much
One big waaaaaaave of hyper consciousness gargantua from Autchre's hideout faaaaaar faaaaaar beyond our Oort cloud........
