    Great video as always bud. I get a bit swamped with all these power bank videos and most can be tedious but your narrative makes that far more interesting and entertaining.
    When your head appeared side on under the van it reminded me somewhat of a bygone era of Kenny Everett but far cleaner in its humour!!

      It’s a vango sizzle. It’s max is 800w and had 5 power setting. I think it probably powers on at max. To there is only a current draw when a pan is applied.
      So you could turn the setting down before you put a pan on. Plus 800w is only the max. The wattage output is relative to the pan size as well.

    I'm thinking of buying one to put in my top box of my Moped (would put foam under it to act as a shock absorber), this one looks too big and my Delta 2 is way too big so thought the River 2 might suffice for charging camera batteries and phone.
    Or is there a smaller LiFeP04 version you would recommend?
    If Ecoflow are reading this, sort your website out, it's a nightmare comparing different models and searching for stuff🙄😉
    They are van-life game changers, I use my Airfryer in my van, cant beat proper potato chips, I'm buying the spare battery for my Delta2 Next, once I work out what model for my C90 Norway trip.

      I think the River 2 would be a good option for that ( maybe a River 2 Max is also too big? It’s the middle size ) I take it you can change it via 12v from the C90?
      As for other small options. Apart from normal usb powerbanks. The River 2 is probably the smallest and flattest of the units out there with a inverter, ac fast changing and all the normal bits plus using lifepo4.

      I'll ask to charge it at restaurants/cafes on route as I'll mainly be wild tent camping until I need a shower, then I'll use campsites and can ask to charge it there.
      Although it will be 18-24hr sunlight I won't have room for a solar panel sadly and need to be weight conscious as it's a 20 year old moped with 6K on the clock which I'll be doubling in 2 months🤣

      No idea what Fahrenheit is. Joking
      15F is -9c. EcoFlow use Discharge Temperature: -10°C to 45°C. Charge Temperature: 0°C to 45°C. This was probably around 0° so fine.
      Additionally, the operating temperature is more to do with the battery chemistry, and since the unit was having a high discharge that produces heat as well

    • @MispronouncedAdventures

      Although in a particular point for this trip, I make sure the power stations are taken off the floor in the van overnight. as the air temperature inside the van can be 21°. The floor temperature can be -10, and below one cold nights. If you do hit a low-temperature value, the unit prevent you from using it.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Год назад +1

      That’s ok you don’t have like them, everyone has different taste, I used might a lot
      Most newer models over the last year from many of the companies. switched to Lifepo4 from NCM. NCM was slightly lighter, smaller and more energy dense than lifepo4 but it lost out on the life cycles.
      Most are around in the uk £1 per 1wh of battery. whilst Lifepo4 leisure batteries can be around £0.30-£0.50 pre 1wh of battery.
      Whilst you can build your own power station with components, like this and is far cheaper often the compact size is what can’t be achieved DIY.
      But hopefully must like normal lithium batteries the price will start to drop in coming years

      @@MispronouncedAdventures thank you for taking the time to reply to me, greatly appreciated:)
      I find that they're far more expensive for what one gets with a diy system.
      But then again, people do buy apple/iphone so I guess there's a market for a unit like this as well :p
      1280Wh lifepo4 battery 5000 NOK, 1000W pure sine inverter 3000 NOK, 60A charger 2000 NOK.
      All in, 10 000NOK and it's fully modular. Need more battery? That's only 5000 to double the size.
      I see the river 2 pro is actually 9500Nok, but it's almost 16000 if we compare Wh. 768 vs 1280
      12.37 NOK per wh vs 7.81 NOK per wh. If we double battery it's 5.86 per Wh.

    • @AndreasEUR
      @AndreasEUR Год назад

      @@MispronouncedAdventures 0.46Gbp per wh for the last number there, but of course. I didn't factor in cabling and fuses. Or dcdc/VSR charging. VSR is cheapest, it's what I use, but not gonna work in a vehicle as new as yours :)

      NOK to wh is definitely confusing my brain, DIY Is definitely cheaper. The only advantage of powerbank is they are purpose-built to be compact. But I guess it’s the same thing as normal convenience versus cost.
