Received the Cricut Joy from my son for my 70th birthday last week. After viewing your tutorial I was able to design all my thank you cards. Of course the first two were horrendous but once I got it together (clicking back & forth LoL) I was able to get all the cards completed. Thank you 70 times over. :)

Three yrs later comment….just started using the Joy I’ve had for maybe a year….now I want the Joy Xtra for the sticker capability. But just a comment on the cards. As a regular card maker using die cuts, stamping, stenciling, etc., I have to say the Cricut cards look a bit plain to me. But for someone who doesn’t already have all the tools and supplies to make the more sophisticated and time-consuming cards, these are a good choice for something quick and easy and cute. I just ordered the card mat so I can practice on some Dollar Tree card inserts. And I really like that I can have the Joy write an inside sentiment. That’s really great! Thanks!

Hello Ms. Bethany...I can across your channel today. I received my Cricut Joy for Christmas 2020 and used it for the first time for a Birthday card for my DIL. I have had a Cricut since they first came out with the Personnel Cutter, way back when. Then I upgraded to the Air 2, but my brain is challenged when it comes to technical things, so the Joy was the way to go for me!! I knew it could do all the things that all other machines could do only smaller, quieter and less brain fog...I look forward to learning fun and new exciting things for kids to make. Oh, so wish I had seen this tutorial before doing my first card! But, am so glad to see it now. You are the very BEST teacher ever and I mean that sincerely. Whatever kids you taught were very much blessed by having you with your kindness and how clearly you describe and the demonstrate everything. I did my first card on the outside first and it was a very intricate cut. Just as you said, it almost got demolished trying to get it out of the card mat, but finally got it out with no tears! YAY! I have only had it less then a week & trying to figure out how to do things without a manual is proving to be VERY hard. I am REALLY good at making cards because that is the ONLY thing that I was able to figure out alone. So thank you so much for teaching me how to use it to also write inside of them. I have Parkinson’s which often makes it impossible to write legibly and is one of the reasons I purchased the Cricut Joy. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with us all. Just a tip for seeing your exact card size in the preview, you can choose the Material Size from the menu on the left. Then you can actually see how the text will look on your size card! Great tutorial!

Bethadilly, I love your tutorials. I have had my cricut joy for a week. I formerly made cards in Cricut Explore. I like to put my signature block on the back of the card. Will you please tell me how to position the card on the cricut to print on the back of it? Also, I like to pen a saying or picture on the inside of the inside of the insert card. Thanks so much this was amazing. I created the project and made a few cards then saved the project but when I go back into make another I can not edit my text can you please advise how to do this. I honestly thought it would be as easy as clicking on the text area but it will not let me do anything.
Thank you for this video - it really helped me figure out how to write inside since I am new to the Cricut Joy world. You mentioned towards the end that we need to allocate spaces on the sides and top and bottom. I am very new to this and have no idea if I am right or wrong, but I did notice that you resized the square template to 4.25x5.5 to match the size of the card, however, when you were in the prep stage, you continued to make the card and left the material size on 4.5 x 6.25 (8:30 mark) and didn't change it to the right size. I am just guessing that may have been why it was slightly off center.

I was wondering if you could take out the corner slots that hold the card in the back? So that you can just glue the backing on instead. I don't have my joy yet. I'm hoping it will be delivered tomorrow. I'm looking forward to using it. I bought a case for it to have its own little home. I have a thing of everything having their own cases. Also I really like the paper you have. I noticed it must be one of your favorites. May I ask where you bought it? It's such a happy, feel-good print. Hello Bethany. I truly enjoy your channe! I was so excited about creating my messages inside my cards and I'm doing a wonderful job at it thanks to you. I've advanced to adding a border around my messages/greetings. But I noticed the colorful boarder loses all its colors after I attach everything. This is truly disappointing because it loses the pretty look I'm trying to create. Is there anything I can do to keep the colorful boarders from turning black? The border I was trying to use had 7 different colorful circles. Thank you!😊
Hi Bethany, Love your videos. I have made about 30 cards on my Joy and if you turn the card mat over and carefully peel the card front from the mat it works the best for me. I haven’t ripped one yet and I have done some pretty intricate cuts. Keep up the great videos!
