@@leecarrington1932 Yeah, TS should lean more into the time management side of trucking. It feels like you're on a casual sunday drive sighseeing and not on work. The Hard Truck series, although more of an open world racing game series than a straight up simulator, spiced things up with strict time limits and delivery competitions with other truckers.
IIRC both ATS and ETS2 uses the same formula to calculate how long the delivery should take, which is an average of 60 kph/40 mph. Given that some states allow you to go almost twice that fast on the interstates, you'll never be in danger of being late unless you drive like a grandma in ATS, or on specific delivery routes (across the mountains between Nevada and Colorado for example). In ats defense of the mostly highways thing as an actual otr driver ( I played ats a lot before I started driving) that mostly is how it goes on the road you spend about 90 of the trip if not more on the interstate 😂
My current truck that I have over 25k miles on is a Peterbilt 389, Cat C-15 King of the Hill tune and Eaton 18 speed, full sleeper with triple drive axles. I tend to do longer drives with it because of the insanity of trying to park trailers in tight spaces with a long truck. Doable but a huge pain. Euro spec trucks are a lot shorter due to be cab over engine.
@MilanTrucker It really mostly seems to depend on personal preference; really. Lol I've been on vacation in several countries in Europe and am from the Netherlands myself, so that's why it all feels familiar. Was really surreal seeing some landmarks I've seen IRL in-game though!
As an ATS player who very rarely dabbles into ETS2 (and who used to play a fair amount of TMP on both games over the years) this is very accurate, lol. XD Awesome and hilarious video.
Well it’s kinda true you have to be the better driver in ets cuz everything’s way smaller than in ats but the fun is still the same, I love driving in narrow roads and tiny areas with less maneuverability space all over Europe it’s a perfect challenge for me:))
In the states, you can do this safely, except for a couple of states where it is prohibited. This is easily recognized by the sign where it is written that it is forbidden to turn on red. And so you can do it without any worries, but with one condition - you must miss absolutely everyone who is on the road and only then you can continue driving.
1:45 I get it's a parody, but I gotta call you out here. You rolled right through and barely slowed down, which would be a traffic offense IRL as well. But the clip where it didn't give you a violation, you had slowed down to a near stop, so the game didn't count it as an offense.
That right turn with a long load or wide load is nearly impossible. And if you want to go with an angle, watch out for that stupid AI, they'll get in your way.
i have about 500 hours in ets and 80 hours in ats and now i saw how true this si my driving style is different in ets to ats ets im agrassive everytiem and in ats only when im late wich is very rare and i enjoy ats more because the roads are bigger i live in germany and i dont want to know what pain it is for real truckers here
In ETS2 I have a modded 1200hp Longline Scania and whenever I could, I'd drive the thing flat out. In ATS I have a modded 1200hp Freightliner Cascadia extended sleeper and a modded 1200hp Kenworth W900 extended sleeper and whenever I could, I'd drive the things flat out.
Very good! Mirrors, in places, to how I play (almost). The turning right example in Europe, with those (older) style junctions I don't tend to use the filter lane but do tend to use the middle grass verge. And sometimes I might just use the trailer brake when braking. Mainly to avoid losing too much speed.
I use the retarder and engine brake a lot in some situations because it saves on air, and reduces the risk of hearing the dreaded "Low Air Pressure Warning" sound :P
@@Dutch3DMaster When I get that and I can't move I put my Scania into Neutral and give it some throttle. If I am moving (but not manouvering) normally, after keeping it in low gear for a bit, it goes away. When driving I am not overly bothered if the tractor or trailer takes damage (mainly it is on the wheels). But if the load takes damage then I might go back to the last save point. Most deliveries that doesn't happen...despite the speed I go at!
I’ve done so many heavy hauls with the lowboy triple with 9 axles. Tight spaces don’t really faze me much. All of trailers I own are 53ft, or a double or triple of some nature. I found out that the 53ft step deck gets you the highest $ per mile and it’s so easy to maneuver. 30+ hour deliveries pay heaps of money. So much so, that I own 12 trucks, 10 employees, and 8 or 9 trailers that range from 53ft to triples.
I drive nicely on both games no speeding following traffic rules and it also helps to pay attention at road signs, these stereotypes aren't that accurate for me except the traffic light
2:04 irl at least in some regions in germany there are signs with a green arrow acting as a stop sign and allowing you to pass the red light and turn right
I played both of them, and just recently using Promods. And one of the interesting + annoying thing is how some of the location of Promods's add-on companies. For example, I was surprised to see that I had to park the trailer manually (that I took from Job Markets). The thing is, that it was in the middle of the night, It was dark + Autumn mods was on, so even darker. And the location that I had to parked the trailer to finish the job was really tight, and there were a few cars parked near, and there wasn't any way to reverse the truck without crashing the cars. Basically I done it not less than 10 minutes IRL
Well thats European truckers for ya. Having to deal with all sorts of tiny ass squezes on a daily bases depending on truck you drive and locations you ship to.
I heard from my friends from America how they enjoy the atmosphere АТS What are these American roads and country music And as a European, I like it ETS2 and it’s cool that people find something of their own in the places where they live...
Ets 2: Driving normally Radio stop... Our clients want delivery cargo right at the time Start playing hurry up music Blinkers on Speed limiter off Driving on middle line Incredible fines for speeding It's all about ets 2
Playing both for long while ets 2 feels like a game more than ats, ats feels real/a good simulator, but ets feels like an arcadebracing game, I naturally drive overspeeding every time when i am playing ets 2, maybe that is beacause of the map as southern california in ats feels arcade, while other parts feel totaly real
What I enjoy more in ETS 2 vs ATS are the smaller trucks and loads and the better maneuverability of it. Even though the roads are tighter, I still find it it easier to play than ATS. I got all DLCs for ETS 2 minus Iberia that I'm waiting for a sale on... yet, over 20 hours now and I've only explored 10% of what I have... I want to get more into ATS after that, but I feel at this rate I'll never be done with ETS2, so maybe I need to share the love between the two games a little more, haha.
I like driving and not getting stuck in traffic so on both sims I turn the traffic rules off and pass on shoulders, speed, and blow through red lights (when it's safe). I knock off a couple of hours of trip time that way. After all, it's just a game.
I'm doing all those things in both games. and i even do much crazier stuff, Like going over 100 km/h or even over 160 km/h and then making a sharp 90 degree drift turn with fully loaded truck. and then speeding up again to 100 km/h, dodging traffic on the shoulders, going from lane to lane also to dodge traffic, runing red lights. And when and AI run in to me or me in to him, i'm just keep going like if that was just a fly hitting my windshield.
To be fair I've always been better at driving in ATS. I've been playing both games since they came out (ETS2 Ivedo days lmao) and ATS is just more enjoyable for me. It's peaceful , quiet , relaxing and the trucks sound grear , KW 900W the most. I only wish I had time to play it more often.
What you've shown is that you're better at ATS then ETS 2. 1: Traffic Jams. That's AI, set to traffic level 5. Clearly you haven't been on CD Road where players CAUSE THE TRAFFIC JAMS. 2: Right on Red is legal in ATS. You made no attempt to run it on ETS 2. Course i have Traffic Offenses off. 3: Simple Turns? All you did was take the longest cargo possible. For ETS 2, you didn't even use Tramali. 4: Brakes. I have my braking power set to max, which is super easy. You're just slowing down for corners. 5: Speed is the problem? You're going the speed limit. 110 is no problem.
One thing I like about ATS is that the traffic rules are similar to what we have in my country, unlike ETS2 where you have to wait for a right turn, turn on headlights while the sun is still up, or drive on the left lane in UK
What I have learned based off this video: According to stereotypes ATS seems to be for the people actually wanting to play the game like a truck sim, no speeding and realistic driving. ETS2 seems to be more for those that want to play a truck sim more as a racing game, this is only further proved y ETS2 online
Another thing I think most ATS players do that ETS2 players don't is keep to the middle/left lane in cities to allow other traffic to turn right on red lights.
@@Alvari1 This indeed. I have yet to come across a junction in my country (The Netherlands) that allows for a right turn on a red... I will say the road layout design that ETS2 uses for The Netherlands is in absolutely no way realistic, especially when it comes to high way onramps and exits...I get that some parts of this are due to the scale, but the "give way" thing on onramps and merging lanes is just mad....
I play both games. disabled fatigue and penalties. I drive without rules with a lot of speeding, on the side of the road and oncoming traffic. if a car gets in the way, especially at a traffic light, then I can push it at low speed. after all, the engine power allows🤣🤣
1:46 you need to come to a full stop before proceeding into the junction. You made a "rolling stop" both times, so you got randomly fined once, just like running a red light in ETS2. Now, in real life, cops will usually not fine you, certainly not when you drive an 18-wheeler and the junction was clear, but, technically, they could and you know the game is zero tolerance when it comes to fines. 6:08 don't go completely into the turn lane and take a wider swing... extra points if you can knock over the white on blue arrow in the centre with the trailer's headboard. (Yes, I'm such a child* 😁). I think in most cases the ETS player is the same person as the ATS player, so, unless we all have split personalities, I think it's futile to look for differences or stereotypes. (*): That said, in real life, I think I'd be sorely tempted to "tweak" inconveniently placed road furniture, just to make a point.
I'm really scared of traffic events on ETS2, because it does never get resolved. I wouldn't mind waiting for 5-10min and watching about the situation going clear, but no matter how long you wait the situation stays same and NPC's doesn't do anything. SCS really should add some new animations on traffic events, so the situations would get resolved and you wouldn't have to load the Auto-Save everytime there is something happening on road. _- Idk if there is some mod for that, but I would download it right away if there is one._
As an Australian I'm not happy guess there's not enough of us to bother making a right hand drive and with road rules I actually understand very saddening
Hahahahha!!! Fell asleep dring ETS once and smashing into a guard rail. Messed up my truck real good and real expensive to fix. Havent fallen asleep in ATS yet, at least not bad enough to crash. Those 25-30 hour trips are killers.
I played both extensively, I love American trucks more than European cab overs but man the scenery in Europe is much more better specially with map mods. The US just seemed a bit more open plain and boring, well for me at least
The US western half is pretty boring. Yeah there's a few states out there with mountains like Colorado but unless you are delivering there its just as easy to go around it. The eastern states have a lot more variety. If you want to get from the east coast to anywhere else you pretty much have to go over a couple mountains. They sadly haven't gotten to it yet.
Playing both atm, i find ats has much more interesting parking challenges, more driving in beautiful city/town crnters, trucks are more stable...but ets trucks are so beautiful :p..... both games rock!!!
Anyone from Europe who begins ats, yes you can turn right on red unless otherwise posted. The only clause is you must make a complete stop and then turn. That in America is the average right on red rule, to prevent the accident the complete stop is required. And yes I've seen my fair share of irl people just full sending it lol. Now certain cities will have restrictions on this rule but I don't think scs has added those to ATS at the moment. Typically larger compact cities loke Chicago and new york would have roght on ree restrictions. Where you need to be mindful of the time of day to do so.
The secret to right turn on red in ATS, full stop, always. Even if just for a split second. Now, for speed, I drive that same trailer in ATS, but I'm using a Kenworth W900 Limited Edition, 8x6 long body (for extra torment on tight lots). I can ALMOST hit 100mph with that thing dragging a load. 99 is my current best. Still seeking the century mark.
I have both games and the difference for me is, that there´s no really tight spaces in ats (compare to what you have to deal with in ets2...) and there´s less annoying ai. Also in ets2, I use a tandem truck modpack (the bdf on steam) and a road train mod, so that i get a cabover volvo with 25m leingh itself and that hauls 6 semi trailers with dollys between them (or 3x HCT Trailer, you get what I mean). Gotta say, europe is sometimes pretty narrow for that XD
Its pretty rough for us ATS players but ETS2 players you guys are good for us its hard but there's advantages for both games but i think they are pretty equal so i love both.!
In America we are allowed to turn right on a red light in some areas after yield. Some areas your not allowed, and there usually is a sign that says not to
I only have ETS2 but I’m trying to drive as good as I can. But sometimes when I get bored on the highway I will drive in and out of gas stations with high speed😂😂 it doesn’t always end well 😅
Gotcha, preschoolers behavior like in ETS2, they treat the game like the latest NFS or racing game, vs much more mature players in ATS, the same goes in TruckersMP, a lot of very immature drivers in ETS2 ruins the fun for a lot of more mature players.
I stopped watching with the second example of ET player turing right. This is EXACTLY how it's supposed to go. Coming up to a traffic light in real life, we are always hoping for a green light. You know that our gas prices are through the roof and for us the fuel mileage on a job DOES matter. So coming up on a crossroad, full break and get all that weight rolling from a standstill, really has an impact on our bankaccount, dumb*ss! And our hauls are planned for delivery in a specific time frame and were mostly short on time! And if we miss this time frame, we're put to the side without knowing when we're next. which can result in a few hours delay. Guess what that does for our other hauls, because our days are stacked with multiple to-short-on-time deliveries.
the funny thing about this is that IRL when it comes to traffic jams its totaly different because EU trucks are required to stay in the right lane but if the trafic jam happens on a 3 lane road trucks can also go into the middle lane but if they where allready on it when they got into the traffic jam and they cant switch lanes
No, you're not REQUIRED to stay in the right lane. It's just that most highways have 100-120 Km/h speed limits, and you're not allowed to go faster than 80 or 90, depending on the country. You are allowed to overtake in the left lane, it's just that you're not allowed to hinder traffic by being too slow either - which is why you /mostly/ stay to the right. If you've ever driven on the Autobahn or other places in Europe, you've experienced the annoyance of the semi that's overtaking another by going 2 Km/h faster than the one on the right lol.

I tend to do longer drives with it because of the insanity of trying to park trailers in tight spaces with a long truck. Doable but a huge pain.
Euro spec trucks are a lot shorter due to be cab over engine.
I'm from Europe and like both of these games, but I prefer ATS.
IDK I think the unfamiliarity with the landscape adds to the appeal.
Pretty much I feel the same, but in my case im more connected with ETS2 xD
But I feel like ATS is really underrated
@MilanTrucker It really mostly seems to depend on personal preference; really. Lol
I've been on vacation in several countries in Europe and am from the Netherlands myself, so that's why it all feels familiar. Was really surreal seeing some landmarks I've seen IRL in-game though!
As an ATS player who very rarely dabbles into ETS2 (and who used to play a fair amount of TMP on both games over the years) this is very accurate, lol. XD Awesome and hilarious video.
The least accurate thing is driving a daf nobody drives a daf

@@Uncle_pepsithank God I thought I wass the only one who thought of this
Well it’s kinda true you have to be the better driver in ets cuz everything’s way smaller than in ats but the fun is still the same, I love driving in narrow roads and tiny areas with less maneuverability space all over Europe it’s a perfect challenge for me:))
As an ETS2 player i can confirm that we have no time to waste.
True 😅
As a UK driver, right turns at traffic lights (when they are red) are confusing for me. I never know if I'm allowed to turn lol
In the US you can lol. I don’t think you can in most European countries though
You stop, go forward a little and turn when traffic is open. Basically, it's just a yeild without the sign.
give-way* i mean
In the states, you can do this safely, except for a couple of states where it is prohibited. This is easily recognized by the sign where it is written that it is forbidden to turn on red. And so you can do it without any worries, but with one condition - you must miss absolutely everyone who is on the road and only then you can continue driving.
@@mlx39996 If there's no cars, you don't stop. Sooo, it's a give-way. There's a difference.
@@draugnaustaunikunhymnphoo6978 You are supposed to do a full stop then turn right. Unless rules are different in the US than Canada.
The more funny thing is that in real life it is the complete opposite...
1:45 I get it's a parody, but I gotta call you out here. You rolled right through and barely slowed down, which would be a traffic offense IRL as well. But the clip where it didn't give you a violation, you had slowed down to a near stop, so the game didn't count it as an offense.
Why does i play more like ATS PLAYER in ets 2 😅
good for u
Same
ATS players: Can't use lanes properly.
ETS players: Use lanes like a pro
Maybe in single player. In TMP ETS it's Mad Max all over the place.
Driving normal is fun and relaxing. But sometimes driving like a maniac is fun too
That right turn with a long load or wide load is nearly impossible. And if you want to go with an angle, watch out for that stupid AI, they'll get in your way.
i have about 500 hours in ets and 80 hours in ats and now i saw how true this si my driving style is different in ets to ats ets im agrassive everytiem and in ats only when im late wich is very rare and i enjoy ats more because the roads are bigger i live in germany and i dont want to know what pain it is for real truckers here
6:20 I always groan loud when I see these turns, especially with a bigger load.
Split the middle lane and go forward more before doing the turn. OP didn't make it right. He needed a 3 lane turn
1:40 you need to come to a complete stop before making a right turn at a red light
in euro truck simulator if we want to turn like in the video we have to take it very large
😆
Well thats European truckers for ya. Having to deal with all sorts of tiny ass squezes on a daily bases depending on truck you drive and locations you ship to.
I heard from my friends from America how they enjoy the atmosphere АТS What are these American roads and country music
And as a European, I like it ETS2 and it’s cool that people find something of their own in the places where they live...
It’s simple, one has patience , the other set of players don’t.
To be honest when there's traffic jam in ATS I just drive on the grass next to all the cars until they're gone lol
Ets 2:
Driving normally
Radio stop...
Our clients want delivery cargo right at the time
Start playing hurry up music
Blinkers on
Speed limiter off
Driving on middle line
Incredible fines for speeding
It's all about ets 2
Seriously, I've planned a delivery multiple times, calculating everything up front, but some just make you arrive late, whatever you do...
Who uses turn signals in games 😂 just plow through traffic, run red lights and take sharp turns 🤣😂🤣😂
I’ve never played ets2 but i play ats like its ets2. I speed run everything i do in ats. Keeps it fun. High octane so to speak
I want to get more into ATS after that, but I feel at this rate I'll never be done with ETS2, so maybe I need to share the love between the two games a little more, haha.
u just cant drive lool
I like driving and not getting stuck in traffic so on both sims I turn the traffic rules off and pass on shoulders, speed, and blow through red lights (when it's safe). I knock off a couple of hours of trip time that way. After all, it's just a game.
LOL, that simple right turn are very true in ETS2, i always stuck at that kind of turn LOL
Me too and I need also more time 😅
This is funny. I got both and played both for the first time yesterday and today. All of these is already me
What you've shown is that you're better at ATS then ETS 2.
Vote this up.
You are right. But remember he mentioned this video is a parody
@@stefanxcz Don't mean parodies aren't allowed to be accurate.
I mean the speed is problem he was using DAF and going uphill with oversized load, if it was Volvo or Scania, then good but with DAF...
One thing I like about ATS is that the traffic rules are similar to what we have in my country, unlike ETS2 where you have to wait for a right turn, turn on headlights while the sun is still up, or drive on the left lane in UK
I laughed so hard. It feels almost accurate. I am a driver in real too, and sometimes I wish i could do the funny stuff i do in game
What I have learned based off this video: According to stereotypes ATS seems to be for the people actually wanting to play the game like a truck sim, no speeding and realistic driving. ETS2 seems to be more for those that want to play a truck sim more as a racing game, this is only further proved y ETS2 online
This is just a meme video. Don't take it seriously xD
Another thing I think most ATS players do that ETS2 players don't is keep to the middle/left lane in cities to allow other traffic to turn right on red lights.
Hahaha, got 'em. That's a pretty good counter-point with how righteous ETS2 driver's are about sticking to the right lane and calling us out for not.
In general, it's illegal to turn right on a red light in Europe, if not indicated otherwise...
@@Dutch3DMasterUse Promods ;)
@@Alvari1 That's the polar opposite of the U.S., where Right Turn On Red is legal unless otherwise posted at the specific intersection.
As a person who doesn't have any of those, i can relate.
as an ets2 player, I must say, you got everything right, this almost looks like you recorded my gameplay :)
I play both games. disabled fatigue and penalties. I drive without rules with a lot of speeding, on the side of the road and oncoming traffic. if a car gets in the way, especially at a traffic light, then I can push it at low speed. after all, the engine power allows🤣🤣
I've gotten stuck here...6:48...this is a pain if I EVER saw one...
And on truckersmp? it just takes ages! XD
and this guy is 100% american
4:52 was me when i started playing TruckersMP. Screw the Fines and stuff im just gonna speed
I turn off fines because i like my money and speed 😂
@@Duusska Same here. Only problem is other players still get in the way xD
As a ETS2 player I really have to ask where did you see that cause I drive nothing like that
Its just for the meme buddy. Don't take it seriously
Try to play truckersmp you'll see
1:46 you need to come to a full stop before proceeding into the junction.
For the first one, you don't get a fine or not stopping. The fine was about him not turning as tight or as soon as the game wanted.
Who's perspective is this? I thought we all just go 283mph even though the speed limit is clearly 60mph.
In the UK we need to pull up with the traffic mate M25 blocked
I love this. So true to form. I know because I play both. Great video.
As an Australian I'm not happy guess there's not enough of us to bother making a right hand drive and with road rules I actually understand very saddening
the accuracy is spot on ngl, tho I normally do a solid 100Km/h in ets, no more no less
Bro I fell asleep a bunch of times playing ets, can't imagine how many times I'd do so driving in endless highways
Hahahahha!!! Fell asleep dring ETS once and smashing into a guard rail. Messed up my truck real good and real expensive to fix. Havent fallen asleep in ATS yet, at least not bad enough to crash. Those 25-30 hour trips are killers.
I use brutal traffic mod, when its jammed , i just made my self a cup of coffee, when i get back , its still jammed😁
🤣
The thumbnail just screams "chad enjoyer vs virgin fan"
SO TRUTH!!!!
I play ETS2 and ATS both,I'm quite of split personality between this two games lol.
😅😅
Full stopping is so annoying and sometimes it makes me want to just drive past the light but then I remember the damage.
3:40 and 4:59 Can anyone tell the route name...
I know the comment is a year old, but did you figure it out ? Scrolled down the entire comment section in hopes to find it.
In the US, law says you have to come to a full stop before a right on red
“Tight” in ats with such a trailer… luxury
As someone that plays both, this is 100% accurate
Its pretty rough for us ATS players but ETS2 players you guys are good for us its hard but there's advantages for both games but i think they are pretty equal so i love both.!
I love them both too ✌
Hey! The ETS2 traffic jam depiction is exactly as real as it gets in real life... =)
In America we are allowed to turn right on a red light in some areas after yield. Some areas your not allowed, and there usually is a sign that says not to
Done more hours on ETS2, but I drive like an ATS driver, slow and safe, lol
I only have ETS2 but I’m trying to drive as good as I can. But sometimes when I get bored on the highway I will drive in and out of gas stations with high speed😂😂 it doesn’t always end well 😅
Gotcha, preschoolers behavior like in ETS2, they treat the game like the latest NFS or racing game, vs much more mature players in ATS, the same goes in TruckersMP, a lot of very immature drivers in ETS2 ruins the fun for a lot of more mature players.
This is a parody do u know what that means?
You have the reading comprehension of a preschooler since you did not read the beginning of the video nor the video description.
im from europe so i play the ETS2..my question is..what "brake" means?? cus my truck will get to the point no matter how and when
I stopped watching with the second example of ET player turing right.
Why you mad for? 😂😂😂
the funny thing about this is that IRL when it comes to traffic jams its totaly different because EU trucks are required to stay in the right lane but if the trafic jam happens on a 3 lane road trucks can also go into the middle lane but if they where allready on it when they got into the traffic jam and they cant switch lanes
The last bit is me steering with a gamepad because I can't afford a steering wheel.
