I drive a real vnl 860 and Volvo is definitely a top choice truck to go with when driving over the road, luxury, comfort, performance and much more. Scs is really doing an awesome job with this game, finally gave devs that actually listen to their fan base
Drive a VNL and Cascadia... they don't call em freightshakers for nothing!
I drive a VNR day cab and SCS has done a great job modeling the VNL. Half the reason I haven't gone OTR with my current employer and instead have stayed in a day cab despite missing the adventure of OTR is that while 80% of our day cabs are Volvos, 90% of the sleeper trucks are Freightliners. I just refuse to sacrifice the ride quality.
Wow! I gotta say after getting a good 50 min drive in the truck, I am so amazed with how nice it is drive, very smooth! The sounds are spot on! It’s a huge difference and they nailed this big time in the sounds department from getting the real recordings. The trucks look so much nicer and it just brings that realism type of feeling! Very nice job SCS with this truck. I’ll definitely be trucking more later tonight after work. The first 50 mins was good enough to get a feel of the truck
Do LED headlights actually work as expected? I feel they are still presented as old school halogens...
Every truck ingame has authentic sounds... that's why i started playing this game all those years ago.

@@SharathM46 there are mods to switch the headlights to LED. I don't why but scania in ETS 2 actually have different headlight effects
@@rayjin1952 yup.. Scania, New Gen Renault, and new DAF all have proper LED light visibility
@@SharathM46 either way the lights don’t bother but I would love to have them give us the option to have LEDs or not, some of these trucks have LEDs in the real world and some don’t a lot of them don’t

Solid truck, restarted my profile last night and was debating between trucks. Was happy to see this, this morning, as it made my choice easy.
While I have little interest in the upcoming states for ATS, gotta admit I'll likely buy them just as support for all the amazing free content we get.
Thank you so much SCS for bringing the new VNL, it's my favorite truck on American Truck, with this new model the desire to play again is even greater. I'm Brazilian and I love to drive on American Truck roads.

It takes me to 2018 or 2019 when I bought ATS and got a loan to buy my first personal truck. It actually was the old VNL. The truck modeling quality improved so much in the last 5 years that it makes this new VNL looking at light years from old one. I was so happy yesterday when I saw a post with a picture of the new VNL on it! I didn't expect to see SCS Software releasing it this month! Very great color choice and I'm pleased by the 25th anniversary paint scheme. Feels so real to see the hood and the hood mirrors shaking while driving and to hear that SPOT ON D13 engine recording... and what about the blind spot warning sound LOL! The truck drives very great!

I recently wasn't that active in ATS, but this looks very interesting and promising! Definitively going to do a delivery now. Thank you for keep updating both games with amazing new features and trucks SCS!

Honestly this Volvo VNL stock was wonderful to drive, no mods needed for it.
Definitely the nicest looking modern truck! I see these everywhere so it's awesome to finally be able to see it in game. All that's left is the Freightliner Century and my favorite trucks from every era would all be in the game 😍

The automatic rain sensor is not saved in ETS2, it is reset to disabled, in ATS it is saved and works. Even in ETS2, it constantly works on long turns on cars from another lane, in ATS it is better with this.

Now I’m waiting for the older version of the Freightliner Cascadia (pre-2017 facelift)
SCS, first of all great job with the continuous updates. Here are some things that I would LOVE to see be added in the near future, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
-First one that would make the game to next level simulation/ immersion is being able to get out of your truck. This would be great for a couple reasons that would add to realism. This would allow players to walk over and look for an office to make a delivery to see where they pickup/drop off cargo and deliveries such as in real life. Second reason would be to be able to get out at gas stations and buy food, this could lead on to something else like if you’re hungry and running low on energy you might need to fall asleep earlier or some other sort of side effect of not eating such as fatigue. At least for me this would make it more realistic because as of now it’s just go to certain place, pick up cargo, drive and occasionally stop for diesel or to sleep, get to destination, and hover over something and drop cargo or park it myself. Really not much and to be honest it gets kinda boring at times. There’s a truck simulator on mobile phones with the option to buy food at truck stops/ restaurants and I just wish that option was here on ATS because if mobile phone can do it I’m sure you guys a bigger game developer sure can too. This would make the game ALOT more simulating and add to things to look forward to on the drive such as buying food, eating, and then getting back on the road and then going up to an office to ask where they would like the cargo, getting back in my truck and making the delivery.
-Second addition I would love to see is multiple pickups/ deliveries on the same mission delivery. By this I mean for example if you’re picking up frozen foods you have to go to multiple pickups to fill up the reefer or depending on the orders for that mission and then after picking up from all the locations then you can make the delivery. This could also be multiple deliveries to multiple places in a town or maybe to nearby towns.
-the third thing I would like to see improve is just the AI itself, the way cars look kinda kill the feel of the game even with mods installed to make them sound and look better. Truck sounds would go with this, screeching brakes and transmission sounds could use a touch.
If in the near future at least the first two options were added I would spend a whole lot more time on this game. As of now I play but then get bored because it could be a lot more immersive with the player and being able to get out and buy food, walk over to an office and then get back to your truck it would make it more fun. Also multiple pickups/ delivery locations.
But the thing with people wanting to eat, Drink, Get out of the truck and all, Is that ATS has always been a driving simulator since day 1. We just kinda have to take it as that and nothing else.
By having to eat and such, It would be more of a survival simulator than a driving simulator, Which is most likely just never going to happen as that was never the direction ATS was supposed to go.
There is a fatigue simulation in the game, But from the looks of it, The majority of the people who drive around can't even bother with that, Let alone that they also have to stop for other things other than fuel. So i just highly doubt that SCS is going to implement stuff like that.
Multi drops would be cool though, And might be doable. But all though i'm no programmer or anything, I can imagine that would take a massive overhaul of the current job market and everything around that. If not, Possibly a whole new job market from scratch. Which would probably take a lot of time and resources.
SCS is bigger than they used to be but still registered as an Indie Developer and not anywhere near as big as others like EA or Rockstar and such.
So i don't know if they can afford to do those things right now.
Maybe some day though, Who knows.
@@The_One_Over_There you’re right it’s always been a driving simulator, my take on the first option is to have an option to do so that players can turn on/ off, so if you would like to go the extra step you can but it can also be turned off like right now there’s the option to turn on/ off fatigue simulation. I just think having those options would fit better because that’s what I would expect from a trucking simulator, just more real life simulation.

It's a driving sim, Not a life sim. Or a survival sim.
So i just highly doubt it's going to happen.
