"Wow, she's bossy" (Dasha about Jada) 😂
Yep! LMAO!
CAREFUL, EVERYONE, CAREFUL NOW
better watch out for an incoming slap lmao
That scene where he shoots the two guys who took his briefcase is the best take down with a gun I have ever seen .
It looked so smooth , professional as hell ,that was so awesome!
He shot from the hip and then he caught the other guy in the head twice as he was falling, flawless. I sometimes wonder if an actual mugger watches a scene like that like it’s a horror movie, that’s gotta be like a nightmare for them😂
That's what happens when you are trained by a former member of the British Special Air Service!
At 18:09, the song you said you liked is “Shadow on the Sun” by “Audioslave”
RIP: Chris Cornell
This may be my favourite Tom Cruise role, when he isn't doing his usual heroic stuff! Still gets to run though 😁Though I've seen it a few times, I still get a laugh out of Max' reaction to the trash can bouncing ineffectually off the glass.
Yup.
"Wow, she's bossy." Typecasting! lol
The band playing in the "coyote" scene is Audioslave. A super group, Chris Cornell the singer from Soundgarden and then the rest of the band are basically Rage Against The Machine minus Zach De La Rocha the singer.
This movie is awesome. Great story and characters. And Tom Cruise as the villain, are you kidding me the guy fing nailed it. What a performance.
Great pick, and a happy New Year.
One of my favorite movies and very underrated. Awesome that you are checking this out!
I wish people would stop throwing words like "underrated" around for every single film. Collateral is absolutely not underrated.
@@LeviBoldock Why is that? It is underrated. Most people I talk to have never even heard of this movie, but when they see it they like it a ton, so I think that qualifies.
I agree.
@@svtcontourYup. I agree.
The director was editing the movie and his son was playing that song, the from the coyote/wolf scene, from his computer, and he liked it so much he put it in the movie. 😊 the dvd commentary on movies really puts it into perspective 😮 also the coyote crossing your path is supposed to be a bad omen of terrible things to come, same as a black cat crossing which is even made creepier when you find out it happened by accident and they kept it in the movie
18:20 - That song is called Shadow On The Sun by Audioslave.
This is one of Cruise's best roles. He made a great villain. I was kinda sad that he died at the end too.
That wasn't a wolf, LOL. That was a coyote - known assassin of cats and small dogs. They can actually be quite vicious.
Yeah, and they will be here long after wolves are extinct
The coyote footage just happened by accident and they decided to use it.
@@charles7836apex predator for killing a child? lol wtf wrong with you.
It's a scavenger, barely larger than a fox, who unlike fox, is aggressive when it's family starves.
Civilized humans are the most ridiculous animals in this fkn planet
No joke and the further east you go the bigger and meaner they get
This was such a great turn for Tom Cruise. Everyone was use to seeing him play the good guy and here he is playing the bad guy. Jamie Foxx had a good year at this time. Not only did he get an Oscar nominee for best supporting actor for this role at the same time he got a best leading actor nominee for his role as Ray Charles in Ray. He won the latter. Up to this point Jamie Foxx was most known for comedic roles and doing standup. His only serious role (to MY knowledge) up to this point was in Any Given Sunday. This had him take off after this. He was in more serious roles and even did a singing bit for a while (he has a good voice) and he retired from standup to focus on his movie career.
Yup.
I have the same feeling at the end. I have had a few friends killed over the last 20 years or so and everytime when theyve died the sunset and next sunrise have been weird for me, because I always thought about how theyre not going to see another one. Had the same feeling when my baby son died. i held him that morning and descibed the sunrise to him, even though he was gone. So Vincent travelling into the rising sun makes me feel sad for him because he's not there to see it and he wont ever see a new day again.
😊😊❤
So sorry for your loss. No one should ever have to go through that. Keep on keeping on, you will meet again one day! 👍
a) Love This movie
b) Love the fact that Heat just won the patron poll - same director
c) Love Dasha's jumper - stay warm
d) Love that Dasha was visually annoyed by no one being on their way to work at 5am - oh and her disappointment with the slow to respond cops
There is this other channel, where the reactor reads IMDB trivia after the film, which I rather enjoy. I know people share these tidbits in the comment section, which creates RUclips engagement, but I'd love to see Dasha's reaction to them... perhaps Dasha could do videos where she read these comments. :o
Easy for me to say, as I am not the one who has to put in the time and work. :D
I was just about to point out your point b) myself. Collateral is great, Heat is IMO even better. Love the visual and directing style of Michael Mann in both of that movies, very "observant", "distant", "held back". But in a really good way, it feels very "real" that way.
But I agree with all your points.
@@mrtveye6682same😊
vincent's death was always melancholic for me too. maybe his character reminds me of many other good guy tom cruise characters if life had taken them down a different path. the character ends up being so different and yet so similar at the same time.
Dasha has such a lovely personality. Its impossible to have a bad day after sharing a reaction or movie with such a shining star :)
😂
One of the great films by director Michael Mann. I recommend his other movies too: Heat (1995), Miami Vice (2006), The Last of the Mohicans (1992)... among others. Great reaction!
Thanks for bringing this movie back to my attention it’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie.
It's because Tom is a Superstar actor that gets ones to watch him in movies, why you want Max to get away alive, yet want Tom to win at same time, that's what movie is for, keeps you interested for them both, the cop, her....the director is one of best! After this, deserve to watch young Tom before Top Gun, called The Right Moves, him a HS football player, trying to get scholarship to college. Good music, good acting, and Tom before a Star.
💖💋💖
"He is a bad guy, but how bad of a guy is he?" The kind that kills people, that's how bad 😂
A lot of people characterize Vincent as a sociopath. But I don’t really think he was one. He seems much more like a nihilist. In some ways, maybe only a few, he genuinely does care about other people, but not enough for it to be consequential, and certainly not enough to refrain from taking their lives. That’s why we see two sides of him. Hell, he was a notary which means in his everyday life, he had to be cordial and social, and he may actually have enjoyed it. And THAT is what makes this particular villain terrifying.
One of my favorite Tom Cruise movies. Wish he would play more bad guys, he did Vincent perfectly.
I really like this movie! Lots of action! Tom Cruise is always the good guy but in this one he was the bad guy! He played a very skilled assassin but sorta nice guy! Jamie Fox was great in this film as well! I laughed because Dasha didn't know who to cheer for because she's a tom cruise fan haha! In the end she chose Max! Great reaction Dasha!❤💛
I saw this at the Movie Theater in 2004...
I refuse to believe it's been 20 years since that night.
Vincent lost because his aim is to good. He always shoots two shots to the body then one to the head, but because of that he hit the strongest part of the door.
The actor portraying Felix is Javier Bardem, before he got really famous from No Country for Old Men and Skyfall.
Dasha, Ruffalo's character mentions when they see the photos of the cab that this had happened in another city previously and the cab driver had been found dead. Vincent would have had to kill Max to cover his tracks. So yeah, he was a bad guy!
You are so smart, you pay attention and recall the details so you knew the girl would turn up again. There are no flies on you. It's a well filmed movie, interesting angles, especially the shot of the reflection in the office window. I think this is Tom Cruise's best role, it show he has range. I'd call that salt & pepper hair color.
This was one of the better discussions! I really enjoyed hearing your point of view throughout the movie as well as -- and especially -- at the end! Great reactions and great discussion!
6:09... when I first saw this movie, during the whole crazy (guy killed and landed on cab) scene... all i could think of was 'What kind of sandwich was that?🤔... it looked good!😋...🤔 was it home made, or deli bought?'.
I think the melancholy you feel for Vincent is that the man was an absolute unit who put 100% into his chosen career, did everything "right" (in his own perspective); basically, he's everything the cab driver _wasn't_ at the start of the movie. And still, it amounted to nothing. All that work and ambition, and he still ends up bleeding out like every other useless asshole.
Audioslave : shadow on the sun is song. Great band. I died laughing at the Jada is bossy part.
Audioslave : Shadow On The Sun is the name of the song that plays at 18:15
Another great reaction(of course)I love your honesty and how you are so real. You are so full of emotions good, mad funny, and sad .and so beautiful in every way. ❤❤❤Dasha. Russian Princess
Shout out for having the same Christmas tree that Henry Hill buys in Goodfellas lol
With four witnesses killed, I always wondered how the prosecutor love interest was going to get Felix. Most of her case got killed off.
If you're going to watch Tom Cruise, then you need to start early at his big break with "Risky Business."
I assume killing the prosecutor was just to send a message. Along with Risky Business, All the Right Moves is another good early Cruise flick.
My guess, the flash drive hit list was still in the wrecked cab, & Max is a direct witness since he was handed the list by Felix. So old charges are probably dropped & new, murder charges added.
I like your taste in music. "Shadow on the Sun"(audio Slave). Also, the plain-clothed detective was played by Mark Ruffalo (aka Bruce Banner).
Tom Cruise is entertaining in Knight and Day, and Jack Reacher.
Excellent review 🎉
Dear Dasha, you're so smart. You saw the connection between the girl and Vincent from the beginning. i never did!
Girls are much more insightful than men. I never connected the guy to be killed in 'Minority Report' with Tom Cruise's kidnapped/murdered son!!@TE_LE_GRAM_dasha_Reacts13
Totally forgot Spanglish Mark Ruffalo in this 😂😂
Vincent is pretty much a sociopathic professional hitman. Who knows how he became that way but that's how I see him. No conscience whatsoever. The scary part is there are people like him in real life.
yeah, like tom cruise himself lol. too obvious to cast him as a psychopath. more interesting t see him in roles as 'normal' guy who's supposed to be likeable and charismatic, but something's 'off'
What a stupid comment😂
23:56 I laugh at this part everytime. Cop being taken down to the ground and has his own gun pointed at him but still shouts “PUT THE GUN DOWN!” Boy he has a gun in your face that he can shoot on you. Be quiet. Like why is he talking like he had an advantage?
Once again, another great reaction. 😊
Love this movie. Love your reaction too :)
27:37 an actual creepypasta. Lol
Honey, I think more than an accomplice, that would make him an accessory
Keep up the great work Dasha!
Great reaction! I get the confliction with Tom Cruise's character. He's very charismatic but a lot of the cool/niceish things he does are self-serving. It's all very manipulative and usually just serves to help him achieve his objectives. The acting is great though so it's hard not to root for his character.
One sad thing that I noticed is that Vincent is probably the closest thing to a friend that max has ever had. I especially liked the part where he stuck up for him when his dispatcher was being evil.
Also, Vincent is not a villain.
thanks for reaction
Another one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies! I'm not a huge Cruise fan, but he has 3 movies in my top 50. Last Samurai, Edge of Tomorrow, and this.
We don't care about people we don't know if they die, we care if we know them, you would cheer for the bad guy every time if every movie had the bad guy as main character
You watch an action movie and the protagonist kills the enemy soldier and makes a joke while doing it, people laugh about the joke and cheer for him because they know him while the other guy is just a stuntman with 3 seconds of screen time, no one stops thinking about the guy that just died while doing his job who probably had a family, friends, etc. and the psycho who just killed 30 people with a smile on his face while joking about their death
Hello from Stockholm 😊 i like your reaction videos❤ hope to see even more🙂🙏
Jamie foxx played
Two people named max
One in this movie
The other amazing spider man 2
This is one of my FAVORITE MOVIES!!! 💪😎💪
Tom Cruise trained with IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) to make sure his draws, and reloads were legit techniques!
The gunfire sounds incredible because they used LIVE AMMO against green screens for those scenes!
The soundtrack is FANTASTIC! Audioslave's "Shadow on the Sun" is perfect for this movie and that point specifically! (RIP Chris Cornell 💔💔😭😭😭)
The philosophical discussion is so on point and applicable to many many people ... too afraid to act, and fear failing. Its completely self-sabotage. Done is better than perfect.
LETS GOOOOO 💪😎💪
"The bullets and the fall killed him." 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I love Vincent 😁
"Yo homie!" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Love watching that!!! 👍😎👍
"MAX! ... ... I DO THIS FOR A LIVING!"
Goosebumps! Everytime!! 😂🤣😂👍😎👍
Vincent, while a villian, is also a tragic victim of his own worldview. 😢
The nihlistiic approach he believes in robs existence of its meaning and precludes there being any possibilty of joy.
All he's left with is varying degrees of suffering, without the benefit of any meaning or purpose.
Him being reduced to a dead body, riding the train, is heartbreaking. Even for a antagonist 😢💔
If you enjoyed this you should do Heat and Miami Vice. Both same director. Both endlessly cool.
You should check out “Heat” by the same director.
Awesome movie
Those were cayotes actually, not wolves. Oh, and I love the soudntrack too and love to listen to it while working on the computer!
Stunning!!
This is a great thriller! I went to see this movie!
I like movies that are set in my home city. I bet others enjoy seeing their homes in movies.
Maybe Micheal Mann's best film
Tom Cruise es un gran actor y aqui lo demuestra
Hi Dasha!😊 Only 12K more subscribers to reach 100K!!!!👏👏👏👏 I agree, the Tom Cruise hair is weird here. Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) also has a different look. I don't think Max would be held criminally responsible, as he was being held against his will under duress, and forced to break the law. Great reactions and OUTRO to this very different Tom Cruise film!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏Have a great weekend, Dasha!😊
Great movie, and you definitely should watch Michael Mann’s other movies, especially Heat and Last of the Mohicans. BTW - totally rocking that turtleneck.
This is my favourite Tom Cruise movie.
Vincent's hair is intentionally "slightly off" because the character is "off". Vincent has no redeeming features, he's a complete sociopath and we know he's going to kill Max at the end of the night. He just acts nice when he wants something, it's an automatic response of his psychopathy. Great reaction, Dasha.
12:58 Oh, the irony! 😂
Please react to "The highwaymen" (with Kevin Costner) or "The Ghost and The Darkness"
2:54 I'm sure Will Smith would agree with your statement... Well, quietly of course.
I love how Dasha never says body, its a corpse!! 😅 we don't really use the word corpse unless its in a formal setting, like in a morgue, there is a corpse lol plus, life is too short. Go Metro.
I love Hugo’s little vest he’s got on.
Privyet, how have you been these holidays? Is it different then Russia?
Look up Patty Hearse...
Please do Harley Davidson and the Marlboroman😉A hidden gem
"Two in the chest one in the head"."
That os known as the Mozambique.
🤠
For this movie feeling confused is ok
I was not confused at all. He had a hostage to take him to his targets. I thought it was pretty straight forward from the time Cruise threw they guy out the window
That's a coyote 😅 but to be fair, I probably couldn't tell the difference either. The soundtrack is amazing to this film, that one song is by a band called Audioslave. The singer Chris Cornell is sadly no longer with us
Try Interview With The Vampire. Tom Cruise is a bad guy (vampire) sort of?
19:15 Ha! You still don't know Vincent very well huh? 😂
Dasha: I love wolves best in whole world.
Us: Maybe don't watch The Bourne Legacy 😂
Prosecutor Dasha. Sounds cool! 😎
Great Reaction.
If you really like Mark Ruffalo, please watch,
"13 Going On 30"
Nice review😊
Taxi drivers know better....which is why you need to question them. ;)
Dasha, you probably already answered, but what are you saying at the start of your videos? Would you translate? I would love to know!
I am so in love with u. Your eyes, your voice, you could boss me around all day.
Dasha 🍒
When will she review the funniest musical movie of all time, the pick of destiny?
Sorry, it's All the Right Moves
Tom Cruise character is tragic. Because he has nothing. No soul, no love. He's an empty vessel to carry out the wishes of other people. You have to wonder about his back story and why he turned out that way. So in that sense I guess it is sad.
Try jerry maguire with tom
pls continue to watch the saga of fast and furious
Could Les Grossman also ne considered a bad guy?
Algorithm.
Cool reaction as Dasha, you take care and have a great weekend sweetie 🥰❤️
Her nails are always cooL 💅
