My goodness!!! I LOVE HOW PERFECTIONIST you are!!!!!! MY OCD loves it! you just made my day with this video I am new at this Cricut world and this video is amazing , thank you! ♥
Just made my very first card (Cut and draw) AND writing on the inside with the help of your video❤ I'm an absolute Cricut beginner (cricut joy xtra) but your explanation is so precise - I got it right the first time - so satisfying😊 thank you so much
Thanks for your detailed video. I have had the card mat for some time now and have not used it because i was scared it would be complicated. Now I am confident i can make cards and can’t wait. 😃
Thank you for explaining this I have watched so many other videos and so far yours was the only one that really made sense and walked me through it so THANK YOU
Great video and thanks for sharing. Relatively new to Cricut and it is definitely a 'learning experience. You taught this very well and easy to understand. thanks again
I loved learning how to use the cricut card mat. I would have liked to see how you remove the letters from the card mat. Didn't realize you slide the card in, but now I see how easy it was to create the card. Thank you for sharing this information with the community of crafter. Look forward to seeing more.
This was very helpful. I am an amateur photographer wanting to use my pre-made photo insert cards and print inspirational sayings inside the cards - this looks like to best way to do it. They are 5 x 7 standard but do come in 5 x 5 square too. Do you think it is possible to use pre-made cards with your lesson?
Great tutorial. I have a cricut joy xtra, how do I size down when it says a specific size? Say, the card I like says R40, How can I get it to size S20?
First, your video was one of the best I have watched and made me excited to give cards a try. I wonder though how do you know what size insert card will fit in a card. I did the R40 birthday cake card, but the insert cuts were much more centered and there is no way the R40 inserts would fit. How would I know this ahead of time, and how would I then make an insert card that would fit?
My best recommendation is to open another card and see the sizing that they used. I am not sure that there is an easy way other than laying it out on the card itself when you have it the right size.
Can you use any cardstock to make a card and im confuse about sizes im new at this it is very helpful thankyou just needs to go over sizes im not sure on do I cut them th the size
The sizes are what Cricut has named them. The R stands for rectangle and the S for square and they are different sizes that correspond with the card mat :)
Why is it that the text box doesn't always respond to clicking straight away. What I mean is that if you want to edit it, like change the font, move it on the canvas etc I have to click the text box multiple times before the little squares come up in the corners to allow it to be moved or edited.
I get very confused on what sizes the cards are ! Like R10, R20, R30, R40!! Do you know where I can find this information because it doesn’t say the actual size of the card in Design Space, thank you so much!! I’m a newbie!😊
I found this on the web. Maybe it will help. Cricut Card Sizes R10 3.5 x 4.9 inches (all machines) R20 4.25 x5.5 inches (all machines) R30 4.5 x 6.25 inches (all machines) R40 4.75 x 6.6 inches (Maker/Explore machines only) S40 4.75 x 4.75 inches (Maker/Explore machines only)
@3:41 so even the blocky fonts can be written or will the pen still only draw the cut line. I have used some I thought would be fine and it drew the cut line or outside of the letters.
Block fonts will outline. In order to not the get outline you need a font that is a single line font or a writing font. With the other fonts the pen follows the same path the blade would follow.
Thank you so much for this video! Total game changer with someone showing step by step how to get the cricut to write. Keep up the amazing videos

I made the Cupcake card with My Joy but bottom was little short I did 4.25 x 5.5 Can I use size 40? On Joy?😮
I only have a joy so I would love to know this also!
I heard her say that cricket joy is R30 the largest so I would use R20 maybe
You cannot, that size is too big for the Joy :)
Yes for sure! Just make sure you have the size set right on the canvas.
Great tutorial. I have a cricut joy xtra, how do I size down when it says a specific size? Say, the card I like says R40, How can I get it to size S20?
When you go to open the card you should have the option to pick the card size you're using within Design Space.
First, your video was one of the best I have watched and made me excited to give cards a try. I wonder though how do you know what size insert card will fit in a card. I did the R40 birthday cake card, but the insert cuts were much more centered and there is no way the R40 inserts would fit. Great job. I sub subscribed 🎉
Thanks for the sub!
I bought the Cricut cutaway cards R-10, and they have an adhesive sheet inside. Is that to keep the insert in securely?
Sounds like you bought cutaway cards. You can learn how to make those here - ruclips.net/video/Isiig98xPdo/видео.htmlsi=oiR8Bk9nra4vVZm3

I'm not sure, sometimes Design Space is just temperamental!

@@katherinejones5565thank you so very much!! I appreciate it!!!❤
Katherine answered exactly how I would have :)
Also the sizes are on the actual card mat
@@katherinejones5565thank you so much!!
Hello what was the thickness and name of the insert card please kind regards Linda
This is the Cricut brand insert card.
Can i draw my own card or design and upload for the cricut to cut?
Yes you can!
Can you do this with the explore 3?
Yes you can!
Can you write on the envelope that comes with the insert cards? if so how?
Yes you can! I'll get a video up on that right away!
What about doing small cards that you open horizontally?
You can cut any type of folded card on this mat. You can change the orientation of your design if needed in Design Space :)
Can you make 4cards at once, there are 4spaces on the mat?
Yes you can!
Por favor ! Nao consegui entender o processo ,eu faco o texto e corto.o texto tenho que unir ao corte?
Essa parte nao compreendi.
Yes you need to attach the writing layer (text) to the cut layer for it to stay in place :)
Thanks!!!!@@CreativeHousewives
How come my writing is not together like urs its individual oneach square
Hey, send me an email hello@creativehousewives.com so I can get a little more information to help you :)
