Best review I've seen so far. Just an FYI: the driver's seat can be lowered by pushing down on the "slider" seat adjuster on the left side of the seat. Instead of using it to move back and forth, push DOWN on the lever and that will LOWER the seat. Also, lifting UP on the FRONT part of the lever allows just the front part of the seat to raise. It's really customizable. I love my 2023 Challenger T/A 392 Widebody manual (of course!). It has the R/T, Scat Pack, Widebody, and T/A packages along with the 392 and the package that has the Deluxe interior and HID headlights. With the T/A package, you also get the Mopar Performance FUNCTIONAL cold air hood that ducts cold air directly to an open airbox with a huge conical air filter. It also contains the much larger air box from the Hellcat and the headlight thar has an open tube that rams air into it. Therefore, the unsilenced Hellcat airbox has 3 sources of cold air: the Mopar Performance hood (functional and unsilenced); the open headlight next to the real headlight that is ducted to the airbox via a tube; and finally, a huge hole in the bottom of the airbox itself. Therefore, the 3 areas of cold, filtered air to the 392 - with the T/A package from the factory. The car is also lowered half an inch and has larger sway bars than the Widebody package includes. I have learned about these extras via YT videos on the car. So, if you buy a Challenger, make sure that you get the Widebody and T/A packages with a manual transmission. Then, you'll be happy too EVERY time that you drive it!

You should get the 3M paint protection clear film on the front and I had the rear fender flares protected. The factory puts a small piece of paint protection on the rear fender flares it’s about 2” x 4” that’s useless. I spent $160.00 to get both rear fender flares done, so you can’t even tell it’s on there but they’re protected. The rear fender flare are like magnets for stone chips. That was the best money I spent. Nothing worse than having a new car and getting stone chips after couple of thousand miles. It’s cheaper to put this on then to have them repainted and clearcoated and not matching the original paint.

There has always been something special about the manual. I am 55 and learned to drive a manual as a kid. Own a '16 Scat Pack Shaker manual and a Demon. Been giving it some thought about trading the Scat Pack for a Hellcat manual but can't seem to part with the Scat. When I think about trading it in, I just take it for a spin and say "nope, I've got to keep it". Lol. Great video.

Have had lots of great cars, including a 70 Chevelle SS 454 convertible, but this is my favorite. Was set on F8 and manual and could only locate two and was unable to order, as production has ceased. Feel very fortunate to have gotten it. Thanks for the great review. Spot on. Dodge did a great job. So sad to see the muscle car era come to an end.

I prefer my recently-acquired 2020 R/T Scat M6 Widebody! The only downsides are the lame 6th gear, which drops 700 RPMs instead of the 300-400 that it should, and the lousy placement of the throttle pedal (too close to the tranny well, and 1/2” too low for toe-heel downshifting. Beyond that, what a pleasure to drive! Dodge really hit a home run with this platform.

I bought the '19 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392 Widebody with 8-speed auto last year in Octane Red Pearl and fully optioned. I daily drive it and I think it's the most amazing car I've owned in my life (I'm pushing 60). It's a lot of fun, gets a lot of looks and compliments, and it's comfortable and roomy and a great cruiser. I'm very impressed with the improvements in the adaptive cruise system over previous years. Tbh, I get tired of idiots making uninformed negative comments about the widebody, the weight, and the platform being old. If they hate it so much then why are they watching? It doesn't really matter to me. I friggen love this car. Fortunately, there's enough people out there supporting Challenger to keep them around and I'm glad because I finally have my chance to enjoy one.

The hardest part of ordering one for me is choosing the color. I am partial to Blue to begin with and love both shades but somehow this cars lines in either Go Mango and F8 seem to speak the loudest to me. I would get one spec'd like this, and not get the red Brembos or the Sunroof which I have in another car and never really use it and it generally decreases head room. Congrats Jerry on your purchase. Hands down the Scat Pack Wide Body is the sweet spot of the Challengers, hence the reason when my local Florida dealer had the F8 Green, Shaker Wide Body, Swinger Edition, I jumped on it, all Last Call Special Editions, came in one design package, the F8 Green came with the 8-speed automatic, & if you wanted to exercise you're arm, the Challenger Sub-Lime Green was available with a 6-speed manual, but having my manual cars years ago, Trans Am's & Formula 350's @ the tender age of 65, I opted for the automatic. But with all said, I had the Hellcat, & other dual turbo brands, I'm happy as a pig in mud with this F8 Green, Challenger Scat Pack, my mod, they made 500 of the F8 Green, all automatics, 200 White Knuckle all automatics, 150 Sub-Lime Green 6-speed, 150 Sub-Lime Green, automatics. Glad I bought what I have, had my choice, luv the F8 Green just hard to keep the millage & speed down, it's a blast to drive & as for the Wide Body, 2nd to none handling!!! My only suggestion is to change your oil over to AMSOIL, it dropped my engine temp down by 15 to 20 degrees 0W/40 Signature AMSOIL, due to the makeup of this oil, far less friction, but I had to go through the break-in period before switching, & MOPAR, just endorsed the use of this brand, & living in Florida heat is in no short supply, lol. My only gripe, with the Shaker Package, is that no real engine venting, to allow heat buildup to escape when done driving, like the other mods, have top vents in the hood, heat rises, so I got into the practice of opening the hood up when home or a secure location to allow heat release.

@@BrianMakse Because the car is 70K, and the scatpack is only around 45-50K. So Monday, June 3rd 2024, is the last day (so Im told) that Stallantis is offering deals incentives. It seems after Monday, the dealers own what they have and they become used cars. The last 2 weeks Ive been shopping with several options available, but not much movement from the already "discounted" prices. Fast forward to yesterday, and they are dwindling fast, with dealers not too happy to sell you the car with your own financing. I found one (not taken delivery yet) for 51k in Octane Red. Stay tuned.

    I have a 2020 scat 392 with 6k miles I just picked up.
Took it out last night for pretty much the first drive.
I'm hearing a clunk when engaging/disengaging the clutch from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd a little sometimes going to 4th. Sounds like its somewhere in the back/rear. Almost like something's loose in the trunk (it's empty)
Then on the highway in 6th doing anything over 60 mph, when I let off the throttle or just barely on it to maintain speed I'm getting a strong vibration and noise in the shifter.
Is all that normal? Is the clunking me, my timing, coming out of the throttle to quickly when shiting?
Should it vibrate like that on the highway?

Nice review. The 392 Hemi Challengers are the sweet spot in the lineup. It has enough power to get you in trouble. On the street, it is easier to harness than a Hellcat and costs $20k less. I have to disagree with you on two things. I like the classic lines of the non widebody cars. The widebody looks like they just popped on 4x4 fender flares to me. Also, the rear seat isn't huge, but I can fit behind my drivers seat easily. There isn't much leg room, but there is enough for a 6' adult. The angle of the seat makes it pretty comfortable. I hadn't thought about it, but you are right about the driver's seat height. I wish it was an inch or two lower. Other than that, the car is perfect for me inside. I've really enjoyed my 2019 Challenger 392 T/A. It's like driving an old muscle car except it can handle decent and is really comfortable inside. Oh yeah, I got the Tremec 6-speed!
