No go lol. It's heavier than the Camaro and Mustang and feels like it but I guarantee you that if you hit it in the midrange it will pull on both the Camaro and Mustang in that 3-4k rpm range. I traded in my SS 1LE because of it. The Camaro and Mustang really aren't in the same category, they are more track focused. I would rather have this daily than the other two. If I want handling, I just jump in my C4S 911...a car that really handles.
I would rate my 2021 narrow body Scat Pack a 10 on performance in it's class, especially with the Torque Flight 8 Speed. You can run in the low 11s with a drag pack on it, like the stock 1320 does. Scats will beat the Camaro SS and GT 350 every day on the dragstrip, or street drag, I've seen it many times. No matter what you drive, there's always something faster, and slower.... Doesn't matter, Mopar owners love their cars... The 392 will always be an awesome street/dragstrip performer...

You can still use the paddles when you slide the shifter into manual mode. Sliding the shifter prevents the car from returning to automatic mode. Example: using the paddle shifters to pass a car on the highway (but dont slide the shifter)...the car will return to the proper gear automaticly after a minute or so. However, if you slide the shifter in Manual, it will stay in the gear you tell it to.

As soon as she said there was no go when pushing the pedal, i bailed.... The 6.4 is very strong down low, you have to actually push the pedal all the way down...
I own a 2020 Scat and I don’t agree with the get up and go thing. If a Scat doesn’t get up and go, the driver hasn’t set it up right and/or doesn’t know how to drive it. I have a 4.0 (0 to 60) but you can’t have traction control on (like she apparently has) or it pulls timing. Track mode/ traction control off/ and learn how to drive a car like we did back in the 60’s and 70’s. By the seat of your pants.
You can definitely feel the weight, but from the driving I've done it handles pretty good with the adaptive suspension on mine. But remember, this is a 2020 that Lauren is test driving. I believe that the 2021 had some some of those little improvements Lauren was talking about that Dodge did from year to year.
I think you missed the mark with acceleration. These cars really transform when you change to track mode. The active exhaust opens up, it revs higher and holds gears longer, all while tightening up the suspension and steering and making the gas pedal more responsive. It’s a Widebody with 305s in the rear and only 485hp, so it has enough tire to sustain a full throttle launch with track mode on. It definitely seemed like the launches were being held back or you were starting on 2nd gear.

No worries. Even though you have a cool Challenger now, selling a 2 year old car with mods may cost you money. I agree the red eye is freaking awesome! Average value for your car is bout $37k. The difference is based on your budget. I’d test drive a red eye if you can find one and decide.
You're first one I've heard say slow but loud. Tells me you are lacking in the ability to accurately evaluate this type of vehicle. Oh, the Hellcat Redeye would be more comprable to the GT 500.
She would run laps around you in any race. She doesn't just race in video games from her mom's basement and troll on youtube. She actually goes outside and races in the SVRA.
I don't know if I'd say she's unable to assess it, but I did disagree with her... as well as find her assessment there just... confusing. She said in the performance section of the video that it made noise, but didn't have "go power", but later on, she said it has both "go power" and "whoa power", and she later got good launches that she seemed to appreciate. Then, around 25:45, she says it doesn't "always" have the go power "depending on what mode you're in".... Was she saying it wasn't fast enough in regular Drive, but was fine in Sport or Track modes? If so... just use those!! I only drive mine in Sport and I assert that that is the way it is meant to be driven if not Track. So, I am confused by her performance opinions and I think it goes just fine. I test drove a Mustang GT and Challenger Scat Pack when I was looking for my car and chose the Scat Pack; I did not get the impression that the Scat Pack had less "go power" (other than the lack of traction, but I have the narrow body and that was on those terrible stock Eagle All-Season 245 tires, which I've since replaced with 265 Michelin Sport 4S's).
Man I'm not gonna lie I thought she knew what she was talking about until she when she said ””loud but slow” first but ”it's the perfect drag car” doesn't make sense. Most of us know why this doesn't make sense and Jesus you complain a lot about nothing. she goes back and forth with the performance can't take it lol no disrespect But sheesh
Can't possibly compare this to a GT500 then why not use the Hellcat or the Redeye if that's the case, I own a scatpack and it does punch when you floor it and as for the seating those are real comfortable and more room then a Mustang. Sorry but I know she had mention that she race car for over 30 years but just because you are a player does not mean you are a coach.
I have a Scat Pack Wide Body and drive it all winter in Winnipeg. I bought SotoZero snow tires and have no issues. I grew up in Northern Manitoba on RWD vehicles, so I am used to taking it easy on the snow.
Which would you pick if you had to buy one: A. 2021 Challenger Scat Pack wide body (A8) or a 2021 Camaro SS 1LE (A10)? senario 2 B. 2021 Camaro ZL1 (A10) or (2021) Challenger Hellcat
You are wrong on instant throttle response. You are the only auto reviewer to ever say the throttle is soft. I own one and when you touch the throttle it snaps you’re head back. It’s miles ahead of mustang and Camaro. I questionwhat setting you had
It is not that big of a car. No one refers the Hyundai Palisade as a "big car" and the Challenger is 2 inches narrower and only 1" longer then a Palisade. 197″ L x 78″ W x 69″ H Palisade 198″ L x 76″ W x 57-58″ H Challenger
Daily driving you'll get near ~40% more miles on a tank of gas in the scat pack. I could afford a Hellcat easy, but not going to the track, why add a blower can't really use with street driving. Her comments on "go" with a Scat Pack are absurd. It goes..
I am 5'3" and I don't have that problem with the sill. You didn't adjust the seat properly. I have seen much better reviews. This is a slam bam thank you ma'am video. I give this review a 2.
I have a 2018 Scat Pack and I agree about the get up and go isn't always there in the lower RPM range. But if you use the paddle snifters and drop it down a few gears it will fly. I am not sure but I believe the Mustang with the auto will drop it down a few gears automatically, it doesn't have better acceleration in the lower RPM range it is because it drops it down a few gears when you punch it. Enjoyed your video so I subscribed.
She’s comparing this car to a 900hp built drag car 😂. off coarse this car isn’t for the track. She’s expecting it to the the quarter mile In 7 seconds. It’s not for the drag strip. I’ve been in a 5.7 and they’re fast, I can’t imagine how much faster the 392 hemi is
It obviously has plenty of low end power but you gotta remember this chick was a race car driver.Comparatively I’m sure a full on race car feels much faster but these things boogy no doubt

Lack of GO? It's just as fast as the SS or mustang on the strip. What are you comparing it to? A Bugatti?
You’ve got to be an enthusiast because if you chose that color you’re awesome lol
Does anyone think the older srt8 challenger is worth buying in 2021?
I can't decide who's looks better the Driver or the Challenger.. Hummm! 🤔
😂
May not be a track car but I think otherwise. I have done 1.15g at High Plains Raceway.
Hard to picture a car that runs 12.8s getting only a 7 rating for power. Otherwise a pretty concise review.
Don't know what she's talking about.
Our wide body scatpack shaker goes instantly.
The only thing that slows it down is wheel spin.
I wonder if you could help me streamline my indecisiveness. I have a 2018 Challenger T/A 392 Special Edition. Not even an SRT comes loaded like this. I love it, did some modifications to the PCM and the suspension system. I have 590hp/574Ib-ft
Cont....ft. of Torque. When I saw the new Charger Hellcat Redeye, I couldn't stop about owning one. Shall I keep my souped up T/A or sell it for the four door land rocket Charger Redeye?
P.S. My notes got cut off by mistake. I hope you can relay.
No worries. Even though you have a cool Challenger now, selling a 2 year old car with mods may cost you money. I agree the red eye is freaking awesome! Average value for your car is bout $37k. The difference is based on your budget. I’d test drive a red eye if you can find one and decide.
A tune gained you 100hp?
Most of us know why this doesn't make sense and Jesus you complain a lot about nothing.
she goes back and forth with the performance can't take it lol
no disrespect But sheesh
@@34OLD i do agree
@@variadicism1047 i do agree
Can't possibly compare this to a GT500 then why not use the Hellcat or the Redeye if that's the case, I own a scatpack and it does punch when you floor it and as for the seating those are real comfortable and more room then a Mustang. Sorry but I know she had mention that she race car for over 30 years but just because you are a player does not mean you are a coach.
They should make a fastback version
Maybe just review Mustangs because that's obviously thats what you like.
Lauren I thought you were on the track where Jim Oddy, Fred Hahn and Mike Janis ran.
Thats in Leicester. 😊
You tested the car on the paved road not at track at lancaster.
Next time put it in Track mode and get the dynamics package.
That cars all ate up with engine
Can you drive this car with snow tires on in Canada winter? Thank you:)
You will definitely need top-quality snow tires for this vehicle. I have driven one in the winter and you are sliding around without snows.
@@CarCoachReports Thank you for replying! I guess I will have to consider some other cars:(
There are lots of great choices out there. Let me know if you need any help, we have reviewed just about everything
@@CarCoachReports You are so sweet! I really appreciate it 🥰
I have a Scat Pack Wide Body and drive it all winter in Winnipeg. I bought SotoZero snow tires and have no issues. I grew up in Northern Manitoba on RWD vehicles, so I am used to taking it easy on the snow.
Which would you pick if you had to buy one:
A. 2021 Challenger Scat Pack wide body (A8) or a 2021 Camaro SS 1LE (A10)?
senario 2
B. 2021 Camaro ZL1 (A10) or (2021) Challenger Hellcat
In the scenario A, I would choose the Challenger; in scenario B I would use choose the ZL1. I’ve driven and tested all 4 vehicles.
@@CarCoachReports Thanks for the feedback.
Lauren Fix? Any relation to ChrisFix?
Nope, it's not his real last name. It is mine
197″ L x 78″ W x 69″ H Palisade
198″ L x 76″ W x 57-58″ H Challenger
Scat pack and Hellcat fuel economy rates don’t seem to be that different.
Daily driving you'll get near ~40% more miles on a tank of gas in the scat pack. I could afford a Hellcat easy, but not going to the track, why add a blower can't really use with street driving. Her comments on "go" with a Scat Pack are absurd. It goes..
7 for power haha I don’t think so
Maybe a lot of noise but not a lot of go because it’s an automatic????
Yes
Are you really trying to say that manual is faster than automatic 😂and she just agreed with you 😭 did I click The wrong video
@@yjpaperboy173 with CERTAIN cars and a SKILLED driver a manual transmission car can be faster than an automatic
@@jogmas12 that’s true but you’d just have to be a bad driver
I've never heard anybody say the scat pack has a lack of go power.
Hellraisin'
That car makes her look so small lol😂🤣
Thank you and I agree, this is where the paddle shifters make sense. Thanks for subscribing.
The door sill is too high because you're short.
I think she has it in valet mode
Put it in track mode
What a disgusting review. The dealers can’t keep these in stock, they sell so well. Check other review sites, they absolutely get this car and love it. The camaro and mustang sales are huge disappointments. Test drive this beast, you will fall in love
However, the Mustang outsells the Camaro and Challenger combined. Drive a GT500 or GT350R. You will be impressed.
:40 “CHALLANGER”? Is that spelled wrong by accident, or is it because of your accent?
I've seen reviews by other people and it is hard to believe you have experience racing. Those Pirellis' suck.
There is no car as sexy...
The reason why her vehicle had a lack of power was because she was driving a challanger not a challenger.
Talking... talking and talking again... 🤕 Sometimes you just have to listen to the engine to appreciate...😉🤘
Who needs the audio, the engine sounds GREAT!
She doesn't know what she's talking about. I've had 3 of them. You can tell the traction control is taking over and backing off the throttle
*Never looked like a Toyota.*
I guess the second generation of the Challenger didn't exist then.
You couldn't give me a Mustang or Camaro.
