    Good video, wish the power steering belt instructions were slower. Also, it’s a BEAST getting that belt up there on that belt since you have to feel abs can’t really eyeball it. Also, seems like there’s a L shaped bracket of some sort up there that keep that belt from slipping off the pulley I imagine? Other than that, good video

    Thanks for this video. Is the first belt you removed the one that drives the power steering pump? If so, does that belt drive any other accessories? I am trying to temporarily disable my power steering pump without stopping any other vital functions. So removing that belt is my plan. Thank you.

    Why do you loosen the alternator mounting bolts? Shouldn't just loosening the adjustment bolt let you get the belt off? And when putting the belt back on the alternator, why would you use the adjustment bolt before tightening the mounting bolts?

    • @chawkie10
      @chawkie10 9 лет назад +2

      Because you can't adjust it with the 2 bolts tight there Einstein!

    someone tell me why after loosening both the alternator bolts that belt is still tight as it was before....

    • @randomsecrets
      @randomsecrets 5 лет назад +1

      Because after you loosen the alternator bolts, you have to run the 13mm adjustment bolt out for the alternator to move and give you some slack. The other 2 bolts are to lock it in place after adjustment

    is there a specific torque for setting the alternator adjusting screw tightness?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  8 лет назад +1

      +Tom G there really isn't a a torque spec, just tightening it so it doesn't slip on the pulley but not so tight it takes out the alternator bearings

  • @Flipz10
    @Flipz10 8 лет назад +1

    What's the point of a tutorial with out measurements for tension on the installed belt. you go through the importance of it not being too tight or too loose on the alternator and move right on.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  8 лет назад +5

      +Flipz10 not to loose as to slip on the pulley and not so tight you can play a tune on it.

    What the torque specs on the adjusting screw

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  8 лет назад

      +Jordan Johnson it really doesn't have a torque spec, tighten it so the belt is tight enough not to slip on the pulleys, it will need to be rechecked after the engine has been run for awhile.
