I think a pretty big tip that was missed here was "always have a plan" quite often survivors will work on a gen off in the middle of nowhere without thinking before-hand about what direction to go when the killer comes in order to be able to loop. A second tip which I'd consider equally as big if not bigger is "don't be afraid to become injured", quite often healthy survivors will run into dead-zones in the map when healthy in order to avoid getting hit, when it would in-fact be a much better idea to run somewhat towards the killer and take the one hit in order to get a safe section of the map. I play roughly 50/50 so I've noticed many survivors that make the massive mistake of going into a dead-zone like that both as a teammate and as a killer.
Always have a plan is the premise to the first video in this series Don't be afraid to be injured is a huge deal. Your problem is one that happened to me a lot, and even since isn't so constant now for me, it happens once in a while. It comes down to practice and knowledge of every map and structure it can generate. There are some structures for example in the Crotus Prenn Asylum that generates little peaks that have collision and are almost imperceptible in a rush, I learnt what structures are almost like those just by failing at them, but most of my issue was because to me using bad the camera, having the killer mostly centered instead of having him on one side of the screen allowing me to se what's ahead of me. Things I still feel lost on are very specific, like where are the loops on indoor maps? For some reason my brain sees the rooms as a series of disconnected walls and I can't recognize how to use indoor structures effectively. Or things like, when do you leave an obstacle and move on to another one, outside of the obvious "killer is engaged in breaking a pallet or is stunned?" For example, you lose a killer in an obstacle through direction-faking or whatever and there's that moment where you both know you're still in there and the killer is searching for the survivor. Do you leave if you can get to another obstacle, do you stay if the structure's pallet hasn't been dropped yet? I’ve learned to roam the exterior of the map. Killers rarely come out to the exterior areas because there’s so much happening in the middle. While doing the exterior, I can pick away at generators while the killer is distracted looking around everything in the middle of the map thinking we’re all hiding there. I’ve won a few games this way… I did all the gens on the outskirts, another player did the gens in the middle, and the killer chased the other 2 players around 😂 within 5 mins we were out. I'm a rank 3 survivor could be rank 1 but haven't been playing as much. I know how to run killers so I don't know why I'm watching this but I gotta say this is single handedly the best looping tutorial I've ever seen and it boggles my mind how short this video was compared to others out there and how little subs you have.. definitely earned my sub keep up the good work man.
Wow, I have to admit, I'm thoroughly impressed with this tutorial! I've been playing this pretty much it came out but you pointed out a lot if good tips and tricks that I didn't know about!
I love that this game strategizes and not just using skills to double back the killer, even tho you can take advantage of the killers power, there is a sort of strategy to what they’re going to do next and how to react to the things they decide to do, such as destroying a pallet, or vaulting. It’s also very cool that there are different techniques that people use to escape that lunge of the killer, which I haven’t personally mastered yet, sadly, but still a very good reason to play DBD.
Id like to add a super simple tip that will work on a LOT of killers. As survivor, you want to run loops a certain direction when they involve windows because generally one direction will give you a fast vault and the other direction won't and you'll likely get hit a lot faster. My tip is after taking a window vault, take a second to make yourself appear to run the (wrong) way to bait the killer into running around the loop in the way you want them to in order to secure the fast vault for yourself. It basically just leads the killer in the direction that is least advantageous to them so you can switch directions and run the loop the way that is most beneficial to you. This will nearly work every time against less experienced killers and maybe even experienced ones.
problem with these comments is the killers make videos on the best way to run a loop also. if you run the loop how you want an he runs it how he wants, you die. stick with having 2 windows you can vault infinately
Listen here il give u the best tip on how to win if ur not getting chased then go do a gen dont just walk move your ass a Little Wow 80 likes thats a bit overexcesive
I have also a good tip to create distance: when vaulting a window, fake running some direction and then change it. If the wall is long you'll gain a lot of distance
These videos have really helped me out, I've watched like 5 of your videos and just won a match! I was able to loop and escape the killer way easier than before!
Thanks bro! Been playing dbd since it first came out, and I take long breaks for when I get the energy to play again, so these techniques are rlly helpful for getting back on track!!

Thanks for the guide, Dyllon!! Every time I try to loop, I get caught and I question how the pro streamers were able to do it when I can't lol. Totally gonna keep this guide in mind next time I play! Your channel is a blessing to a slight-newbie like me, haha.
While it may be easier said than done, I think you nailed it in this video. These things are what make an okay survivor into a really good survivor. The last tip I agree sounds easy but is the one thing thats hardest to get used to doing while also has the most effect on keeping you alive. You have to know where to pause and look, and how long you have to make a decision. You not only have to watch for red stains but also the ABSENCE of red stains. Most loops you can see through or around. Survivor played correctly you dont often have to guess what the killer is doing, you just watch and you have enough info to make a safe plan in most cases, and make it to the next loop.
the thing that took me an impossibly long time to learn as survivor is to have a plan for a tile. If you're on a gen, look around and know what your options are. Then when you vault that jungle gym window know where you can go next. Running off into the corn isn't a plan it's panic.
one little thing to warn on the last tip often some killers might do a "moonwalk" on the loop, so you don't see the red light until it's too late and the killer it's already on range for an M1, so you have to stay alert and think from where the killer could come from if that's the case (this happens on loops with high walls where you can't see the other side)
There's a whole video that needs to be made on this because a killer could moonwalk into you, fake the moonwalk etc. So it's super complicated. Here on the channel we start with basics. Building blocks. Don't worry about mindgames yet or you'll just mindgame yourself. Learn to pause and pay attention regularly and THENNN we can discuss what to do in those tougher cases
@@DyllonKG yeah that's also true, since i started playing killer recently i tried sometimes to moonwalk and there's time where i just get lost on it and lose a lot of distance to the survivor
I don't know if he mentioned this but to make the pallet fake more realistic you can flick your mouse a little bit up because when your character does the vault animation they actually lift their head a bit up so if you do that they might double back and get faked
I believe that this is the second time watching this video, and I have only one thing to say regarding the Killer Shack. Yes, it is a fact that you have to wait to see the killers red stain before vaulting the window, but I have the terrible problem of seeing the red light, vaulting the window (from inside to outside), and the killer gets me on the outside. They double back exactly when the red stain is visible on the door
So, all i can say to that is just be more patient. The killer is playing this absolutely correctly. You dont really wanna vault until you see them in the actual doorway. And this would still give you ample time to vault
This is very helpful for me, I'll have to try it out, I'm an intermediate but I make terrible decisions in this game and I've been needing help for awhile, thank you so much, I'm going to start watching your videos
The tip for playing as survivor is so true I played killer for a few days when I was new as I was irritated with being wrecked as a survivor and once I started playing killer I understood what they were doing better and I knew the different starts and stuff for the killers I used (huntress, trapper, and a little of nurse but I was trash)
THANK YOU BRO!!! this actually helped me! I was Jake Park in a lab and I was being chased, I was the left survivor left. I hugged the side of a barrier and then at the right time, I threw down a pallet. The killer kicked it down. And once I did that, I went into a freezer room, jumped the window, ran around the walls of it, went back into the freezer, jumped around again and I escaped. I went into a locker and hid for a bit then I found a chest with a medkit inside. I used it and then I walked around some more and I found the hatch and so I escaped. I thank you for these tips and I can't wait to see more. :)
In regards to tip 1, I find it's a double edged sword as you can get stuck on protruding obstacles resulting in ether getting hit/not getting a hit depending on your role. (I lost out on a few hits because I got stuck on debris.
Another Tip that you can use:(Distance) There are certain times where you won't make a window or a pallet vault(for example in a unsafe pallet loop) what you can do is a Fake just like used in the video but instead of actually vaulting that window or vaulting that pallet and getting hit through it because killer pre-lunge in those situations you hug the tile and you keep running around it making the killer's lunge not hit you and giving you some time to make to a pallet or to a different window. Remember you need have full knowledge of the killer's speed and distance or else even if you do that you might get hit because he was too close.
thank you for this, very detailed and it has real scenarios instead of some KYF stuff. Im hoping to apply this video in-game so I don't have to be the only rank 10 who cant run the killer for more than a minute
I have learned not to hit the sprint button all the time, especially in jungle gyms. I only noticed that recently when watching other people loop. I used to run too fast and end up not seeing the killer's light in a jungle gym. So I have learned to slow down instead of panic sprint
Yeah. Just make sure you do it when you think they are going to throw it and be unpredictable around the timing and direction. Doing it too much also allows the killer to gain on you since you aren't running straight.
There is a whole part of this for sure but I don't want to put this in intermediate tips Because there is so much confidence and knowledge required in baiting hatchet throws etc I think once they got the fundamentals, then we move on to this stuff. And im very excited to make those videos!
Just gonna say for the first tip with the huntress example and the teammate on hook nearby, if you’re healthy and can afford to take a hit either take the killer to another loop or drop the pallet as soon as you can and move to the next loop so a teammate can get the save. Don’t loop a killer next to a teammate that’s struggling on hook it just makes it easier for the killer to pressure more survivors at once.
@@DyllonKG agree lol it happens way too often especially in lower ranks where teammates are overly altruistic and unhook while the killer is hot on their asses
I’m so bad at looping and don’t greed pallets cause every time I do I get stuck on something and die or I get dedicated cause I think I can make another loop, feelsbadman
All about experience, as in playtime... Your brain will eventually figure out the distance and how long it will takw for you to get smacked, just keep playing whilst using the tips in this video in mind also.
OMG this helped so much the killers can't catch as fast as they Healy do and I also borrowed time for them to do some gens and we instantly got a ez win. Ty so much!!
Can you further explain more about positioning .. so far as split second decisions, what would be some things to have in mind, what’s the go to course of action being in any spot on the map especially dead zones and moments where you dont have time to set up the way how you want to whats the best decision?
I try hugging obstacles but the main problem is that I get stuck on them, and when I try looking back at the killer for even a SECOND I run into something
Longest I’ve ran a killer was probably 1 minute and that was the killers fault, not good gameplay on my part lol. I end up getting stuck on something or they just outplay me but I’ll never give up!
These tips are really helpful and I’ve tried some of them but When I pull a pallet down sometimes I get hit through it or the pallet comes down let 3 seconds after I pressed the button.😂
yeah if that happens a lot it just means the killer was really close to you when you threw it down or you threw it late (a delayed throw) that sucked you back into the killer lol
Camping pallets against pyramid head is always a bad idea, same with windows. I always catch people trying to bait me at pallets but I can just launch my projectile and they never expect it coming
Any of these you HAVENT tried? Anything you want to learn? LET ME KNOW!
I actually need to learn to stop taking hits 😂
I didnt actively think about Safe/Unsafe Pallets before, so theres that.
I think doing most of this will help. Realistically you'll never not get hit
But this will give you a ton of extra time to carry your team
Ayyy
I haven't done 5 of these, and the other two I wasn't perfect at either. Thank you so much, very clear and detailed!
My problem with hugging objects, is i get stuck on the most random little crap.

I really have a motivation for this game rn. So getting guides to perform better and actually see ot ingame drives this motivation on :)
Hell yeah thanks for the comments!
Just dont overload too much before you actually get in game and start playing lol
Great video. I’ve been using lightweight, windows of opportunity and fixated. Seems to help so far
Helllll yeah will
My favorite combo is lithe, dance with me, and quick and quiet. I've lost so many killers using that.
Thank you so dang much my friend
Yh same
@@DyllonKG You've grown so much in 6 months! congrats man!!
The slow mo as you're explaining things in clear detail is so effective. Thanks for this vid. 👍
Wow, I have to admit, I'm thoroughly impressed with this tutorial! I've been playing this pretty much it came out but you pointed out a lot if good tips and tricks that I didn't know about!
Gosh this is a perfect video on how to loop. I’m a long Dbd player trying to teach my friends how to loop and I even learned some stuff.
Yo that is a huge compliment. Ill try to keep stuff coming my friend
Listen here il give u the best tip on how to win if ur not getting chased then go do a gen dont just walk move your ass a Little
Wow 80 likes thats a bit overexcesive
The rule is at least one/two person must be doing a gen.
Doing gens is frowned upon in the community, it's considered toxic
@@KbIPbIL0 is that actually true? How else you gonna win 😂
@@KbIPbIL0 that's just stupid how else are we win as a survivor?
@@thefluffo6705 sometimes 3 actually
I have also a good tip to create distance: when vaulting a window, fake running some direction and then change it. If the wall is long you'll gain a lot of distance
These videos have really helped me out, I've watched like 5 of your videos and just won a match! I was able to loop and escape the killer way easier than before!
Ayyy so proud!
Very very good video.
I loved the 1st tip. With the picture/visual explanation, it was easy to understand.
This helps a lot! I've gotten a lot better at survivor, but I still loose most chases
Everyone gets caught eventually. The biggest point to chases is just wasting as much of the killers time as you can
Thanks bro! Been playing dbd since it first came out, and I take long breaks for when I get the energy to play again, so these techniques are rlly helpful for getting back on track!!
this video is the best I've ever seen when it comes to chase tips or survivors
you deserve a lot more views and I hope that youtube algorithm will treat you better soon, you're amazing at what you're doing here and I'm clicking sub and notification right off the bat
keep it going, dude, you're the best
ayyy this is incredibly kind of you my friend. Thats for coming through and lifting me up today
I'm so happy with how far you have come, you were at around 400 subs when I first saw you and now you have 4k, keep up with the great content and you will have many more, good luck friend 😁🥰
Youre so sweet my friend thank youuuuu. Thank you for all of the support. I never expected to get this far 😅😅😅
Recently i started playing as a killer and its really good to improve tactics as a survivor
It definitely does!
Running off into the corn isn't a plan it's panic.
one little thing to warn on the last tip
often some killers might do a "moonwalk" on the loop, so you don't see the red light until it's too late and the killer it's already on range for an M1, so you have to stay alert and think from where the killer could come from if that's the case (this happens on loops with high walls where you can't see the other side)
Thanks! I’m rank 14 and this really helped!
I find your video's are always super helpful, I'm not at intermidiete yet but will be saving this and try to implement it as I learn more
Itll take time but im excited for you!
Amazing Guide Dyllon!!
Thank youuuu
Good stuff. The hugging wall thing is something I'm not currently doing and I'm definitely going to try.
Thanks for the tips. Great video man.
Bruh you should also have many subs because you make great informational vids
Thanks 🙏🏼 for posting this! I couldn’t get past Purple rank for the longest time I saw this video! Now I use these tips and got to red rank today!! 👍🏽
watching this as a killer main to counter these tips
I believe that this is the second time watching this video, and I have only one thing to say regarding the Killer Shack. Yes, it is a fact that you have to wait to see the killers red stain before vaulting the window, but I have the terrible problem of seeing the red light, vaulting the window (from inside to outside), and the killer gets me on the outside. They double back exactly when the red stain is visible on the door
So, all i can say to that is just be more patient. The killer is playing this absolutely correctly. You dont really wanna vault until you see them in the actual doorway. And this would still give you ample time to vault
This is the best guide i have seen, please make more survivor guides Dylon. Subscribed.
We definitely have quite a few up that I hope you enjoy
This is very helpful for me, I'll have to try it out, I'm an intermediate but I make terrible decisions in this game and I've been needing help for awhile, thank you so much, I'm going to start watching your videos
One of the best looping guides on yt thanks
at least I am early :D
Yay :D
:D
yay bubba i just bougt you
:D
Stop camping me bro
In regards to tip 1, I find it's a double edged sword as you can get stuck on protruding obstacles resulting in ether getting hit/not getting a hit depending on your role.
(I lost out on a few hits because I got stuck on debris.
thank you for helping get to rank one. you’re the best
Ayyy i hope youre enjoying!
Appreciate the vids. Just hit red rank for the first time and made the mistakes you pointed out here. Helpful video! gg wp
Good stuff!
Another Tip that you can use:(Distance)
There are certain times where you won't make a window or a pallet vault(for example in a unsafe pallet loop) what you can do is a Fake just like used in the video but instead of actually vaulting that window or vaulting that pallet and getting hit through it because killer pre-lunge in those situations you hug the tile and you keep running around it making the killer's lunge not hit you and giving you some time to make to a pallet or to a different window.
Remember you need have full knowledge of the killer's speed and distance or else even if you do that you might get hit because he was too close.
While you're not wrong, I personally consider this an advnce tactic and will cover it in a future video
@@DyllonKG Thanks and good video!
That Stun Was LEGENDARY ✅
Although I run alot of the techniques it's nice to see others using them to see if I miss something. Nice video man! Thank you
Big love my friend thank YOU
Of course! Always learning
@@DyllonKG def man all about getting better. Keep up the awesome videos!
thank you for this, very detailed and it has real scenarios instead of some KYF stuff.
Being a veteran that checked out around the legion and coming back man this game actually feels different
As mainly a sneaky little Steve Harrington that hides in the shadows, this was useful for the chases
Don’t forget to serpentine when running, especially when the killer is shooting or throwing stuff. Worked for me.
Yeah. Just make sure you do it when you think they are going to throw it and be unpredictable around the timing and direction. Doing it too much also allows the killer to gain on you since you aren't running straight.
@@MilkCalf exactly! 👍
There is a whole part of this for sure but I don't want to put this in intermediate tips
Because there is so much confidence and knowledge required in baiting hatchet throws etc
I think once they got the fundamentals, then we move on to this stuff. And im very excited to make those videos!
@@DyllonKG exactly, they’re still getting over the scare factor of the game. And who plays optimally when scared. Good stuff
Big love
Thanks Dyllon have a wonderful thanksgiving
You too Nate
Big love my friend
Been playing this game now for a week and love it. but i NEED those tips. Thanks!
worlds cutest DBD educational streamer, 10/10
Be good to place the link to the other video to the baby beginners guide. Thanks for your great tips!
Just gonna say for the first tip with the huntress example and the teammate on hook nearby, if you’re healthy and can afford to take a hit either take the killer to another loop or drop the pallet as soon as you can and move to the next loop so a teammate can get the save. Don’t loop a killer next to a teammate that’s struggling on hook it just makes it easier for the killer to pressure more survivors at once.
yeah i am making a video on exactly how to get safe unhooks and this is a big one
Learning that distance is tough to do but you'll get there!
All about experience, as in playtime... Your brain will eventually figure out the distance and how long it will takw for you to get smacked, just keep playing whilst using the tips in this video in mind also.
Seriously I got better at dbd after this especially making plans before running from a killer thanks :)
Yo why do you only have so few subs? Your vids are awesome!
Thanks so much chris!
I try hugging obstacles but the main problem is that I get stuck on them, and when I try looking back at the killer for even a SECOND I run into something
Just takes more practice is all
Extremely well explained!
this is a good guide, very clear examples and footage. Thank you for making this video!
These are great tips Dyllon!! Love your voice also!!🤩✌❤
Thank you!!!
If you are getting chased, DONT RUN TOWARD SOMEONE ON A HOOK.
Thanks a lot dyllon. This really helps a lot. You have earnt a sub.
I have been practicing in chases doing well thank you very much
I just got into a game I looped two gens your a legend bro
Watching this as a killer makes me feel like a spy
That delayed drop is awesome… if I ever learn how to pan my camera effectively I might graduate from crouch walking most of the match
you can also fake the pallet to run one extra round, pretend to drop by walking near the pallet, killers will will press the S key hard
First tip helped me can’t wait to finish the vid
Dude you explained it better than my teacher maths. Thanks so so so much!
Longest I’ve ran a killer was probably 1 minute and that was the killers fault, not good gameplay on my part lol. I end up getting stuck on something or they just outplay me but I’ll never give up!
You're probably better than you think!
Wait omg what’s ur username? We should play together
Thank you so much for the extremely useful tips DyllonKG!! ❤
Good luck in the fog!
@@DyllonKG oh that makes sense😂
Camping pallets against pyramid head is always a bad idea, same with windows. I always catch people trying to bait me at pallets but I can just launch my projectile and they never expect it coming
this is the most useful and informative video i’ve ever watched
i need a full 24h livestream talking about positioning
Awesome video Dyllon!
Thank you! Hopefully the schoolwork isn't too crazy
@@DyllonKG not too bad, I'm managing, we finish in a few weeks!
I do a lot of this a lot but I end up failing most of the time so this just help me a lot

I sadly am not! Someday though!
Currently at the best rank I've been at, and I am going to use your tips to rank up before the 13th. Thank you sir and Happy Friday.
