So as someone that has lifted at this location before, I can tell you that this location (which is a massive rec center) has a special gym floor that was designed with CrossFit and other activites in mind with a floor coating that helps mitigate shock from drops. For the amount of competitors that attend this meet in the area, bringing that much plywood is just not necessary when you have a perfectly fine surface to lift on.
These competition videos are great. I wish I could participate but I’m so trash at weightlifting. My best snatch is 105 lbs 🥲. But my back squat is 315.

feels like you're rushing to just blast into the hole and hope to catch instead of trusting your control and connection to the bar. i'm not nearly as good as you but the competition aspect shouldn't matter. you've done all this in training
Tbh I think you were much better when you were way lighter as in body weight you had much more mobility and everything biggest mistake is that bulked up it seems like a lot of that weight is literally fat and that’s unhealthy so my advice cut back down please
true. i mean he has been setting lifetime PRs since bulking up but the strength gains haven’t really carried over that well to the classic lifts. and as you said his mobility has suffered, he’s not receiving cleans and snatches as deep as before. he also has lost some speed which is important in the turnover.
