Shes a true 71 i think thays why shes so damm strong, most other 71s ive seen either look like they have moved up in bodyweight to comepete or starved themselves to drop to 71, your frame works best when its supporting the optimal bodyweight and for reese its 71 what a monster this girl 💪💪
I just love her squats. Although, in this particular video she squats with a belt on, one can find plenty where she does full raw squats nearing 200kg. 200kg is just phenomenal itself, but that "raw" mindset just adds to it
This channel has singlehandedly made me fascinated by this sport, and as such this is the first summer olympics I'm actually stoked about. I'm an avid curling fan so usually it's just the winter olympics that interest me.
This is a phenomenal spotlight, I'm new to watching weightlifting and had only really watched a few men's comps (I'm a guy) ... Thanks for opening me up to the other half of the sport!
I think we need to emphasize that a large part of her progress is that she's training over 10 years now, and that it's BECAUSE she does not rely on supportive gear and trains "only" 3-4 times a week that is responsible for her being so strong.
She's just a natural that doesn't come around often and the two Queens Matty and Kate have to move over and hopefully won't resent her. As a follower and lifter dating back to the 1960s world level still haven't stopped enhancements as I can see from very male faces on females.
I remember thinking it will be a while before we see talent like Rogers and Viberg, then bang, this Olivia shows up. This woman has superhuman assets. Her overall strength is beyond remarkable.

Great fundamental technique in keeping the bar close and applying the strength at the right times being smooth and fluid, she is not tight and overbearing on the movement of the bar when applying her strength. That is a big difference between Olympic lifting and Powerlifting the static tensile strength and Requires you to stay tight, does not allow you to be fast and smooth and fluid in your body movement. Funny they bring up the IPF ranking for her. I am very certain she has never squatted in a super suit or had knee wraps on so tight that you cannot bend your legs unless you have 400+ pounds on your back. She is truly a spectacular athlete wish her all the best in the world she is working hard to become an Olympic Champion & Still looks like she’s having fun!⚡️🏋️♂️✨
Her cardio must be off the charts. Her training speed of exertion is amazing. I used to lift competitively many years ago. What I see Olivia doing, set after set, I know that will gas most people out very quickly. I bet some of the best weightlifters in the world could not keep up with her training speed. I know, I know, I am not there watching, but what I see on video is elite top 5% cardio performance. Mattie and Kate could probably keep up, but not many else. That great cardio must be a carry over from CrossFit.
She so strong! But these quick jumps with little to no warm up will only last so long and can impact longevity of the sport. I’m still so excited USA has a strong gal like Olivia!
@@trtnec read a peer reviewed article and it’ll show you lack of warm ups or “quality” warmups can lead to increase risk of injury. She’s young right now but that will change with time as she continues to out her body under this type of stress. This is with every sport not just OLY.
She still looks like a woman unlike crossfit chicks .. for me it doesnt take away from their accomplishments... just helps me put things in perspective as a weak manlet @@Ladonko2009
I believe she is, Seb even mentioned some time ago she even trains rather like amateur 3-4 times a week. Just insanely talented. Good sponsorship, 6+ trainings a week with proper recovery, a little bit of juice properly applied - and she'll beat everyone in 71. IMHO
Speaking of Mattie she is undersized as a 81 could she drop down and complete in the 71 category or is Olivia to far ahead? I think Olivia is good for a total of 263 a year from now.
@@charlesbryant8665Mattie normal weight close to 76kg Class just 77,9kg on 2023 World Championship and ever competed as 71kg on 2019 .She might lose some kg if she Cut down but Ideal for 76 if that was Olympics Category
You can tell her strength translates to stability, absolutely no wobble out of the bottom with those massive lifts.
Especially in her snatch! You usually see this only from the Chinese lifters, such snappy and crisp snatches! A joy to watch!
@@lepepus Shes got one helluva snatch
and yes those Chinese lifters have a snappy snatch
Hey there Ms. Olivia ! Uncle Jeff and Grandma are so proud of you! All of those years of training have created your great success! God bless you.
Is this Olivia family Comment ?
this is so wholesome

She had squatted raw 200kg and 210kg without belt. She posted videos in her IG.
She is the real deal!! What a powerhouse. I can't wait for the Olympics, so many exciting categories to follow on both women and men's side!!

Crazy to put up those squat numbers while being that long legged. Massive respect!
And the depth too!
Great work as per usual, Seb
Thank you, one of my favourite videos to date!

She's my favorite Forklift-American lifter.
Olivia is such a phenomenal athlete and human being! Unreal! She’s built different!!!! 🔥
Wow a Team USA lifter with overhead stability 🤯🤯🤯
Incredible. Very inspirational. Go Olivia!
This woman is incredible
Awesome. I can’t wait to see what she does in the Olympics.
Number one in the world now!! Great job Olivia!
Fantastic. It's great to see an athlete so obviously love what she's doing.
I love the bar bending when she’s squatting
she honestly has the perfect build.
She makes you proud to be American ❤
Very stable lift ,she is so strong 💪, awesome technique 🏋️
Just mega, So strong. Love the constant smile.
An absolute unit of power👏
How close would Olivia Reeves need to get to Liao Guifang for China to probably not send her?
Probably 15 more kg on her total at least, that’s impossible at this level
Absolutely amazing. I'm glad to be from the same country as her!
She's a national treasure
I love that smile when she makes a big lift.
Very strong lass , but also very impressive - her flawless technique !
You saw how fast 385 went up? Woww
And she kept going after that 😂
Is there weight lifting house squat shoes?
Team Reeves. Great video, WH!
Uyyy Genial y fantástico😊te felicito!!!!
As an 18 year old girl she squatted 5 reps of over 400lbs ....?
Dude, what?
these weights go flying bruh damn
Very impressive

Also one of the most beautiful athletes on the platform. She is gorgeous!!❤
I bet she never gets out of shape.

W house. Cool brand.
as a man I find strong women attractive.
115/145 next world’s. Take that to the bank.
Rewatching this video after she just did 115/140 at Europeans with three misses. If she has a good day she'll top 115/145. 116/148?

Would be hilarious to see her enter a powerlifting comp and do a 220 kg no no no squatter
She is strong. That's weight is like lifting those professional wrestlers over her head.
that smile
I ❤ strong women.😊
So it was Mattie Rogers first then Kate Vibert replaced her and now Olivia Reeves dethroned Kate to become #1
I understand wrong or olivia it's pretending to do a powerlifting meet??
Maybe.. just maybe the freakiest strength freak of them all. Man or women

Why don’t they use metal plates ?
You drop the weight from overhead in this sport.
they are metal on the inside. sometimes they shatter amd the metal is all thats left.

@@Gamer1000-y2g wouldn’t you expect her to adjust her training program over time as needed?
