Speaking about hooking up to a trailer, I think that a legend should use the advanced trailer coupling enabled, so the 5th wheel is physical, and you have to be even more precise when coupling to a trailer
That is very correct, also if you're a legend then you would know that at the round about with 2 lanes you have to use the inner lane because of the direction he is going and the outer lane is for vehicles taking either the first or the second exit. that's turning right or going straight.
two more things, install the mod that remove the boxes where your trailer is and needs to be unloaded, just has a square in the floor , and a real driver looks out of his window when reversing into a bay or into a trailer
I play this Game since it came out. I have soo much experience that i drive like a Legend but sometimes i also want to have fun and drive like a noob :). Nice video!
I can relate so much. Specially when I don't have much time to play but want to earn some cash and I pick a 3000km route for almost 300k€. Then I FLOOR the truck, getting to 140km/h or more if the road allows. Also, rain chance at 25%, no route detours or however they are called, realistic fuel consumption,. default hardest trailer parking... But I turnes off fines, speed limit (obviously) and the need to rest. And yes, sometimes I drive like an absolute crazy dude because I find it funny😂 Also i play with steering wheel + pedals + shifting gear., and first person all the time, except when the ocasional mishap happens, like when i hit an invisible thing and i just want to doublecheck...Also i don't use the more realistic stuff like the 5th wheel stuff (actually i'm not sure about this one, the trailer doesn't attach automatically, i have to manouver and then press a button) and realistic brakes because i haven't figured yet how they work... and sometimes, as i said, i just wanna have fun and relax.
@tompettersson3814 I feel you. Been playing almost every title I could get my parents to buy me or that I could save up for (2001 kid here, pocket-money was low lmao) since Truck Saver (2007) 😂😮
When I just turned on my computer and launched ETS2 - I'm driving like a pro and sometimes even like a legend. But as the time goes by, after a few hours of driving I'm starting to feel tired and begin to act like a noob 😂
I have been playing SCS games since 2008 and for myself I find it most fun to drive like I'm actually behind the wheel of a big lorry/truck and just do my job efficiently and without doing any damage to the tractor and the trailer.
I would say I'm a legend one, but it's easier cause I'm a truck driver IRL haha I really like the fact that you kept the right lane in that round about, pretty fun to see how almost everyone think it's a mistake but actually, this is the way you have to do it, just wanna mention that you're supposed to blink left so no one try to pass you in that round about
Is the fact that you have to keep the right lane a truck thing? At least on my driving license I was told to go on the left lane, as everyone else said
I think I fit somewhere between Pro and legend (First person always, but automatic always and no steering wheel lol), probably because I used to be a truck driver. I'm retired now and like to play occasionally for fun. I never drove outside UK so it's kinda fun driving in places I never did IRL. I've also been known to clip the curb occasionally (in game not IRL lol).
I use "Proper Automatic Gearbox" - my truck in game has automatic 6 speed gearbox and i have change R-N-D wheen needed. Plus dedicated keys for up and downshift. Still is realistic - i have no "gearbox controller"
Driving like Legends really is satisfying, it does add a lot to the simulation aspect of the game, but sometimes with friends it is very fun to drive a bit more recklessly, as this game has a good potential for multiplayer fun
1. Point your POV all the way to the left (or right if you diving right hand wheel) and you can look outside the door window. 2. Try using the hard shoulder. I never been ticket…yet. 3. Your truck can drift: go fast, parking break & steer, done…might not work with a trailer. 4. The biggest nightmare for beginner is not parking or pick up trailer…it is turning radius.
I most of the time play it realistically, but once in a while gunning down the highway at 150-160 km/h and tearing up the city at 120 km/h is really fun. Also, I like to haul rather heavy loads with the 6 speed transmission.
im the legend becuz i love to RP and simulate but i play it my second time i just got it for my birthday and steering wheel with shifter too! im so happy to simulate driving. when i will become 18 i hope i will get all easier! you dont need to like its just a message :) thanks for reading it have a nice day.
To be honest I'm a noob (regarding speed limits only) but always use my signals. And as for attaching the trailer I use only the 1st person camera. So I'm a mix of the 3. Thanks Milan.😊
So, I seem to be a mix of all. Also, you forgot the "Tries to conserve fuel because it is expensive!"-Noob (doesn't make any real difference in money), the "Tries to conserve Fuel because it is a Challenge"-Pro and the "Conserves Fuel because the Enviroment!"-Legend via the Way one drives.
About parking. 1. the one who has a personal life, and a life outside of games. 2. the one who tries, but the first couple of months of the game)) 3. health to you. Otherwise, as a noob you need to try to drive. there is simply no roleplaying
great vid. i cant see me playing this without a steering wheel. i still do some of the noob things after all these years but i do enjoy taking my time and enjoying the trip i find it very relaxing after work
i got the game 1 week ago, have maybe 30+ hours in game and i've never once used 3rd person or had to rearrange my position for attaching trailers. mirrors only while using my mouse/head to look out the window. i honestly didn't even know there was even a 3rd person camera until maybe 3 days into playing. guess i'm a natural legend.
Me: get upset if speed is under 150kmh, reach lvl 30 in 15h hehe, always max speed everywhere and one finger on quick save in case of unaviodable accident.
I drive for real and I try to immerse myself into the game as much as possible. Raising the suspension when the road is a bit too steep. Using advanced trailer connection etc. I do use retarder often but not strictly. Slowing down or not rollin out on a hill I'll use it but in-town rarely. Another thing in the industry: "everyone can learn something from someone"
Type 4: those that are a mix of all 3. This is where I fall in as I speed quite a lot since I have traffic violations off and sometimes go through red lights if I am stopped and no other cars are coming, but I generally do all the stuff shown in pro or legend. I also always stay in the cabin cam which can make some parking jobs a real pain in the ass as I sometimes can't even see where the spot is at the start.
I would not call people playing it as casual fun "noobs" Noobs are beginners who dont know any better and will improve over time whole others just enjoy casual fun! Wait..YOU HAVE SPOTS IN THE TOLL STATIONS YOU CAN KEEP DRIVING!?
The legend doesn't know how to drive properly on a roundabout, I don't think he's actually a legend. Anyway, really nice video keep up the good work!!!
Feels like a playstyle discrimination. There is nothing wrong in running red lights or driving at 150km/h in a video game. I will mostly play like this no matter how skilled and experienced I become in ETS. That doesn't make me or many other players with such a playstyle noobs. Multiplayer is of course another topic but nobody would care if you're driving at full throttle but not ramming anyone around and following some basic road rules when doing so.
The legend's pretty realistic, except for the hillclimb part. The company I used to work for wouldn't be happy with 1800 rpm uphill - means higher fuel consuption. This way the legend would earn less money than me for the same distance.
I love how for you playing "realistic" is: using turn Signals when entering a roundabout, when that is the Single most dangerous thing that will absolutely kill people
When I play ETS2 and there is some highway, I usually like going 90km/h even if only 80km/h is allowed or some road work is there but I usually follow all other rules in the game.😄 Would call it realistic anyways, a lot of truck drivers are driving with 90km/h irl.
Legends will use 3rd person camera, AFTER placing their truck in neutral and parking brake engaged. Then they can "walk" around to asses the situation before doing a difficult maneuver. After all, legends don't want to accidentally cause damage to the property or their truck.
you are forgetting the downhill. Noob going flat as usual, pro going max allowed speed, legend going off throttle just passed the hill , using inertia to get back to speed and save fuel, using retarder if speed gets too high. 😋
I often swing between the three lol. There's days where I want it to treat it just as a game, but there's also days I want to respect the simulation part of it. Depends on my mood at the time that I play. But then again I'm just using a gamepad so...
And there is a whole range inbetween Noob and Pro and Legend. I would say I fall somewhere inbetween Noob and Pro, slightly more Noob though I think. That said, it is a game for me to relax. I don't drive car or truck irl so I use the features available to me like the onscreen mirrors/navigation and available cameras. I do follow the rules of the road though and use advance trailer hookup and parking but if the parking get's to fiddly I have no problem hitting the "finish job" key.
In some countries it is common to use the left signal when you enter the roundabout. But certainly not keeping it going like in the vid. Also .. coming from a country where this is not the case and might be misunderstood by other traffic participants.. it just feels wrong to me~
My driving instructor always said to use the left blinker when going left on roundabouts. You could even fail your driving test if you have a super strict driving examiner I am from Netherlands
I drive ingame like I also drive in real-life. Relaxed, obeying rules and never leave the cockpit view. Thanks to a wheel and head tracking I'm pretty precise with what I'm doing. But if I fail I mostly have such a brainfart that I mess up completely 😂🙈
It's good to know I'm (usually) a Pro! Funny to think back to my n00b days and clipping people all the time on roundabouts and after toll booths 🤣 The hardest part is still remembering to ignore the satnav and just use the minimap in a complex junction 😁
I wish the systems like cruise control and the automatic gears worked like in real trucks. On a real volvo FH 2022, the adaptative cruise control will optimize gearing and fuel saving on hillclimbs, because it recognizes the topography of the terrain and predicts climbs and descents. But that's a very complex system to implement in ETS2 so you gotta use manual gears.
i fall between the pros and the noobs. i floor my truck a lot especially on hill climb but didn't honk on the Ai, i aware of my surrounding and try to drive as careful as i can be, and i do at most +4 from the speed limit except on descent, and always on first person! :D
im somewhere between pro and Legend i think ^^ in try to use only the first person view 99,9% of the time. But when manouvering backwards and couple to a trailer im looking out of my side window and not only using mirrors just because you can see better and well its also normal in RL ^^ Sometimes if i get stuck somewhere and i dont know why because the view is limited then i use the 3rd person camera. But other all yes, i try to hold it realistic as posible. I will also ordering the new "Hori Force Feedback Truck Control System" later this year :D Hyped
Maybe i'm an legendary noob because you don't get speed tickets when you ride on the emergency lane. Your max speed sign will go away aswell. Everywhere going 162 km/u and never crashing
I am between pro and legend. I use a pricy steering wheel with manual transmition. I only use 1st person even when coupling the trailer. I try and respect every rule of the traffic and per total I try and get a very realistic experience.
the real legend goes 84km/h in a 80 zone (:
And only 84 km/h when its on 83 it has to be changed
fr
And there me koleka 150kmh without tachograf
That's more like a badass 😂

I'm definitely a Pro with some Legends traits. Mostly realistic, but not at the expense of relaxing/fun.
Legends will switch on advanced trailer coupling and won't reverse too slowly to attach the trailer firmly
