    Actually, things can be even more interesting 🥰
    2,5 years after my ‘last’ period I got pregnant(54) The pregnancy lasted only 5 weeks but treasured that short special time🙏 In the meantime, my friend (55) recently got period after 3 years ‘post menopause’. Checked by her doc, a completely normal period 😃
    Our bodies are unique, we do not always go along doctors textbooks 💃🏿

      I haven’t had one in 18 months either and this past week. I’ve had some strange awful pain in my uterus. It’s different than your average cramps. It’s a bit more painful. Obviously I ovulated I think I had tender breasts that discharge and then soon after that stabbing pains in my right ovary, and then these awful pains in my uterus that I have never experienced calling my doctor tomorrow morning. This is also very scary to me. I’m 46 years old and I don’t know what this pain is.

    So far this is the most helpful video. I haven't had a period in ten years but as soon as I went Keto it came back. Not bad and not often but still once in a while it'll show a little. I don't plan to see a doctor, where I live a good one is impossible to find. So I'm just researching to see what info I can find. Thanks for making this, it's the only one I've seen so far 👌💕

      I had a period when I started keto as well. I have been on keto for about a year and a half and recently went off. I've been trying to get back on track over the last two days and I don't think keto works that quickly but I have one again. I'm not overly concerned because it feels like a proper peroid; I was emotional before and felt like crying for no reason, with breast tenderness, depression, happiness, craving sugar, something I never do since keto, even the slight peroid cramps. I'm thinking a more serious condition wouldn't have these familiar symptoms.

    • @StompMom5
      @StompMom5 2 года назад +3

      @@garnellwallace5594 Agreed👌. I had couple cycles that were heavier but still within reason as far a timing and symptoms. I'm not worried at all, only annoyed lol😅. I have however, been learning that keto for women will mess with hormones because of the constant release of cortisol. I'm actually on a protein priority program with a lady who is helping people get back their metabolism from keto damage. It definitely messed me up😭😭😭.

    Thank you for this video. I hadn’t had a period in a year and a half then about a month ago, I had cramps and breast were very tender. I told my husband that I feel like I was ovulating. Of course he was like “WHAT???!!!”. Then about two weeks later, yep had a period. I went to doctor and they did an ultrasound and they said all looked good and actually was surprised. She said “I guess it was a fluke”. I don’t like these flukes. Not wanting to start over with all this crap. 🙁It’s also been nice to see that I am not alone by all the comments.

    Then I decided to quit weed and I was eating very healthy and very little. I think the big change in diet made it come back, but I don't really know.

Now getting signs of another one and was a little worried as had almost been a year so I thought I was done. But I also started a new diet and exercise routine about 6 weeks ago. Under extreme stress it went away, then when the stress went away they came back. Then intermittent spotting. I asked my sister who's near 70 when it's over - she said "I'll tell you when it stops!" Going gluten-free might have changed it. Listen, this is all new ground because women in previous generations didn't talk about it or won't talk about it or didn't live that long for other reasons.

However, it is important to get this checked out by your doctor as well just to eliminate any underlying issues such as fibroids or a prolapse which could also trigger a bleed.

    I'm 56 and restarted my periods about 8 months ago after 16 months of absence. I've been on HRT for 6 years. I started on the combined patches of 2 weeks oestrogen and 2 weeks progesterone whilst still having regular periods, then they naturally stopped. I've never stopped the HRT. I went to get checked by hospital who checked the lining of my womb and she said all looked good. I'm still having regular periods every month alongside the normal PMT symptoms beforehand. No other symptoms just heavy breasts, some hair loss. Please can you advise while I wait and wait for hospital appointment as I'm terrified I've got cancer

    Hi again, thank you for responding to my comment below. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I don’t take HRT, I’m only taking natural Progesterone cream that helps with the hot flashes I started getting. It actually made them go away. So can I continue that or no? Also since I’m having a period again after 16 months, how do I gauge where I am in menopause? Do I have to wait another 12 months to be in menopause again? I’m just confused because I was always told after 12 months with no period I was in menopause. Thank you for everything!

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  Год назад +1

      You're welcome Holly!
      Yes, it can all be very confusing! If you're finding the cream helpful then it's fine to continue for as long as it does so. There may come a point where hormones change and it may not so helpful then but just wait and see.
      Some sources do say one year without periods but, in our experience, a lot of women like yourself can go a year or more then get one of more back. This is often due to a 'last fling' by the hormones but also wise just to check with your doctor too. We now say two years just to be on the safe side.

      Hi E
      Many women go without a period for months or even a year or so and then either get a single one back again or they restart for a few months. The one-off period or spate of periods is often caused by things such as a 'last fling' by your hormones, stress, illness, strenuous exercise, dieting etc. We do, however, still advise getting this checked by the doctor which, good to hear, you are doing.

      Hi Holly, taking hormones will delay the menopause so you could still getting bleeds for as long as you are taking HRT. The 12 months is more a guidepost for women, but we generally find it can be two years because we a period often comes back between 12 and 24 months but when you are taking HRT natural menopause is delayed.

    What could be the reason of periods to first go on for a week and then after 4 days it started again? Asking for 47 years old woman.

    • @AvogelCoUk

      Hi
      Although frequent periods can be quite common on the approach to the menopause, they are not good for you and could cause anaemia; this in turn could trigger fatigue/weakness. It is important to get this checked by your doctor, they can test your iron levels and also make sure that other issues such as fibroids, polyps/cysts or a prolapse are not contributing to the bleeding.

    Hi, I have missed 4 periods and I had started to excercise, I immediately started to have spotting. After about 3 days of spotting, I started to bleed a little. Is that also a process of stopping? Also does excercise affect the cycle? Is it recommended to hard core excercise through the journey of menopause?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Sunitha, periods stopping and coming back is quite common in the approach to the menopause, and we suspect that changes in our diet or exercise regime can also be a common trigger for this. If you are worried at any stage you could go for a check up. Generally, I don’t recommend embarking on any hardcore exercise, this can become a stress to the body which could potentially exacerbate symptoms.

    😞😓. I'm post menopausal. I recently went to a doctor though because I suddenly had a heavy bleeding. Well, the ultrasound spotted a blood clot and a cyst on my ovary. I'm scared because I had one ovary removed in an emergency operation due to a cyst (in my early 30s). I'm 46 btw. Also, my grandmother died from endometrial cancer. To be honest, I'm angry and depressed. I love children and I always wanted children. However I wasn't in the position to in life. And, people really hurt me in life... (people that diserve to be in jail, in my opinion.) They caused me a life of pain. And, they caused my position to not be okay to have children. I want so bad to move on. I was believing that my day will come! Things will all change and I can leave the past behind. Infact, I believe in miracles. I get so mad when people say well I could still adopt... they don't understand the pain nor the depth of my reasons for wanting a perfect ending to my life long hardships. I'm a really good person with a big heart. Everytime I see some 20 something with a baby....I have so much resentment and anger over the injustice. I'm a fool. I was delusional I guess.... trying everyday to have hope still. Believing so much that beyond the reality was a source or God on my side. I feel so let down! I 😭 feel like a fool who just needs to keep telling myself some tarrot card like b.s. just to get out of bed and keep going. But just hearing the doctors words, that I'm "definitely post menopausal...." Was I expecting some delirious fantasy delivery? That would shock me into a high? I'm so stupid. I have to hang onto delusions just to cope. I guess when I'm sixty... maybe someone will have to tell me it's time to face reality.

    My situation “may” be even more unusual.
    Mi got my first period at about the age of 12. Then nothing, for years. In my early 30s, when given a vaginal ultrasound, the doctor told me that I just had small ovaries, but prescribed Provera and I think I had 1 period. Then, no period, for the most part, for decades. I am now 58 and, where periods are concerned, have lived much like a man. No cramps, no periods really. When other women would talk about it, it was foreign to me.
    Early April this year, had a normal period. Decent flow/7 days.
    End of May, into June a period that started normal, but then didn’t end and got really heavy. Had to buy the NFL of Maxi pads, to get through the day. While bleed was probably about 14 days.
    Go to the doctor, they do blood work. Tell me to take an iron pill. Get an abdominal and a trans vaginal ultrasound. Couldn’t image the left ovary, but except for a cyst on the right ovary, and Nabothean cysts on my cervix, the report stated nothing unusual, except for endometrium at 7mm. Could be wrong but, I think endometrial hyperplasia starts at 11mm.
    Still, my doc is SUPER EXCITED about me going for an endometrial biopsy and a subsequent hysterectomy. It’s nice that SHE’s excited.
    Like other women, in absolutely TERRIFIED! Because other than numbing of the cervix, there are no good stories about this procedure, as nothing else is given for the pain. Worst experience most women have had. Worse, if you’ve never had children, like myself.
    I know I cannot diagnose myself and I’m taking a risk delaying, while I search for drugs to handle the pain. Also don’t want to be told that I’m overreacting to the pain.

      Hi Shabnam
      It is possible that your hormones are still fluctuating as you approach the menopause but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor. They may be able to take a hormone test and that should indicate what may be happening at the moment.
      Fibroids can sometimes grow back so your doctor can also check to see if this is the case.

      Many women go without a period for months or even a year or so and then either get a single one back again or they restart for a few months. The one-off period or spate of periods is often caused by things such as a 'last fling' by your hormones, stress, illness, strenuous exercise, dieting, change of diet (especially if you improve it); however, it is best to get it checked out by your doctor as well.

      Hi Laisa
      There can be many reasons for frequent periods such as stress, excessive exercise, going on a strict diet or even taking medications. I would just keep a record of your next few periods and if they continue to be frequent then it is best to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

      Although this can happen, it is wise just to check with your doctor first. They can rule out issues such as fibroids, polyps/cysts or even a prolpase which can be a factor.

    I haven't had a period in 3 years this month. Now I have some bleeding and my uterus feels just like it did when I had regular periods. I'm kinda scared. I have an upcoming dr appt to talk about it. What kind of questions should I be asking?

      Hi Melissa
      I would ask them if they know why this has happened, if not then say that you would like it investigated further. This can happen for various reasons but some doctors just dismiss it, however, it should be checked out thoroughly just to put your mind at rest.

    My question is I’m 51 and still getting my period … my gyn told me last office visit that I was in menopause after doing a hormonal blood test and because my period had been gone for quite some time .. but now I’ve been noticing that it comes on a lot lately after intercourse I was wondering is this something that I should be concerned about … don’t wanna get too graphic but it’s not heavy when this happens just annoying and it seems to be “ Old blood “ dark in color
    I’d really like to know what u think

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  2 года назад

      Hi Jasmine
      In the menopause, the vagina walls can become thin and brittle and this can often cause bleeding after intercourse. However, there could be other issues causing this such as a prolapse so it is wise to get this checked by your doctor just to rule it out.

      Hi Carmen, sometimes changing periods can indicate that your hormones are changing slightly and in other cases it can just be a one off (diet, changes in exercise regimes, stress or medication, for example can all have an impact). As this has only happened the once, I’d recommend tracking your period over the next 3-4 months to help give us a better idea of what might be going on.

      Periods stopping at your age can be caused by a number of factors such as pregnancy, stress, severe dieting or even being ill. If you are worried it is best to see your doctor as they can find out what’s going on for you.

    I’m having some thing really strange things going on horrible uterine pains that are worse than menstrual cramps. I would be a year and a half into menopause. I’m 46 now… well I noticed this past week I had very sore breasts sore nipples and I was ovulating then comes this terrible pain that felt like it was in my uterus worse than period cramps, and I’m just wondering to myself what is happening? I’m calling my doctor first thing in the morning. I’m scared to death.

And I just wonder because I’ve been taking better care of myself lately I just wonder maybe my body is trying to give me another one? I really don’t know. I am so afraid that this pain is going to come back with a vengeance, your videos always make me feel better by the way…

      Hi Zarine
      I think it would be best if your daughter saw her doctor; they can do sex hormone tests to see if she is approaching the menopause or whether there is another reason her periods are changing. Unfortunately, at this stage, over the counter remedies are unlikely to be potent enough to bring regular periods back, sorry.

    My frustration with menopause is dealing with the time gaps mentally and emotionally. For 4 to 5 years I have been on and off with my period and going through hot flashes and all symptoms that come with it and I refuse any kind of medication for it b/c it is part of life and letting my body do it's thing naturally. My doctor told me that once you hit the 12 months of no periods I should no longer have one. Well, I have gone through 3 months, 4 months, 6 months without periods and counting the months when I hit that 12 month mark. I just hit 9 months without a period and yesterday I saw staining when I wiped after using the restroom. Thinking that it could be the cyst in my kidney I went looking for answers on the internet for information on kidneys. Today I have full blown bleeding and it's my period. All I want is for all this to end already. It really messes with my anxieties. Period symptoms always messes with my emotional state and my breast are always the one to get hit the hardest when I don't have a period cause they are constantly in a state of tenderness and then the period comes back and the breast seem to deflate and be normal. Very very weird!

      Hi Marilyn
      This is a really common scenario on the approach to the menopause; many women find that it can be really drawn out with periods coming and going, sometimes for several years! Maybe look into acupuncture, this can often help with stabilising the hormones.
