The altitude makes so much difference. I’m only 240ft above sea level and my 2019 sxt pulled a 5.8 0-60 for best time. Those scat packs down here do mid 4 secs all day 0-60. Great video though. I plan on upgrading to a 6.4 from the sxt.

Vented seats are worth it. I love the sound of the car it's not to tame but not ratty like a mustang. Best part of the car is looks, launch control, sound. Worst part of it would be adaptive cruise control (its so bad) I have a subaru and it's way better acc. Also like to add the Harmon kardon is really nice. The charger outsold the latter btw

I'm not a Chrysler man but I have to admit they do make some nice looking cars and trucks & Dodge has always been about power.
Even if the interior is "out dated" I think it still looks nice & clean. Some of the newer vehicle interiors with the big screens are just to busy, kinda intimidating.

keep it in Track mode, hold the traction control button for 5 seconds while stopped to disable ESC, then retry your launches. ESC can jack you up if you get any slip as it will destroy your launch. FWIW. at 1040' above sea level I can regularly get 4.0 (car measured) 0-60 by just foot braking to ~1400 and stomping it right when it gets traction traction. That's on 275 Michelin PS4S tires on a 2021 non-WB Scat Pack

4.2 at 1800 ft at -1c in 24 srt durango. Also load the converter manually to 2000 and in sport. Launch control makes it slower as does track mode. Plus the best time will be the second run, the engine gets too warm after that

  • @markevans1476

Higher RPM in launch control is not better. About 1600 is ideal. What you have to do to break 4.5 is put the suspension in street. Then put the transmission in track and then as far as the the other options you can pick either sport or track it really doesn’t matter. What the suspension in street does is help the back end squat when you hammer the throttle and let off the brake. If you do all these things and if you’re not in the Alpine altitude or 100+ degrees like here in Tucson you should consistently break 4.5. In the cooler months here I’ve got as low as 4.2 with warm tires. I just bought a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street SS tires in 315 and so I’m hoping on an ideal day I might get below 4. We shall see.

The best way to launch is.. get some drag radials 😊. The best I could do in my 19 WB scat was 4.5 (spinning). I could never go full throttle under 35-40 mph, or it would spin. After adding MT ET Street SS’s, I would get consistent 3.6-3.7 0-60 on practically any street without even airing down the tires.

Been a fan of this car since it was introduced back in 08 with the count down timer. It's an iconic car and In my opinion best design example of the throw back muscle cars. I think a little too expensive given the aging platform the interior needs some updating but over all still holds up the colors avail inside brighten it up . Id like to see a power passenger seat at 60k ! These along with the chargers hold up well durable thus police are using them severe duty and they are fast hard to outt run a srt especially and hell cat. Years from now when attending car show these will be the my dad had one of these back in the day cars always wanted one . I don't think we're gonna be saying this about many electrics if the hold up that long and don't melt down

Thank you for not forgetting those of us who still like good old fun in a V8 car. I know electric, hybrid, and other changes are inevitable but it's draining hearing nothing but electric and hybrid news all day every day in the automotive world.
I'm very fortunate that my wife actually wants a Challenger. Since it's sounding like the V8's are ending production soon we're hoping to order one next year for a fun road trip car. Just gotta make a trip to a big city to go test drive a scat pack and a regular R/T to see what she's comfortable with. I'm hoping scat pack but I don't want her getting sideways accidentally when I'm not there since she's never driven something high performance before.
