Your right, the FDA is not for protecting consumers, round up was deemed safe to use by FDA, talcum powder and a long list of other products that were/are harmful. If the commercial says you could be intitled to compensation for using this that or the other, the product was ok'd by the FDA first.

My mini dachshund when she was younger got what I am sure was salmonella poisoning from dogfood. She was very ill(vomiting with the smell of feces, diarrhea, etc) Of course she had to go to vet immediately and be kept overnight on fluids, meds. It took her a bit to fully recover from it. How I knew it was the food was because it was a new dog food I had started her on (Earthborn I believe) and when she felt better and I tried to feed it to her (not realizing that is what made her ill) she refused to eat. Dachshunds eat everything! So when she refused it, a light bulb when on that she knew the dog food was tainted.

Aflatoxin is poison from mold and a few years ago, it caused illness and death in dogs. • @tonyahoward3563
      @tonyahoward3563 Год назад

@connie4628 have you read the ingredients? Corn and corn products - highly genetically modified, no nutritional value & highly susceptible to mold (the mold has been the cause of many recalls), poultry by-products - doesn’t state what poultry... by-products in pet food are bits discarded and have been shown to contain dead, diseased, and dying animals. Some foods have contained euthanasia drugs.
I would not feed that to my animals. I wouldn't take the risk.
I am glad the animals appear healthy. If she is feeding dry, btw it is highly processed and definitely not an optimum diet. That is especially true for cats. Cats should be fed a moisture rich diet WITHOUT carbohydrates since they have no requirements for carbs. In fact they have difficulties digesting carbs. For those people who still choose to feed carbs...often for financial reasons and initially from lack of knowledge....I suggest they add water to the dry. Cats do not really have a thirst drive so they do not drink enough water. If fed dry then they are in a constant state of dehydration putting strain on their kidneys...often leading to kidney issues, even failure.
Carbohydrate intake leads to weight gain and a higher risk of diabetes.
Sorry for the long reply but I see these issues all the time and with knowledge people can avoid the heartache of a sick animal.

The thing is, if people are buying heavily discounted pet food, they probably can't afford to take their animals to the vet if they get sick from it. Especially with veterinary visit prices having skyrocketed over the last couple years.
It's a bad joke for a recall to be issued, but we're left

I’m still on the bag I bought maybe 1-1 1/2 months ago. My dog eats chicken mixed with a little dog food & rice/veggies when I have those. My cat will eat nothing but dry cat food and her bag is about a month old (yes I seal it in those big ziplock bags). My cat recently had to go to the vet, $400 later (they wanted to do $900 of tests etc) I figured out what was going on and corrected the issue. Now my 10 year old dog, chihuahua mix, is making me cry because I know she’s in pain. I believe it’s her hips/joints because she’s starting to have a hard time walking especially when she first gets up from laying for any amount of time. I’ve been giving her the doggie aspirin (no it’s not actually aspirin) which seems to help a tiny bit but I certainly can’t afford another vet visit. I’m on SS and as we all know that’s not enough for 1 person to live on anymore. My animals get fed before I do though. Maybe I’ll skip buying a new bag of dry dog food this coming month & do some work around for her

Here is the information about Inmar Supply Chain Solutions recall. My question is, if this stuff was already recalled, why was it sold again? And also that they only say "MAY have been the products previously recalled". wth?
"It is to be noted that Inmar Supply Chain is neither the producer nor a distributor of the affected products. The establishment acts as a third-party logistic provider for retailers and manufacturers across the country who may need help with handling recalls and other relevant services.
Additionally, it must be noted that the products affected by this recall may have been the products that were previously recalled by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and may not be meant for direct sale to consumers.
Inmar Supply Chain has said the affected FDA-regulated products were only sold to salvage buyers. The establishment has already informed the salvage buyers of the problem through email and also advised them to destroy all the FDA-recalled products by following the proper safety steps."

Nestle owns 30 brands of pet food. So anything under the Nestle unbrella.
Not just discounted but sold at discounters like Ollies. Who buy their merch in lots.
They didn't name names because it's possible they didn't have accurate records of which brands were being stored or the products are so vast. (see last paragraph).
It's a lot like resellers of clothes.
When Macy's penny's out a brands shirts or pants that aren't selling, it's boxed up with other brands that are getting pennied out. Sold as a lot, by lot number, to a company like Inmar who then auctions it off to discount stores.
You know you're getting name brand items and what the items might be(shirts, ect..) but the actual name of the brands aren't part of the equation.
There is always a manifest of the items included in the shipment, but it could be so dense (many brands) they simply notify the reseller to pull the items in any event. Instead of issuing a multi brand recall.

Thank you so much Doc! Thank God my girl finished her last bag of that kibble awhile back. And it was NOT discounted believe me😮 I'm not feeding her kibble anymore since your last vid on the stuff I caught. I do however feed her Beneful wet tubs. I hope this wasn't including wet food?! I intend to start feeding her a topper of Sundays soon. She loved the samples and since its air dried and human grade I hope it will be good. These types are so expensive so I simply can't afford to go whole hog. We've fed all our dogs various Purina foods over many years. It's so not cool doing that to the consumers and their fur babies! Damn our socalled government. It's getting more and more like the horrible treatment in some of the eastern countries. Wtf is wrong with these people? Bought by the big corps it seems. Money talks and that's all that matters. We should discover what THEY feed THEIR pets. I've no doubt this heat etc is going to continue. It's happening rapidly now along with many other bad signs. Does this extend to cat kibble too? Very afraid that it does. It's always the animals and little kids that suffer the most when things begin to fail. Maybe the elderly and infirm as well. Govt for the people. Right.🙏😡🐾💔

This makes me question places like Amazon. What if people purchase this food in bulk because it is so cheap, just to resell on sites like that? People do it with everything else, so why not food? I don't purchase cat food from them, but I have purchased supplements and succulent soil (which was full of mold upon arrival), which made me question the quality of how they store items. Any time I got "fresh" produce items from the delivery service, it was always past the date + going bad/already bad. :\

In July 2023, for the first time, I purchased my dogs food online, from Amazon because it was cheaper...needless to say, my dog was just not feeling well...lethargic, no appetite. I'm just assuming it might have been tainted dogfood. Also, with the hot month of July and living in the hot Arizona area...the food could have sat in a hot warehouse or delivery warehouse.
I threw the food out and purchased another brand (not online & not from Amazon). Now it's the end of August, and my dog is back to his old self.

I only buy meat for my dog's food now, I don't eat it anymore so cook him food that lasts maybe a couple of weeks or a bit longer and he's over 120 pounds. Easy to freeze half of it and feed the rest...I use most of it as a topper on some kibble. Stay away from the big corporations please, same with human food. Most of them use GMO seeds so JUST SAY NO. Stay away from the crappy brands like Ole Roy and that bunch, I also avoid Purina too...read labels, limited ingredient is better as well. You can spend less by making your own dog food.

Just please don't feed him cooked bones. We've been warned that things like cooked chicken bones shatter easily. Raw is fine by what was reported. Idk if Doc had that vid or where I learned it but it makes sense. Especially in lieu of the fact that wild canines/felines don't cook theirs lol. We lost our 12yr old pibble last year to something horrible that the vets just couldn't handle. He was a big boy but not as big as yours! It was heartbreaking to see him go from his happy sweet self to an unrecognizable dog in terrible pain. He even growled at us which he had never done in 12yrs! That dog survived PARVO as a pup and we adopted him at 9mths. He so loved his food! But our first pibble we lost to bone cancer. HE never growled or lost his happy or stopped eating. It tore us up but we couldn't make him suffer thru anymore tests and treatments. He could no longer potty by himself. But that was nothing compared to what happened last year to our beloved Titan. They let him suffer. Stubborn. So we had to set him free as well. Idk now. Maybe his kibble didn't help. He had been injured tho and they said they couldn't see anything on his xrays etc. He got kicked accidentally and we were right there! They said it was just arthritis. Old age. Wow. Overnight. Right. That runs hideously in my fam. We just lost my bro and my Mom partially due to that disease. I and my daughter have it as well. And my other 3 bros. I think we know a little about it. My Mom had so many back surgeries she had a huge spinal mountain. Oh. Sorry. Ranting. Please be safe. Love how you love your doggo! Thank you for sharing🙏🐾💞

This. Makes me angry. As an adult, I have always been careful what I feed my dogs. I started training and showing dogs, starting with my 1sr dog per stipulations set by my dad... to have a dog as a young kid for 48 years now. I have taught classes, judged Conformation and obedience, been an AKC Ring Stewart, and bred in a very expensive, high-end fashion, longcoat imported European German Shepherds.
I listened to the advice from my vet about grain free... but after about 1 year, I started mixing it with food containing grains. The foods I fed were always very expensive and I researched them before I fed.
I'm retired from breeding but still train and compete with my 5 German Shepherds. One day, we had an emergency. Visiting family, I realized during the trip....our food container got broken and the food got contaminated. We were in a different state, and they didn't carry the food we were feeding.
My family suggested we try theirs. I really didn't want to. It was Canidea😮 All life stages.
I'm thinking....equivalent to Dog Chow.....oh God!!!!! With good food, no matter what brand, their stool always smelled and was a little soft. Because it would be an instant switch....the runs for sure.
I was shocked when they had the best stool EVER. It has been 3 years now, they still eat it, I still cringe, and they still have the best stool. I have tried to switch them. If I add a bit of anything else, they don't want to eat.
Personally, I don't like their coats! But .....
I worry about bad ingredients in th8s food. It seems low-end to me.

The first 2 yrs of his life were touch and go and thousands of $ in vet bills but he was not improving at all. I stopped all vaccines, except rabies which he has only had 2 of those in his life. Stopped buying expensive vet garbage food and started cooking for him when he was 2, and started following Veterinary Secrets! He has been on Dr Joneses Advanced Canine Formula supplement as well :) My beautiful dog will be 11 in January! We have been told that rest of his brothers and sisters did not live past age of 4, most of them died at age 2.😢I don't believe there is a single healthy dog food option available. I think they are all garbage. I have bought some "higher end" brands to have on hand in case of emergency.
