With the rad and heater core both having issues back to back, I'd pressure test the rad cap, it could be over pressurizing the system and causing premature failures
I was thinking about that. The cap is actually new though too, it was one of the things I did when I first bought the Jeep and changed out the water pump and all the hoses. I wouldn't be surprised if stuff is just breaking from the abuse though.
There is a weep hole in the muffler for moisture to drain out. I don't think the muffler is designed to be installed in line... it should be at the end of the flexible exhaust piping.
