Looks a 1000% better. I like the idea of a white roof, or even a black roof. Something about two tones, they're eye catching. You will have a fun cruiser..... that's the key, having fun.
Great stuff Griff. Got it protected. Fill pits with high coat primer [which is a filler primer] later on after a skuff and spew session it'll be pit-less :-)) LOve it!
Couple coats of high build primer, skim coat and then sand would eliminate a lot of that obvious pitting. Good job showing how to do a quick and economical paint job!
That's how Chrysler dealerships did it back in the day for a budget vinyl top. You could roll Herculiner on and then paint a color on it with a roller.
I saw a 1973 Mercury Monterey 4 door on Marketplace. One of my all time favorite cars. Unfortunately it was in a house fire (Top half of the car ruined, only the metal and trim is left), the interior's gone and the engine would need lots of work, And of the of course it needs painted (Preferably its original gold color) I love that car so much I'm deeply tempted to make an offer, but the work would be monumental.
I have a 62 Corvair monza spyder that I would love to get professionally painted but it will cost about a grand more than I paid for the car. 😂 the interior is gorgeous but the outside is flaking with with primer grey patches everywhere. Thankfully no rust but I’d love to see it all one color. Planning to do something like this with it for now and this video definitely helps! Thank you!
It looks great buddy! Heck, I dropping a chevy 327 in an MGB and I painted that with about 10 cans of gloss black rustoleum It's now a 40-40. Looks great doing 40 mph at 40 feet!
Consider the surface rust that it had it really looks good Griff. Can’t wait to see the chrome trim back on it. A set of the old mustang magnum 500 wheels and white letter tires would really set that car off very nice 👍 but those wheels aren’t cheap Tho. Get on the US wheel website to look around their prices are very reasonable for aftermarket wheels.
I would have tried a flap angle grinder sander on that auto. Yes it would have taken more time but this car looked fairly clean and should have received that extra time. Needed a 40 grit to start. To each his own but it is something I would have tried. I would have stuck to the original color code. I guess what you did will at the least stop further degradation.
I think after the trim is back on BITCHIN!!!! RIDE, I liked the music 🎵🎶🎶 at the end, I wish I could get a copy of some of your music 🎵🎶 on CD, yes there's still a lot of people who love the sound Quality of CDs lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't wait for the next video have a great day Griff.
its just old sheet metal body not what makes car its memories tunes eats trips flip it or keep it one thing i learn it is what is dont make it what its not to each thier own inside cheap newer car gut it install f factory unless you got lot stuff to make it factory trim all that can be got but some times better to enjoy it
And the reason I would do it for free that's what I grew up with my mom and dad bought a brand new 1966 Galaxie 500 powder blue blue interior two-door 390 Engine with AC two-barrel car that's what I grew up with all the way up until 1973 when my mom got the Camaro for my grandmother as a present then it went to the junkyard
I wish you lived close to Oregon? I could pinstripe that car for you for free! I wish you lived closer I would do it no problem for you nothing fancy but it would be straight

Looks great ! If you want a vinyl top just use roll on bed liner ! lol. I have done a few home depot paint jobs as well with rollers and rustoleum.

Forgot to ask you: What grit did you use for final sanding before the finish paint was applied?
400 grit
@@griffparker1466 gracias
Looks good
You did good!!!
it looks great all the pitting i guess youd have to skim coat the whole car

Good job on the paint. Another look that could’ve been to just satin clear over the patina, add some 18” steel wheels and slightly lower it
Good job
better than it did at first griff
Looks good from my house I’m in Ohio though, LOL. No seriously looks good for not being a professional. Like your videos.

Good enough right.
Just put some clear on it

💯😎👍🏼
Sorry but you were just too lazy. A few hrs. of sanding & some high build primer would have made a world of difference!
Looks good
