Remember Gamers: the base game was one of those "Epic games launcher" free games a while back. You know, that thing you grab regardless of if you ever plan to play it or not.
It technically does but all it unlocks is some alternate costumes, and if you got the legendary edition (or whatever they called it) there was literally nothing else to spend money on.
Ive enjoyed games that last 200 hrs and enjoyed myself. But this game severely outstays its welcome. Requiring research at key points to progress, grinding friendship with friends like persona but with far less interesting stories, material grinds, etc. i had to download mods to overcome some of this. Idk how you beat it in 48 hrs. I'm at tht point and got into act 2/3 like 8 hrs ago. I just want to finish this so i can delete and move on. The mods make it tolerable. Idk if id enjoy this at all without the QOL improvements the mods introduce. Chasing venom for dozens of missions again and again is so annoying
I played pretty much to the end and cannot for the life of me recommend this game (and this is coming from a huge Marvel fan AND a board/card game enjoyer). To start with the game is centred not on the combat but on the hero interactions in the abbey and for this they've inserted the most baffling friendship system I've seen. Go painting with Iron Man, play video games with Robbie etc etc. In order to facilitate this ability to do these random tasks with the large cast the dialogue is turgid and gives very little sense of the character behind the hero. At one point I had Tony Stark as me how I'm settling in... 75% of the way into the game, Wolverine asking me how I'm doing mentally, Steve Rogers both simultaneously annoyed at me for [insert story spoiler] AND wanting to hangout and Nico. Oh Nico... The battles were... alright, sometimes quite fun. A bit easy IMO even with the difficulty jacked up apart from maybe a boss character towards the end and even then I just wasn't drawing the heal that I needed. Oh and I realised at this point (towards the end of the game) that the card draw in fights isn't random, it's predetermined based on your actions which blew all sense of fairness in my eyes. To each their own, sorry for ranting. To be frank I'm only this animated because I, like you, must've sunk 50ish hours into it thinking I was having a good time. I was playing it for the game it could have been, not the game it was.

I'll say it: Midnight Suns is my favourite marvel game after the Ultimate Alliance games.
Remember Gamers: the base game was one of those "Epic games launcher" free games a while back.

Good timing. It's at -75% right now.
-91 for me
Dude thank you for such a concise and to the point review. This was so helpful!
Yes.
This is worth it.
SO MUCH.
You forgot the 1st rule of book club...
Loved your review!
Pretty much fully agree on every point in the summary.
As an aside, this is a great game on the steam deck.
Love this game, such a fanboy experience
Quick correction: The game is on Xbox, and is discounted, but it is not on Game Pass. You must purchase the game separately to play it.
I felt that the game was worth its asking price on launch but he is right about waiting for a sale to buy it now. (It goes on sales all the time.)
100% yes
And that's coming from someone who doesn't like this Genre.
Roboman? Ironmans special twin brother?
Weird, I could have sworn this game had a premium currency.

Someone’s not a Marvel fan and liked their own comment 😂

It's free on psplus right now... but I wonder if it's worth the 50 hour play through... or if im better off playing other games
Amazing gameplay, but some of the worst writing I've ever experienced.
I think it's opposite 😅. Gameplay doesn't look interesting but the story seems ok
I think you're a little late guy
Mukluk's reviews are rarely current as he plays the games when he has the time for them and feels like it. (Or gets sponsored aka. bought.)
A Mukluk is never late, Bobby Ross, nor is he early. He reviews precisely when he means to.
@kaltaron1284 Yes I know it was a joke, but thank you
I was being very thorough. I'm the opposite of the guy who reviewed cuphead and couldn't pass the tutorial.
@@MuklukRUclips 😂 fair enough
