    • @percocetthirty
      @percocetthirty 2 года назад +11

      @@sosamosa90 the internet SPEED has little to no bearing on the lag or latency you experience in online games. Even if you have gigabit WiFi connection, it still is competing with interference by having to spam packets to your router, whereas Ethernet only sends necessary packets. You actually need only around 20-30 mbps speed to have smooth online because the SIZE of the packets being received is not at all what matters. The actual issue is ping and jitter. ping is alleviated by being physically closer to the other players, and jitter is solved by not playing on wifi. Doesnt matter if they have insanely "fast" internet, if the opponent is far away from your connection or is on wifi there will be interference. you are more likely to have a smoother match with a killer that lives in your region with slower download speeds on ethernet, versus someone in a different region on wifi with higher download speed. So in this case you really cant solve the ping issue because they are pretty far away.

    I think a pretty big tip that was missed here was "always have a plan" quite often survivors will work on a gen off in the middle of nowhere without thinking before-hand about what direction to go when the killer comes in order to be able to loop.
    A second tip which I'd consider equally as big if not bigger is "don't be afraid to become injured", quite often healthy survivors will run into dead-zones in the map when healthy in order to avoid getting hit, when it would in-fact be a much better idea to run somewhat towards the killer and take the one hit in order to get a safe section of the map. I play roughly 50/50 so I've noticed many survivors that make the massive mistake of going into a dead-zone like that both as a teammate and as a killer.

    • @DyllonKG
      @DyllonKG  3 года назад +49

      Always have a plan is the premise to the first video in this series
      Don't be afraid to be injured is a huge deal. I didn't really include it in this because I think that plays into overall survivor gameplay, not just being chased necessarily. But like, if you get hit and escape dont go self care etc etc

      There's such a thing as hugging too tightly in my opinion which I believe is a common mistake with this tip, you can hug tightly without quite literally touching every object which reduces the chances of you getting caught on objects, when I loop myself I get extremely close to the objects and borderline follow the exact geometry of the loop but I rarely actually touch the object to avoid getting stuck.

    • @ganimomu
      @ganimomu 3 года назад +3

      Your problem is one that happened to me a lot, and even since isn't so constant now for me, it happens once in a while. It comes down to practice and knowledge of every map and structure it can generate. There are some structures for example in the Crotus Prenn Asylum that generates little peaks that have collision and are almost imperceptible in a rush, I learnt what structures are almost like those just by failing at them, but most of my issue was because to me using bad the camera, having the killer mostly centered instead of having him on one side of the screen allowing me to se what's ahead of me. Also it's not like you have to hug super tightly the structure, as long as you follow a certain path that allows you to be fast af, just think it geometrically and go ahead.

      @@BioSentient If the killer is right behind you it helps you avoid getting hit since a lot of killers re-aim to match your movement often causing them to over aim and miss. But since the wraith was so far behind at this point and he stopped as soon as he ran past them, it was meant as a warning. So it can be both, either way if they're doing it you should probably take it as a warning because you generally don't run like that unless the killer is after you (At least I don't- Maybe others do who knows-)

  • @zhyv0n
    @zhyv0n 4 года назад +7

    Thank you Dyllon, another great round of tips! Camera positioning and patience while looping are two things I've been trying to figure out lately, so this helps solidify a few things in my mind. The advice about the unsafe pallets is huge too, I always feel like I'm playing them wrong regardless of the outcome, so at least now I have some kind of guideline.
    Things I still feel lost on are very specific, like where are the loops on indoor maps? For some reason my brain sees the rooms as a series of disconnected walls and I can't recognize how to use indoor structures effectively. Or things like, when do you leave an obstacle and move on to another one, outside of the obvious "killer is engaged in breaking a pallet or is stunned?" For example, you lose a killer in an obstacle through direction-faking or whatever and there's that moment where you both know you're still in there and the killer is searching for the survivor. Do you leave if you can get to another obstacle, do you stay if the structure's pallet hasn't been dropped yet? I've tried all the options and the same choices both do and don't work, so I'm never sure what the right call is and if there's some kind of guideline that can apply.
    I appreciate all the work you put into these videos, I'm sure it can't be easy boiling everything down to something explainable, but you do it so well.

    I’ve learned to roam the exterior of the map. Killers rarely come out to the exterior areas because there’s so much happening in the middle. While doing the exterior, I can pick away at generators while the killer is distracted looking around everything in the middle of the map thinking we’re all hiding there. I’ve won a few games this way… I did all the gens on the outskirts, another player did the gens in the middle, and the killer chased the other 2 players around 😂 within 5 mins we were out. But, unfortunately not every group has players who pay attention and catch on to your plan and help you.

    I love that this game strategizes and not just using skills to double back the killer, even tho you can take advantage of the killers power, there is a sort of strategy to what they’re going to do next and how to react to the things they decide to do, such as destroying a pallet, or vaulting. It’s also very cool that there are different techniques that people use to escape that lunge of the killer, which I haven’t personally mastered yet, sadly, but still a very good reason to play DBD.

  • @bardthief

    Id like to add a super simple tip that will work on a LOT of killers.
    As survivor, you want to run loops a certain direction when they involve windows because generally one direction will give you a fast vault and the other direction won't and you'll likely get hit a lot faster.
    My tip is after taking a window vault, take a second to make yourself appear to run the (wrong) way to bait the killer into running around the loop in the way you want them to in order to secure the fast vault for yourself. It basically just leads the killer in the direction that is least advantageous to them so you can switch directions and run the loop the way that is most beneficial to you. This will nearly work every time against less experienced killers and maybe even experienced ones.

    • @SovietSeething
      @SovietSeething 2 года назад

      problem with these comments is the killers make videos on the best way to run a loop also. if you run the loop how you want an he runs it how he wants, you die. stick with having 2 windows you can vault infinately

  • @bardthief

    While it may be easier said than done, I think you nailed it in this video. These things are what make an okay survivor into a really good survivor.
    The last tip I agree sounds easy but is the one thing thats hardest to get used to doing while also has the most effect on keeping you alive. You have to know where to pause and look, and how long you have to make a decision. You not only have to watch for red stains but also the ABSENCE of red stains. Most loops you can see through or around.
    Survivor played correctly you dont often have to guess what the killer is doing, you just watch and you have enough info to make a safe plan in most cases, and make it to the next loop.

  • @DragonBread
    @DragonBread 3 года назад +1

    the thing that took me an impossibly long time to learn as survivor is to have a plan for a tile. If you're on a gen, look around and know what your options are. Then when you vault that jungle gym window know where you can go next. Running off into the corn isn't a plan it's panic.

  • @lordkyruma
    @lordkyruma 3 года назад +1

    one little thing to warn on the last tip
    often some killers might do a "moonwalk" on the loop, so you don't see the red light until it's too late and the killer it's already on range for an M1, so you have to stay alert and think from where the killer could come from if that's the case (this happens on loops with high walls where you can't see the other side)

    • @DyllonKG
      @DyllonKG  3 года назад +1

      There's a whole video that needs to be made on this because a killer could moonwalk into you, fake the moonwalk etc. So it's super complicated.
      Here on the channel we start with basics. Building blocks. Don't worry about mindgames yet or you'll just mindgame yourself. Learn to pause and pay attention regularly and THENNN we can discuss what to do in those tougher cases

    • @lordkyruma
      @lordkyruma 3 года назад

      @@DyllonKG yeah that's also true, since i started playing killer recently i tried sometimes to moonwalk and there's time where i just get lost on it and lose a lot of distance to the survivor

  • @yoshi7530
    @yoshi7530 2 года назад +1

    I don't know if he mentioned this but to make the pallet fake more realistic you can flick your mouse a little bit up because when your character does the vault animation they actually lift their head a bit up so if you do that they might double back and get faked

    I believe that this is the second time watching this video, and I have only one thing to say regarding the Killer Shack. Yes, it is a fact that you have to wait to see the killers red stain before vaulting the window, but I have the terrible problem of seeing the red light, vaulting the window (from inside to outside), and the killer gets me on the outside. They double back exactly when the red stain is visible on the door

    • @DyllonKG
      @DyllonKG  3 года назад

      So, all i can say to that is just be more patient. The killer is playing this absolutely correctly. You dont really wanna vault until you see them in the actual doorway. And this would still give you ample time to vault

    The tip for playing as survivor is so true I played killer for a few days when I was new as I was irritated with being wrecked as a survivor and once I started playing killer I understood what they were doing better and I knew the different starts and stuff for the killers I used (huntress, trapper, and a little of nurse but I was trash)

  • @GoldenUnlimited

    THANK YOU BRO!!! this actually helped me! I was Jake Park in a lab and I was being chased, I was the left survivor left. I hugged the side of a barrier and then at the right time, I threw down a pallet. The killer kicked it down. And once I did that, I went into a freezer room, jumped the window, ran around the walls of it, went back into the freezer, jumped around again and I escaped. I went into a locker and hid for a bit then I found a chest with a medkit inside. I used it and then I walked around some more and I found the hatch and so I escaped. I thank you for these tips and I can't wait to see more. :)

    Another Tip that you can use:(Distance)
    There are certain times where you won't make a window or a pallet vault(for example in a unsafe pallet loop) what you can do is a Fake just like used in the video but instead of actually vaulting that window or vaulting that pallet and getting hit through it because killer pre-lunge in those situations you hug the tile and you keep running around it making the killer's lunge not hit you and giving you some time to make to a pallet or to a different window.
    Remember you need have full knowledge of the killer's speed and distance or else even if you do that you might get hit because he was too close.

    Just gonna say for the first tip with the huntress example and the teammate on hook nearby, if you’re healthy and can afford to take a hit either take the killer to another loop or drop the pallet as soon as you can and move to the next loop so a teammate can get the save. Don’t loop a killer next to a teammate that’s struggling on hook it just makes it easier for the killer to pressure more survivors at once.
